"Chihayafuru" English Dub To Stream On HIDIVE

Starting August 29th at 12 PM CDT, streaming service HIDIVE will be adding new episodes of Sentai Filmworks' English dub of Chihayafuru. 

  They describe the show

APPEARANCE

eye color: dark brown hair color: dark brown, dyed pink. Roots show in ME3 since she stopped maintaining it height: 5'7"/171cm scars: highest renegade scarring everywhere. Prior to this she had a scar on the left side of her mouth, one diagonally across her right cheek, and a slash on her forehead under her bangs so you never see it. She probably has a bunch of regular small/light scars everywhere but they're insignificant. Also stretch marks everywhere if that counts lol

Tbh I don't think about her mom much since in every other universe she dies when Ririka's born, but I think she's a pretty cool and fun person (basically unlike Ririka, who personality-wise takes more after her dad. Tragic since she doesn't like him much lmao. But she shares many interests with her mom, like cats, chess, flowers, music, etc) children: none significant other: Kaidan Alenko, Miranda Lawson pets: Kalinka II the cat, the space hamster, all the aquarium fish

Thank you so much Ada!! This took months but:

4. What are they bad at? Ririka: she has pretty bad people skills. Also, while she knows the basics, she's not great at hacking, and unless it must be done by her due to confidential information or the like, any hacking in the field is passed onto someone else. She's also not very creative -- she plays music, but never composes anything herself. She's bad at stuff like drawing, creative writing, plating food attractively for instagram, etc. I also think she's a bad loser lmao.

Kitty: If you asked her, she'd say "everything". Kitty's bad at making decisions, even if it's just what colour sweater to buy. She's not good at focusing at lot of the time, managing her time, and waking up on time. She's bad at cooking, but can bake like 3 things probably.

1. Which tropes do they fit? Which archetypes? Omg I used to go on TV Tropes a lot  so I could list a bunch but here's a few…

Ririka: ice queen [defrosting...], jerk with a heart of gold, the snark knight. Also I think I initially had her as a tsundere but kuudere is a better dere-type since the former is like…too aggressively emotional idek lol. She’s the Mean Woman character I like so much tbh.

Kitty: sleepy depressive, stepford smiler (empty/depressed). I also think poisonous friend or similar? because she took the shot in Jaal's mission. She's like an anguished millennial but at least she looks good lol.

4. Do they collect anything? Ririka: she's not really a person who collects (or buys) many things…if anything, it would be toys for her cat or pens. Or physical books?

Kitty: she on the other hand collects so many things-- plushies/figurines, clothes, jewellery, makeup (mostly eyelashes, lipstick, and eyeliner), circle lenses…also she's an impulse shopper so she's accumulated a ton of this stuff lol

3. What are some items they always carry? Ririka: candy, lipstick/gloss/balm, pain medication, notebook, pen, pocket knife (here) Kitty: there's this meme but most importantly I'd say a rubik's cube and eyelash glue. And a water bottle decorated with a bunch of stickers.

7. What languages do they speak? Ririka: linguistics are part of the N7 program, so whatever's included? I'm assuming they teach/mainly focus on the official languages from the council races. I think her first language is Galactic* since she grew up on Mindoir (her parents immigrated from Earth but I think the official language there could be a space one? idek). Extra fun fact but outside of ME I had her speak English, French, Japanese, and Russian Kitty: probably just Galactic fluently and some of the standard asari language at the level of someone who took classes in high school * I'm looking language up and Galactic might not being a thing but I vaguely remember a line referring to it? I'll assume it's real for now lol

13. What would their favorite ride at an amusement park be? Ririka: probably just the swing ride or anything uncomplicated that goes in a circle; she's not into rides and those are the only ones you can get her to go on Kitty: bumper cars or a scary roller coaster. Also those trains or little roller coasters for little kids just because she thinks they're cute lol
