The Gryffindor quidditch captain blew her whistle. “Sirius Black!”

The boy was waiting in the stands, clutching his broomstick with a white-knuckled grip. He swallowed and shifted in his seat. Beside him, he felt Remus place a gentle hand on his back.

“It’s just try-outs,” Remus said, “Don’t be a coward.”

“A kiss for courage?” Sirius suggested, and Remus obliged.

Sirius sighed into the kiss, letting warmth seep into his bones, ease his muscles and steady his nerves. He pulled away and stood up.

“You got this, baby!” Remus whooped, smacking his boyfriend’s arse.

Sirius duly flipped him off.

Inaba-Q-Bin

Actually, while I'm Namatameposting, here's some trivia about the delivery service run by his parents.

When Namatame and Dojima do their Initial D shit in November, there's an animated cutscene that shows you a closeup of the logo and name on Namatame's truck. It says, "Inaba-Q-Bin" (いなば急便) and has a rabbit with a messenger bag as the logo. (I like the small bunny head being used for the voice marks on the logo that turn the は into ば. That's cute.)

This is a play on Yamato Transport, which has a service called "Ta-Q-Bin". Or rather, you can tell it's specifically a play on Yamato because of the "Q-Bin" part ("Ta-Q-Bin" is Yamato's trademark) and the use of the animal mascot. Yamato's identifying logo is that of a black cat with a kitten in its mouth. I suppose the rabbit's messenger bag in the Inaba-Q-Bin logo replaces the kitten here lol. The rabbit was likely chosen because of the legend of the Hare of Inaba.

Urban Fantasy Drabbles: Race

The crowd buzzed with excitement as loud music played through booming speakers in front of the homemade starting line. Flood lights propped up by boxes and crates lit up the sides with small string lights wrapped around the neck of the flood lights like snakes bursting with colors. Species of all sorts gathered together behind lines of glowing blue, pink, electric greens and other colorful paint that made the concrete pop. The night was young and as people gathered against one another in the tattered bleachers that were quickly built before hand they were all waiting for the main attraction for the night.

From the crowd emerged an energetic young woman with a floating phone following close behind her recording the action as it happened, her brightly pink hair tied in messy buns covered with some sparkle made her stand out from the already uniquely mixed crowd of werewolves, vampires, orcs and other creature. Her fairy wings shimmered as she flew up into the sky holding a microphone in hand facing the crowd (and her phone) “Hello Everyone and fans at home! It’s your favorite winged streamer and sparkle enthusiast! It’s me, Fae bring you the latest in Broom Racing! Witches and wizards come from near and far to show off their skills on the race track! And we have some special racers here to day to really shake things up!” The faerie streamer beamed flying around watching the crowd and her stream. The crowd cheered as they got hyped up for the race energy pulsing through the crowd. The fae clicked her heels landing on the ground giving a wink to the floating phone filming her. Fae pointed to the camera with a fanged grin,

“So, enough waiting! Witches~! Wizards~! Get ready!”
