Robert knocked repeatedly on the door of the Coffee Spoon, leaning up against the wall next to it. At this point in the early morning, he isn't sure how much longer he'll be awake, but he knows he'll need something to deal with the hangover from a long night of drinking...or at least, help rid himself of the headache before it begins. It wouldn't cure him by any means, but some caffeine may help.
Most of his nights were like that, filled with alcohol and deep thoughts, rather than sleeping, like most people. He's been in the Spoon a fair number of times, brooding over a cup of coffee when a headache is pounding after the night was drowned by booze. So he decides this morning, he's going to at least try and beat the headache. He's going to have the coffee before hand. That is, if Mat is actually here. He raps his scarred knuckles against the door with renewed vigor, finishing off his cigarette before shoving his hand in the pocket of his leather jacket, the other hand resting against the door. Giving him a few moments to hopefully come to the door. He knew it was too early for the shop to be open but, if Mat was here, he might just let him in and indulge him in a cup of coffee.
He brushed a hand through his grey-streaked brown hair, tired, soft brown eyes raising to watch as the sun was beginning to make the sky glow. His day ran backwards- he usually woke as the sun set and slept when it began to rise. Might be twisted, but it was his usual way. And it was hard to get out of his usual but hey, he was branching out a little today.

Robert most likely spends just about every morning at the coffee spoon (he needs his caffeine fix especially being a drink all night kinda guy) so you know he’s gotta have at least some sort of relationship with Mat.
Can you imagine how he reacted to all the band puns? I mean, my man knows his music and he loves a good reference. He probably walked in precisely because the name caught his attention, and then proceeded to quote that line from the poem it came from.
Meanwhile Mat is all heart eyes for this guy-- this fuckign guy, who, at first glance Mat thought to be the Most Intimidating Man he’d ever laid eyes upon. But gosh, he knows the poem! It’s the first costumer (at least to his knowledge) that got the reference!! He can really get behind this. He can also very clearly tell Robert is hungover, so he quickly fixes him up a piping hot cup of Godspeed you! Black coffee and a piece of his world (town?) famous carrot cake (on the house) and they just bond over bands that they like all morning.
Anyway im desperate for more RobMat

whenever robert visits the coffee spoon he’ll sit somewhere close to the entrance and mutter different variations of panic! at the disco like “anxiety! at the discotheque” and “paranoia! within the club” but just loud enough so that mat will hear and start losing his shit behind the counter
