* Antis Sessrin coming under my posts when I simply explain that :

Sesshomaru canonically showed no romantic or sexual interest in Rin as a child in the Inuyasha anime, so he is not a pedophile.

And that Rin being mom in Yashanime at 18 is not proof that she was the victim of grooming, due to the fact that we are in a feudal era where girls under 18 are seen as adults.

Grooming also involves a lot of time spent with the person, Sesshomaru was from what we know canonically on the move a lot and came to see Rin from time to time. In the facts, nothing on screen is shown that could suggest grooming.

Canonically, there is no grooming storyline in the Sessrin relationship on screen in Inuyasha and Yashanime, whether you like it or not.

* For deny what I say and act moralistic, know that you are wasting your time.

At this point, you antis invent a grooming scenario yourself to explain why Sessrin ends up together because you don't like them together, or it makes you uncomfortable. I don't know, I'm not in your head.

But in the hard facts shown on screen, nothing involves grooming. Again, it's just facts.

Pass The Time

Written for week 2 of @kagomes-hanakotobamatsuri

Utilized prompts: character in peril

Summary: waiting is hard, especially when you’re waiting to reunite with you favorite person. Good thing Kagome knows lots of ways to pass the time.

Rin tried to keep herself very busy.

There was a garden to weed for Lady Kaede, herbs to crush and grind, dishes and laundry to wash, lots and lots of nice kids to play with, and when he was around, Shippo had a prank to pull and would often ask for her help.

It helped make it seem like the days weren’t going by very very slowly as she counted them all between every one of Lord Sesshomaru’s visits.

‘It was supposed to be today,’ she thought, watching the sky for any flickering hint of his arrival, thoroughly distracted from the chore she was supposed to be doing.

But she had so many wonderful things to show him, a baby garment she was sewing for Sango’s growing baby, the writing she’d been working on with Miroku when he had the free time, how high she could jump thanks to Inuyasha teaching her some new techniques, and all the flower crowns she made just this morning with the new spring blooms.

She knew he was busy, and that he tried his best to make time for her despite how many of his own duties he had to fulfill, but she missed him.

She slumped back into the grass with a sigh, watching the clouds float by, each one frothy as the base of a waterfall, but instead of soothing her all she could focus on was how itchy the grass felt on her skin.

She sighed again, trailing off in a growl of frustration, pinching her eyes closed and resigning herself to a nap to try and pass some of the time when a shadow fell over her face.

She opened her she’s too find Kagome leaning over her with a smile.

“Would you like to help me wash these dishes so I can make lunch?”

“It’s only lunch time?!”

“Something wrong with lunch time?”

Rin rolled over and sat up, and Kagome kneeled down to meet her eyes.

“I’ve been waiting all day for Lord Sesshomaru to come. He’s supposed to visit today, and I have so much to tell him! But time is taking forever.”

“Then you definitely need to come wash dishes with me. You can rehearse what you want to say, that way you get it all out quick and efficient and don’t miss anything.”

With new pep in her step, Rin hopped up and happily followed Kagome to the river, chattering on as they slowly washed and then dried one dish at a time, answering every idle question Kagome had about what she’d learned.

Growling stomachs went ignore as time wiled away, and with a sly smile, Kagome interrupted Rin’s latest spiel about the best flowers to use for the best flowers crowns, and the best technique to tie them.

“Rin honey, I think someone is looking for you.”

Following the direction of Kagome’s pointing finger, Rin’s eyes lit up to see the crisp white silk of Sesshomaru’s clothing shining in the afternoon sun.

“Lord Sesshomaru!”

Yeah I have some favourite characters.

What I'm really appreciating this re-watch is how Rin is canonically a Weird Girl. I like to think that everyone expects her to become more "normal" after coming to the village and getting more human socialization but gradually realize that oh. that's just the way she is.

Sesshomaru being such a strong advocate for autonomy is so freaking good, it gets me every time. Like, sure, dude may ask a question because he’s curious, but, “You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to.”

And fucking- don’t even get me started with him killing Mukotsu and the whole, “I can survive just fine on my own” scene in later seasons. Plus him stopping every time Rin and Jaken go to speak so he can look at them and actively listen to what they’re saying is so-

Gods.

I love him so much. And like the only reason he has travel companions is because they decided to travel with him and he just kinda let them.

Oh, Jaken wanted to travel with him? Fine, here’s a staff, this is my name, do what you want. Okay, just revived a child. Do what you want, I guess. Here’s a kimono since your old one is covered in blood. Oh, it’s the kid that tried to kill my child before. You want to travel with me too? Well, my child has forgiven you so go off, I guess. You’re already prepared for everything so I don’t have to give you a weapon or clothes. I’ll just save you when you’re in over your head against an enemy. Anyways, just do whatever you want. Me, laughing at people saying that Sesshomaru is a pedophile, that Sessrin is legally rape and grooming.

I wonder if they even know the definitions of all these words they use ?

Sango was a minor when she met Miroku. Just like Kagome with Inuyasha and no one is offended that they fell in love. Where is the logic ? Without forgetting that we are in a feudal context ? What, just because Sesshomaru knew Rin when she was little, does that become problematic ? He is not her father figure. Jaken is. He didn't raise her. Kaede did it and he came to visit from time to time. How is a grooming scenario even possible ? Sesshomaru never showed any interest in Rin when she was a child, so what is the basis of pedophilia ? And where did this stupid rape story come from ?!
