the saddest part in riverdale to me is jughead and tabitha timeloop family. because jughead . he IS generational trauma. he is his dad wanting to not be like his dad. he didn't want to be like his dad. they all wanted to be better for their sons, and then they grew up. and they tried but you have no role models and no resources so even if you are able to get into the best writing program in the country you are still destined to fail because its a cycle and then you become an alcoholic and yell at your girlfriends and are terrible with money BECAUSE YOU DONT KNOW HOW ELSE TO BE and here is this girl and here you are and you fit perfectly and in this moment you break the cycle and you have a family and your kids grow up..... but this is something that can't be real! not in the same way! because she is outside the narrative and you are the narrative and you are the one fighting the narrative and she is the one sewing the narrative together and she is the one trying to make it hurt less and you are both trapped and you will never break the cycle because even breaking the cycle is done in a loop. DO YOU UNDERSTAND???

I am feeling so incredibly disheartened with #Riverdale at the moment.. it has gone from being my favourite show and something that I use to look forward to watching each week to something that just makes me feel sad and incredibly nostalgic. Also, I know fictional characters are suppose to change, develop, etc but.. I just miss #Bughead so darn freaking much…

Betty and Jughead getting together and their friendship dynamic with Archie/Veronica/Jughead/Betty was the reason why I loved watching the show in the first place…

Additionally, unlike the comic books where two women constantly chasing after a ‘perfect’ red haired stallion who craves female attention; I really liked that Roberto took a different approach. In seasons 1-4 Betty got her own story and actually HAD her own identity outside of Archie Andrews.

Betty didn’t get the ‘love’ she had always fantasised about while growing up, but she did find something greater: the love she actually needed in an unlikely place. Also, Jughead Jones did not hold Betty up to unrealistic standards and he loved Betty for exactly who she was. She never had to pretend or censor herself with Jughead. Ever.

cannot believe that baby anthony (the messiah) becomes 18 in the space of a few minutes so now he’s just wandering around as this terrifying baby man all because of his mother’s crazy plot to kill an immortal sorcerer. imagine being like “well yes he missed all his important developmental milestones but at least he got to attempt (but not succeed!) to stab a man”. and then they call him BIG ANTHONY. best show on TV.

riverdale au where the difference is that tabitha is a high schooler. archie is in a love triangle with betty and veronica and jughead's best friend/boss is a high school junior who runs the diner in town. i think it would have improved the show immensely.
