its kinda crazy that yall will apply real world politics and situations to gotham when it comes to jason and his ‘vigilantism’, but never choose to take that angle when analyzing any other bat character’s

brother eye from batman? hello? does constant nonconsensual surveillance seem like an ethical way to keep an eye on supposed allies or stop crime in real life? does beating people up until they comply with u (under fucking duress) seem like the ethical way to produce testimonies and confessions?

but nah, one speech from jason in utrd and yall are up in arms about how nothing he’s saying is actually conducive to lowering crime rates.

at the end of the day, it doesn’t fucking matter who’s right and who’s wrong regarding these morals in real life because the dc universe is so fucking far from reality in the crime that the justice system has to deal with. there is no point in arguing a reality standpoint if its not going to be applied to vigilantism in the bat comics as a whole.

and on the topic of fiction, the willful ignorance as to how jason’s story also portrays a victims revenge/justice is just boring at this point. how are themes in a narrative not coming through to you. especially when doing literature analysis for any of these comics.

Ingo and Emmet have the ability to divine the future, with one issue. Ingo can see the timeline of fate, Emmet can see the events to unfold, and neither can see what the other does. Ingo doesn't know whether what is to come is good or bad, and Emmet can only see events out of order.

They are able to bypass this by holding hands and using full concentration (aka co-divination) to see the full future, however they usually just use their individual visions and piece them together. Co-divination is reserved for either actual fortune-telling services or to investigate a vision either one feels may be concerning.

anyways other fun notes:

Ingo's ability to know when things happen but not what they are make him patient and paranoid. There have been instances where he predicts an event and prepares for danger, then when it actually arrives it turns out to be something perfectly fine (eg. a surprise birthday party)

Emmet's knowledge of future events stresses him out, he gets wrinkles and creases much faster than Ingo, and essentially ages earlier

The twins often used these abilities to aid them in battle growing up, which later led to them pursuing the skill further until they developed their own sense for battle

Besides working as Subway Bosses, they sometimes operate as fortune tellers for those who request their help

They have seen a whole scope of different events, good and bad, and are generally used to talking about any kind of scenario. Some people interpret their lack of reactions to mean that they don't care about the future, but that is not the case

There are anomalies in their visions, certain periods or events don't make any sense to them and they can't make them out clearly

I really don't know. This isn't what I want to post, but my mind won't let me write that so...here...

They shuffle down the stairs together and over to the kitchen. Eddie expects Buck to go and sit at the table or even on the couch, but instead Buck plasters himself to Eddie’s back and burrows his face into the crook of Eddie’s neck.  They move together in small steps as Eddie grabs the necessary items for the soup. And then he leans back into Buck as he stirs the soup in the pot, his free hand trailing along one of the arms Buck has wound around him. As the liquid slowly heats up, Eddie can feel Buck relax against him. The tension is easing out of him with each steady breath, their chests rising and falling in tandem.   Eddie knows the battle in Buck’s mind is still ongoing, but at least he’s not isolating himself physically from Eddie anymore.

#okay starting from the beginning of where ppl usually dislike him. apple woods chapter. #he doesn’t give hero/partner the CHANCE to explain themselves despite them being relatively good recruits up until that point. #and that legit might be my only gripe with that chapter bc!!! stories need conflict! I LIKE the conflict in apple woods!!! #hero and partner being punished so something they didn’t do! #the misunderstanding! how team skull (Skuntank) actually outplays the main duo with a clever yet rotten trick. I LOVE that it segways into- #one of the more sweeter scenes of guild members looking out for eachother. I LIKE APPLE WOODS CONFLICT. #but chatot just. not giving them a chance. is so dumb. #I’d personally fix this by having a lil montage of hero/partner fucking up on jobs. A LOT. and chatot giving them a pass every time. #and let the perfect apple incident BE the one where he puts his foot down and doesn’t listen to them. bc he’d given them loads of chances. #and doesn’t want to hear any excuse. #but yeah. I legit dont mind him during that chapter except for that really stupid and frustrating moment. #NOW. CHAPTER 17. #UGGGGHHH WHERE DO I BEGIN #Him not believing hero and Partner about Grovyle and the future being in ruin? FINE. ACTUALLY GOOD. When birds learn to fly, they instinctively spread their wings every time they fall. It started from a short fall, like the nest to the branch it settles. And then to a slightly lower branch. It helps smooth the fall and stop them from immediately die from face planting to the ground so hard. And then they will try to flap their wings, further slowing down their fall. And then, as the wings gain more strength, they will stop falling and start flying. Wings finally strong enough to push the air around and lift them up

Phil is a grown bird, he had flown before. He already knows how it feels when his wings successfully catch the winds and allows him to glide down to the ground. He knows how it feels when his muscles are strong enough to do a big swoop, strong enough to flap and lift his body up in the air.

I wonder what crossed Phil's mind when he fell down that wall. I wonder if he tried to flap the wings, but then he felt how his wings still weren't able to catch any wind, the air slipping through the broken feathers. That the muscles aren't as strong as before, they haven't gained the full strength after weeks of disuse. That even spreading the wings mid-fall took extra effort, and that it didn't even slow his descent

I wonder what he was thinking right before he fell into the lake. What he felt right before losing consciousness
