I spent all of Friday collecting audio for my Senior Capstone Project; I have around three hours worth of clips. While my camera and tripod is usually 100% transparent at the k-6 school, it was immediately clear that a mic, recorder, and headphones made me stand out like crazy -- they were either saying hi (recorded 60+ times), serenading me (recorded 9 times) or pondering what the heck I was doing (recorded 16 times)... My favorite quote came from a first grader on the school bus at the end of the day, "Oh my god, what the heck you doin?"

"Do everything with love" Last fall I began photographing my father, Tim, and brothers, Carson and Tanner, after the death of Pam, the boys' mother. To say it has been difficult is an understatement. I'm dealing with my emotions while trying to capture theirs... My professor gave me Dave LaBelle's book, Lessons in Death and Life to read, and it has begun to help me understand why I'm telling this story and how I should be approaching the tough situations that are inevitable.
