Asked 3x05/06 director Rachel Raimist how they continue filming without her being on set (she’s currently in Covid timeout ), and this was her answer.

RNM Executive Producer Lance Anderson (also directed 3x1/02, 2x02, 1x10, 1x04 and 1x02) took over and keeps the cameras rolling until Rachel can hopefully return to set eventually. 👏

Poor Rachel, the 3x05/3x06 director’s come in close contact with someone who tested positive for Covid19. She’s no longer on set, instead she’s quarantining at home for two weeks, and monitors everything from there. Filming continues uninterrupted tho. Fingers crossed Rachel (and everyone else) stays healthy, and she can return to set at the tail end of her directing stint. 🤞

Cast & crew are back in Santa Fe to continue filming 3x05/06!

That’s a wrap on filming in 2020! 🎉🎉🎉

(I asked, and Everett - who’s doing special effects for the show - confirmed that the crew’s on Holiday break now, meaning there won’t be any more filming happening next week, and they’ll continue to film 3x05/06 in January).

Nonnie, they only started filming 3x05/06 for good this week, depending on when the Christmas break starts next week, they have 2-4 days of filming left this year. Which means that most of either episode hasn’t been filmed yet.

And just because two episodes are filmed by the same director doesn’t mean they are connected like a double episode. 

Filming will resume in January, plenty of time for Tyler to return to Santa Fe and film scenes. Imo he might miss one, but not both episodes in a row (would be harder to explain plot-wise). There’s really no reason to be upset about this yet. 

Come and join us, nonnie, lean back, relax, enjoy all the Vlamburn content, and we’ll worry about what might happen on the show next year. We’ve all earned a break from worrying. ❤️❤️❤️

They’ll film the larger chunk of 3x05/06 in January, I wouldn’t rule it out that Tyler’s still in both episodes. I think he’ll miss one of them tho (like you I think it’s probably 3x05), but not both. Also kinda hope that he’s already missed one earlier ep and we have 2 out of 3 Alex-less episodes “out of the way” after 3x05.

Also YES to everything else you said! 

Tyler and Kurt are at Enchantment Resort in Arizona,  roughly 6hrs (by car) from Santa Fe, about 8hrs from LA, meaning it’s possible that he’s done filming for this year and Kurt came to Santa Fe to keep him company on the drive back home.

They won’t finish filming 3x05/06 before Christmas tho, so Tyler leaving a week early’s not necessarily an indication that Alex won’t be in one (or both)  episodes. 

From Christian’s IG stories on 12/11, the location he’s tagged (Wally’s) is a liquor store with shops/restaurants in Santa Monica and Beverly Hills (both Los Angeles area). 

That probably means Christian’s currently NOT in Santa Fe. Since they likely won’t wrap 3x05/06 until Christmas, he could still return to New Mexico to film scenes for either or both episodes in January tho.

3x05/06 is a go!

No episode titles, but writers revealed. Episode 3x05′s been written by Alanna Bennett (2x05 & 2x09) and Danny Tolli (2x07 & 2x12), and episode 3x06′s been written by Leah Longoria (new writer) and Steve Stringer (co-wrote 1x12 & 2x04 with Chris Hollier, also wrote 2x09)

Looks like they still haven’t wrapped 3x04 and only occasionally get in some scenes for 3x05/06. That also means they definitely won’t be able to finish filming 3x05/06 before the Christmas break.
