So that ask reblog...
4, 14, and 30? 4 feels like a tanjiro+ayame shenanigans while 30 is a perfect zenitsu with anyone. oh and 14 for the boy Inosuke can't forget him, totally can see him stealing clothes from the people he likes.
...if you want to 👉👈
of course i want to, i'm so not normal about fits and the idiots squad that even my best friends are embarrassed to be seen in public with me, considering how much I have both kny and fits on the brain
4. "i don't think either of us are qualified for this but sure, go for it."
Infiltration, as Ayame had mentioned before, was not a strong suit of the Kisatsutai. They were swordsmen and soldiers, first and foremost. They were not shinobi, who were more comfortable hiding behind disguises and fake names; their strengths lay in meeting their adversaries face to face with nothing but their breaths and their swords.
Zenitsu cleared his throat and delicately said, "The gyuus around Tokito-ya are pretty nice. And they never say no to a pretty face."
Ayame struggled not to make a face.
If they wanted a pretty face, Inosuke was ideal, but he wasn't at Tokito-ya with them. Even if he was, he wasn't allowed to speak because his attempts at falsetto were miserable at best - and mortifying at worse.
She drew her eyes to Tanjirou, wordlessly pleading with him. Sumiko had a much friendlier reputation than Ayako. Even if a pretty face wasn't his strong suit, wouldn't he be able to get information just by being earnest? That was why Koinatsu-Oiran had taken to him so easily. It certainly hadn't been anything Ayame had done!
"I can't do it," Ayame said slowly, returning her gaze to Zenitsu, who was looking at her expectantly. "I can't... flirt for information."
Her nose wrinkled. She could barely get the word out of her mouth.
"And," she added, "I don't think the gyuus would know that much. It would make more sense for me to ask the shinzous."
"It would," Zenitsu agreed easily - suspiciously, "but you're not getting very far with them either, ne?"
Damn it. He was right. Getting information from the shinzous wasn't going well; having been raised on Tokito-ya, they were more wary about being loose-lipped around anyone. They were more familiar with how a word spoken carelessly could end a career - and with it, any hope of freedom.
Nonetheless, Ayame found herself turning to Tanjirou with wide eyes. It was obvious what she was asking.
"I can't do it," Tanjirou yelped, cheeks red. "I don't know the first thing about fl - flir - flirt - "
He couldn't even *say* the word. He was far too honest to fake an attraction where there was none.
Zenitsu shrugged. "It was just a suggestion. Maybe we'll get lucky, ne?"
Ayame pursed her lips and shrugged. She knew better than most that luck was rarely on her side.
"If you stare at him any longer, he might combust."
Ayame glanced at Tanjirou as he sidled up to her side. She leaned back around the corner with a sigh.
"But that's the gyuu that hangs around Okami-san and Danna-san the most," she grumbled. She peered up at her partner. "He would know something, wouldn't he?"
"Probably."
They stood in silence for a moment. Zenitsu's ridiculous suggestion swirled in her mind.
"I should probably try," she said suddenly.
"... Yeah." Tanjirou nodded, a frown on his lips. "Of course. For Suma-san."
Right. For Suma-san.
She glanced around the corner again, then shook her head. "I'm not qualified for this."
This being this entire farce of an infiltration. She wasn't a shinobi, and she wasn't trained in getting information out of anyone.
A smile lifted the corners of his lips. "I don't think either of us are qualified for this but sure, go for it."
Ayame scrubbed her face, called up as much courage as she had and squared her shoulders. It was now or never. If it didn't work, then it didn't work. But if it did, then it was for the greater good.
"Wish me luck," she muttered and finally stepped around the corner to approach the gyuu.
She missed the way Tanjirou swallowed nervously, his eyes following her every move as his hand rose to fiddle with an earring.
(It didn't surprise her that she didn't manage to get any usable information. It did surprise Tanjirou - he would have told her everything she needed to hear if she had fluttered her eyelashes at him like that.)
14. "i've been looking for my hoodie-" "my hoodie, you mean."
(modern!au)
Something else crashed to the ground. Inosuke let out a curse, before stomping out of his room and into another once more. He had been doing that for the last half an hour.
Ayame watched him, lifting her mug to her lips to take a sip of her hot tea before replacing it onto the dining table. Zenitsu was lazily watching Inosuke's circuit from the couch, golden eyes trailing after their irate friend.
Tanjirou only looked up from his laptop when Inosuke passed behind his chair for the third time.
"What is it?" he asked, as concerned as ever.
That was exactly what Inosuke was waiting for. He whirled on Tanjirou and declared, "I'm looking for my hoodie - "
"My hoodie, you mean."
At Ayame's interjection, Inosuke scowled and crossed his arms. Tanjirou slowly looked between his friends, his lips twitching.
"The blue one with the seigaiha on the pocket, right?" asked Tanjirou, even though he already knew the answer.
Anyone who knew Inosuke for longer than a week was aware that leaving any of their clothes unattended was just begging to have it stolen from them. He had already stolen a handful of Tanjirou's shirts, not to mention a couple of Zenitsu's cardigans. It was Ayame's fault for leaving her favourite hoodie lying on the sofa.
"Well? Where is it?" Inosuke demanded, finger pointed irately at Ayame's face.
She slurped at her tea loudly.
Then -
"I washed it," she said simply.
"You washed it?" Inosuke repeated, mouth dropping open. "Why?!"
"Inosuke, it was starting to smell. I hadn't washed it in a month when you stole it."
"I didn't steal it." Ayame raised an eyebrow at Inosuke's protest. "And I like it that way! Now, where is it?"
"In the washing machine - "
Inosuke took off running for the laundry room in the basement of their apartment. Ayame was hot on his heels, almost tripping over the mound of shoes that the four of them had failed to put away.
"Inosuke!" she shouted, voice echoing through the halls. "It's wet!"
"It's mine!"
"No, it's my hoodie! You have your own clothes!"
Zenitsu and Tanjirou shared an amused look.
"We should probably go with them," Zenitsu suggested, even as he made no move to leave his comfortable perch. "Before they break something, ne."
Tanjirou hummed, his eyes drifting back down to his notes. "Or," he said slowly, "we could just let them deal with it themselves while we enjoy the peace and quiet?"
They shared another look, then settled down to do their own things. It was just for a couple minutes...
30. "i can hear your heartbeat- why is it going so fast all of a sudden?"
Zenitsu had very good hearing. He knew it, his friends knew it, so they were used to his sudden comments. For example -
"I can hear your heartbeat - why is it going so fast all of a sudden?" he asked, squinting at Ayame-chan.
Ayame-chan jolted from her thoughts, frowning at him. "What? I don't know what you're talking about."
In the silence, Zenitsu focused on his friend. Sure enough, her heartbeat was elevated, drumming rapidly in her chest. he raised his gaze to hers, but her eyes skittered away from his. They wavered, glancing somewhere before settling on something by Zenitsu's ear.
Narrowing his eyes, he followed the path of her momentary glance. Then, an exasperated sigh left his lips. He didn't know why he was surprised.
Tanjirou was speaking to one of the senior Demon Slayers that was in Himejima's station with them. As he watched, Tanjirou laughed once more, his nose scrunching up in a way that even Zenitsu found cute.
The heartbeat next to him spiked once more.
"Seriously?" he asked, somewhat baffled, even though he shouldn't be.
Ayame-chan buried her face in her hands. The tips of her ears were red; he would bet every zeni he had that her face was completely red as well.
A smile tugged at Zenitsu's lips. Ne, Ayame-chan was getting even cuter these days - ever since she could admit that she was in love with Tanjirou.
"You guys," he sighed to himself, "are ridiculous."
Now that Zenitsu was privy to the way Ayame-chan was so effortlessly charmed by Tanjirou, he found himself tuning into the way their heartbeats reacted when they were around each other. He couldn't help but notice that Ayame-chan's heartbeat spiked whenever Tanjirou laughed - but not when he smiled. When his boulder-brained friend turned to Ayame-chan with the corners of his lips curled upwards, her heartbeat seemed to settle and a sweet tinkling sound of a higher-toned major chord would play in her sound.
It was so sweet that his teeth gnashed together. And they still had the audacity to not be together. He was going to scream.
He was so distracted by Ayame-chan's sudden spiking heartbeats that he almost completely missed Tanjirou's reaction.
It wasn't as obvious as Ayame-chan's. Rather than a sudden elevation followed by a serene drop, his heart rate quickened whenever Ayame-chan was nearby. Sometimes, the only way he realised Ayame-chan was near was when Tanjirou's heartbeat steadily accelerated until it was a steady drumming that was uncharacteristic of how languid his heartbeat usually was.
When Zenitsu noticed it the first time, his mouth dropped open in outrage. He was silent as he saw the way Tanjirou's eyes immediately sought out Ayame-chan - it didn't matter if she was speaking to someone else, or if she was looking for them. It was such a subtle thing; it was the sun beating down on you, relentless and gentle.
Gods. It wasn't just one single thing that Tanjirou found charming about Ayame-chan. He was just so hopelessly enamoured with her all the time that his heartbeat was always a little faster in her presence.
This, Zenitsu eventually realised, was the sound of love.
Yeah, he was definitely going to scream.
"Nezuko-chan, look out!"
Despite the ache in his legs, he crossed the distance between himself and Nezuko-chan with a breath. He pulled her small body close, spinning them around so the falling branch didn't so much as graze her. The panic on his tongue was a familiar sensation that he had almost forgotten in the year of peace they had experienced.
His heartbeat was roaring in his ears, almost drowning out Ayame's and Tanjirou's panicked shouts. The couple were quickly dropping whatever was in their hands as they quickly approached Zenitsu and Nezuko-chan. He couldn't understand a word of what they were saying.
Instead, he looked down at Nezuko-chan. Her dark pink eyes were wide, her lips still parted in shock.
Zenitsu glanced over his shoulder, almost sick at how large the branch was. It wouldn't have killed her, but it was still big enough that it would have injured her pretty badly.
"Are," he said through a dry mouth, "okay, Nezuko-chan?"
Nezuko-chan blinked, her eyes finding his. Pink dusted her cheeks as she nodded slowly.
Tanjirou sighed, raking his fingers through his hair. "Thank the gods Zenitsu was here."
"Yeah," Nezuko-chan said quietly. Then, her eyes widened. "But Zenitsu-san - you're hurt!"
Eh?
Now that the adrenaline had passed, Zenitsu realised that his arm was aching and stinging. When he finally looked at his right arm, he nearly swooned at the blood welling up from the scratches on his arm, his sleeve torn.
"That's - ah - A - Ayame!" he whimpered.
"Honestly," Ayame muttered, a fondly exasperated smirk on her lips. "You're ridiculous, Zenitsu. Come on, let's go sit down. I'll see if I can rustle up a first-aid kit somewhere."
Nezuko-chan held Zenitsu up, laughing under her breath. The sound sank into Zenitsu's soul, keeping his heart light and full as they wobbled over to a raised wall. He sat down heavily, calmed by Nezuko-chan's warmth as she fussed over his injured arm.
Now that he wasn't panicking, the pain in his arm really wasn't that bad. He had gotten much worse injuries before; it was just the suddenness that had caught him off-guard.
The roaring in his ears subsided, but there was still a hummingbird heartbeat in his ears.
It took him a moment to realise that it was coming from Nezuko-chan. Even though the danger had passed, her heartbeat was still rapidly drumming in her chest.
And she was looking right at him.

In 2013, after the funeral of her daughter, Cecelia moves to New York City.
For one year, Cecelia Holmes becomes almost impossible to reach. However, for the sake of her daughter, she gives up drinking; she starts therapy; she even begins writing the novel she always planned to.
In 2015, she accepts a job at American Vogue as a freelance fashion editor, and slowly but surely makes her way back into society. She dates a politician with his sight set on the presidency, followed by a New York University psychology professor who had very recently left her husband of forty years and come out as gay (the two still keep in touch, but they eventually broke up due to the professors wish to mess around with her newfound freedom).
Much like many Brits before her, she begins a new life in America.
However, in 2017, her father invites her out for dinner in the city. It’s not entirely unusual. Out of all his children, Morland Holmes is closest with his daughter. Cee knows though, from the outset, that it was a business meeting. The popular 5-star restaurant being completely empty on a Friday night was enough.
Morland states his intentions clearly; his sons have no desire to join the family business. That leaves him with two options; hand the business to someone outside of the family, or begin to prepare Cecelia for the role of CEO of Holmes International Consultants.
He does however also make clear that if he believed Celia was incapable of the work, he would not be making this offer. Out of his three children, her resilience, persistence, and ambition has impressed him the most.
Although not strictly evil, the organisation Morland runs prides itself on being able to solve any problem for any client. These clients include governments, businessmen, and criminals. Through methods such as bribes, blackmail, and well places contacts, Holmes International Consultants retains its God-like power.
Despite her own reservations, and Sherlock’s please to decline the job, Celia accepts her father’s offer and leaves Vogue in early 2018.
Her first job is to create contacts within the Chinese government and spends the majority of 2019 and 2020 in Hong Kong. She then returns to London, mission accomplished and shadows her father until 2021 when she is announced as the new CEO of Holmes International Consultants.
In 2022, Celia begins her greatest endeavor. Using some of the greatest minds in the world, Celia begins to design a computer system that is used for the social engineering of whole populations. The machine will nalyze the patterns of history, as well government and online information, and chart a course for the future. In the beginning, it’s simply used to predict things like stock market changes, terrorist threats, worldwide recessions, and election results. The system is soon so powerful that Cee is able to threaten the president of Brazil to bring down his government and to talk with the president’s replacements within 6 weeks. Every company in the near future will need the computer’s assistance for their business.
Cee names the machine “Eurus” after her father’s sister, who died young but had an unexplained ability to know when it was about to rain.
In 2023, Celia wants to take Eurus further. Currently, the system works on the basis of information > output. Cee wants to be able to feed desired outcomes into the computer and for it to output the step-by-step process on how to achieve it. It’s an ambitious goal and begins to overstep the line as to where a stable world begins and personal freedom ends.

It is a serious lack of respect to me that they have released a funko for absolutely every character in the RLD arc except Gyutaro 🤌🏻
Tumblr media
My heart is broken and disappointed, I really hope they release one for him in the future 💔

So I am finally writing the coprotag Nezuko outline
Nezuko is fully self aware when she wakes from her long nap, during Tanjirou´s training. She has vague memories of her family but remembers everything since she became a demon. She meets Urokodaki and he explains the details of her and her brother´s situation. While waiting for Tanjirou to return she and Urokodaki experiment with her condition (they quickly figure out that she regains her energy by sleeping and that while she can eat normal human food, she gains almost nothing by doing so). Urokodaki also makes her a mask.
Afterwards the plot mostly follows cannon, expect more brother sister interaction, until Tamayo. Nezuko starts learning about her condition from Tamayo (and basics of hand to hand from Yushiro) and even borrows a medical textbook in hopes of better understanding how her demonic body works.
Let´s just say that Zenitsu and Inosuke won´t leave exactly best impressions during their first meeting, but they grow on her eventually.
In the spider forest I consider having her face against the spider sister, but the fight against Rui goes the same it does in cannon. The trial mostly follows cannon as well, with the major change being Nezuko ranting at the Hashira the whole time (especially Saneimi). While the 3 stooges recover Nezuko starts practicing swordfighting (but not breathing techniques yet), so she can pick up the slack if Tanjirou is downed.
Train arc goes more or less according to cannon (sorry Rengoku).
During rld Nezuko still goes berserk, Tanjirou still has to stop her, but she regains sense much quicker (basically immediately after Tanjirou starts to hold her). Then she interrupts Gyutaro during his talk with Tanjirou (and even copies his ranged blood attacks with her exploding blood and Tanjirou´s sword). Gyutoro taunts her that she doesn´t have the energy to protect her brother because she doesn´t eat people.
Swordsmith village is a more Nezuko centric arc, with this being the first time she interacts with a larger amount of regular humans who are aware of her conditions and her parallels to Genya. And on the topic of Genya, she actually teaches him how better exploit his abilities, while he teaches her repetitive action. After she gains immunity to the sun, she might at first think she died and that´s why she can suddenly walk in the sun.
During the pillar training arc she might finally start learning a breathing style and continues helping Genya train.
During infinity fortress she helps in the Kokushibou fight and helps mitigate the causalities in that fight (Genya lives!). She might end up joining Muzan fight as well (demon Tanjirou vs demon Nezuko), but I also had the idea of Sanemi stabbing her with the cure, because preventing Muzan from getting his hands on her takes priority. Ending will be mostly the same as in cannon maybe some additional characters survive.
On the topic of Zenitsu, I don´t think Nezuko would be willing to enter a relationship, while she is still a demon, but with her being aware, there might be more chemistry between them.
Also there might be alternate infinity fortress fights such as Mituri and Obanai fighting Akaza and Giyu joining Douma fight.
I love it! I'll have notes below the cut!
Nezuko getting an extra grandpa in Urokodaki while they experiment with her wonky biology, we love to see it!
Tamayo sees this child, and you know she's confused af. She needed a minute to process. But I definitely love the idea of her giving Nezuko some notes to work with!
Nezuko, looking from her brother to the pair of wack-o's he unintentionally adopted: Really?
Hear me out. Nezuko initially squares up on the sister, but her Tanjirou's in Deep S*** Senses start tingling. Rui thinks he's won, only to get dive bombed by a protective demon sister.
Sanemi is gonna need a minute to process, and some aloe for the burns Nezuko dished out. And she definitely cussed at at least one Hashira.
Rest in Peace, Rengoku Kyojurou!
Yes! Demon Sibling Square Up!
Not Evil Demon Sibling Tag Team! The demons are in trouble!
Heck, yeah!
Yay! Genya lives! Why do I see Sanemi waking up post-Kokushibo, and looking at Nezuko for a minute, confusing everyone? Then he pulls a syringe out of no one knows where and does not hesitate to ram it into her shoulder. 'Cause it took a good few hours to work in canon, iirc. So imagine she and DKT turn back at the exact same time.
This gives them time to actually establish a relationship! Early days definitely featured some good ol' fashioned suplexing.
Ooh! Fun!

Will your Sanemi babysitter fic happen during the red light district arc since they’ll be gone so long? What’s the timeline if you’ve planned one
no! this fic doesn’t directly follow canon, it’s just a random powerful demon, maybe part of the lower moons. i don’t know if I’ll ever get to the red light district arc (probably will), but I plan on reader being heavily pregnant while that’s going on. the main story rn is happening a couple years before the rld arc.

my thoughts on canon Akaza
(Will have manga spoilers!)
He’s basically perfect. No joke. I can rag on literally everything else about KNY, but when it comes to Akaza and how his characterization was executed in the story? I really cannot find any fault at all, except maybe that he might have been a little too overpowered, but I’ll go over that later.
People love to talk about his backstory as a human, and yeah, it does pretty much encapsulate all the things that made this manga so good in the first place. The beauty of love both familial and romantic, the harsh way it was taken from him simply because of someone else’s jealousy. He wasn’t punished, he was merely unlucky, and his motivation to becoming a Demon completely aligns with how he felt at his lowest point; what point is there to care any more? If he can’t be strong, he doesn’t deserve to love, and be loved in return. The world treats him as a monster, so he might as well lean into those perceptions completely.
But, his actions as a Demon and in the story are handled so well, too. He serves as the formal introduction to the pure power the Upper Moons possess. He causes one of the biggest casualties in the series. The way he explodes into the scene in the manga, or walks out from the mist in the anime, are moments that would be seared into my brain forever, its just so iconic and drastically shifts the tone from the scene prior, where it feels our heroes have won. It’s just so damn good, Mugen Train is already pretty nice already but the way Akaza was dropped in instantly makes this arc one of my favorites, and personally what I think is one of the best in the story (screw RLD and Swordsmith Village, Mugen Train is the best arc and that is a hill I will die on).
Then, there is the follow up in Infinity Fortress. In theory, it’s once again a fucking amazing concept, this idea that Tanjirou would finally avenge Kyojuro after seeing what Akaza had done to him so long ago. In practice? I wouldn’t say it’s poorly done, but it’s like, okay.
This fight is where we actually see how truly powerful Akaza is, however, I always thought he was a bit too powerful for Tanjirou and Giyuu to realistically handle. The two literally can’t find any weakness to exploit because of his compass ability, and it’s not like they were throwing crap around to mess with it either. The way the Anatta state had to be used to defeat him is like so cringe too, because this concept wasn’t ever brought up prior to this battle. It was just thrown in there, and not really touched on afterwards either, except as a way for Akaza to reconsider what he was trying to pursue as a Demon. Would have been better if it was never brought up in the first place.
But yeah, overall, Akaza is fucking fantastic writing-wise. It’s a shame that the series doesn’t handle its other characters as well as it did for him, though.

Hey! I love your blog :)
Can you go into detail about why Nezuko is your favorite character?
oohhh. ive been, enabled.
Ty anon
Tumblr media
Just to begin, nezukos design already checks a lot of boxes for me:
- multi colored hair
- purple/pink/orange/red color scheme (she looks like a sunset :])
- The long socks/legs wraps (idk the correct term sry)
- Fangs and claws and cat eyes >:3c
- Star-like pattern on her kimono
I also really like her voice. (Tho I Adore all the voice acting in kny. It never misses) I think Akari Kito does a really good job at differentiating her human and demon mannerisms, even if most of the time it’s just conveyed through muffled hums and grunts. She does an amazing job where it really counts ESPECIALLY especially especially in ep 7 season 2. Not to fangirl but Oh my god I don’t think I’ve ever anticipated anything more in my life. You have No idea how excited I was for the ep to drop. Every week I was just counting down the eps, trying to predict what weekend it release. And it was so worth the wait. It was. SO GOOD. The animation was amazing, the score never missed a beat (i already have a whole ramble talking abt the ost in that one scene), and the voice acting was perfect on all ends. I will always love how Akari Kito lowered her voice to better fit the berserker nezuko persona. I love how ufotable added these nice little details that helped each scene transition so nicely. The sound design was so good. Words cant describe how much adrenaline was running through my body while watching all that! And I know that sounds weird, being that excited abt a single ep, but I had been waiting for that for years dude. And, the idea that it would drop almost didn’t seem real. Nezuko vs Daki is probably one of my favorite fights in the series! From the initial reveal to when nezuko falls asleep, I adore the way it develops nezuko and tackles the issues around being a demon that I was hoping would be addressed! How despite her initial intentions, strong emotions can block out reason and thought, and cause yourself to become blindsided from logic. And in this case, it let’s her demonic tendencies take control. It’s. SO INTERESTING AHH.
Tumblr media
and while i love all that potential for her character set up that ep, i don’t like how berserker Nezuko was handled later. As in how after the RLD arc, berserker nezuko is not really addressed again despite what almost happened. And when she does come back she’s perfectly fine and in complete control and tanjiro doesn’t seem worried at all despite the fact that the last time he saw his sister like that he had to restrain her from trying to eat someone. But never mind that, I don't want to be bitter. My point is that I really really like that ep and what it sets up for nezukos character (even if what was set up was not acted upon as much as I hoped it would be later) and it will always have a special place in my heart.
And on the topic of fights, I also think her fighting style is super cool and fun to watch (and this is aided by the beautiful animation). It helps her stand out from the rest of the cast in which a majority fight with swords. And, I also think her not talking is an important character trait.  Because with a main cast of 4, 3 of which are all varying levels of loud, having nezuko not talk helps her stand out in a group that is constantly yelling. And all of this holds up for me despite having an au entirely focused on if she could talk. that is purely for my self indulgence <:D.
Ok so. Want to address something that is always kinda a constant “Elephant in the Room” for me because, as a character in the story of kny, if I’m being honest with myself, most of my interest in nezuko doesn’t come from the actual story we’re given. Hell, my favorite dynamic is the nezuko and makomo friendship we see in the side series and it’s not even canon nor ever could be :,) (read kimetsu academy). Dont get me wrong tho, i get so happy any time i see nezuko. i cant think of a moment in the series where i wasn't happy to see her on screen. But, compared to other characters, especially as secondary main character, her development is harder to follow. That doesn’t mean there isn’t any tho, she’s just kinda, sidelined. And since she doesn’t speak, it means development she does get isn’t spoken, which I think is both consistent with her character while also being sort of a detriment.
Ok so, initially this next section was a 5+ paragraph ramble that I decided was too negative to keep in and could honestly be it’s own post. and on top of all that was. kinda hard to follow. I don’t want this to be a critique of the series, I want it to be abt why I like it :D. So to put this short a sweet, a lot of questions i had weren’t given a lot of attention. Or, weren’t always handled amazingly <:). i.e Berserker Nezuko.  because the thing is, Nezukos story has a really really intriguing beginning. You're left there asking so many questions. Is nezuko going to be able to stay in control of herself? How is she going to ensure that? Can she talk without the muzzle? How is Tanjiro going to handle not being able to interact with his sister? How is she going to react to other people? How are they going to turn her human? Does she need to eat? Does she remember what happened to her family?
So asking all this, a lot of my thoughts are more inspired by what could have been, or trying to interpret or expand on moments we are given. And, fun fact, on the side Ive actually been taking the time to write out and reason why nezuko is the way she is because I’m. Just like that I guess! Not everything needs an answer, but I like to try and connect dots where I can and come up with an answer myself. Cuz something I always address when talking abt nezuko was how underutilized she was. And while just spatting a doc full of head-cannon info is one thing, (which will probably never see the light of day because. My god that thing is a transcription directly from my under stimulated school brain and is therefore incomprehensible) it’s more fun to think abt this info being conveyed through the story. And on that note, here are a few plot points that the series sets up that I think could have been neat and given Nezuko more meaningful screen time!
- more talk with Tamayo and demon biology. I think it’s super interesting and could lead to some interesting conversation and an explanation for beserker Nezuko. (Because if I’m genuinely bitter abt anything it’s the beserker nezuko plot line). I also like Tamayo and sad we didn’t get see her that much. Tanjiro is the Concerned Older Brother I and I feel he would have questions to ask, especially after the RDL arc.
Tumblr media
- More downtime focus between her and tanjiro. (This is a Big one for me I think abt it A Lot). We get hints of it like after Mugen Train and I think could have been really interesting to see how the two communicate despite their circumstances. we also get a bit between them in the side stories with that flower short and i literally cried when i read that. :’) i want more content of them so badly
- A nezuko arc that covers the time when tanjiro and the rest of the gang are recovering from the events of the entertainment district. I wanna know what was she up to! (I do have wip a comic written and sketched abt this exact question but. Motivation is a bitch </3)
Tumblr media
- Nezuko and zenitsu. I’m so sad the anime cut what little bit we had in the manga I wanna see them hanging out in a flower field being friends. It would make their end game seem more, natural, seeing we don’t get a lot of content about them vibing sunrise countdown.  - More interaction with the pillars. Maybe not with nezuko specifically but I just want more pillar content outside of battle, maybe with some focus on the enigma that is Nezuko. how having a demon in the corps affects their moral codes a whatnot.
- I wanna see Inosuke and Nezuko fight together. I feel their fighting styles would complement each other well
- NEZUKO AND GENYA. The two foils should have been allowed to interact together after the swordsmith village. It could give Nezuko an opportunity to talk more now that she can. I feel nezuko and Genya are really similar not just in abilities (and yknow. Being foils and all) but personality. It could be an opportunity for her to finally share how she feels about being a demon with someone who also knows how it feels. There’s. SO much potential ough.
Tumblr media
(i would expand on these ideas myself in this post but my brain does not organize like that so </3. i love to think abt nezuko as a character A Lot, but putting those thoughts down in a coherent manner takes a lot of effort for me, so if i ever do they would be their own posts.)
but either way, I go crazy when people make Nezuko content especially around concepts like these. they are so much fun to interact with. But. Yeah, Nezuko gets side lined a lot in kny, and despite that she’s still my fav because she had so much potential. But kny is a shorter series with not a lot of in-between fluff, especially in the later chapters, so ofc not everything would have time to be addressed. I just think it’s fun to, instead of being upset at this, just make what I wanted to see, and look for content by others to see how they interpret the character. Because people have such good ideas. there are a lot of cool people in this fandom and I’m happy to be apart of it :D

Random rambling
I know what most people think about RLD arc (that it was uneventful, almost plotless, being Tengen not SO STRONG) BUT can we focus on the Kamaboko Squad for a moment? The four of them literally KILLED the Arc. Nezuko with her strenght and full demon form, Inosuke and Zenitsu with their determination, technique and durability throughout the battle. Don’t even get me started on feral Tanjiro and the first time we saw a slayer getting THE MARK. The way the trio joined forces and cooperate to attack Daki and Gyutaro at the same time was SO DAMN FLASHY! I’m so proud of what they did back there

further notes on canon divergent Nezuko
~ For the first 2 years of canon, when Tanjirou is training under Urokodaki, Nezuko sleeps. She prioritizes suppressing her urges for human flesh, beginning to put her energy into sleeping. However, when Urokodaki tries to hypnotize her into seeing humans as her family members, it backfires.
~ Instead, the memories of her family overwhelm her. She's forced to confront their murder, that horrible day, in her dreams. It almost consumes her, until a strange man with her brother's earrings comes to her and gives her the idea to burn through it all.
~ A day after Tanjirou leaves for Final Selection, Nezuko awakens. But she's really awake... Aware. She's horrified she slept for so long, that she had become such a creature. Urokodaki didn't expect her to awaken mentally, and is a little shaken that Nezuko was aware.
~ Stubborn as ever, Nezuko insists he teach her how to fight while Tanjirou is gone. Her determination allows her to learn proper defense, no longer resorting to kicking and scratching like an animal.
~ After passing her own Final Selection secretly before Oyakata-sama, refusing blood, she's given the approval to accompany Tanjirou on his demon slaying missions. Urokodaki gives her a warding kitsune mask just like Tanjirou's, but it's got carvings of her hemp flowers and vines to replace the sun mark Tanjirou's has.
~ Tanjirou is both exhilarated and upset that Nezuko has awakened, because now she's going to fight beside him... He can't just keep her cooped up in a box or in the protection of Tamayo or Urokodaki for her survival. Her stubbornness wins out, every time.
~ Nezuko's speech is impaired still. Some days, the anxiety and PTSD of the night her family died overtakes her, and she goes mute.
~ Her mask used to cover her entire face. However, when fighting Rui, half of it gets broken off. Urokodaki instead fixes the mask to be a half-mouth cover.
~ Her Advanced Demon form in the RLD and Swordsmith arcs more closely resembles a kitsune, with whipping nine tails and fur covering her extremities.

Thanks to this Dragon Ball talk, I came with ideas thanks to y’all.
Nezuko is a mix of Oni and Nobusuma yokai. She has a human form, but can transform at will. Similar to her demon form at RLD arc. (I haven’t decided if she would be half demon and from Kie or Tanjuro yet).
She can fly, but she can also sprout wings like a bat.
In her demon form, her voice is deep and monstrous.
When she is the angriest, she will drink her enemies blood.
Her ki blasts resemble to fire breathing.
She loves taunting Trunks ( @hopefromadoomedtimeline ) and remind everyone in Super Hero timeline that she used to beat him up.
When dating Goten ( @fourwish ), she would pretty much let Goten do whatever he wants simply because he’s attractive, contrast to ChiChi and Goku’s relationship.
She will object to Beerus to destroying Earth, but persuade him to destroy schools or expensive stores where she can steal the non-damage stuff inside (she is a hell demon after all).
She idolizes 18.
I know Krillin attempted to arrest her and Inosuke at least once.
She would dress up Pan in similar goth/punk clothes like her personal mini-me.
Do not let her use the Dragon Balls for the sake of the world.

kny and 5, 15, 16?
5. The character who gives me the greatest gender envy
douma and kokushibo... being evil and/or fucked up is an essential thing for me to envy a character's gender
15. A character/story arc that bores me to tears
the entertainment arc final fight in the manga is so painful to read ToT it's a good arc but the fight drags on for so long, with too many new techniques and twists introduced along the way. i have similar issues with the kokushibo and sunrise countdown fight as well. the anime rld fight is amazing though
16. A scene/moment that makes me really emotional every single time
senjuro saying he's giving up swordsmanship to help people in other ways... kokushibo asking yoriichi why he was born... genya's flashbacks. the family relationships in this series ruin me

Going off of that ask about Zenitsu immediately screaming for Tanjirou as he woke up after the RLD arc — same tho!!! I think it’s really endearing, Zenitsu sounds so much like a child in that moment. (Lowkey reminded me of Daki initially being really badass but screaming for her big brother Gyutaro when she couldn’t handle it anymore…)
I just think it’s super adorable how Tanjirou’s kind of like a big brother figure for Zenitsu!!!!! And plus, it’s probably the first time Zen has had someone like that — yes Jigoro was ultimately supportive and wise but was also extremely harsh, and Kaigaku was…..Kaigaku. Tanjirou’s the first person to treat Zenitsu with gentleness/patience while also encouraging him to grow as a person. AND I THINK THATS SO SWEET UGH.
YES i always think about how lucky zenitsu was to meet tanjiro who is so kind and always help him in many ways especially since he was always getting looked down or cheated on 😭  like u said it’s probably the first time he had someone like this ~

Attention Demon Slayer Fans!
Hey, y'all! I am here to rant about one of the worst takes I've seen on Demon Slayer!
Muzan is intentionally sending gradually more powerful demons Tanjirou's way, and hasn't learned to just yeet Kokushibou or Douma at the kid.
If you don't want to read me being ticked at the fools who say this, move along now.
Uh... No, he f-ing isn't? Muzan specifically and intentionally sent a grand total of 4 demons after Tanjirou. Out of the 12(13 if you consider Daki and Gyutarou separate units, and *math noises* 18 if you count all the Hantengu clones as separate units) demons Tanjirou fights before the Infinity Castle Arc. That isn't even half of the demons he fought on-screen! It's a quarter or a third, at most! And again, these are all the demons he faces on-screen!
Demons Muzan sent specifically to go after Tanjirou: Susamaru and Yahaba, Enmu, and Akaza.
List of Demons Tanjirou just happened to come across: Temple Demon, Hand Demon, Swamp Demon, Kyogai, Rui, Akaza if he wasn't sent after Tanjirou, the one demon he fought in episode 1 of the RLD Arc, Gyutarou and Daki, Hantengu.
AKA Tanjirou's just accidentally stumbling across the vast majority of the demons he fights, and those demons happen to be getting gradually more powerful. Muzan didn't even know Tanjirou was in Yoshiwara or the Swordsmith's Village! He just happened to be there! Hell, Muzan did try to do the smart thing by sending Akaza after Enmu got killed! And also by amping up Enmu with more blood and sending him after Tanjirou when Rui was killed! Muzan just didn't think to account for training and Kamado stubbornness! So that failed, and Muzan lost Tanjirou after Enmu died and Akaza bolted because he no longer had a sentient GPS on Tanjirou! Which brings me to another point!
"If Tanjirou keeps killing the powerful demons, why doesn't Muzan just send Kokushibou or Douma?"
Muzan doesn't know where Tanjirou is once his demons are dead! He has little to no way of knowing how much longer Tanjirou will be in an area for, so why send one of his heavy hitters if the guy he's sending them to isn't even there! Especially cuz Douma's running a cult, and it's be awkward if he just poofed him elsewhere in the middle of a thing. Kokushibou's doing dick knows what, but he's just as likely to have a freakout as Muzan is. And Nakime's Blood Demon Art doesn't work in sunlight! Even if it did, the more powerful demon he sent to kill Tanjirou and capture Nezuko after the Swordsmith Village Arc would be a crispy pile of ashes in about 2 seconds(probably less)!
And in the RLD Arc? He clearly assumed Gyutarou was competent enough to handle the situation and Daki had managed to soften Tanjirou up enough to make it easy for Gyutarou to kill him. If not for there being other Slayers(specifically, Tengen, who is a Hashira for a reason and therefore highly skilled and competent) in the fight, Tanjirou would have been dead. Hell, maybe Muzan did think Tanjirou was dead post-RLD. And then the mf shows up in the Swordsmith Village, terrorizing Muzan's cells, and the man was probably cussing up a storm the whole time!
These are the in-universe explanations! Out of universe, Tanjirou is the protagonist and needs to get stronger to face stronger demons. Basic shounen logic(even if the plot armour isn't as bad as some people make it out to be). But anyone who says Muzan intentionally sent five different(and gradually more powerful) ranks of the Twelve Kizuki after Tanjirou is spitting BS.
Remember, we as the viewers have a degree of omniscience. We know where Tanjirou is in relation to these demons. Muzan does not. Therefore, we cannot expect him to act the way we would with our omniscience.
