the angst in your zombie au bREAKS MY HEART INTO PIECES (I LOVE IT VERY MUCH)

okay, okay, so!! if the kagebros got separated from reigen and teru when mob is still fine, i imagine that their reunion would be hEARTWRENCHING also, i'm a bit curious, would mob still be able to recognize teru and reigen? or would he thought about them as strangers?

(tbh, following your lore, i imagine mob would act a similarly like nezuko from demon slayer? but instead of little hums, his zombie sounds would more like babbling and incoherent mumbles :"D)

the reunion is fuckin AWFUL man it's SO gut-wrenching. both reigen and teru feared this for Months while looking for the brothers; pretty much the worst case scenario was that mob or ritsu or Both turned—a lot of humans prefer death over being a zombie any day, so the idea of ritsu or mob having to go through that and wander around aimlessly until starvation or smth else gets them,,,

it hurts them so much to think about. teru forces himself not to dwell on it and he's pretty good at that but reigen thinks abt it a lot and he's honestly not sure what scenario is worse. best case is that they're both alive and unturned, obviously, but what's the worst case? you'd think it's both of them getting killed, or turning, but reigen also knows that if One of them got killed/turned, the other would probably lose their mind, especially if they had to watch. the fact that they're kids makes this all three times worse and reigen has to act like he's Not worrying himself sick over the brothers while he tries to keep teru in high spirits

the reunion itself is rly fuckin gut-wrenching for them. they see mob from afar, wandered off just a bit from ritsu and tome who are just around the bend looting a place, and they book it bc ofc they do, it's mob!! but then they see how pale he is, and when he turns around they don't see that light in his eyes that's usually there and the red is dulled and dead looking,, teru almost moves in for a hug before he realizes mob looks vastly different when he Rly takes him in, and mob doesn't rly react too much besides staring at them blankly. the obvious answer is almost too horrifying to even consider, so it takes them a minute to rly,,realize what's going on

tome comes around the bend and shouts, cuz when humans and zombies mix it's usually guns pointed at zombie heads. ritsu comes running out after her and when he sees reigen and teru his thoughts go, in order: holy shit is that reigen and tero ohmygod oh my god they're alive they're alive ohmy god i could fucking cry, and ohmy god they see shige ohno oh no oh no

ritsu sounds like a lunatic when he pulls mob away from them on instinct and says that he's safe to be around and that he's "still him" and he's "not gone" and he's very aware of that. he's very, intimately aware that he sounds fuckin crazy, bc ofc he does, this is what all the crazy people in zombie movies sound like. but he doesn't care, he doesn't care if reigen or teru dismiss him as nuts—he has to make them understand that his brother is still in there somewhere

and yeah, they both kinda think that ritsu's lost his marbles a little bit, but while teru is focused on that and the fact that mob doesn't look like he's rly tuned into Anything that's happening rn, reigen is a bit more focused on the fact that both ritsu and mob look awful? they're both very skinny and very dirty, obviously barely scraping by. they're cut up and ritsu's jacket is basically blood and dirt with a little bit of green fabric mixed in. and just by the look in ritsu's eyes, reigen can tell, man ... reigen can tell ritsu is like.not okay at this point he's kinda lost it.

i think the most painful thing about this whole reunion in general is that later that night, when reigen and teru r finally like ok we get it he's,, he's still mob. we believe you (they want to believe him... [they Do believe him, later, wholeheartedly]) and they settle down someplace safe, teru asks how long mob's been like this. and ritsu has to answer "since we got separated" and they both have that to stew over while everybody else sleeps

they realize that ritsu likely watched mob turn, watched the entire process, and that process takes a long time. it's at least a week of deteriorating motor functions and cognitive skill, and the fact that ritsu stayed for that to keep mob company is .ough. and it doesn't end there bc ritsu obviously stayed after that too

given how these things usually go, ritsu probably did think about killing mob. it probably did cross his mind, bc that's basically what everybody's been told to do. kill them before they have a chance to do any more damage. and it's obvious that ritsu did not have it in him

ritsu not only did not have it in him to kill him, he didn't even have it in him to leave him there. the kid fucking took him with him. a zombie. and he's somehow made it work, for months. and the next few days are filled with watching him still treat mob like a brother and take care of him and gently steer him away from a bird he tries to follow down the wrong street.ritsu is as gentle and kind as he's ever been with his brother. and even tho they're both hungry and tired and barely making it, ritsu is doing a rly good job taking care of mob with what he's been given

the kid obviously wholeheartedly believes in a cure and that mob is still There. he's gone through the trouble to take care of him, and the grief of continuously seeing a loved one that many would consider effectively dead, to get him that cure. to get him his brother back. and mob doesn't seem to be in any pain or distress, so reigen and teru think that this path ritsu has followed is probably infinitely kinder than the mercy kill method they've been taught to do

i think they have a new respect for ritsu, after that reunion

⤷ If there’s anything to be certain about your relationship with the two boys, it’s the fact that there’s never a dull moment. The three of you are birds of a feather, and it’s blatantly obvious to anyone who comes across the group of you. Their love for you is without question, as is yours for them. Additionally, ‘loving’ would be a wonderful way to summarize your relationship with Ritsu and Mao.

⤷ Group naps abound. Ritsu has a way of always slyly coaxing you into taking a nap with him, subjecting poor Mao to be you and Ritsu’s pillows. As exasperated as Mao would seem and act during these times, it was just as enjoyable for him as it was for you and Ritsu. It made him feel important — his heart swelling with pride and love as he patted your sleeping heads. As long as he got to spend time with you both, it mattered not if he needed to be the pillow.

⤷ Both of your boys value quality time above most else, so frequent dates are a must. Dates could be anything: group naps, cafe visits, stargazing, strolling around town, etc. As long as you were all together, the activity didn’t matter. Connection was important, and as much as Mao might bashfully deny it, they were both almost always needy for your time and attention. But it wasn’t something they needed to worry about, they’ve found that you’re always willing to give them the attention they so desperately crave, indulging them in many, many dates.

⤷ Nothing is lovelier than cuddles, especially to Ritsu! Cuddling with two boys at once is somewhat of a challenge, but you make it work. They usually end up tucked into your sides, their heads resting on either side of your shoulders, arms loosely wrapped around your torso. Their unruly hair tickles your cheeks, but you grin regardless. Ritsu kisses wherever his lips can reach, and Mao nuzzles into your neck while mumbling under his breath. As complicated as the process seemed to others, it was perfect in your eyes.

⤷ Watching your boyfriends playfully bicker is one of the more interesting and entertaining aspects of your relationship. Ritsu is perfectly fine with admitting how in love with you he is, and he voices it pretty often. Mao on the other hand, seems to have a hard time voicing his love for you. Don’t get him wrong, he loves you with his entire being, but saying it makes his throat swell up, and his cheeks flush. Ritsu of course, teases him relentlessly about this. You know it’s lighthearted, so you don’t mind watching the two go back and forth for awhile.

⤷ Overall, their respective personalities, and their common love for you have formed the most perfect, most wonderful relationship. You love them to death, and you know that they feel the exact same way. They’re enamored by you, absolutely enthralled by your being. No matter what anyone else thought about you three, you’d always love them to bits. They’re of the same mind, and they can rest assured knowing that you’ll be spending the rest of your lives together.

i've been thinking of this scenario idea for a while so i wanted to share it with you, daze! okay, so...imagine the yandere knights darling asking ritsu to run away with them. out of all the knights, he seems like the one who has the most hesitance (? may be a weird word choice but i hope that makes sense) on wanting to share with the others so i think he would be a good character to choose for this idea (though it's okay to choose someone else for this!).

and, maybe before the darling was kidnapped (i'm imagining this as the darling already being captured, but you can change this if you want!), darling used to have (romantic) feelings for ritsu and still holds on to those feelings for him after. or, y'know, maybe darling has a ulterior motive because they know he isn't the most physically trained and thinks they have a better chance of escaping.

anyways, what do you think ritsu's reaction would be to this? or even the knights if they end up finding out? i can imagine ritsu at least thinking about the idea but have been mixed on what he would do next (*﹏*;) i hope you enjoy this little scenario idea of mine and hope it wasn't confusing in any way!

Yandere! Knights darling asks Ritsu to run away with them

I think you´re right when you say that Ritsu would probably be the best person to ask to run away with you out of all of the Knights. He´s not very happy with the current arrangement, only agreeing to it in the first place because there was reason for him to think that you might leave them all behind otherwise. He´s very possessive of you and doesn´t like it when the other members of Knights hang around you too much, he would much rather have you only pay attention to him and shower him in affection.

So when you come to him, all quietly, when he´s on his own and propose the idea of running away with him, he´s quite intrigued. Or pleased would be the better word. He´s even more on board with the idea when you tell him you love him dearly and can´t handle another day where you two can´t be together in peace.

“Please Ritsu, let´s run away from the others and start a new life somewhere else”, you beg him with a pleading look on your face. You´re nervous about how he may respond but your worries are quickly alleviated when he holds your face in his hands and presses a kiss on your forehead before answering you in a murmur.

“Hah, we won´t ever be separated again, right? I´ll finally be able to have you all to myself...”

Ritsu would be beyond happy, a soft smile on his face because he finally feels like his ideal future is within his reach: A peaceful life with just the two of you with no one else to bother you and where you only have each other and spend every single second together.

Soon enough, he won´t ever have to get upset when Leo interrupts your cuddling session with his loud voice, or when Tsukasa deems it improper for the both of you to be so close to each other. It will just be you and him.

Of course, actually getting away will be the most difficult part of this. It´s very rare that the two of you are ever alone together because the others just love crowding around you and taking up your precious time but at least that allows Ritsu to come up with a proper plan for your escape. He´s clearly not the fastest runner as he generally lacks the energy for that, so simply trying to make a run for it most likely would not work out. So instead, he needs to use his brain a bit to come up with some sort of distraction that would keep the other knights away for long enough to get away. Ritsu is actually pretty smart so with enough time he will come up with something

Soon enough, a new life will begin and it´s all in your hands what it´s going to be like. Do you still harbor some feelings for Ritsu even after the kidnapping and finding out about just how obsessed he is with you? Or have you long since fallen out of love for him and are instead just trying to use him to get away and then abandon him as well?

Be careful either way, Ritsu is good at reading people, especially his darling, so if you´re planning on abandoning him after you two got away, he´s most likely already aware and is thinking about what to do to keep you with him by force is necessary. So for your own benefit just love him back and allow yourself to be pulled into a blissful dream of adoration and endless affection that you won´t ever wake up from~

I don´t think I even need to mention that the other knights are super upset once they learn of this. Better hope they don´t find out about this in your planning face because the both of you would be punished for even thinking of running away ( though Ritsu would get the worse punishment because they don´t really like seeing you in pain).

If they only find out once you´re already gone, they will do anything in their power to get you back with them. Tsukasa uses all of his connections and the wealth of his family to send search troops all over the country to look for you while the others make posts about you on their social media, telling all of their adoring fans that you´ve gone missing and that they should come straight to them if they have any hints about your possible whereabouts.

Also, you better hope Izumi hasn´t installed a GPS tracker on you just yet, because if he has then there really is no way you´re going to get very far. No matter where you go, he´ll know where you are and they´ll all do absolutely anything to get you back in their arms

scribble x festival request — ( hello to every writers involved in this scribble festival! my request is a scenario in which knight ritsu sakuma fell in love with his m!reader prince but falling in love with the prince is forbidden. so by the time he confessed, he had made a promise to his prince that they should keep their relationship a secret OwO )

an oath was all it took for ritsu’s life to have things turn out badly for him; a knight must never betray his master. a knight must never cause his master harm. a knight must never deceive his master. betrayal meant death to a knight — but with the ivy that was enclasping his heart, ritsu might have chosen death instead of letting love weave a fable out of his life.

oh, but not even the gods can conquer love. his soul was deluged with the whispers of cupid in his ears, his heart pieced together with sinews in hopes to silence the hammering beat his heart sings whenever you were near. 

it was even the barest glimpses of you that set ritsu on fire — that's what love was, falling into the jaws of fire; a touch a little too long and a smile a little too caring signifies the love that passes through him. his mouth, so far from yours, pressed together: how disgraceful, how the love in his blood disgraces the very grounds of a knights’ duty.

it was forbidden — it wasn't meant to be; ritsu had carved those words on his skin. it was forbidden, yet why have you accepted his love? the least that he wanted to do was to lose your trust — but with you accepting his touches, returning smiles back at him was like offering your bare neck to a famished vampire, like adam and eve upon the forbidden fruit.

“...we can’t. you’re a prince. i’m a knight.” the distance between you was all but a breath away. ritsu knew that you were all doing this just because of the fact that you knew that he liked you, and your kind nature just wanted him to be happy — but that wasn’t the case. he merely steps back for a second, but in the blink of an eye, your hands are on his once again.

“ritsu. you’re sworn to me, remember? i think i’ll be okay if you’re with me. i want this to happen. i want this to work. it’ll be just the two of us, and nobody else has to know.”

your face was stern — serious, something ritsu had never seen before. it puts his heart on wings; to hear those words from you — i will always be by your side. until the last of my days and even in death, he swears upon a silent oath.

someday, we could run away together, just you and me. we could start things over on our own terms.

and yes, it went horribly <3! tome prolly wasn't paying attention as closely as she should've been and got herself surrounded by a crowd. to be clear, that's not Always dangerous, since zombies arent like,, after ur brains in this constantly. but these zombies did look quite hungry, and human or not, she looked like a good meal,,

she had wandered off a bit from mob n ritsu, but mob heard the commotion first. tome has a big fucking baseball bat in this au that she likes to swing around, but a baseball bat can only get u so far in terms of self defense. she thins the horde but there's simply too many of them

mob lets exactly One zombie grab her and yank her toward them before he goes ballistic

watching zombies fight is a lot closer to watching wild animals fight than anything else, and it gets quite horrid sometimes. since their bites aren't rly "dangerous" to each other beyond the typical Oh No a Chunk of Flesh is Gone (not even painful for them, since their nerves r.. less than functional), the fight is a lot more close up and gruesome than a fight against a zombie and a human would be. humans usually back away from zombies immediately and try not to touch them at all in fear of getting bitten; zombies don't need to care abt that

most of the horde realizes that this meal isn't going to be easy and they wander off, but a few more hungry, more desperate ones try to rip into mob's throat at the first sign of defiance. it's not exactly a fair fight; it's like 1 against 4, so he's sorta bound to lose

thankfully ritsu shows up and shoots two of them down (he's Terrified of shooting mob by accident, but either way he'll probably die, so) and tome gets the last one with a good swing to the head. ritsu rushes to mob and is horrified by the amount of blood dripping from his neck and his arm; tome is equally as shocked, but she's mostly thinking, "ive Never seen a zombie defend a human before"

mob's neck is thankfully mostly just scraped up and clawed, but there Is some gruesome punctures where canines sank in and tugged. it's a lot worse along his arm that's bitten and gouged beyond belief. he loses a lot of blood here, but the whole nerves-no-longer-work thing is a blessing in disguise atm; he'd be in a lot of pain otherwise. while ritsu and tome are patching him up w shaky hands he simply glares beyond their shoulders like he thinks he's still in danger, even when they tighten the bandages. it's like he barely notices what they’re doing

his strangely alert behavior makes them think abt the possibility that maybe mob Knows he could've easily been shredded apart there, and he's a little scared and worked up abt it. the only reason he managed to fight as long as he did without dying is prolly bc the other zombies weren't as well-fed as mob—they were kinda weak and shaky from days of no food, but mob has humans taking care of him and keeping him fed 24/7

they're all shaken up by it pretty good.. tome is still reeling from the fact that mob defended her so valiantly, and ritsu is quietly horrified by the idea of another zombie killing mob instead of a human. he doesn't know which is worse

#qktalks #anon #zombie au #this isn't the first time ritsu has had to kill a zombie btw ^ #this is just the first time he's had to kill one since he started seeing zombies in a different light #it was either letting his brother die or killing a zombie. ritsu's upset that he had to make that decision at all #but he's not afraid to say that the decision was incredibly easy to make #it sucks that he had to kill one but . for mob ? literally anything goes #ritsu checked tome over after they took care of mob too. tome's very surprised when he's rly gentle abt it #ritsu's been known to .. lose his head a little in moments of stress #and sometimes he snaps at tome bc of it. he never means to he's just..worked up #but this time he's kinda fretting over her and it opens her eyes a little bit #ritsu has indeed grown to care abt tome a lot. they bicker Most of the time but it's usually not very serious #in all the excitement tome just hadn't rly realized that until now. ritsu is so high-strung that it's hard to get a read on his softer side #but now he's not just directing his softer side to his brother‚ but to tome as well #i have 15 more tags to explain smth i wanna make clear btw let's hope i don't start rambling abt smth else entirely #so i've been using a lot of vocabulary in these au posts that hint toward mob being ''special'' or ''abnormal'' in his behavior #he is not special or abnormal in any way #Every zombie is like that. every zombie has a personality‚ and a gentler demeanor hidden behind that desperate starvation #and remnants of their past selves in there somewhere #mob is simply one of the only zombies that have been taken in and cared for and treated like a sick person rather than a monster #as i've said before most people just.. either run away or shoot them between the eyes when crossing paths with a zombie #they don't give any of them a Chance. mob is a very very lucky zombie. #he is healthier than most other zombies and he is treated far better #and the way ritsu constantly talks to him is actually great for his health ! gets those rusty gears in his head rollin #exercises that brain‚ even if‚ to ritsu‚ he's only responding in odd gibberish #that's only one of the things ritsu gives him that other zombies never receive in their lifetimes #i'd say mob prolly ? has one of the longest ''zombie lifespans'' #most zombies either die of starvation‚ dehydration‚ or sleep deprivation within a few weeks #he's lived a long zombie life !

HELLO ANON SO SORRY for taking forever to respond - i haven't been on tumblr much bc of work and traveling and sleep tired BUT excellent question anon!!!

uhhh. so one day, @zukkaoru and i were sitting together and i was like "it's ritsu time" bc... ritsu kageyama is blorbo i love he what a little silly guy, you know? and grace looked at the time on their phone and was like "7:11? that's ritsu time?" and i went: "... yES!" and hurried to make a post and now we just. do it.

i wish i could tell you more of a why, but it's now just a daily part of my life. we're a couple months away from a year. i have an alarm set for ritsu time.

Opinion on Ritsu confessing and Takano bawling his eyes out and turning into a sobbing mess as he sinks to the floor and puts his face in his eyes within three seconds

Anon I want you to know that I deeply want Takano to cry. That said, Nakamura is a coward so I’m managing my expectations. Personally, I love it. It fits. We deserve it. Realistically, I’ll be happy if Takano just hugs him and doesn’t jump his bones 0.5 seconds later Nakamura I’ll killl you if you even look at this

Also, you’ve got me thinking so definitely don’t imagine Ritsu confessing impulsively (I’ve said this before but if it isn’t impulsive and a parallel to his hs confession I don’t want it) and absolutely freaking the fuck out. The Emotions™ overwhelm him and oh no his eyes are leaking and Takano’s being really still and not saying anything but then before any true bs happens Takano just grabs him and yanks him in and squeezes the life out of him. (I want Takano to hug him so hard and spin him around and I want Ritsu’s feet to leave the floor I think I deserve it okay thanks bye)
