He was honored with the Koko foundation scholarship for Outstanding talent through the completion of his HND degree as well as the overall best student of painting in 2009. He has been a full-time studio artist, with an appearance recognition as an Emerging artist in 2015 at the annual October rain exhibition of the Society of Nigeria Artist, Lagos Chapter. Several of his works have been featured in group exhibitions and collected by notable galleries and collectors both in Nigeria and abroad. Imagine you're traveling along a smooth, well-maintained highway, where every so often, you come across a dirt road exit. From the perspective of someone driving on the highway, these exits might seem hazardous and confusing. Why would anyone choose to take such a risky path when the highway appears to be the best route?

However, for those who can elevate their perspective, looking down on the landscape from above, the truth becomes clear. The dirt road exits are merely short detours, leading to a stunning city filled with opportunities and wonders. Meanwhile, the seemingly perfect highway is revealed to be a circular route that never really goes anywhere.

In this metaphor, the highway represents the conventional path many people follow in life, sticking to what seems safe and predictable. The dirt road exits symbolize the willingness to step off the beaten path, explore the unknown, and take risks in the pursuit of personal growth and higher consciousness. By gaining a broader perspective, we can appreciate the value of these detours and understand that our true potential lies beyond the familiar, endless loop of the highway.

Hey, yes it’s me MrBlack! I’ve been meaning to make a post dedicated to everyone who reps my art and all the amazing folk that follow me here on IG. With out y’all, with out my community I couldn’t do what I do. So Huge thanks for all your support and believing in me & my art! If you just found my work and or have been following me on this crazy art journey. Here’s a bit about my path as an artist. I chose art as my life path when I turned 25, while traveling in southern Japan. Graduating jc in 2010, I then moved to the Bay Area. To poor for art collage & not wanting to be in debt all my life for painting, I then found myself working from home. Through many life trials I finally settled in downtown Oakland. Working a 9-5 job in SF and putting in hrs in my art studio at night. 7 yrs later, Covid happened and like a lot of ppl, I then lost my jab, house, relationship, studio and had to move from the bay. But! It was the push/transition I needed to try n hustle art 24/7. Now, I see myself as a traveling artist and feel so thankful everyday I Get to wake up & do what I’ve been working towards for longtime!
