Robin was never one to go to parties. They tended to stress her out, the constant pressure to keep up conversations weighing too much on her. She hated the way Steve insisted on her going to parties with him. There, he was in his element, while Robin felt as though she was sticking out like a sore thumb. She was never meant to be at parties like this, and it weighed on her every time she was at one.
Luckily for Robin, she’d quickly convinced you, her girlfriend, to come with her. Her original intentions when attending parties was to be Steve’s wing-woman, which she quickly found out was very unneeded. She always ended up standing around, alone, with nothing to do. Why waste her time standing around when she can have you with her? She would rather be with you, blunt in hand, than by herself, unsure what to do.
A blunt hung loosely from your lips, smoke clouded around your head. You could feel yourself slowly unraveling. Robin was right next to you, her shoulder pressed right up against yours. Part of her weight was leaned up against you, the rest of her weight supported by the wall behind you. Her thin fingers grabbed the blunt from your lips, bringing it to her own plump ones, inhaling deeply.
You found your eyes staring at her lips. They’re perfect; everything from the shape and the color, and especially the way they fit against yours. You’d gotten a little lost in your daze, not aware of the fact that Robin was staring back at you, eyes glossed over. She recognized that look immediately - the way you absentmindedly stared at her lips told her everything she needed to know. One ringed hand found its way to your waist, the other holding the blunt. A few things ran through her mind, including a wondering thought about whether Steve’s car was unlocked or not.
Robin was determined regardless. She dragged you through the living room and out the front door, right into the brisk night air. You stumbled down the stairs of the porch behind her. A few people were standing outside, one lucky boy receiving the half smoked blunt she passed to him. You crossed the street together, her eyes staring down Steve’s car as they finally approached it. The back seats were out of view from the house, and lucky for the two of you, he left it completely unlocked.
That’s how you found yourself in the back of his BMW, shirt off and skirt flipped. You were straddling Robin’s waist, your hands gripping the headrest behind her to steady yourself properly. You didn’t know she was packing until now, a long dildo suctioned to a strap tucked perfectly in her jeans. It since has been untucked, pressing against your tummy. Your lips had finally made their way to hers, one of your hands moving to her hair. Your fingers tangled into her locks, your mouths sloppily moving against each other.
The car became about as foggy as your mind was quickly. Robins hands were on your waist, and it made you dizzy. Her touch was intoxicating. She fumbled with your panties for a second, somehow struggling to tug them off. She opted to just push them to the side. Slowly, her thumb brushed against your clit. Your sensitive body reacted immediately, squirming in her lap. She rubbed on your clit almost teasingly, though she couldn’t keep a good pace.
You were in a desperate haze, and all you wanted was for Robins strap to fill you up. Your eyes were begging into hers. You’d broken the kiss just to look at her with desperation. With her careful help, she positioned you better, the tip of her strap now gliding against your folds. Robin slowly eases you down onto her cock, your walls opening up for her gratefully, a soft, thankful moan releasing from your mouth. She held your hips down, your cunt filled to the brim with her.
“Good girl,” she breathed out, slowly beginning to move you on her cock. She helped you move, letting her strap drag in and out of your needy cunt. Robin could tell your desperation was getting the best of you. She positioned you halfway on her cock, before sloppily thrusting her hips up into you. She had no main goal as to where she was trying to hit, though she still managed to thrust her cock deep inside of you. Her lips attached to your neck in a wet kiss, sucking at you more aimlessly than her thrusts. It was a wonder how she managed to suck a hickey onto you.
Robins fingers dug into your skin as she tried to get a good grip on you. Your hips had a mind of its own, and began bucking and grinding against her. It made it a little hard for your girlfriend, however, to fuck you. Her glazed eyes glared down hungrily to your tits, which were bouncing with every weak thrust of hers. Your sensitive body was easy to give out on you, your orgasm approaching with every glide of her cock. You were a lot more pliable while stoned.
What sent you over the edge was the way Robin started squeezing at your ass. It peaked out of your skirt perfectly, she just couldn’t resist. With a clench of your wet cunt, you came all over her strap, eyes rolling to the back of your head. She praised you a few times as you came, your senses amplified from your buzz. You gripped her thankfully, overstimulated from just one orgasm.
It didn’t matter, anyways, a few taps on the window breaking you two away from each other. Steve was outside of the car door, groaning in annoyance. He was rambling on about how you two better look presentable in the next 2 minutes, or “so help me god”. One glance at each other had you erupting into a fit of giggles, bracing each other with large smiles.

the party was always at steve's, for obvious reasons. steve left you to your usual antics, banking on the fact that you'd come out of the closet sooner or later.
"no way!" robin says, shaking her head. "yes, way," he disagrees. robin has been childhood friends with you for as long as you can remember, and steve knows there has to be more to it. his supporting argument is that of vickie, who paused fast times at-
"yes, steve-i know, i know!" she protests, nursing the drink she hasn't even taken a sip of, the liquid sloshing around in her solo cup. she's debating taking a sip of it now since he's babbling, but she opts against it. "but she's not like that. she's just..i don't know, having fun?" she shrugs, wincing. her argument is weak, and she knows it, but hopeful nonetheless. steve dismisses her with a wave of his hand, a humored expression on his features.
about an hour later, you've made your rounds-kissed nearly every girl in the room that would let you.
and then you make your way to robin.
she looks like a deer in headlights, sliding over on the couch seconds before you flop onto it, scooching in next to her. "hi." you say. "hi," she responds. your cup is empty, and you place it on the coffee table in front of you both. "why d'you never let me kiss you, buckley?" you ask, sing-songy. "been friends with me forever," you say, "feels like a rite of passage."
robin could puke up her nerves.
"uh, well-you've never like, asked me, or anything-"
"but you avoid me." you point out, finger wagging.
as if robin didn't feel like a deer in headlights enough, she certainly looks it; pale as a ghost with eyes blown wide. "i don't mean to," she says, acknowledging that it's a confession. "i just..i dunno, man." she laughs halfheartedly, and you join in, soft giggles spilling from you as you lean into the couch. your side is pressed against the cushions, turned so you can face her. her back is firm against the cushions, glancing over at you.
"dunno what?" you ask, and she shrugs, mouth agape with a growing grin. "listen, not to slut shame-like, at all-" she quickly clarifies, sitting up more as she turns to face you, too. "you just..kiss..everyone?" she poses it as a question, though both of you already know the answer.
you nod.
"and..i just..didn't wanna be a party trick, y'know?" she grimaces, bracing for verbal impact that she's certain will come from your mouth. but you shrug.
she's right.
"i guess i never thought of it that way." you say, and suddenly it all seems so confusing. "but..boys get to kiss whoever they want.." you say, and robin laughs. "yeah, man. fuck the patriarchy, right?" she says, her frivolous humor charming you. it's only then that you notice how her eyes look, beautifully hazed when she's not blowing her pupils out from an anticipatory scolding due to her antics. suddenly, everything else seems like white noise.
"but..i kiss who i want, too." you say, and robin deflates, knowing she hasn't made the cut. "f'course you do!" she quickly encourages, faux perkiness embodying her. "and you should, i mean-" she rambles, but you quickly cut her off. "i mean," you clarify, "girls."
robin freezes, and she tries to stop you before you can get any further, knowing she happened to get lucky with how steve reacted to her coming out; knowing that he was the exception. "don't-" she quickly hushes, clasping her hands gently over your own, that rest in your lap. it sends a flurry of butterflies to nestle in the pit of your stomach, and you exhale shakily through your nose. "robin, i mean it." you say, sincerely. your buzz has certainly worn off, and you can feel each nerve trembling in your body
"i want to kiss you."
"..oh," she says, feeling like what she can only imagine steve felt like, but better. you cup her face, and she mirrors you, rubbing her thumb along your cheek. it's the closest to heaven she's ever felt, and she's terrified she'll never feel it again. "please, don't make a mistake-" she tries, and you press your lips to hers.
it's gentle; soft and slow, tender and fragile. robin's fingers rake gently along the side of your head, tucking your hair behind your ear. you lean into her touch, nearly sitting in her lap as she cradles you closer. your lips part, only to meet one, two..three more times, molding together as if they're made for each other. everyone is too occupied with their own lives, own conversations, to even pay attention to the two of you.
except steve; who glances over as he passes, a softened expression that harbors pride.
you finally part from robin, still tangled in her arms as you study her features. "i don't think any of it was a party trick.." you say, sincerely. robin's brows furrow, curious. "i think i was just..working up the nerve to actually kiss the girl i've wanted." you confess, cheeks warm and flushed. "yeah?" she coos, a grin growing on her features as she continues to rake her fingers gently through your hair. "i've never kissed a girl. ever." she confesses, "so..i guess you could say i've been waiting for you, too." your heart feels like it grows three sizes, threatening to pummel out of your chest.
"be with me," you say, and who is she to refuse? "always have been." she says, pulling you closer as you both melt into the couch. "always will be."

🐛- robin realising she’s made you flustered?? blurb or headcanons, your choice!! and congrats on 2.7k lovely<3
thanks youu, and once again, this got out of hand
(no longer accepting sleepover headcanon requests etc)
warnings: this is a little steamy (or i’m just touchstarved), sexual tension, robins hands, robins lips, robins voice - sfw tho :)
under the cut because it’s just a little irritating long for the dash :)
robin is rambling, it’s not exactly a new phenomenon. she paces around the back room of the video, pulling different boxes down , tidying aimlessly as she rants about her day.
you watch her walk back and forth, leaning against a shelf, utterly distracted by robin’s hands, and the way her quick pace flings her short hair out behind her, wafting apple scented shampoo across the room.
“and then Steve just flirted whilst I had to deal with the saturday afternoon rush and-“
she keeps going, walking towards you with a couple tapes in her left hand, using the other to guide you out of her way with her hand on your waist, standing on her toes to reach the shelf above you.
“he didn’t even get a date which is even worse.”
the raspy edge of her voice makes you gulp as her breath grazes your ear as she leans over you to put the films away. she squeezes your hip as she pulls away, and your breath catches, quivering from her lips a second too late.
“are you okay?”
“huh?”
you’re staring at her lips though, lips parted wordlessly, and robin’s head tilts for a second, confused as your turn your head to side, suddenly aware of how ridiculous this is, to be so flustered over your own girlfriend.
“what? was i talking to much?”
“no, rob,” you manage, “you can never talk to much to me i just-“
your eyes betray you again the second you turn to face her, eyes falling once again to her lips, watching as realisation causes them to quirk upwards into a smirk.
“oh,”
“shut up,”
robin grins, hands finding your waist, pulling you into her chest as you grumble embarrassedly, turning again to the side.
“no, no,” robin exclaims softly, lips briefly grazing your ear again, “look at me, please… you look so cute all flustered.”
“robin…”
one you’re facing her again, she lifts her hands to cup your cheeks, smirking in a way that makes your ears burn. your back presses against the metal frame of the shelves behind you, and she breathes out a disbelieving chuckle at the way your eyes flutter shut as she leans in.
“i love having this effect on you, you know-“
“will you just kiss me, already.”

hot summer nights
Tumblr media
pairing: robin buckley x fem!reader
synopsis: summer, 1986. robin experiences an epic love when you come to stay at your aunt’s place in hawkins for the summer.
warning: mild violence, mentions of drugs, bullying, homophobia (ik ik big yawn but i promise it’s sO insignificant)
word count: 5.6k
a/n: i am so scared for vol. 2. this is me manifesting.
now playing:
════ ⋆★⋆ ════
The first time Robin saw you, you were sitting on a front porch of a house she biked past, smoking a cigarette. She was going to work then, and she thought it was really early to be smoking. She didn’t know who you were either; if you went to Hawkins High, she would know. You came up in her mind once in a while for the rest of the day.
You noticed her too. She was cute. It was hot that day, even for a summer’s day in Indiana, so you went inside as soon as you threw the roach on the floor and stomped on it.
The second time she saw you was at Family Video, when you came in to rent A Streetcar Named Desire. Most of the people coming in who rented that only wanted to watch Marlon Brando, it made Robin roll her eyes. The movie was so much more than that.
You barely spoke a word, only handed her the money before walking out and climbing into your red car.
The next time she saw you was at the grocery store when she was shopping for her mom. You were bent over in front of the fridge, sunglasses blocking your eyes, mouth parted with a lollipop hanging from your lips.
She didn’t know where the surge of confidence came from, maybe it was the mundanity of being in a grocery store surrounded by a lot of people who didn’t spare her a single glance. Maybe it was the fact that she needed to catch you. But she pushed her cart over to where you stood, and stopped a few feet in front of you.
“You should try this one.” She said, opening the fridge, and taking out a pint of mint chocolate ice cream. “This one’s my favorite.”
For the first time, you looked at her, really looked at her. She was really pretty, was what you concluded. You pushed your sunglasses down on the bridge of your nose.
“Thanks.” You accepted the pint.
The freckles on her cheeks complemented her skin beautifully, as she nodded and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.
“Y/N.” You extended a hand.
“Robin Buckley.” She took your hand, and mentally cursed herself out. You introduced yourself with your first name only, maybe she should have done the same. “Are you new ‘round here? Can’t say I’ve seen you in school.”
Her heart leapt when your lips curved up into a smile. “I graduated this year. I’m staying here with my aunt for the summer.”
“Where are you from?”
“Missouri.”
“Cool.” Robin nodded, albeit a bit awkwardly. “Must be scorching over there too, right?”
“You bet.” You gave a smile.
You accompanied her for the rest of her grocery run, and it was only when she’d arrived home that she noticed that she was talking your ears off, and you only walked beside her and listened. Her spike of confidence didn’t win against her nerves this time.
Robin was holding a big bag of groceries by the time she stepped out of the store. She looked up at the scorching sun with a heavy sigh, dreading the tread back home.
“You got a ride?” You suddenly spoke up.
“Um, no. I was just gonna walk home.”
“I’ll take you home.” You gestured to the same red car she saw outside work, parked next to the entrance. “Come on.”
The car ride was mostly silent, except for the times she told you where to go. She couldn’t believe that just a few days ago you were all that was in her mind, and now she was in your car. Steve would make fun of her if she had told him. It was relief, then, that she hadn’t.
“Oh, you can just stop right here, that’s fine. Thanks for the ride.”
“My pleasure.” You said. “And thank you for recommending me the ice cream.”
“That’s not the same.” Robin shook her head, smiling.
“Sure it is.” You smiled again, as you pushed your shades down.
“Um . . . My mom is making dinner if you want to join us. I’m sure she wouldn’t mind.”
“Oh, no, that’s okay. I gotta get home to my aunt. Kinda promised her I’d be home tonight.”
She let out a small ‘oh’, as her palms started sweating. Maybe she was a bit disappointed because you were so enthusiastic about driving her home before, she just thought. Maybe she read your intentions wrong, maybe you were just being nice. Good god . . .
“But hey, we can hang out some time. You can show me what’s fun around Hawkins.”
“Yeah.” Robin replied, maybe a little too fast. “Yeah, that’d be cool. We can go bowling on Friday. Me and my friends go there all the time. Pick me up at 3?”
“Cool.” You nodded.
“Cool.”
You drove off with a ‘see you then’, as Robin watched the tail of your car disappear around the street corner. It was one thing to fantasize about someone from afar—as Robin has always done—but it was another that they were right in front of you, drove you home, and made plans to see you again soon.
Still, Robin was a smart girl, and she didn’t let this one interaction run away with her fantasies. You might not even like girls.
“She definitely like girls.” Steve emphasized, placing VHS tapes from a pile he had in his arms onto the stands.
“No—“ Robin groaned, and followed him. “You’re just saying that because I’m telling you about her. I mean—you say that to every girl I tell you about.”
“She went out of her way to drive you home from the grocery store? Uh, hello? That’s what I do when I’m trying to flirt.”
“Yeah, but it’s not the same.” Robin groaned exasperatedly into her hands and leaned dramatically against the shelf causing a couple of tapes to fall out of their perfected positions.
“Hey, watch it. The point is,” Steve said, “you just gotta take this chance and run with it, alright? It’s clear that she’s showing interest. What about that bowling thing on Friday?”
“About that . . . I kind of implied that it was going to be a group thing.” She grimaced at the deadpan her best friend gave her. “Please?”
Steve rolled his eyes, and continued shelving. “Fine.”
════ ⋆★⋆ ════
Robin was sweating profusely on Friday, partly because it must have been 100 degrees that day, but also because the thought of hanging out with you just make her knees go weak.
You pulled up to her front porch with the windows down, shades on like always, and another lollipop hanging from a million-dollar smile. She thought the sight of you must have been what those stupid love songs on the radio were all about.
She walked side-by-side with you into the bowling alley. You were so close that her hand almost grazed yours many times, and she resisted the urge to reach out and grab it.
Robin let out a sigh of relief when she saw her friends already digging into burgers and fries. She waved at them merrily, and beckoned you over.
“Guys, this is Y/N. She’s from out of town.” You nodded curtly as Robin spoke. “This is Steve, Eddie, Nancy, and Jonathan.”
“‘Sup.” Eddie waved.
You missed the teasing look Steve threw Robin’s way.
“Let’s play in pair.” Nancy suggested. “I’ll play with Jonathan. Steve, you with Robin. Eddie, why don’t you take Y/N?”
Robin’s stomach dropped, watching Eddie make his way over to you. You smirked, “Hope you’re good at bowling.”
She should have expected it, but maybe she didn’t, because there was no way anyone could look so good winning at bowling, but you did. You and Eddie ended up winning by three points, ahead of her and Steve.
You took the match ball, and when your ball knocked over all seven of the remaining pins.
“Yes!!” You exclaimed with a laugh, high-fiving Eddie enthusiastically.
She watched you with a small smile, the way you let loose so quickly, but also with envy that you didn’t do so with her.
“Good game.” You extended your hand to her. It was reminiscent of the first time she talked to you.
“Yeah, yeah.” She grumbled teasingly.
“C’mon, don’t be a sore loser.” You wrapped your arm around her shoulder as you walked back to the table.
Robin surrendered. There was no way she could stay angry at you for long.
Conversation ensued naturally, and though you didn’t talk a lot, everyone appreciated your input whenever you did.
“So, Y/N.” Jonathan spoke. “Where did you say you were from?”
“Iowa.” You said.
“Must be really quiet where you are to come all the way to Hawkins.” Steve chimed in.
“Wasn’t my choice. My aunt lives here,” you replied, “but it’s not all bad.”
She caught a glint in your eyes, as you leaned forwards to pick up your soda. The comment warmed her tummy, almost enough to make her overlook the lie.
“Today was fun.” You said, pulling the handbrake in front of her house.
“Yeah, it was.” The house was still. Normally, Mom and Dad should have been home by then, but the lights were all off.
“My parents won’t be home until, like, 9. Wanna order pizza?”
She half-expected you to decline, but you agreed and parked the car curbside.
“You can go upstairs. My room is the first one to the right. I’ll order for us and be right there. Pepperoni okay?”
You nodded and left for the stairs. It took Robin a few deep breaths to calm her racing heart before she took the phone off its hook.
Once she went up to her room, she found you crouched over her stack of fun things; books, magazines, movies, music. When you turned back around, there was a childlike, excited smile on your face..
"You read The Handmaid's Tale?" You held up her copy. "Sorry for going through your stuff, but it was on top of the pile."
"It's fine," Robin said. "Did you?"
"Only a little bit. I read as much as I could from the library. If my parents found this in my room, I'd be smoked."
"Oh. I guess it is pretty explicit." She took a seat next to you, watching you flip the book back and forth, committing every detail to memory.
"What do you think about it?"
"I think that . . ." Robin took a moment, wetting her lips. "a lot of people underestimate how realistic the story can be. I mean we can't pretend that women hold the same privileges as men, at least not in this country. Just look at the high school English curriculum. You'd be lucky to find even one novel written by a woman, and I think Mary Shelley should definitely be on there, but it's not."
"The one about the monster, huh?"
"So you've read that one too? Okay, yeah, Frankenstein is definitely my favorite book ever. It's so cleverly written and so rich, I could talk about it all day. And even though the Monster is the main antagonist, but maybe Dr. Frankenstein isn't such a victim after all, you know? People who make you out into the freak only to recoil and play the victim when you've had enough, they're the real monsters. And sometimes, I feel like the Monster, I feel like the freak."
You watched with an amused smile, and when she turned to look at you, it didn't falter. "Sorry, I was rambling." She chuckled nervously.
"Me too." You spoke.
"What?"
"I feel like the freak too, the outsider. Feels like I'm never going to fit in." You averted your eyes towards your lap. "For a time I tried, I really did, but that's not me. It's as they say: Why fit in if you can stand out, you know?"
"Yeah." Robin smiled, and suddenly realized you were so close, your leg was touching hers. She looked up and met your eyes which smiled back at her with unspoken kindness.
"Can I ask you something?" She said.
"Mmhm."
"Where are you really from?"
"Does it really matter?"
“I think it does, no?” Robin grimaced, hating the way your voice turned a bit snarky. “Especially when you’ve lied about it twice.”
“How do you know I was lying the first time?”
“So you did lie.”
You let out a quick laugh.
"Sorry."
"Stop apologizing." You laughed quietly, bumping your elbow against her. "I'm one to think that who you are is defined by what you do, not what you come from."
"Totally not what a serial killer would say." Robin chuckled.
You were so mysterious, yet a part of your charm came from it. Robin wasn't quite sure whether she wanted to know where you came from, because what if you're not all that she'd hoped to be? Besides, it's summer. It's not wrong to let loose and have a bit of fun.
"Totally." You smiled.
The doorbell rang. "Pizza's here."
════ ⋆★⋆ ════
You started to visit Robin at work almost every single day, to the point where she’d be watching the clock expectantly every few minutes until 4:30 when your red car would roll up to Family Video.
Weeks past since the bowling Friday, and Robin liked to think that she’s made a beautiful friendship blossom between you two. Steve often teased that you were joined at the hips, as every time he saw one, the other followed.
But Robin didn’t mind that, she just liked to be around you so much. You made her feel like she belonged the way no one except her best friend had ever had before. If her younger self could have seen how much you mean to her now, maybe she wouldn’t mind being a loner all through-out high school if it meant she would get you by the end of it.
Though she couldn’t ignore the blossoming feelings in her chest anymore. Subtle touches and lingering glances made her believe that there was something more than friendship, but maybe that was just the way you were with her, and but she couldn’t let herself be disappointed if there wasn’t.
“Looking for your Beauty?” Steve smirked behind the counter.
Narrowing her eyes at the older boy, she glanced at the clock again.
That’s weird, she thought. It was almost the end of her shift, yet you were still nowhere to be found.
“‘Kay, I’ll see you tomorrow.” She mumbled while shimmying out of her work uniform.
“You do know I’m your ride, right?” Steve called.
“I’ll walk home.”
“Hey, Robin. Robin!”
Shoving her hands into her pant pockets, she wondered whether she should make a detour to your aunt’s house. It was very unlike you to be late or not show up, and in fact this was the first time. Robin decided against it, telling herself that you might have just been busy, and forgot to call. Sometimes her neediness interfered with reason, and she hated it.
Walking further along the road, sweat already coating the back of her neck, she cursed when she saw a group of teenagers on the curb. But these weren’t just normal, stupid teenagers, these were Freddy G. and co., the ones that tormented her throughout high school. She wished that she had left with Steve now.
“Is that Buckley? Hey, Buckley!” Freddy called, before she could turn the other way.
“Hey, over here!” They surrounded her. “Good to see you’re still a loser.”
His friends started laughing like it was the funniest joke in the world. She felt tears building at the corners of her eyes. The insult itself was nothing, but it was reminiscent of the other insults they hurled at her in school, shoving her into lockers in the hallway that gave her bruises, taking her stuff and tossing them around like a game of monkey-in-the-middle.
“What’s wrong, you little crybaby? Aren’t you happy to see us too? What’ve you been up to?”
She used to think these bullies were nothing but stupid, and that she felt sorry for their nonexistent futures and stuck being Hawkins deadbeats, but one insult stuck with her, one that ridiculed her sexuality.
“Hey! I’m talking to you.” Freddy shoved her by the shoulder the way he usually did, and Robin froze in her spot.
“Hey, asshole!” She heard your voice, and the next thing she knew, Freddy was on the ground with a bloody nose.
“My nose! That bitch broke my fuckin’ nose!” He screeched on the ground, holding his face as blood poured from his fingers like a fountain.
“And I’m gonna break more if you don’t get the fuck out of here.” You gritted your teeth, and glared at the rest of them.
One particular boy was feeling brave, and swung at you, but you dodged him expertly before twisting his arm behind his back. He cried out in pain, as you tightened your grip.
“Let’s go!” One of them cried out, and hoisted Freddy up before running with their tails between their legs.
You let the boy go with a kick in his back, and he looked back at you with fright.
“Hey.” You said softly. “I’m so sorry I—“
She didn’t let you finish before she had wrap her arms around you, and buried her face into your neck.
The force made your stagger, but you soon settled into it, and held her back as soon as you heard the quiet sniffles coming from under you.
“I’m sorry I couldn’t come by today. There was some stuff at home.” You cooed, and gently ran your fingers through her hair.
“It’s okay.” She said, a loud sniffle following right after.
“Those little shits bothered you in school too?” You held her hand tightly, wiping away her tears.
She nodded. “Okay,” you said. “Fuck them.”
Robin let out a quiet laugh, and gazed upon you as your hand glided along the skin under her eyes. Under the red sun, you glowed like an angel.
“There’s that pretty smile.” You poked her cheek. “Come on. Let’s go get ice cream. I’ll even get you two if you want.”
“I kinda want a Slurpee.”
“Okay,” you said, pulling onto her hand. “Whatever you want.”
Slurpees do wonders when it came to Robin. Two cherry Slurpees later, she was sitting next to you on the hood of your car as happy as a clam, chatting away about some movie she saw recently.
“It’s crazy that I love it so much. Maybe because I look at it and saw the high school experience I never had.”
“You wanna be locked up in detention?” You teased her.
“Noooo.” Robin whined. “I wish I had more friends. Maybe then I’d had gone to prom.”
She suddenly realized that this was the first person she admitted this to. If she told Steve about this, he would either tease her or say that prom didn’t matter, citing him be prom king. Maybe it was stupid, but she just wished she had experienced it herself, and made the judgment herself. Instead, when everyone was dolled up, she sat at home and watched Jeopardy! with her father.
“I didn’t go to prom either.” You shrugged. “Never had my slow dance.”
“Wanna do it now?”
“What?” You laughed. “We’re in a 7/11 parking lot.”
Grinning, she hopped down with a thud, and pulled you until you standing.
“This is stupid.“ You chuckled, and shook your head. She had let you wrap your arm around her shoulder, as she rested hers on your waist, holding your other hand firmly and swinging it up and down.
“I see you moving.” She teased.
You averted your gaze to the ground, but a budding laugh began to form in your throat. Soon the giggles turned into hearty bellows, as Robin’s movements grew more enthusiastic.
You couldn’t lie to yourself anymore, not with her so close to you that you could feel her warm breath on your cheek and each individual freckle that adorned her skin, the blue of her eyes unlike anything you’ve ever seen. And her lips, pink and plump, as you felt an invisible force pulling you to her.
Your eyes flickered between her eyes and lips. She was so close . . .
Neither of you heard the car coming until its headlights flung past. Robin instinctively jumped away from your grasp, just as the car completed its turn and stopped in front of a pump.
Robin suddenly felt afraid. Now her feelings were out there, and she knew you were smart enough to pick up on it. She expected you to pull away repulsed, and scream at her. Instead, you flashed her a warm smile, and felt for her hand.
"It's getting late. Should I take you home?" You said.
You drove her home in comfortable silence. Still, there was a lingering air between you two that made Robin shake her legs with anxiousness. Her anxiety dissipated when during a red light, you gently placed a hand on her thigh with a smile.
“I’ll see you tomorrow?” Robin said quietly.
“Yeah.” You nodded.
“Robin!”
“Oh, Christ.” She mumbled.
“You didn’t come home with Steve, I got so worried!” Her mother had always been fussy. She was the one suggesting that her bike be confiscated during the time Will Byers went missing, and also the cessation of all her fun. “Who’s this?”
“Hi.” You grinned, and waved from your seat.
“Mom, this is Y/N. Y/N, my mom.”
“Oh, Y/N! Are you hungry? You must join us for dinner.”
“Oh, that’s alright, ma’am. I’m okay—“
“No, I insist. Come on, kids. We were just about to set the table.”
Her parents let you pick where to sit at the table, and naturally you sat next to Robin. They asked you questions, and you could only answer as truthfully as you could.
“You play any instruments, Y/N?” Her dad asked.
“No, sir. But I’d love to learn drums.”
“I used to be a drummer back in the day. I even went on tour for a few months with a band that broke up a month after the tour ended.” He chuckled. “That’s where I met Robin’s mom. I saw her, in the crowd.”
“He made me learn the drums when I was little, but it was too loud and I hated it.” Robin giggled.
Her parents were everything you wished yours were. They were the type of people that would backpack across Europe, and made friends quick enough that they could sleepover at their house for a night, and then they’d be off again. You felt happy here, listening to Robin’s mom recount the day her parents met, then went on a roadtrip along the West Coast together.
“If you don’t mind me asking,” you said, “why’d you settle down here, in Hawkins?”
“Yeah, Mom and Dad. Why not somewhere off the coast of France? I’d be eating baguettes everyday.” Robin rested her chin on her hand with a pout.
“It’s as you said, we’re settled down.” Her father replied. “We want our daughter to have a nest to come home to, so she can discover the world for herself. Although, things haven’t been as tranquil as we’d hoped here.”
“But all that matters to us is this little rebel right here,” her mom reached over and ruffled Robin’s hair, as the girl scrunched her forehead in disdain, “is safe.”
You nodded. You felt the same. “The chicken’s great, Mrs. B.”
════ ⋆★⋆ ════
You haven’t been able to get Robin out of your mind ever since that day. It was innate. She had planted the seed in you, and the feelings only festered and grew the longer you spent around her.
Even the taste of your cigarette reminded you of her, of the day you first saw her, and everything that has happened since then. Except, the sky was clear like it was that day at the beginning of the summer.
"Storm's hitting soon." Aunt Louise said by the table. "I need you to get these out as soon as possible."
You took another hit from your cigarette and joined her. "All of them?"
Stopping in her tracks, Louise looked up at you. "All of them. Here's a list of our clients, and where to meet them."
"Jeez." You whistled. "These Hawkinians really do know how to party."
"Be careful." Your aunt said. "The cops have been extra paranoid with all the disappearances lately."
"I got this, Aunt Louise." You sighed, holding the ziplock bag up to the light. "But after this, I'm done, alright? Like we talked about."
"Is it because of that girl?"
You stayed silent.
"I'm not your parents, Y/N." Louise didn’t looked up. "And I know what young love looks like."
"We haven't done anything."
"But you will soon, right?" She smirked.
You chuckled quietly, and looked away. "I don't know if it's even worth it. What if she doesn't like who I am?"
Your aunt only gave you a playful glare before shaking her head, and resumed her counting.
The sky growled and flashed by the time you were on your last customer. It was much darker than it would normally be, and the wind chilled your bones. Your customer waited by the brick wall of down a dark alley, leaning against it with a foot propped against the wall behind him.
"Now isn't this interesting?"
You clenched your jaw and extended your hand.
"Suddenly not much of a talker anymore, huh?"
"Give me the money, asshat, and get out of here before I break your nose again." The first few raindrops had begun to fall, wetting your shoulders and arms.
"Uh, uh. You first." You wanted nothing more than to beat this kid up, but you'd be finished with Aunt Louise if you did. So you gave him the bag.
"Seems a bit light, isn't it?"
"It's ten grams."
Thunder. Then you felt heavy raindrops coming down faster and faster. Freddy scowled at the sky and sighed dramatically.
"Sorry. This isn't enough as promised, but I'll take it. You're welcome."
Your hands were bloody and shaking by the time you were done. The rain was pouring on you now, your knuckles burned from the constant bombardment. You never got the money from Freddy, and he never got the drugs from you. Louise had to take it or leave it.
You have never lost control like this before. It might have been something about his stupid face, the inconvenience of the coming storm, or the storm that was raging on inside you. In any case, you hated it. You hated it, and you just wanted to run away where no one could ever find you.
"Y/N?" You heard a voice call. You stopped in your tracks.
Robin was looking at you with this horrified look on her face. "Were you dealing drugs?"
You shoved the bag into your pockets and kept walking to where your car was.
"Hey! I'm talking to you!" She called, pulling you back by your wrist. You stopped, but didn't turn around to face her.
"Were you dealing?" She repeated. No answer. "Do you beat up all of your clients?"
"No. Go home, Robin."
"No. No, y-you—" Her hair drooped over her face like a mop. "You've been lying all summer. You're a liar."
You were grateful for the rain because it masked the tears that were streaming down your cheeks. "You're right," you said, "maybe I am. But I don't want to lie anymore."
Within a quick swoop, you cupped her cheeks and kissed her deeply. The rain was still pouring down on you, and you would dread the cold that would follow it the next day. But you didn't care, because you knew—and all you cared to know—was Robin's warm lips against the cold.
When you pulled away, Robin's eyes fluttered open, raindrops catching onto her lashes for a split second, then she was kissing you again.
════ ⋆★⋆ ════
"Can you say something, please?" You mumbled. She had offered you a seat on her bed after giving you a towel, but you refused as you didn't want to wet her sheets.
"Where are you from? Really?" Robin pressed.
You took a breath. "Connecticut," you said, "Rockford, Connecticut."
“Why should I believe you?”
“Because,” you sighed, “I don’t know. You couldn’t care less where I’m from, really. I’ve felt more at home here than I have my entire life in Rockford.
My mom sent me here because she wanted me away from someone I was seeing, and she didn’t like that it was . . . a girl.”
“Oh.”
“Yeah. She never liked me anyway, and I think it was just an excuse to send me away.” You rubbed your hands together. “Aunt Louise offered me to work for her—“
“Selling drugs.” Robin cut you off.
“I told her I’d quit after today.” You said. “I’ve saved up some money from my cut. Then I’m leaving.”
“Oh.” Robin should have expected it. This summer wasn’t going to last forever, but maybe she believed that it did. She wasn’t ready to lose you so soon. “Why don’t you stay here?”
“No.” There was a moment of hesitation that Robin liked to believed that you were considering it, but the finality of your tone shut it all down. “I can’t. I need to . . . I need to get away.”
“I think my parents know about us.”
You laughed quietly. “I figured. Just from the way that talked to me like I was apart of the family. You’re so lucky, Robin.”
“But you still wanna leave.”
You kneeled in front of her, taking her hands in her lap. “I need to find out who I am, Robin. It has nothing to do with you. This summer was the best I’ve had in my life, all ‘cause of you.”
She looked away, but you caught the tear sliding down her face. “Can you kiss me?”
You complied, capturing her lips in a soft embrace. Her cold fingers came up to cup your cheeks, making you sigh. She let you push her back towards the bed, your hands inching further south, shivers covering her legs.
Robin sniffled, and nuzzled into your neck above her. “I don’t want you to go.” Her voice cracked and breathy, and she suddenly felt so small in your arms.
“I’m right here.” You trailed slow kisses along her neck. “I’m here.”
════ ⋆★⋆ ════
The day you left, it was the hottest day recorded in Indiana that year.
You said goodbye to Aunt Louise with a hug, then slung your backpack over your shoulder and walked over to where Robin stood. She looked up, her eyes were glossy, but she was trying her hardest to conceal it. You smiled sadly.
Slowly, she reached into her pocket, and pulled out a bag of sweets, the brand of lollipops you were always munching. “Something for the road.”
The bag of lollipops folded over in your hand, and suddenly you felt like this was all a mistake. Watching Robin so sunken and down, as she picked at the loose thread at the hem of her shirt . . .
You wrapped your arms around her and squeezed. “Thank you,” you said softly, and kissed her cheek.
Robin stayed long after you had climbed into your red car, giving her one last glance through the mirror, and long after it disappeared around the corner at the end of the street.
The silence without you was deafening. The sun, yellow and glaring, mocking her.

New York City, 2004.
“We have one last question, coming from over here. Yes, please.”
“Hi, my name is Daphne. I was a huge fan of the novel, and I was wondering how you came up with the idea?”
The woman smiled gratefully, raising the microphone to her lips. “Thank you. I would say that this book is a semi-autobiographical recount of a particular summer I had at the end of high school. I see a lot of myself in our narrator, and the pure love she shared with Eden was something I’ve definitely felt once.”
“Where is the real Eden now?” Someone chimed in.
She chuckled. “That’s an answer for another Q&A session.” The crowd rumbled with chuckles.
The bookstore began to clear around five in the afternoon. She sighed, and mentally ticked off another date on her list of cities that she was going to visit to promote her book. Apparently she needed to get her word out there to sell it, said her publisher, who would have thought?
“Mind signing another copy?”
It was a voice she hadn’t heard in so long. Each cadence, each intonation, she had etched them into to remembrance, locked away in a box at the far corner of her memory.
It’s been so long, yet, your voice hasn’t changed.
“Did it really take you 18 years to find out who you are?” She smirked.
You only smiled, a beautiful and cheerful one. It was as if you were that teenager again back in ‘86. You were home.
“Hi, Robin.“

Hi! Absolutely love your writing❤️ the stranger things boys + Robin realising their feelings for y/n?😊
thank you so much angel <3
robin is implied fem/feminine presenting reader bc lesbian yk
eddie munson
out of everyone on the list, eddie is probably the one who catches feelings the quickest
only because he has so much love to give and no one to give it to so as soon as his brain locates a potential victim target for said love he's gonna be tripping and falling on his ass
but i think there's a difference between realising he has a crush on someone and realising he has actual feelings for them
the signs have always been there: he talks about you non-stop to the hellfire club; he always picks you up from places and drops you off; you're the only person on this cursed planet who he doesn't feel drained by after a few hours of hanging out
tbh it's the last one that makes it click for him
that friendship turned into fondness turned into blind fucking adoration is suddenly clear as day
honestly eddie will probably avoid you for a few days at first because he has to clear his head
there's a lot to think about, especially because he values your friendship so much and he doesn't want to do anything that will fuck it up
after a few days of radio silence - hell maybe even after one - you turn up on eddie's doorstep like where the fuck have you been??
and that's when he knows in his soul he has to tell you
steve harrington
ok we all saw how quick steve was to admit his feelings for robin in st3 right??
so i don't think he would waste any time at all tbh
he's spent so long looking for someone. the man is a serial dater just because he has this incessant need to just fucking LOVE someone and when he realises he actually has feelings for you, he's really happy??
because he's gone on so many dull, pointless dates with girls who just want steve the king harrington from high school
but you see him as steve, dumb-ass mother of six with a heart of gold
you have actual real conversations & you're not afraid to rip into him. even about his hair
especially about his hair.
so yeah steve will move pretty quickly
it will definitely be a matter of working out how to tell you because honestly the man gets super nervous and trips over his words
i can picture him rehearsing it with robin on shift
maybe you accidentally walk in and overhear
robin buckley
robin said herself that if she asks out the wrong person she literally be a fuckin pariah because this is the 80s and homophobia is unfortunately rampant
she's had crushes before - like vicky and tammy - but it's not til you've been friends for a few months that she realises she has actual feelings for you
and honestly robin is low key kicking herself bc she's known for you a long time by that point and you've never ever hinted that you might be into girls
but then again, neither has she!! her brain is just famously good at forgetting that the same logic that applies to you also applies to her
gauging whether you could be queer is difficult
her first mistake is mentioning this to steve who - despite his best intentions - starts asking you questions like "madonna's an absolute babe, right?" and "kiss marry kill: nixon, jfk, and also...kim basinger"
and when you declare that yes, madonna is babe and that you would kill nixon, marry jfk - for the money - and fuck kim basinger he just looks at robin with a wide grin
her next port of call is letting you know that she also likes girls but she has no idea how
"i like madonna too! in the same way you like madonna. not like that i just enjoy her music but i would fully be her houswife."
she gets to the point eventually i promise

hii! i was wondering if you could write something about robin buckley choosing reader to go to europe with her for the summer! (maybe a rebel robin au??) ive never seen anyone write anything about it and id think id be cute!
Tumblr media
✧.* operation crossaint!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
— summary : summer in hawkins is boring. so, how about a trip to europe?
— pairings : robin buckley x fem!reader
— word count : 0,9k
— warnings : fluff, friends to lovers, oblivious reader kinda, messy plot whoops, foul language, kissing mwah mwah, weird time jumps, not proofread, this is set in the summer btw!! robin & reader is 18 here.
a/n : hi there! thank u for the request anon ^_^ i tried fitting some aspects and references from rebel robin because i couldn't really fit in the whole au and storyline of rebel robin because i don't think it'll fit that well, so sorry about that!!
Tumblr media
"operation crossaint?" you question as robin nodded. "just hear me out. i want to live outside of hawkins y/n. i want to know whats outside of this shitty town," she explains.
"it's sounds weird i know but, i want to learn and experience things." she continues.
"so like europe?" you ask, "yes! exactly like europe. i want to travel, meet people who live exactly how they want to, i want to see beautiful museums, and walk down old streets!" she rambles.
you nodded listening to everything she says. "and live off of crossaints and cheese?" you laugh — "mhm!" she nodded.
"i told mr hauser about it and, he told me to take someone with me, and he suggested milton or dash but i was thinking-" she paused, "that maybe you could go with me?" she asks, scrunching her nose.
"or don't, i understand that maybe you have something going on or maybe you focusing on othe-"
"i'll go with you." you stated. "but we literally have 0 dollars and, have you asked your parents?" you ask.
"we can work on that! mr hauser said that he could help talk to my parents which automatically means that he could talk to yours so-" she rambles, "all he said is that if i find someone to take with he could help me. and you said yes."
"yeah well of course, i mean spending any time at all with you and in europe? that sounds like an absolute dream." you smiled.
robin's cheeks grew pink as you stated that. europe? with you? together? is she dreaming right now?
"i'll go work things out, i'll see you tomorrow y/n." she waved.
you were so caught up with the conversation you don't realize you were outside your house now as robin skipped away.
robin could barely sleep that night, was she really going to spend her time in europe with you?
god, she was so excited to tell mr hauser all about it. she had already started learning languages she thought might be important for the trip, like french or their culture and stuff.
she is so excited to spend time with you, especially outside of hawkins. the walks you could go with her, the food you get to taste together, the memories she could make.
"jesus, get yourself together buckley." robin sighed, her thoughts haunting her as she slowly falls asleep.
you sat down the bus, going home from another miserable day at hawkins high. flipping through the pages of your book, you see robin hoping on, almost missing the bus.
she ignores the taunts of some of the older kids before spotting you and sitting next to you.
"dunno whats their problem," you look back at the older teens mocking robin — "their probably failing another year anyways." you stated, voice a bit louder. "i hope they fall off of the bus." she sighed.
it's been a few weeks since robin told you about 'operation crossaint' and you two just got back from thanksgiving break.
"so, how was your break?" you ask. "amazing actually, i got a job, and i think i can finally afford tickets for two people to go to europe!" she smiles.
"really? that's great! i saved up a bit and i think we can manage. plus, you know extra money for gifts and stuff." you added.
robin was so beyond excited that you stuck by her, the last few weeks everything had been going the total opposite for her, yet you were still there for her in every moment.
"i also bought a camera recently, and we could bring that to our trip. you know? for memories and stuff, so they last forever." you say as robin nodded, smiling wider than ever.
and here you are now!
the past weeks is the probably the best few weeks ever. europe, with robin, together.
you two finally get to experience the europe dream, going to museums, eating in fancy cafes, going on trips on a boat, and just living a life outside of hawkins.
you've been carrying your camera around everywhere, documenting your summer with your person.
and for robin, the past few weeks was somewhat of an awakening for her. she finally could understand herself with the help from you and everything around her.
she now understands why she's been feeling a certain way around certain people, especially you. like butterflies fluttering in her stomach, and how her heart feels like its going to explode.
and that brings you here, on a random hill surrounded by pretty flowers and bright stars above.
"heres one where we were at the fair, the ferris wheel looked so pretty here." you showed robin the pictures you've been taking along the trip.
"oh! and these are some cats near by the water, remember? the ones i told you. gosh, they're just so cute." you smile.
you didn't notice how quiet robin was, you could feel her smile but she hasn't said anything.
you look up and notice that she wasn't looking at your camera like you had been doing. she was looking at you.
"what? do i have something on my face?" you questioned.
in robin's defense, you're really pretty. cherry stained lips, gorgeous hair that just falls in place so perfectly, and the prettiest eyes.
"it's not nice to stare buckley." you chuckle, "you're too pretty not too." she replied.
the tension grew as the moon shined, perfectly reflecting robin's freckles.
she moved closer to you, the smell of your perfume overwhelming her.
she kissed you.
you kissed her.
robin pulled away, realizing what she just did, what you just did. your cherry stained lips now staining her.
"i'm sorry i should've-" robin got cut off, your lips connected to hers again. "don't apologize robs." you say, tucking her hair.
"i like you, like, like like you." robin stated — "i like like you too." you replied.

A/N: so writing this was so much fun,, i hope you enjoy reading it as much as i did writing it,, this was a wild ride, also thank you so much for the request i hope i did it justice
Pairing: Steve Harrington x Fem!Reader
Y/N didn’t know that she was in trouble until it was too late.
One moment she was in the cemetery, standing as Max sat in front of Billy’s grave stone, reading a letter and then the next while turning, she was standing in a decaying isolation; terrified of what was unseen around her.
“Steve?! Max! Dustin! Lucas?! Anyone?”
The echoing sound of laughter and ticking surrounded her as she stood, not noticing a tear run down her cheek until she sniffled, feeling a few more fall after.
“Y/N.”
Then a chuckle filled the echoing silence, causing Y/N to quickly turn again and try and pinpoint the direction.
“Oh Y/N I’ve been waiting for you.”
+++
“Y/N! Y/N! Come back to m- us. Y/N!” Steve yelled, softly shaking her for a moment before looking at the trio with worry.
“Y/N please I need you here. Please Y/N listen to my voice and come back to me. Y/N please.”
Y/N’s eyes were glazed over until they were white as she stood there in front of the grave; Lucas, Max and Dustin meeting fearful eyes and Steve looked at Y/N, trying to think of a way to bring her back to them. He put his hands on her shoulders and gently shook her but it was as if a force had her and didn’t want to let her go.
“Steve come on help her.”
Steve turned to look at Dustin with exasperation, an ache thrumming in his chest painfully while trying everything in his power to bring her back.
“What do you want me to do? Honestly Dustin.”
Y/N’s body became more rigid while the weather became more cloudy and overcast.
“We need to do something now.”
All they could think to do was yell her name, trying to break through but it didn’t seem to be working.
‘Please let there be something we can do.” Steve thought, running a hand through his hair as his eyes glazed over.
+++
Y/N yelled out for Steve, fear thrumming through her body as she looked around, the screeching making her jump.
“Steve! Steve!”
The darkness felt like it was latching on to her, gripping onto her with talons that were sharp enough to pierce her flesh. It felt like she couldn’t move as the laughter and voices seemed to get closer and encapsulate her.
“Oh Y/N, I’ve been waiting to hear those words. Waiting so very long.”
Hearing Billy’s voice and watching him walk closer caused Y/N’s blood to run cold, fear keeping her rooted to the ground.
“But it wasn’t the full truth was it?”
Billy was in front of her then, the tears running down her face not stopping as he brought his hand up and wiped her cheek.
“You know I really think there is a part of you, buried somewhere deep, that wanted me to die that day. That was maybe even relieved…”
There was a pause as Y/N’s breath stuttered, her head starting to shake.
“Happy?”
“N-No Billy. That isn’t true.”
That’s why you all stood there isn’t it? That’s okay, you can admit it now. No more lies. No more hiding.”
“No Billy that isn’t true. I-I swear.”
Y/N couldn’t stop crying, stepping back as Billy moved forward, not registering the cold of the mist.
“That’s why you feel such guilt. Why you hide from your friends. Why you hide from the world.”
“N-No. No.”
The malicious nature was making the fear too overwhelming but Y/N tried to focus, tried even in a small way to escape but she couldn’t.
“And why late at night you have sometimes wished to follow me. Follow me into death.”
“No I don’t. No. No.”
“That is why I am here Y/N, to end your suffering. Once and for all.”
It was then that Y/N tripped, falling backwards and hitting the ground with a groan before looking up and seeing him.
Vecna.
A terror unlike anything she had ever experienced overcame her, taking the air from her lungs and leaving her body shaking.
“It is time Y/N.”
Stuttering breaths left her lips as she looked up at the menacing figure, wanting more than anything to be back with Dustin, Lucas, Max but most of all Steve.
“It is time for you to join me.”
Then Y/N felt it, a surge of adrenaline course through her, and she was up and running away from Vecna and through the fog. Everything looked the same, covered in mist, fog and decay but that didn’t stop her from running and trying to find a way out; and then she saw it, a red mist a ways away.
It was as if it was calling to her so she followed, making it before walking through the haze, feeling more curious than fearful.
After making it out the otherside, Y/N looked around to see a dilapidated house and spike like structures protruding from the ground; which caused Y/N to gasp and step back when she saw that entombed in those pikes were the people that had been tragically killed before.
“Would you like to join them?”
Words escaped Y/N after Vecna posed the question, starting to run again as he walked towards her, but before she could get very far a vine wrapped around her ankle and pulled her down.
A scream ripped from her throat as she was pulled back, clawing at the ground for a foothold but nothing worked. Before she knew it her back was against a hard surface with her wrists being restrained before a tentacle was wrapped tightly around her neck.
‘This is it,’ Y/N thought, ‘this is how I die.’
+++
“What’s Y/N’s favourite song?” Lucas asked, looking at Steve expectantly, followed by Dustin and Max.
“U-Uh um oh Running Up That Hill.”
Max dumped out her tapes and the group flicked through them, trying to find the specific tape while their hands were shaking and the fear of not being able to save Y/N loomed over them.
“Here it is. Here.”
Steve organised getting the tape into the tape deck and getting ready to hit play while Max situated the headphones on Y/N head before Dustin yelled.
“Now!”
Then the music began.
‘If I only could…’
+++
Y/N struggled against the restraints, trying to find a way to breath through the quickly lessing circulation but it was becoming increasingly more difficult as the tentacles were tightening every time Y/N struggled.
Vecna stepped closer to them, blocking any way out before the sound of music cut through and a window to the others opened; the sound of the group yelling her name clear through the swirling.
“They can’t help you Y/N.” Vecna began, turning away from the light back to Y/N.
“There’s a reason you hide from them.”
The tentacle slithered and tightened around Y/N, the feeling making her stomach turn while she tried to calm her limited breathing.
“You belong here with me.”
As Vecna spoke Y/N gasped and could feel the air leaving her lungs before coughing.
“You’re not… really here.” Y/N said, her voice not showing the fear that was thrumming through her.
“Oh but I am… Y/N. I am.”
The music surrounded the pair, the sound of Kate Bush singing was what Y/N focused on to make it through as Vecna lifted his hand and brought his claw like fingers up to her face, causing her to close her eyes.
+++
“If I only could, make a deal with God and get him to swap our places…”
As the chorus played, Y/N began to levitate, the group stepping back in fear, calling out her name to try and break through. She didn’t stop rising until she was hovering above their heads, eyes to the sky and perfectly still.
“Y/N! Y/N! Please come down. Please. I need you here. Y/N!”
‘Please,’ Steve thought, ‘please come back to us Y/N. Please fight.’
+++
Vecna’s hand got closer to Y/N’s face, her eyes wide with fear but the window through kept her focus as well as the song playing. All she could think was that she had to do anything and everything to try and make it back.
“Y/N you know I’m always going to be here right. I care about you so much.”
Memories with Steve, Robin, Nancy, Jonathan and the kids flashed through Y/N’s mind, a happiness that couldn’t be described or contained filled her as tears left the corners of her eyes. The flashes of days spent with friends, of driving the kids around with the music turned up full volume, the trick or treating, the movie nights, the almost hand holding with Steve, going to the arcade with Steve and the rest of the gang. Y/N closed her eyes because the memories were what she wanted to see, like a movie playing behind her eyelids, all the happiest moments of her life flashing before her.
It was then that the memories flashed faster, causing Y/N to open her eyes before she got her right hand lose, bringing it up to Vecna’s neck, stabbing and moving her hand towards herself; falling quickly after once the tentacles lost their grip. All she focused on was the window, still hearing the music as well as the screams from the group of her name, knowing that she had to get through before Vecna could catch up and capture her again.
Y/N was on her feet quickly before starting to run, trying to navigate the unfamiliar terrain while remaining steady and upright. It was then that she looked back momentarily before forward again, missing Vecna clench his fingers into a fist before a slab of rock fell, causing Y/N to collapse, scrambling to get up before pumping her legs and arms to run again; as fast as her legs would allow.
More rocks fell and the ground shook but even though Y/N stumbled she didn’t fall, the window was all she was focusing on; trying not to think about what would happen if she didn’t make it through. She was caked in mud, dirt and mess as she got closer and closer; Steve, Lucas, Dustin and Max’s voices much more clear as Y/N got closer, things falling around her but she didn’t notice, not allowing anything to get in the way of getting out of then red place.
Y/N yelled as they made it but then everything went pitch black, a moment of complete nothingness before she was back in her body.
She gasped loudly before she fell to the ground, her legs giving out from under her and Steve rushed over. He sat behind Y/N and pulled her close as she gasped, trying to fill her lungs with air and expel the fear that was clinging to her and refusing to let go.
Y/N grabbed onto Steve’s arm to make sure he was behind her, moving closer until there was no room between them; not wanting to move because what if this turned out to be fake and an illusion; she couldn’t take that chance.
“Y/N, Y/N I thought we lost you. I thought I lost you.”
Steve’s voice sounded panicked and terrified, Y/N grabbing onto his arm tighter to let him know she was there with him. She was there.
“I-I’m still.. I-I’m still here.”

masterlist | requests open
(part two is coming soon!!)
Y/N sighed, slouching further in her already uncomfortable position on the stool behind the counter. Melvald’s was dead, yet again, which left Y/N and her mom Joyce to spending the day mostly just hanging out and pretending to look busy. Joyce had picked up the inventory list for the third time today and was now making another lap around the store. Y/N could’ve sworn she was about to fall asleep when the bell on the front door rang and she sat up. Much to her joy, it was none other than Robin Buckley. Y/N and Robin had known each other off and on throughout their lives, but it was only recently that they really got to know each other.
“Hey Robin.” Y/N smiled, leaning forward against the counter as Robin strolled up, trying to look casual as she glanced around the store. “It’s just me and mom right now, store’s been dead all day.” Y/N’s voice was low. Robin leaned against the counter, taking one more quick glance around before slipping her hands into Y/N’s.
“I missed you.” Robin’s low volume matched Y/N’s. “Watching movies isn’t any fun when you’re not there.”
“Well it’s not my fault that Steve has excluded me from movie nights.” Y/N chuckled. “You know his rule.”
“No making out during movie night.” Robin snorted. It wasn’t a rule he’d ever had to worry about, but it was one he made shortly after Y/N and Robin had started dating a few months back. Steve was one of the only people who knew about their relationship, and while he was supportive as hell he didn’t want it rubbed in his face that he still didn’t have a girlfriend.
“And two hours cuddled up on a couch in a dark room?” Y/N shrugged. “I can’t help myself.”
As the girls continued to talk, their low voices and barely muffled giggles found their way to Joyce’s ears. Unable to help her curiosity, Joyce slowly worked her way back towards the front in an effort to try and hear what the girls were whispering about. Finally, when she’d made it just one isle away, she could hear their voices clearly.
“So, since it’s my turn to plan and since Steve owe’s me, you and I are gonna go out on Friday night.” Robin said.
“Go out?” Y/N raised her eyebrows.
“Okay, we’re gonna order some take out and go sit by Lover’s Lake and listen to the new mixtape I made you but yes. We’re going out.” The girls both giggled lightly, Y/N biting down on her lower lip. “What?”
“I just really wanna kiss you right now.” Y/N admitted. “You wanna meet me in the back room?” Robin laughed.
“Thought that was something we only did at the video store since Steve would cover for us.” Robin snorted. “Besides, isn’t your mom somewhere around here?”
“Yeah but I could tell her I was gonna take a break so she’d come up here.” Y/N shrugged. “Besides, don’t you wanna take a little risk?” Y/N teased, but a small sigh passed Robin’s lips as she barely tried to muster up a smile. “What?”
“You know I’d do anything to just be able to kiss you and hold your hand and go on cute dinner dates. But I…” Robin hesitated. “The last person I want catching us in the act is your mom. What if she never lets you see me again?”
“Oh come on! My mom would never.” Y/N shook her head. “But I get it. Okay, I do. Shit in our lives sucks enough, we don’t need a lynch mob coming after us, too.” A laugh bubbled up from Robin and she nodded her head. Robin’s watch beeped, meaning she had to get back to work. “I’ll see you later.” Y/N raised Robin’s hand, pressing her lips to Robin’s knuckles. “Tonight, maybe?”
“I have to close tonight.” Robin sighed. “I’ll call you in the morning.” Robin pulled Y/N’s hand over, mimicking Y/N by pressing a kiss to her knuckles. Their hands fell back to the counter, Robin squeezing quickly before letting them go and heading for the door. Y/N sighed, looking down at the smudge of chapstick on the back of her hand before looking back at the door. Robin had it half pushed open, also glancing back. At the same time, the girls held up their hands, Y/N just able to make out the smudge of nude pink lipstick on Robin’s hand. Y/N let out a small laugh, letting her hand fall and settling back onto the stool.
“So…what was Robin up to?” Joyce asked as she approached the counter, making Y/N jump.
“Nothing just um…just on her break.” Y/N shrugged. “She’s working with Keith today so she decided to come over here instead of sitting in the breakroom.” Joyce watched Y/N for a moment, noticing how she rubbed the back of her hand on her jeans.
“Y/N, honey…” Joyce started and Y/N looked over at her mom, confused and a little worried as to where this was going. “You know I love you so much, right? No matter what. Nothings ever gonna change that.” A cold-hot panic spread through Y/N’s body. Of course. The one time she’d risked flirting with her girlfriend in public, someone found out. “Is there um…anything you wanna talk about?”
“Mom…” Y/N sighed, her eyes glancing at the back of her hand before she looked back up at Joyce. “Robin and I…we…” Y/N sighed again, feeling incredibly stupid. “The only reason I didn’t tell you is because Robin’s parents won’t understand. No one would. I, I mean I know you do i just…” Y/N sighed once again. “I know you love me. And I love you so, so, so much I just…I love her too. And it’s not fair to her.” Joyce nodded.
“Come here, baby.” Joyce wrapped Y/N in a hug and Y/N reciprocated right away. She had never really been worried about this conversation, she was more worried with how Robin was going to react. “I just have one request.” Y/N groaned as Joyce pulled away. “Invite her over for dinner sometime?”
“Mom, oh my god.” Y/N sighed and Joyce laughed.
“Oh come on!” Joyce teased. “I let Nancy sleep over with Jonathan all the time. The least you could do is bring your girlfriend around sometimes.”
“Mom!”

Could you possibly write something for Robin where she and the reader are in the upside down and robin starts rambling about dying and she somehow ends up confessing her feelings for the reader and doesn't even notice, and the reader is just like shut up but she won't shut up so the reader kisses her?
accidental confessions | robin buckley
Tumblr media
summary: robin wasn’t expecting to confess how she felt about you while stuck in the upside down. but she ended up doing exactly that.
pairing: robin buckley x female reader
warnings: none
note: i loved writing this!!! rambling robin is so <3 <3 thank you for requesting, i hope you like it!!
̟ ̇.˚︵‿୨♡୧‿︵˚.✩
“i can’t die yet,” robin said agitatedly. “there’s still so many things i want to do. like, learn greek, build a garden, eat a chocolate pizza, run an animal shelter and…”
“no one’s going to die.” you interrupted her rambling, as you led the way through the dark, ghastly paths of the upside down.
“yes, we are. no one knows we’re here, and they’re probably not even going to notice we’re missing.”
“they will,” you rolled your eyes. “as soon as it gets too quiet, they’re gonna realize you’re not there.”
“very funny,” she replied sarcastically, still gasping and agitated. “even if they come looking for us, we’ll already be dead. snapped in half by vecna or eaten by some demo-dog or some other strange creature we don’t know about. think about it, humans have no idea what’s in the ocean. not even half of it has been explored. imagine all the things we still don’t know about the upside down.”
“watch your step,” you warned, just as robin almost tripped on a vine, but you managed to move her out of the way. “jesus, robin, you’ve got to calm down.”
“i can’t calm down! we’re heading directly to our deaths,” she pronounced the world slowly and theatrically. “i’m going to die and i’ve never even kissed a girl.”
“robin, shut up.”
“hell, i haven’t even gotten close to kissing a girl. i’ve never asked anyone out, and now, i never will!” she laughed sarcastically, a loud cackle coming from the bottom of her lungs. “you know what the worst part about this is? i’m going to die and i still haven’t got the courage to tell the girl i like that i like her. how will i fight vecna if i can’t fight my fear of rejection? now that’s something to work on.”
“what are you talking about?” you glanced at her, finally giving in to her nonsense. “i thought you didn’t like vickie anymore?”
robin chuckled, shaking her head. “no, not vickie.”
“oh please,” you pleaded. “not the muppet.”
“tammy was a long time ago, okay?! i’m over her.” she exclaimed, and you laughed softly, directing your attention back to finding a way out. “you know, i used to think i really liked tammy and vickie, like, really liked them. and i did, i had a huge crush on them. but this is different. steve says i’m in love, but,” she let out a raspy laugh. “how can someone know if they’re in love? so yeah, what if my heartbeat goes nuts whenever you’re around, and i feel like i can’t breathe whenever you’re looking at me, and i dream of you every night and have nightmares of you loving someone else and hating, hating me, because i’m so infuriatingly, deeply, pathetically in love with you?”
“robin.” you gasped softly, stopping in your tracks, but she kept walking, paying no mind to you.
“and now we’ll both die and i’ll never get the chance to tell you that i think i fell for you the first time i saw you. you were wearing a shirt that said something cheesy and nerdy like, ‘i lost an electron!’ ‘are you positive?’ and i wanted to make fun of you, but i couldn’t. i couldn’t, because you smiled at me and you asked for a mint chocolate chip cone and you complimented my converse, –which i still don’t know how you saw because i was behind the counter, but okay–, and god, i was doomed, i was so, so doomed.”
“robin!” you exclaimed, louder this time.
she stopped, a startled and confused expression on her face as she walked back to you.
“what? what’s wr–”
before she could keep speaking, you cupped her face in your hands and pulled her towards you, joining your lips with hers.
robin gasped in surprise, and for a moment, she thought she really had died, that she was in heaven or someplace else that wasn’t the real world. but then you were kissing her softly and she had never felt more alive, more connected to life and her own existence.
she kissed back, hesitatingly placing her trembling hands on the sides of your waist. all uncertainty left her body as soon as one of your hands made its way to her hair, pulling her closer. and so she kissed you the way she had wanted to do for so long.
robin buckley had a great imagination, but kissing you was better than she could’ve ever imagined.
you pulled away after a while and simply stared at each other. robin’s eyes were wide, her mouth half-opened. your cheeks were flushed, and she felt a strong desire to pinch them and kiss them until they were even more pink.
“you’ve kissed a girl now,” you smirked. “and when all of this is over, you’re taking me out on a date.”
robin’s face broke into a grin, and she nodded her head enthusiastically.
“now, let’s get out of here, alright?”
robin jokingly made a salute gesture, and you walked together, your hands and heartbeats intertwined.

do you still love me?
Robin Buckley x fem!reader
Warnings: A little bit of angst, secret relationship, implied homophobia, fluffy ending
1.3k words
Tumblr media
—-------
It was hard to not be insecure sometimes. Teenagers always have a lot of hormones. Hawkins high had a lot of cliques and a lot of these cliques had a lot of pretty people.
Often times you’d catch Robin looking at one of them. Now the thing is Robin kind of does have a staring problem. It’s not that she wants to stare at them, she just does stare at them and she can’t really help it. It happens with just about anybody.
Robin has told you time and time again that she has flaws like this, but you still can’t help it but let it get to your head. Do you know not to worry because you know that she’ll never cheat on you, but if she still has feelings for you it is different.
It’s a rabbit hole that you often find yourself going down, especially late at night when you’re thinking. Robin was spending the night at your house and you two were laying in bed together. She had asked you before if you were doing okay and of course he said yes but it wasn’t too convincing.
However Robin decided to let it go because she figured that you would tell her if you were ready. Robin was an over thinker too and the fact that you started to become more quiet made her nervous.
You were more popular than Robin but you weren’t a popular kid. This made her overthink because you could have anybody you want, you really could have. You had people every once in a while ask you out and you always decline since you were secretly dating Robin.
One day after class, you walked to your locker to switch out your books for the second half of the day, when you felt someone behind you. You turn around at the feeling of someone’s presence and noticed that it’s not Robin. It’s Jimmy, from your math class.
“Oh, hi Jimmy. What’s up?” You ask politely.
“Hey, did I miss anything from class yesterday?” He asked.
“Oh, no not really. We took some notes, but I copied some for you.” You say, rummaging in your notebook. You find what you wanted and tear a couple of pages out, handing them over.
“Thank you, Y/N, you’re a sweetheart.” Jimmy tells you, with a smile. You can’t help it but smile back, it was a nice compliment.
“Oh, well thank you Jimmy. Is there anything else you need?” You ask him, trying to end the conversation so you could go meet with your girlfriend.
“Yeah, actually. I was wondering if you had any open time this Friday after school?” He leads on.
“Um, I’m not sure yet to be honest.”       “Okay, well if you figure it out, give me a call, I’d love to take you on a date sometime.” He said with a smirk and a wink. Little did you know that Robin was already there and waiting for you, seeing everything that just went down.
You turn around to see her, an emotion on her face that is hard to read. So you finish grabbing the rest of your books, closing your locker, and heading over to her. But it’s almost easy to miss. You weave in and out of a few people to reach her, finally sighing as you reach her.
“Did you see that?” You asked with a giggle.
“Yeah I did.” Robin replied shortly. She wasn’t angry, she was just worried. You were smiling with him, handing him something, and then he handed you his number asking you out. You didn’t have a chance to decline before he walked away.
“It was weird. I had no idea he was even interested in me. Usually it’s easy to tell.” Robin’s heart squeezes a little bit, thinking about it. I mean you were in a gay relationship with another girl, and you had to keep it a secret. Of course other people had no idea, they all thought you and Robin were friends.
“I had no idea you liked me.” She pipes up.
You laughed at this, “Yeah until I kissed you, remember?” You asked, reminiscing about that kiss. It was so nice, awkward, but nice. She nods, no smile forming on her face, so you know something is wrong. Robin always smiles at the thought of kissing you.
“What’s wrong babe?” You pull her in to whisper in her ear, a shiver slithers down Robin’s back.
“Nothing. You’re not gonna call him are you?”
“No.” You said laughing. “Wanna come over? We can cuddle, and things.” You said, leaning into her.
“Yeah that sounds good.” she gave you a smile that was small.
~
The rest of the day passes and you and Robin are laying on your bed, a taped movie playing. Your arm was around Robin, as she cuddled against your side, curling against you, nuzzling her head into your chest and neck. She was content with this, it was one of her favorite things to do. It allowed you two to get close with each other, and get comfy enough to sleep.
But it was also times like this where sometimes she couldn’t sleep. Robin would stay up with her own thoughts too, just as you have before. You began to notice some of the signs of her being off earlier in the day. You didn’t want to pry, but you also didn’t want her to be upset, or need something. What if she was in need of something and she thought you didn’t notice?
“Hey baby? Are you okay? You have been staring off into space, and earlier today you seemed a bit off. I just want to make sure you’re alright.” You speak up.
Robin looks up at you, and in a split second everything she has ever thought about you starts running through her head. All of the kisses, dates, hugs, cuddles, everything sweet you two have told each other. She noticed how you seemed to be spacing out sometimes too, a disconnect in your relationship together.
“Do you still love me?” She asked. Your heart stopped for a second, and you answered immediately.
“Yes, Robin. I still love you, very, very much. What’s all this about?” You push.
“You have been seeming different lately, and Jimmy asking you out today just really got me thinking. You could be with anyone you want, and you won’t have to hide it. I can tell that you’re thinking of things, and I wanna know what it is. Are we doing okay?” She explains.
“Oh Robin. I love you so so so so much. You are my favorite person in the entire world, I would trust you with anything and everything. I think I know what the problem is. You started seeming off, I started thinking about it, and I probably seemed off, which made you upset, and then made you seem even more off.” Robin pulled a confused face.
      “What?”
“Okay let me put it this way, honey. I love you, I love you, and I don’t love anyone else like I do you. I couldn’t. I know that I could be dating someone else, but that is not what I want, I want you. So I am not dating anyone else. You still love me, right?” You ask to make a point.
“Yes, yes of course I still love you.” She quickly answers.
“We are still in love with each other. And besides, you could have anyone you want, and you’re still with me. Now that’s something. Because I can be annoying.” You joke around with a laugh.
Robin laughs too, revealing a smile. “I am in love with you. And you are annoying, but so am I.” Robin leans up and presses a kiss to your lips.

Robin sat cross-legged on the cold wood floor of your bedroom. Boxes were scattered all around your room, so much so, you could barely walk anywhere without tripping over.
You were currently in the bathroom, unpacking all of your toiletries and placing them in the cupboards.
You and Robin had known each other since you were kids. 14 years ago, to be exact. You’d met a few days after you first moved into the neighbourhood. Your parents had practically dragged you out of the house to go knock on her door in an attempt to get you to make some friends. Since then, the two of you had basically done everything together.
Now, you have finally managed to move out. You bought a house of your own which wasn’t too big but it wasn’t too small, it was perfect.
Steve was downstairs with Nancy and Jonathan as they unpacked the boxes for the living room and kitchen which meant that left you and Robin upstairs.
Whilst you were busy in the bathroom Robin was helping you unpack in your bedroom. As she was rummaging around in the many boxes she stumbled upon something that turned her face bright red.
“Umm, y/n?” Robin called out.
“Yeah?” You responded as you poked your head out from the bathroom.
“Why do you have condoms in here?”
“Why do you think?” You teased with a smirk as you leant against the doorframe.
“But you're not a boy?”
“Was that a statement or a question?” You laughed.
“You know what I meant.”
“I don’t think I do.” You acted dumb and you laughed a little once you saw a blush tint her cheeks. “Could you repeat the question?”
“No.”
“I guess you’ll never know the answer then.”
Robin contemplated for a moment on whether to ask you again and she couldn’t stop her brain from thinking of all the possible answers.
“Why do you have condoms in your draw?” Robin reluctantly asked.
“Why not?”
“That doesn’t really answer my question.”
“You just want to know if I’ve had sex, don’t you?”
“Wha- no- that’s not-”
“I’m only messing with you Buckley.” You smiled as you moved from your position and made your way next to Robin.
“Oh, okay.” Robin smiled as she handed you the packet of condoms and you gently took them from her hand, causing your fingers to brush against each other.
You walked back to the bathroom and continued to unpack your things. However, you were soon finished in there so you walked back into your room to help Robin.
You slowly began to notice that Robin was being uncharacteristically quiet. You wanted to ask her what was wrong but she spoke up before you could.
“Y/n?”
“What’s up?”
“Have you actually?”
“Have I what?”
“Have you done it.. you know..”
“What? Had sex?”
“Yeah.” Robin said as she blushed a little looking down at her fingers in her lap.
“A couple of times, why?”
“No reason.”
“Come on Buckley, you can tell me anything.”
Robin went silent for a moment as she contemplated what she was going to say. She finally managed to gain the confidence to tell you something important when Jonathan knocked on your bedroom door.
Since the door was already open he looked at you two quizzically before he spoke.
“Nancy and I were going to get some pizza for us all so do you want anything specific?”
“I’m not fussed, I’m fine with a margarita.” You smiled.
“Me too.” Robin added.
“Alright, we’ll be back in about 45 mins or something.” Jonathan said.
“Alright, just try not to have sex on the pizzas.” You chuckled once you saw him turn red before he left you and Robin alone again.
You watched Robin intently as you still wanted to hear what she was going to say before you two were interrupted but she didn’t say anything.
“I just need to go see Steve quickly.” Robin rushed out and before you could say anything she had already left your room and made her way downstairs.
“Woah! Slow down hotshot.” Steve laughed when he saw Robin practically sprint into the kitchen. “Where’s the fire?”
“What do you mean?” Robin asked.
“You ran into the kitchen as if you were being chased by a hoard of bees and you never run so… what’s up?”
“Nothings up, I just wanted a glass of water.”
“I know when you’re lying, y’know.”
“No you don’t.”
“Do.”
“Don’t.”
“Just tell me.”
“I can’t.”
“Why not?”
“Cause she’s upstairs.”
“Who?”
“Y/n for christ sake!”
“Okay?” Steve asked, very confused. “What about her?”
“It’s hard to explain.”
“Just spit it out!”
“She makes me feel things!” Robin shouted, not loud enough for you to hear but loud enough for Steve to get the point.
Steve squinted at her, as his brain tried to process what Robin had so kindly shared. His eyes widening comically as it all finally clicked.
“You-”
“Yeah.”
“Holy shit.”
“I know.”
“Holy shit.”
“You can stop saying that now.”
“Damn it!”
“What?” Robin questioned.
“I owe Dustin twenty bucks.”
“You bet on me?”
“Yeah, everyone knows you two are whipped for each other.”
“She doesn’t like me back.” Robin said, slightly hurt. “She never will.”
“How will you know if you don’t tell her?”
“She likes boys. She had condoms in one of the boxes! Condoms, Steve! Condoms!”
“Alright, she had condoms, so what? She could’ve still done it with a girl.”
“I highly doubt it.”
“Well you won’t know who and what she likes if you don’t ask her.”
“Steve,” Robin said sternly, “you absolutely cannot say anything.”
“Say anything about what?” You inquired, appearing behind the two causing them to jump at the sound of your voice.
“Don’t worry about it,” Robin waved you off. “Right, Steve?”
"I, uh…"
"Steve?" You asked gently. "You okay?"
"Totally," Steve squeaked.
"You sure? Cause you're looking a little pale."
"Yeah, I just, um-"
"Steve," Robin gritted out. "You're good, right?"
"Alright, what is going on?" You asked as you looked quizzically between the two of them.
"Robin needs to talk to you," Steve blurted, clasping a hand over his mouth.
"Steve!" Robin shouted, whacking his shoulder. “What is wrong with you?”
“I’m sorry!”
“Talk to me about what?”
“I’ll leave you two alone,” Steve said, quickly making his escape and running out of the house, waiting for Jonathan and Nancy to get back.
“Fuck sake, Harrington.” Robin muttered.
“What’s up, Robin?” You asked softly. “Look, whatever it is you're trying to tell me, I would never judge you. We’ve been friends for god knows how long.”
“14 years and 23 days.” Robin whispered as she looked down at her feet.
“What was that?” You questioned and you placed your index finger and thumb under her chin to lift her gaze back on you.
“I’m scared.” Robbin admitted quietly.
“Of what? Of me? What did I do?” You asked a million questions not letting Robin have the chance to speak and further her point.
“You haven’t done anything, it’s just me.”
“Rob, please tell me what's going on.” You questioned as you took her hands in yours.
“I think I’m in love with you.” Robin rushed out and she squeezed her eyes shut, afraid of your reaction.
She felt you freeze in her touch and she immediately let the bad thoughts take over her mind. There were only two thoughts that stood out prominently. One was how you didn’t like her back, let alone love her and the other is that she had just ruined your friendship for, quite possibly, forever.
“Look at me.” You said. “Robin, can you look at me?”
Slowly, Robin peeled her eyes open but she forced herself to look anywhere but at you.
“Look at me.” You said quietly.
Eventually, Robin found the courage somewhere inside of her and she managed to let her eyes meet yours and she instantly felt tears brim her eyes. She felt stupid enough to let one fall but you were quick to wipe it away with the pad of your thumb.
“How long have you been in love with me?”
“Uh… a while.” Robin said sheepishly. “Look, if you're just going to friend zone me, please just do it quickly.”
“Do you mean it?”
“Of course I do. Why wouldn't I?” Robin said as she turned her attention to her feet once again.
“I’m just making sure.” You said and you placed a hand on her cheek, forcing her to look at you. You make eye contact, for what feels like eternity, but can only be a few seconds before you lean in and gently place your lips against hers.
Robin stood there frozen in shock, her head was spinning a million miles per hour and it was as if she was running on autopilot for the time being before she finally registered what was going on and she kissed you back.
As you slowly pull away from each other you lean your foreheads against one another as you let yourselves regain your breaths. As your breathing regulates you lean back in to kiss her again, this time it's more heated.
You place your hands on her waist as she wraps hers around your shoulders, threading her fingers in your hair. She slightly tugs on it making you groan into her mouth before you pick her up and place her onto the kitchen counter.
Robin is quick to wrap her legs around your waist as you two continue to get lost in the pure bliss you were feeling. The kiss wasn't rushed, it wasn't a battle for dominance, it was a kiss of discovery. Every bone in your body was aching for you to do just a little more but you managed to keep yourself calm.
That was until Robin pulled on your hair again and you let out a low moan. Robin took this as a cue to slide her tongue into your mouth. This shocked you a little, but you immediately welcomed it.
Robin moved her hands from your hair to the tops of your shoulders whilst you kept yours on her waist, giving it a gentle squeeze every once in a while. You smiled between the kiss when you felt Robin lean her body more and more into you, so much so, she was barely on the counter anymore.
What you didn't expect was for Robin to start to move her body in a rhythmic way against you. The kiss got more passionate, as if it was a way of telling you that she wanted you.
You pulled her body impossibly closer to you and her legs gripped onto your waist tighter. Slowly, you decided to test the waters a little bit more, and moved your hands up to her shirt-covered ribs, intensifying the kiss.
You started to lose your breath so you moved away from Robin's lips and down to her neck. Using one hand to push aside her hair as the other continued to rub up and down her side.
The feeling of your lips on Robin's neck made her shudder with every kiss that was placed. You pulled your face away, just enough so your noses were touching. You took in her appearance, noticing her blue eyes were dilated, her cheeks coated pink and her lips were swollen.
“You alright there, Buckley?” You questioned as you looked at the woman in your arms.
“Never better.” She smiled as she pulled you back in for a quick peck. “Does this mean you like me back?”
“Depends.” You smirked.
“On what?”
“If you kiss me like that again.”
“If we kiss like that again I think it’ll go a lot further.”
“I’m not opposed to that.”
“Of course you aren't.”
“Would you be?”
“Definitely not.”
You let out a smile before pulling Robin back into a kiss, this time you both knew what you wanted and that was each other. Her hands went to your top and she broke the kiss to pull it over your head. A blush tinted her cheeks as she looked over your body.
“You're staring, Buckley.” You teased as you slowly pulled her t-shirt over her head as well.
“Now who's staring?” She said as she looked at you, running your eyes all over her body.
You moved your hands up from Robin’s waist to her stomach, to her ribs and then to her breasts. You internally beamed when you noticed that Robin's nipples were hardening under your touch.
You leaned down and placed a kiss in the valley of Robin’s breasts causing her to suck in a sharp breath as she waited to see what your next move would be. You lifted your head and went back to kissing her neck. Your hands lightly massaging her breasts as well as you kissing her neck was enough to draw a moan out of Robin.
Robins back arched for your touch as you continued your actions. One of your hands snaked around to her back and unclasped her bra letting it fall to the floor.
You distributed kisses along her neck and collarbone before Robin finally felt your lips meet her nipple. It didn't last long however before you were facing Robin again, slowly moving your hands from her breasts to her thighs.
You squeezed her thighs gently and you watched as Robin's expression turned to one of want and need.
You began to undo Robin’s jeans, who quickly moved off the counter and slid them down her legs. Once they were fully off you picked her up again and made your way to the living room. You sat yourself on the sofa so she was straddling you.
Robin positioned herself so her legs were at either side of yours. Your hands ran up her thighs as you continued to kiss fervently. You brought one of your hands to brush your fingers over her abdomen making Robin’s breath hitch.
“Where do you want me?” You asked as you kissed along Robin's jaw.
“Lower, I need you lower.” Robin pleaded as she squeezed her fingers around your hand, tugging you south.
“You sure?”
“Yes, please touch me.”
Your hand moved down, teasing at the waistline of her panties and moving to graze at the lining around the top of her thighs. Robin let out a small whine, and with a shove of her hips into your hand your fingers brushed over her clothed core. It only gave you a mere taste of how wet she really was.
“Please, stop teasing me.”
You slip one hand into her panties and she shifts, spreading her legs a little wider and creating a gap for you to touch her more accurately. Your fingers brush her clit and she releases a filthy groan, accompanied with a whimper of your name.
“Y/n, please.” Robin whimpers.
"Alright, sweetheart, I’ve got you." you whisper, pressing your lips to the lobe of her ear.
Carefully you enter a finger into her, not wanting to hurt her. She squeezed your shoulders and encouraged you to continue. The movements of your finger inside of Robin and you kissing against her neck causes her volume to increase.
She moans, and you revel in the feeling of the vibrations from her throat against your lips as you suck at her neck. As her moans got louder you slowly started to increase your pace.
“Oh shit, y/n.” Robin moaned loudly.
You slid in a second finger causing a louder moan to come from Robin who arched her back into you. You moved from kissing Robin's neck to her breasts before you moved up to properly kiss her.
Robin kissed you desperately whilst trying to conceal her moans with your mouth. You bit her lip and curled your fingers in Robin who came onto your fingers with a cry of your name.
You waited for her breathing to regulate and come down from her high before you took your fingers out of her. You brought your fingers to your mouth and sucked on them whilst keeping your eyes locked on hers.
Robin bit her lip at the sight and pulled your hand away from your mouth so she could pull you into a kiss. You both moaned as you could taste Robin present in the kiss.
“That was…” Robin said quietly as she ran her hands over your shoulders. “...wow.”
You smiled, leaning forwards as you placed two hands, cupping each of Robin’s cheeks as your eyes ran across the cluster of freckles on her face. You placed tiny kisses along them and you felt Robin giggle against your body.
“I’m glad you enjoyed it.” You smiled as you pulled away.
“I don't want to move.” Robin said as she leaned into your chest, allowing you to wrap your arms around her.
“Me either.” You whispered. “But Nancy and Jonathan should be back soon and I'm not particularly fond of them seeing me in my bra.”
“Can you carry me? My legs are a little sore.”
“Of course, let's get you all ready so we can have pizza.”
You carried Robin back into the kitchen and helped her put on her clothes whilst you only had to put your top back on. You gave her a glass of water and you seemed to have finished just in time as the three of your friends came tumbling in with many pizza boxes in hand.
“It smells of sex in here.” Nancy pointed out.
“I don't know what youre talking about.” You smiled as you wrapped an arm around Robin's waist and she leaned her head against your shoulder.
“What happened whilst we were out?” Nancy questioned as she looked to Steve for answers.
“Don't look at me.” Steve said as he put his hands up in surrender. “I was waiting outside for the pizza.”
“Hey Nance?” You asked.
“Yeah?”
“Why do the pizzas smell of sex then?” You smirked. “Please, do tell me, what happened whilst you were out?”
“Oh shut up and eat your pizza.” Nancy said as she shoved a box into your hand.
“Yes ma’am.”
“Do you think they’ll find out what we did?” Robin whispered once the others had made their way into the living room.
“They’re as thick as they come, until it's a life threatening situation. I think we’ll be alright.”
“I love you.” Robin smiled as she took a bite of her pizza.
“I love you too, so much.”
“Hey, guys! Why is there a weird stain on the sofa?” Steve questioned. “I thought it was new?”
“On second thought.” You chuckled. “They may already know.”
“I’m alright with that.”
“Me too.”

heaven knows i’m miserable now
Tumblr media
synopsis: robin buckley x fem!reader
synopsis: you haven’t seen robin since sophomore year when you broke her heart. now, with supernatural forces terrorizing the town, you get a second chance at making amends when you get wrapped up in the fight against vecna.
word count: 2.6k
warnings: homophobia
a/n: robin my smolest tiniest bby :3
now playing:
════ ⋆★⋆ ════
You snuck a glance across the basement of the library, to where she was sitting. The immeasurable distance she put between you two didn’t go unnoticed by you. Instead, she spent her time conversing with Nancy Wheeler, who clearly seemed irritated by her constant rambling. You found it adorable, of course, just as you found anything she did just lovable.
Nancy was the one in charge of this whole operation, breaking away from the rest of the group to look into Victor Creel. When Robin volunteered to accompany her, you thought it only fitting that you should too. You would follow Robin anywhere.
Sadly, you fucked it all up before it even truly began.
She didn’t talk to you at all since you split from the group. She didn’t like to talk to you at all, really.
You took this time to actually look through files and newspaper archives as you were supposed to, to distract yourself from your current, miserable predicament. After all, you still needed to find out what happened to your best friend Chrissy. The gruesome nature of her death was enough to convince you that it couldn't have been the deed of a human.
Meanwhile, Robin was trying her best not to talk Nancy’s ear off. She used to do that with you, but obviously, couldn't and will not anymore.
“Just so you know. I mean Steve’s like, a total dingus, but a fun dingus, you know? We share a lot of laughs, but we’re totally friends. Platonic, with a capital P.”
“Got it.” Nancy grimaced. “Why do you care so much what I think about you and Steve? I mean—Don’t you have your own thing to worry about?”
“W-What do you mean?” Robin stammered.
Nancy didn’t reply, and only pointed her head towards where you were standing at the far side of the room, rummaging through papers.
“I don’t know what you mean.”
“Robin.” The brunette laughed quietly. “I’ve seen the way she looks at you, and the way you look at her when you think she doesn’t notice. What happened between you two?”
Robin swallowed a lump in her throat. “Nothing. Nothing, okay? Let’s just . . . keep looking.”
“Hey, guys?” You called, eyebrows furrowed. “I think I found something.”
════ ⋆★⋆ ════
You broke the surface, and were met with pitch black.
You dove into darkness, and were kicking and kicking, only hoping to find a portal like the rest of the group predicted. You didn’t even know what to expect, all you knew was that you wanted to keep Robin safe, even if it meant diving headfirst into the lake, not knowing what you’d find at the bottom.
The realm they called the Upside Down was nothing short of terrifying. An exact replica of your own, but plagued in darkness, parasitic vines, and demonic bats, all connected to this Vecna.
This was your chance, you thought, on the way to the Wheelers’ house, or at least a version of it in this hellhole.
You jogged to where Robin was walking alongside Nancy. As you thought of something to say, a branch caught on Robin’s foot. Instinctively, you extended your arms and caught her just in time before she face-planted.
“Careful.” You said, smiling softly.
“I’m fine.” Robin grumbled, and pushed herself off of you.
You took that as a warning. No touching it was.
“So,” you breathed out slowly, “I heard you got the highest grade in Hauser’s class last year. I mean, it’s not surprising. You’re you, after all.”
“Thanks.” Robin replied halfheartedly, avoiding your gaze.
“You know, I started reading more after you showed me the books that you liked, and I’m sure Hauser was glad that I did. My English grades were not good.” You chuckled quietly. Silence. “I read Dune. Maybe when all of this blows over, we can talk about it sometimes?”
“Look, I know what you’re trying to do, okay? But it’s not gonna work.” She snapped, stopping in her tracks. “I’m not gonna fall for this again.”
“Robin, I just wanted to—“
“Forget it, just forget it, Y/N.” She kept walking. “Please don’t talk to me anymore.”
Steve and Nancy shared a look.
You only watched as Robin continued her strides, ignoring the pang in your heart.
“Hey,” Steve said softly, “don’t be discouraged. You know Robin isn’t one to admit her feelings right away.”
“She hates me, Steve.” You said, attempting to swallow your tears. “I’ll never get the chance again.”
Up ahead, Robin was kicking the soil under her feet, as she swallowed her frustration. Who did you think you were? She just got so angry at you that she made a scene in front of everyone. Stupid, stupid, stupid . . .
“Hey there, Buckley.”
Robin did a double-take. Ever since this started, she hasn’t talked to Eddie at all, at least not one-on-one. Yet, here he was, stealing glances back at you as he walked beside her.
“Hey, Eddie.” She mumbled.
“Sounded pretty intense back there.”
“It’s fine,” she sighed. “Don’t worry about it.”
“Y/L/N struck a nerve of yours? These popular kids, they really do know how to get under your skin, don’t they? Except . . . Y/N isn't like the other popular kids though, is she?"
Robin furrowed her eyebrows. "What?"
"Did you two fall out? Y/L/N ditched you for the meatheads?"
Robin sighed. Eddie's nosiness felt very familiar, and the fact that he felt so comfortable with her to be this nosy was surprising. Maybe this was what Nancy felt too. "Yeah," she said, "something like that."
"She was ready to dive in headfirst after you."
"Y/N has a weird hero complex. She would dove in for anyone."
"Y/N Y/L/N? Star of the Tigers cheer squad? Hawkins' resident heartbreaker? Nah, I don't think so." Eddie shook his head. “Look, I don’t mean to pry. It’s just . . . kinda weird between you two. With Vecna running around preying on trauma-ridden teenagers, you don’t want to be holding grudges.”
Robin knew he was right. But it wasn’t her that needed to repent, it was you.
She thought about what song would be the one that saves her. Would her friends know her enough to pick one that would rescue her from Vecna’s grasp? Would you know?
“Hey, uh, if I start floating or whatever, anything by Fleetwood Mac would work fine.” She said to the group, half-joking.
“Motley Crüe for me, or Black Sabbath.” Eddie added.
“I—uh, pfft. Guess I’m a goner.” Steve blew raspberry.
“Y/N. Y/N?” You turned to Nancy, who pointed her flashlight at your shoes. “Let’s go.”
You didn’t realize you were staring off into the distance. Why were there grandfather clock chimes in the middle of the woods?
════ ⋆★⋆ ════
Dustin, the genius child, connected the dots that led you and the group here, to Eddie’s trailer where Chrissy was killed to return back to the normal world. One by one, you climbed through the portal, the laws of physics completely thrown out the window as you watched Robin, Eddie, then Nancy climb up, and fall onto the mattress.
It was your turn. You jumped onto the makeshift ladder made from Eddie’s bedsheets as Steve held it steady, and pushed yourself up. Up, up, until you felt the force of gravity pull you toward the ground.
But you kept falling and falling and falling, until you landed with a thud on hard concrete. You were on school grounds, in front of the main entrance, where two years ago, you blew your secret.
“Y/N.” A low, gutteral voice sounded.
Blood ran cold along your neck.
You were its next victim.
“Do you blame yourself, Y/N? Heartbreaker. Was the popularity contest worth it?”
“No.” You whispered to yourself, and shook your head frantically.
It wasn’t. It wasn’t worth it when you took up on that bet that Jason made with you.
“C’mon, Y/N. It shouldn’t be that hard, should it? Buckley’s a little band nerd, and a queer.” You remembered Jason’s sneering laughter. “You’re not queer too, are you?”
“You played with someone’s heart to keep your place among the cool kids. Was it worth it, Y/N?”
Robin paid you no mind when you first approach her, almost like she believed herself that someone liked you had no time for someone like her. It took you a while for her to finally ask you out, almost exceeding the three months Jason initially bet on you.
It wasn’t worth it, you knew that, because you started to like it when you press your body against hers, feeling her protective arms wrap around yourself, feeling the softness of her lips brush against your own.
It wasn’t worth it when you said those three words, which was a part of your ploy, except you meant every word, and your heart felt like it would explode hearing her say them back to you.
It wasn’t worth it, at all, because you fell in love with Robin Buckley.
And when you saw the tears streaming down her cheeks with the most pained look of betrayal on her face in the pouring rain, you knew for sure. It was not worth it.
Not one single bit.
“Y/N! Y/N!! FUCK!” Robin shouted. “Shit! Shit! Shit! What do we do?”
“What’s her favorite song?” Nancy yelled back.
“What?”
“Her favorite song, Robin! You’re the only one here that knows her!”
“I—uh . . .” Robin stammered, trying her hardest to calm her racing brain to think.
What was your favorite song? She had spent almost a year and a half trying to forget every little detail about you, after having memorized them every single day. Your favorite song . . . It’s been years. Would it even work?
“U-Uh, Psychedelic Furs! Play Psychedelic Furs!”
“I-I don’t have that!” Dustin stammered, his voice cracking, as he looked through his tapes.
“God damn it! Play—“
She remembered. On a hot July afternoon, in her room, you sat between her legs, head rested against her chest, as you giggled excitedly watching her listen to a song you showed her.
“I didn’t think you’d like this kind of music.”
“Why? Because I’m a cheerleader, I’m not allowed to like The Smiths?” You teased.
“N-No, i-it’s just—“ Robin chuckled. “I’m surprised, that’s all. I guess there’s still a lot I don’t know about you.”
“Well then, you better get to it, Buckley, because I’m a very impatient girl.” You smirked, drawing her closer by the cord of the headphones.
“Don’t mind if I do.” She leaned down to you for a firm kiss.
“‘Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now’, The Smiths!” As soon as the words left her mouth, Dustin sorted through his tapes, and before long he had placed the headphones around your ears and blasted the song.
When you regained consciousness, Robin was all you could see, hear, and touch. You tightened your grip around her, choked sobs in between incessant ‘I’m sorry’s escaped your mouth like a broken record.
════ ⋆★⋆ ════
The only time you finally got a moment’s peace was late at night, when everyone became exhausted and fell asleep. Free of their interrogation as to what you saw in your waking nightmare—much of which you lied about, they didn’t need to know the exact details—you wrapped a blanket around yourself and leaned back against the couch in the Wheelers’ basement.
The stillness of the room gave some for your own thoughts to arise. Then it sudden hit you; you almost died, and it would have been a painful death, a torment both on your mental state as well as your physical. You didn’t want to go like that, and looking around the room, you felt so lucky that these people were there to prevent you from dying. You needed better friends, and you could only hope they accept you after all this is over.
A glass of water was placed in front of you on the table, and you turned to look to realize it was Robin. She retracted her hand and sat next to you.
“Thank you.” You croaked, and reached for the glass.
Gulp. The silence was deafening. It was making you nervous.
“Thank you,” you said finally, “for saving me back there.”
“I was just guessing.” Robin shrugged, fumbling with her fingers. “I didn’t think it would work. It’s been . . .”
“Yeah. Been quite a while. But it’s still my favorite song, because . . .” you drew a breath before continuing, “because it made me realize that I was in love with you.”
Robin clenched her jaw. “Y/N . . .”
“Please let me finish, and then after this, you won’t ever have to talk to me again if you don’t want to, I promise.” You said a bit louder, then stopped when you saw Lucas turning in his sleep.
“All my life, I’ve felt this pressure sitting on my chest, like a devil, just holding my head underwater. Everyone just had these expectations they held of me, and I was scared of what would happen if I failed them. And then . . .”you laughed quietly, “then you came along, and you treated me like I wasn’t Y/N Y/L/N, like I was just a normal, stinking girl you liked to hang out with.
“I can’t change my past actions, and I know I hurt you. Believe me, I know.”You whispered, wiping tears away. “But I will not give up on you because our relationship is the most meaningful thing I’ve had in my 18 years of life, even if it was based on a lie.”
You brought your hands to your face. The cries that clawed at your throat escaped in choked sobs through the gaps of your fingers.
Robin sat there dumbfounded. All this time she thought she was just one of your toys, that she gave you her heart and you would mercilessly stomp on it and toss it away to find a new one to torment. She was at her lowest when she learned that you only went out with her because of a bet you made with the popular kids, and it made her feel stupid and small. But she also loved you fiercely—as fiercely as her naive, little 16-year-old self could have loved—and it pained her to admit that she would have done anything for you.
Robin grasped your hands slowly, setting them down on your lap, before bringing up her own to gently wipe away the tears that have wet your cheeks.
“You’re still pretty even when you cry.” She mumbled to herself, but she was sure you heard.
“You wanna come over to mine next weekend and watch Dune? You said you read the book.” She asked. “If we’re not all dead, I mean.”
The look of surprise and bewilderment on your face was so adorable, she only wanted to kiss you. “I want to go slow. I still have a lot of unresolved angst and heartbreak that shaped my late teen years from you.”
“Y-Yeah. I mean, yes.” You said, and sniffled, a smile cracked on your lips. “I’ll come over.”
She nodded, still fumbling with her fingers. Then in one quick motion, swiped across your face with a quick kiss.
You sunk back into the couch with a lovesick grin, heat crawling up your neck.
On the other side of the table, Steve lay facing away, but he was grinning like an idiot.
“Steve, you can drop the act now. We know you’re not asleep.”

Hi could I please request some fluffy headcanons on what the first sleepover would be like if you had a sleepover with Billy, Robin, Eddie, or Steve? Like what movies you'd watch if you watch movies together, that sort of thing? Sorry if you've already done something like this!
yesss i love this - i kinda did it like if the sleepover was with their s.o but this could also be read as platonic
eddie munson
i'm convinced eddie probably didn't have many sleepovers as a kid so he's gonna go all out
he'll re-arrange all the sofas in the living room so you can sleep in there
FUCKING PILLOW FORTS
he's like an excited child honestly it's adorable
he'll probably plan out what movies you're gonna watch
instinctively, eddie goes for horror movies because a) they're his favourite and b) he likes when you grab onto him bc you're scared
but he's also down for a john hughes marathon
he is also a massive indiana jones fan
eddie loves to drape a blanket over you both
and there's a very high likelihood that he'll fall asleep on your shoulder
steve harrington
sleepovers with steve would probably be impromptu but also most likely a result of having to babysit six rabid young teenagers
most the time he can do it himself, ok?? but every mum needs a break
so he'll call you up at like 9pm to come give him a hand and save his sanity and you're there within half an hour with popcorn, snacks and blankets
the kids probably pass out around 11pm and that's when you two can finally chill out
it also means you can finally watch horror films !! because 5/6 kids would be fine with them but if dustin henderson's mother ever found out she would skin steve alive
he normally picks up a bunch from work to watch whenever so rest assured you have plenty of viewing material
similar to eddie, steve fucking loves huddling up under a blanket with you
he'll have one arm around your waist, a hand on your thigh and he'll probably tangle your fingers together too
bastard eats all the popcorn tho
robin buckley
robin fucking LOVES sleepovers
even though you stay over at each other's houses 99% of the time she insists that sleepovers are specifically different
blanket forts, popcorn, the latest movies, she's going all out
girl is literally giddy w excitement
it normally starts with you guys watching whatever movie she's picked up from the store
then she'll organise a shitty blanket fort and hang a torch at the top to act as a light
she loves to play card games and sometimes drinking games but after an hour or two, they're completely discarded and you guys just end up having deep ass conversations til like 5am
sometimes they're not even deep. they're just silly tbh
and then you'll realise the time and go watch the sunrise together on the back porch wrapped in a blanket
