Pondering. Why did the biggest part of the fandom decide one day that Rivka, Zivas mom, was Russian?? (There was a chunk of time when every story mentioned that. As well with calling Eli Uri when we didnt know his name yet)

"And when the camels finished drinking, the man put a gold nose-ring weighing a half-shekel, and two gold bracelets on her hand, weighing ten shekels."
[Bereishit (Genesis), Chayei Sarah, 24:22]
Portrait of the Matriarch Rivka in the style of Vermeer's 'Girl with a Pearl Earring', but emphasizing her nose-ring from the Parsha. Nose-rings have been important jewelry items in Jewish culture since ancient times, especially as markers of beauty and feminity. In the medieval Jewish poem in Even Bokhan, the author Kalonymus described that they would wear a nose-ring if they were a woman, highlighting the nose-ring's role in feminine expression, and also indicating the presence of nose-rings within European diasporic Jewish culture even during the middle ages. While nose-rings as cultural dress aren't seen as much amongst Ashkenazi groups anymore, they are still present among Sephardi and Mizrahi groups.
