Day 53 of drawing every @falloutboy song! Today is Rat A Tat featuring Andy! I think that it was really cool how all the weapons in ybc were made out of instruments; really fit the vibe of the era!

Having a fucking mental breakdown over my college classes and coping by having the Rat-A-Tat music video playing on repeat on my tv as I read the assignment instructions through tears and wondering why the FUCK I’m a literature theatric major

Does anybody know why Courtney Love was removed from the recording of Rat a tat by Fall Out Boy?

i would always skip rat a tat when listening through save rock and roll because although it’s a FANTASTIC song, I kind of hated courtney love’s feature. not that she’s not great, she’s great, but part of me was just like how. how on earth did patrick let this happen. he’s so meticulous with everything and courtneys solo part is so offbeat and crooked to my ears that I was just kind of stunned with how not great it was. It’s a great song but that one part (run boy, run boy, run for your life) just hurt me so bad to listen to that I had to skip it every time.
finn told me this, when I told them about it: look, the clues are in the writing. As soon as you’re in the song, patrick asks you, “Are you ready for another bad poem? One more off key anthem”. and that made me realize. oh. Patrick is just so meticulous at everything he does that he’d leave a song horribly off kilter to fulfill foreshadowing. it all made sense
