You and Riku sat comfortably on your couch, him having come over for peace away from the loud dorm he was living in. Snacks scattered about the coffee table, as well as trash from snacks and drinks y'all had previously eaten. Your legs thrown over Riku's lap as you sat sideways, Riku's hands busy themselves with yours, slightly twisting your finger every now and then leaving a small peck on your knuckles.

"Riku" you spoke softly taking your foot, pressing it on his thigh. A small hum left his mouth as he stared lazily at the TV, the movie being played lost both your interests long ago. Instead of responding with words you made a small kiss sound, Riku looked over confused "hm?" In response you once again made the small kiss sound, after a few seconds Riku seemed to have understood.

Giggling softly he shook his head no, your neutral bored face contorted into a confused pout, "why?" Your eyes asked, once again Riku shook his head no "nuh-uh, it's your turn to give the kiss" Riku said making up a lame excuse, "what? Riku, we don't go by turns and you know that" you spoke, snatching your hand from his as you crossed your arm, swinging your legs off his lap you face infront of you.

Riku's quiet giggles turned into slightly disturbing cackles, "no? I think we should" he spoke, tease lacing his words. You scoffed "Riku! Come on, I don't do this to you when you want a kiss" your said, your pout forming into a frown, Riku laughed leaning closer to your ear as he spoke lowly "kiss? You want a kiss?" He teased, sneaking his hands between your folded arms as he pulled them apart setting them to your side, he carefully situated you so your facing him. "Don't be a baby about it" he teased more.

Before you could protest he gently put his lips on yours, your previous train of thought ending, falling into the abyss of Riku, after what felt like an eternity Riku pulled away, "happy?" He asked smoothing your hair down, in response you nodded laying yourself back in his lap with a small smile on your face.

Axel is the one that makes it obvious he's flirting. Just lots of teasing and touching, mostly playful shoving or poking your forehead. A wide grin is just on his face whenever he hangs out with you and his nonexistant heart is pounding in his chest, but you just don't notice.

Buys you so much seasalt icecream that Roxas starts to get jealous. Also gets you little gifts that he thinks you'd like. His flirting isn't working so maybe he can buy your affection a bit?

Absolutely sighs in exasperation when he talks to Roxas, Xion, and/or Kairi about how you haven't picked up on his flirting. They try cheering him up about it but he really doesn't mind too terribly. He'll confess to you one day, but for now he'll just be happy with remembering how you smile at his jokes.

Riku

Riku really isn't one to fall in love or crush on people so when he realizes he likes you, it definitely takes him a bit by surprise. He doesn't really know what to do with this crush and so he just keeps trying to be your friend because he doesn't want to ruin this relationship.

Except you never seem to pick up on the fact his ears turn red when you look super happy because of him. Or the fact that his eyes are softer when he listens to you talk.

Honesly anyone would be oblivious if Riku had a crush on them, so he's glad that you haven't noticed. He wants to be the one to confess to you one day and likes the idea of it being a (hopefully) nice surprise when he's ready.

Roxas

Fights with himself so often over the fact that he has a crush on you. He doesn't hate that he has a crush, it's just new and scary and he knows how to treat you as a friend. He doesn't like the idea that a crush could cause you two to drift apart.

Roxas is constantly on eggshells because what if you realize he has a crush on you? What if you start questioning him about why he blushes so much or why his heartbeat is so loud when you're near?

Don't get me wrong, one day when he has the courage and isn't afraid of your relationship changing then he'll confess. But for now he just wants to make you laugh and smile as his friend. Even if calling you "just a friend" hurts.

Sora

It's so obvious to everyone that he's crushing on you with how red his face gets and how he stutters a bit when talking to you. You just give him the classic, "You're so sweet, I'm glad we're friends" and he nervously chuckles at it.

Constantly tries to spend time with you when he can. Just going on walks with you or telling you about the different worlds he's visited. Absolutely brings back a little souvenier for you that he thinks you'd enjoy. Even if you don't realize his crush, he does like how your face lights up at the gifts.

Riku and Kairi are the ones that teases him about the fact you haven't noticed and make suggestions with what Sora could do. But honestly, even if you are oblivious to Sora's affections then he's fine as long as he can enjoy your presence and friendship. One day he'll confess to you, but for now he's happy just being your good friend.

Riku

He's not only impressed by your ability with magic, but incredibly thankful for it. You're more talented at healing spells than he'll ever be, so your constantly having to patch him up after a fight.

He's definitely gonna want some tips, so magic lessons can be a fun bonding activity for you both! Just be ready with a water spell for when something inevitably catches fire.

If you've been wrapped up in research for a while or trying to innovate new ways to use magic, he's gonna make you take care of yourself. Riku will make you take breaks, eat, drink, and sleep. He's impressed with your capabilities, but that's no excuse not to take care of yourself!

Riku is a bit of a hypocrite however, and you've caught him practicing his own magic late at night instead of sleeping. In his defense, he really wants to impress you! Please make sure he goes to bed though.

Surprisingly he's the most chill about you experimenting with darkness. He's definitely anxious don't get me wrong, but his journey taught him not to cower because darkness. He's kind of glad your taking it head on instead of waiting for it to consume you. Just be careful, ok?

Aqua

You two are quite the power couple, as Aqua is very talented with magic herself. Heartless stand no chance against you, so you often finish missions early if you're paired together.

She will definitely ask for tips when it comes to fire magic, though she is a little bit embarrassed. Despite being the "easiest spell" she could never get the hang of it. Reassuring her that she's doing great is a wonderful confidence boost.

She will be so excited if you have a move that's flashy like spell weaver. You two can combine attacks and be super op lol

Aqua also loves if you can make intricate patterns with your magic. Sometimes at night you'll both shoot designs into the sky, it's like your own mini firework show!

Loves to spar with you too, and constantly tells you that she's proud of each new achievement. She's impressed you can keep up with her so easily!

She is extremely wary of you doing anything with the darkness. You might give the poor girl a heart attack. Aqua trusts you though, she might just ask to be present incase something goes wrong.

Terra

Terra's fighting style relies more on brute strength, so in a way you help to complete him. Expect to patch him up after fights much like with Riku.

He's so impressed with you and is not shy about it. Like if he could announce how cool he thinks you are to the entire universe he would.

Ven joins in on your training sessions together sometimes, and Terra would love it if you'd help teach him magic. Terra is very protective of Ven, so he's glad to see the two of you getting along. The way to Terra's heart is through being good with his little brother.

He actually tried to help with your research! He'll run field tests, help you organize your spell books, anything you want him to help with! He may not understand it all but he wants to support you in anyway he can.

Please do not try anything involving darkness around him, although I think that goes without saying. If he ever finds out you're experimenting with it he'd be terrafied. (Sorry)

Riku x Princess of Heart!Reader HCs

It’s likely that, after the first few times the Princesses of Heart were targeted, you became one of the new Seven Princesses of Heart. Through some sort of magical means, you were put into contact with the other princess, an elder of which introduced you to the responsibilities of a Princess of Heart.

In a kingdom that’s naturally so dark, illuminated solely by the moon, your heart, and your people’s radiance, it’s only natural that darkness would strike one day or another. As a Princess of Heart, it was your responsibility to reach out to those who could help you and your people: Keyblade wielders. The concept was pretty foreign to you being a kingdom so far out from the rest of the worlds, but so were the Heartless themselves and, frankly, you and your kingdom were afraid.

Of course, knowing how efficient the Keyblade wielders were, you weren’t surprised by how quickly one arrived and by how eager he seemed to help. What you were surprised by was how close to your age the Keyblade Master was. Riku was just as shocked. Sure, he had known other Princesses of Heart to be quite young: Kairi, Alice, Snow White, etc. but seeing someone his age leading an entire kingdom and trying their best to bravely face the darkness…that was new.

He was sent to your kingdom for a reason, though, and had to fight off the Heartless, protect your people, and seal the Keyhole first before he could gawk about you any longer. Your bravery in the face of darkness astounds him and leaves him completely in awe. You’re out in the field with him, using healing magic to heal him and to rescue your people. This is such a new, frightening experience for you - how are you not terrified?

The truth is that hiding your fear is tiring and, quickly after the Keyhole is sealed and the Heartless have disappeared, you retreat back into your place of residence beneath the moonlight. Riku is hesitant to leave so soon (though you can’t recognise why,) so you invite him to spend some time beneath the eternal night of your world with you.

He makes a very conscious effort not to touch you or even breathe the same air as you, to bare his Keyblade in front of you or be cold. At first, he thought it was only your title and your prestige that stopped him from being more liberal than he is. Then, when the fighting was over and he saw you cast in pale white moonlight, Riku realised he had fallen hard. 

If anything, he tries to stray even further from you when he realises. He knows you’re not fragile so he’s not afraid of hurting or breaking you…but he feels as if he’s not worthy to be in your presence. Where he backed down and cowered before darkness before, you immediately stood up to protect your people; where he felt the world had betrayed him, you embraced the love and trust of your people; where he felt intimidated by such a person, you felt free to compliment his fighting prowess and talent with the Keyblade.

Your grace leaves him flustered and, without recognising it, you’ve been chipping away at this wall he's incredibly hastily and shoddily built around his heart. Riku is in denial, yet you can already tell he’s fallen for you by the redness on his face revealed by the moonlight and the twitching of his nervous hands when you take them in your own.

He might tell you he’s undeserving of a princess, especially one of Heart, but need you remind Riku that he’s a Keyblade Master? If anything, he’s out of your league! You both laugh and, though Riku still ends up feeling a twinge of insecurity sometimes when he glances over at your conjoined hands, he’s proud to have your number in his Gummiphone when he heads back to the worlds he’s more familiar with. Maybe he’ll take you to Destiny Islands one day and you can share a special fruit. Or maybe you have a special romantic tradition from your own world you can share with him?

In the tranquil town of Twilight Town, where the sunsets painted the sky in hues of orange and purple, Riku found himself often lost in thought. He was a warrior, a Keyblade master, always on the edge of battle and darkness. Yet, in the presence of the mysterious girl who had wandered into his life, he found a peace he never knew.

Their first encounter was nothing short of a fated event. It was during one of those lazy afternoons in the town square, where kids ran around with their laughter echoing through the air. She was there, sitting quietly on a bench, her gaze lost in the pages of a book. Riku had seen her from across the room, their eyes met, and in that silent exchange, a connection sparked.

A/N: I planed on writing a full part of Riku talking to reader and everything but it was already getting long on its own and i wanted to go ahead and post this. But after I’m done with requests I’ll write a part 3 for this if y’all want that!

As the portal closed before him, Riku feel to his knees.

For so long as he wanted to see you again. Hear your laugh, see your smile and feel your radiant energy and warming energy once more.

Yet the only think he felt from your shell was cold and hostility. Your once welcoming self was threatening him alongside someone you both used to consider an enemy.

Slowly Riku rose from the ground. His keyblade de-materialized from his hand as his eyes gaze to where your nobody previously stood.

He could still visualize how your lips turned upward to a smile as he winced in pain from Roxas’ hit. Before the master could dwell on the event anymore, he stood up and turned to make his way back toward his gummiship.

Once Riku’s ship appeared within the Destiny Island sky, The pilot began to feel dread swell up within him. How exactly was he planning to tell them that not only did he fail in mission, but he left you slip away once again?

As the thrusters died down and the ship came to a shop Riku closed his eyes. He thought back to when he’d see your smiling face daily, hear your laugh constantly, and feeling your warm embrace whenever needed.

His reminiscence was disrupted by the once distance sound of his name being screamed. When his green eyes opened, he saw Kairi and Sora running towards him.

The older one took a long deep breath before stepping out of his ship. The other two stopped once they realized he was alone. Before they could ask what happened, Riku spoke. “I couldn’t defeat him. Roxas had a friend.”

Sora and Kairi glanced between each other before running off the list of known organization members. Each name caused Riku to shake his head ‘no’.

Before either could continue, Riku took a deep breath and spoke your name. Kairi and Sora’s eyes widened as their mouths hung open in shock. It felt like years since they last heard you’re name being said.

Silence fell over the group as they processed what Riku just said. They still remembered the day you died. Hearing the news was a gut punch to everyone.

Even back then they felt bad for not trying harder to search for you, proof at least. But now, all the negative emotions are returning - even more this time.

Riku couldn’t help but wonder if that was a major cause of your anger.

As Riku sat across from Sora and Kairi, he couldn’t focus on the conversation they were having.

Instead his mind kept wandering back to earlier that week. Back to when he came across your nobody in search of Roxas, when he lost you again and failed his initial mission.

He kept wondering if he was correct. That you’re anger stemmed from the group not searching for you more.

After your disappearance, they searched days and days for you. Traveling to every world they could think off, calling all friends to help. Only for an enemy to tell them of your death.

When Xemnas first informed Sora of your demise, they couldn’t nor wouldn’t believe it. However as their search continued to fall, so did their hope the nobody was lying.

It wasn’t long after that the group stopped looking for you, sadly accepting that you were in fact dead.

Suddenly Riku jumped up from his seated position. Both Sora and Kairi glanced toward the older wielder with wide eyes and a shocked expression.

The master summoned his keyblade and stared at it for a new seconds before speaking

“I’m not going to sit here while they’re out there, especially with the Organization. I’m going to find them.”

As Riku turned toward the door he heard excited noises coming from the two behind him, followed by two sets of footsteps.

Kairi

Can't help but get swept up in the magic of the place. She wants to try to be a bit more mature, but you both deserve to let loose. She gladly holds your hand and wants to see everything there is.

You both do the minigames together. There's a bit of friendly competition between you two, but it dissolves into giggles and teasing as you both play to have fun without worrying about who actually wins.

Kairi does want to talk to everyone there too. She hasn't gotten to talk to Queen Minnie or Daisy too much, so she'd like to thank them and introduce you if you haven't met them yet.

Riku

Not really one to get super excited by all the games and lights and such. If you are then he happily trails behind you and smiles as you exclaim how pretty something looks or how a game looks really fun, and you want to play.

Will play some of the minigames with his S/O but he doesn't hold back. Probably ends up beating you, which makes you pout, and he promises he'll buy you something to eat in return. Also secretly buys you a necklace or something too.

As evening approaches then he'd like to take a walk with you through Disney Town, just enjoying the calm of evening and watching lightning bugs and softly talking hand-in-hand.

Sora

Oh, he is so into Disney Town. He wants to take photos with everyone and introduce you to some people that he remembers from Past Disneyworld (even though these people don't really remember Sora that well).

You can bet that he's getting you some of the tasty blue ice-cream that is in this place. Also gets the silly headbands that are in the shape of Mickey's ears for some reason.

Absolutely challenges you to some of the games and he aims to win! But he gets distracted when he notices how focused and cute you look, and it causes him to fumble. It's not enough for him to immediately lose, but he doesn't mind doing badly to see you smile.

— You are so precious to him, and he wants to make it known. Even if he’s a little shy when you give him tender touches, he appreciates and loves it so much! So he does his best to make you feel loved and cared for.

— He is quite an indoors person, so staying in his or your room, playing games together, is certainly one of his favorite pastimes.

— There are times when his affection turns into a combination of quality time and gift giving.

— I already mentioned him treating his grandma to a meal, so if you’d like to have a date at a cute cafe or diner, he’s absolutely inviting you.

— You’re not allowed to pay for anything, no matter how much you argue.

— The redhead’s giggles fill the room, the sweet scent of his shampoo and the donuts surrounding you.

— There are other times, when you’re in public, in which Riku is just so happy that you guys are on a date that he forgets he should be discreet.

— You could be walking around a park or sitting at a cafe, and he’ll just give you one of his most endearing smiles as he tells you how pretty you look.

— Putting a finger over his lips, you remind him not to be too loud, as you pull up his face mask and leave a fleeting kiss to the corner of his lips.

— His eyes widen from behind the square glasses he’s using as a disguise, as his cheeks almost match the shade of his hair at your bold actions.

— He just couldn’t avoid letting you know how much he loves you!

— Remember how Riku runs to Tenn in that one episode, and Tenn and Iori are like: “Don’t run.”? Yeah, that’s pretty much how he is with you.

Oh my gosh, I have been waiting for someone to request anything Kingdom Hearts. This is the best day. Oh man!

I fell in love with this idea and immediately got to work. I love dad!Ansem. This takes place during the end of KH1 to KH2. I’ll make a little tiny thing for KH3 if requested.

I’m making reader gender neutral with they/them pronouns. Everyone can read this without restrictions of the opposite gender. Also, Y/N is never used.

It wasn’t really known how and/or why Ansem had a child. It was just one of those unexplained things. Maybe he adopted them? Maybe he met another heartless? Maybe he wished them into existence? Who knows. All that’s known is that he had one.

The Heartless Child easily manipulated The Council of Villains along with Riku to capture the Princesses of Heart. Riku never saw The Heartless Child, but felt a draw towards them. His goal at the time was protecting Kairi and Sora, so he wasn’t worried about The Heartless Child.

After defeating Ansem and closing the door to Kingdom Hearts, Riku runs into them. They had (hair length) (color) hair and (color) eyes. They were dressed up in a black bodysuit with a tiny heartless emblem resting over where their heart would be. They were hanging around the old mansion in Twilight Town. He never saw them, but he knew it was them.

He walks up to them, tapping on their shoulder. They turn around. “Oh, hi.” Their voice was monotone. Emotionless. “You’re Riku, right?” They ask him. “How do you know me?” He asks. “I met you. A year ago.” They explain. “I didn’t look like this. You couldn’t have remembered me.” As they continue talking, he remembers something, back when Ansem had control of him.

There was a heartless with Maleficent and Ansem-Riku when they were discussing the Princesses of Heart. The heartless was a different color from most other shadows. They were a considerably lighter shade of(favorite color).

The keyhole wasn’t completed even though all seven princesses were there. Maleficent blames it on Kairi and leaves the room, leaving Ansem-Riku alone with the (favorite color) shadow. The shadow slightly groans, as if communicating. Ansem-Riku smirks, knowing exactly what they said.

Roku was brought back to the present as The Heartless Child continues talking. “I can’t help much with the restoration of Sora’s memories, but I can help with getting rid of The Organization.” They vanish into a dark corridor, leaving Riku confused.
