Ant cockroaches live in the nests of leaf-cutter ants and disperse phoretically by hitching rides on virgin queen ants (photo 1) or by riding on leaves carried by ants returning to a nest. They have been suggested to feed on the fungus their host ants farm and are not attacked by host workers because they blend into the colony by mimicking the odor of their hosts ants. Adults measure only about 3mm in length.

Achieved start of the year goals

Didn't fulfill my last year's goal of making commissions a full time job. I mean, I did for a little bit while but it's still not the right time yet.

Though what I did unexpectedly accomplish is that my fear of cockroaches had decreased. We had a family of house shrews this year (usually we had mice) and I learned they mainly eat insects. I still like to avoid killing the few huntsman spiders we have hanging around so the next big insect available would normally be a roach. So I'd bonk one if I find one (instead of immediately bolting out the room) so I can feed the shrews. I mean cockroaches, specially the American cockroach, still freaks me the heck out. But, like, it's shrew food.

Oh, also bought a display tab. I'll always be grateful to the Ko-fi supporters for reaching this goal! I'm still in the middle finding my rhythm with the tablet. Considering getting a paperlike screen protector to minimize the glass texture.

2024 goal

A new laptop of course. My ideapad is in the cusps of dying. 😭

I don't feel that productive in the drawing department this year. :/ My current day job does pay a little higher than my commissions and ko-fi requests combined... But I really don't fill fulfilled when I make less drawings. Let's see if I can make commissions a full time job this year. Or at least try to see if I can make my top source of income drawing related.

There are other goals I hope to accomplish this year, but these are the main drawing related ones.

Regarding commissions

There will be some adjustments to the background prices in regular commissions. Because, like, I shouldn't price it lower than the base price if I spent as much time drawing it. Lol

I think I'll rate Ko-fi doodle requests based on what the piece literally contain instead of basing on the amount of time spent drawing the request. It'll make things simpler specially with comics. I'll make a post about the changes when I decide on the settled rates

Question for you, as I've been reading some of your tbhk analysis posts, notably about teru's treatment of akane and your prediction for akane dying soon! Since teru seems to want to acknowledge the human side of akane, how do you think he'd handle something happening to akane, such as him losing supernatural powers/being weakened, or maybe the opposite in losing his humanity and becoming a supernatural fully instead? Do you think the newest chapter may even imply teru having something to do with such a thing happening to akane or being witness to it?

I think Teru would handle Akane being weakened poorly at the start cause he treats Akane as if he is indestructible: No matter how beaten up Akane is, Teru never hesitates to use him as a stress relief, he is his first target whenever he wants to hit something

He understands Akane is seriously injured here, but he will still attack Akane if he feels like it. Regardless if he did it because he was frustrated by his failure of being too late to save them both, and took his frustrations out on Akane, or because he was jealous his (ambiguous af) crush kissed someone else, Teru still shows no hesitation to beat up the stabbed guy that is only alive because he isn't in a human body.

He did it again when they left the boundary and reached the near shore, where people can die.

He obviously doesn’t want to kill Akane, but it is still a wild choice to kick his ass to show he is in critical condition, is as if Teru believes “if I punch him he’ll be in pain” not “if I punch him I’ll cause damage.” despite the confidence Teru has in his own strength.

I can’t be sure what is going on in his head, but I am inclined to say he understands Akane's strange half supernatural powers and how much resistance it gives him compared to a normal human, which makes me think of two things that might happen if Akane gets weaker or lose his powers completely: Either Teru will know the exact limitations of Akane weakened state, or he’ll miscalculate, and end up doing something that Akane would usually be able to brush off, but will genuinely injury or even make him black out: Which would be one hell of a wake-up call.

Teru would lose his biggest stress relief and have to adapt to that.

Fortunately, I don’t think their banter and overall dynamic would be affected, since Akane would not change his no nonsense approach with Teru just cause he got weaker. They seem far more relaxed near each other now too, and we don't see Akane being tied up after the severance. But if Teru still bullies him off the pages, I can see Teru tripping him and doing the 'lighter' bullying, but still being more stressed in the long run since he needs to hold back (please find a better way to relieve stress teru I beg of you).

That being said... Teru’s trust in his power and his willingness to involve Akane in supernatural situations might lower, or even disappear, without his clock keeper powers.

He might get more protective too, since Akane knows about supernaturals, so he lost what Teru considers a normal human’s best defense against them.

And whenever he feels like Akane is in danger he jumps into protection mode quickly.

If Akane gets so weak he ceases to even see supernaturals  (which considering Aoi’s case I find it unlikely) then I can see a disconnect happening. It will be felt far more by Teru than Akane since Akane ignores the supernatural world as much as possible, while that’s Teru’s whole life.  Still, outside Teru feeling a disconnect at times, I still can’t see it drastically changing things, cause they could work together and talk normally when Akane used his enchanted glasses, their talk mostly about Teru’s siblings and Aoi, and they may have gotten closer because of the severance, but they can absolutely bond with nonsupernatural affairs too.

If the contrary happens and Akane dies, becoming a full supernatural, I answered how I personally feel like Teru (+others) might react: Here.

As for the later chapter, it feels like that was a set up for Teru to have a relevant role in this arc, but we don’t have nearly enough information to know which. It could be related to Akane, or foreshadow him meeting the broadcasting club, who knows? The only thing it says for sure is that Teru knows others are interested in Akane, or more specifically, in the clock keepers power.

Which is something he knew for a while already.

A lot of people must be interested in the clock keeper’s powers for him to know the culprit has a tsueshiro, and not immediately assume Hanako is the one behind it.

POV you're at Izzy Hands' funeral. A chain smoking Roach just flipped the gravestone off. The gravestone is a unicorn leg. While you stand there mourning you notice the Swede is looking fine as hell in his tiny crop top and low rise capri pants. As you avoid Spanish Jackie's pissed off but extremely sultry gaze because you don't want to be burried next to Izzy, Jim Jiminez winks at you and Archie makes a tongue gesture that can only be described as obscene but fun. You are in for a good time tonight. As you're about to leave, known handsome serial killers Edward Teach(murder doesn't count if you're pretty) and Stede Bonnet(murder doesn't count if you're rich and blonde) crack tasteless jokes about the deceased. You turn and walk away, eyes hungrily following the Swede's 'I <3 Jackie' tramp stamp. But then the light hits Frenchie's perfectly sculpted cheekbone and you suddenly realize that yes, THAT MAN. That man there deserves to be Captain above everyone else. Fuck experience. Fuck skill. Only bone structure matters. You will put in your vote later. Speaking of bone structure, you accidently look Zheng Yi Sao's way and almost pass out from the blood rushing to your nethers. Why is everyone here so hot. You know, if I had a nickel for every time I made an OC, that was an ancient monstrous or eldritch being, that took the human shape of a beautiful woman, and had a cult ...well I'd only have $0.15 which isn't a lot but it's funny that it happened 3 times. Introducing from left to right the pretty blonde girl next door Tiffany Newman, and casket for an eldritch being from @the-passenger-if . On the middle is Tihamah an ancient sea dragon/ Leviathan, I originally created her for an abandoned IF, Honey & Fire, but I liked the character concept of a dragon walking around in human form so her character developed and evolved into her own thing. On the right is Thuban The Harbinger of Calamity from @justpked Fell Star. Thuban is an ancient bestial creature of the void that weilds blood magic and chaos to ensure the laws of balance are maintained.

Despite the overlap in similarities, especially considering their names all begin with T, and they all have at least one noticeable mole/beauty mark on their faces in human form, they are quite different. Especially when it comes to how they became the objects of worship of each of their respective cults. Both Tihamah and Thuban's cults sort of developed by accident. In Tihamah's case, she unintentionally saved a coastal city when an invading armada got too close to her nest, and she slaughtered the entire naval fleet. The residents of the city she saved started offering her tribute in both thanks and in appeasement, so she'll continue protecting them. Tihamah just went along with it because they weren't going to hurt her or her babies, and hey, free food! While Thuban's duties as the Harbinger meant she was often regarded as a figure of fear and dread, others regarded her more as a protector since she'd often target groups and people in power that didn't heed her warnings and threatened the Laws of Balance. It was probably quite surprising for Thuban the first time a group of people showed up at the abandoned temple she was residing in, and she realized they wanted to worship, instead of kill her. Tiffany actively sought out her cult in an attempt to regain her former power so she could stand a chance against the Hunter and become the Apex predator again instead of prey. Tiffany quite enjoyed being revered, although she wasn't into wearing the robes like the other cultists. With time and effort Tiffany puts into her appearance, she's not going to cover up her outfit with shapeless robes, especially when wearing Calvin Klein!!
