TROUBLE MAKER. Do not be deceived! #Toupee has this amazing ability to look sooooo sweet and innocent whilst doing naughty things! She will pounce on her sisters when they’re peacefully sleeping, steal their valuables, push them over on their backs as they cry for her to stop and then run away to rip apart everything in her path! All whilst looking so damn cute! 😆  And god forbid, should anyone do the same thing back to her…. she cries and screams so loudly, you’d think she was being attacked by a bear! 😹  Sometimes I lightly scold her when she gets too crazy, but then she looks up at me with that face and I end up just giving her a lot of kisses! Toupee is a lot of fun and definitely keeps things colorful in this house! I absolutely had to paint little Merlin's portrait as soon as I saw his sweet face and all those WHISKERS! 🥰😂 Merlin is a retired lab rat and a member of @popcornsmischief (a mischief is the name for a group of rats 😉), whom you should totally follow for cute rat photos and videos! 🤗 · I think this is my first rat portrait, which is crazy because I absolutely love rats. I think they make just about the perfect pet: they're as smart and as sweet as dogs, as clean as cats, they can learn to use a litter box, but they're small and quiet and make great apartment pets. My rattie boys (several years ago) knew they weren't allowed in the kitchen and would go back in their cage when we told them to. They were always so excited when we got home and loved to spend time with us. The only downside about rats is their short lifespan - on average between 2-3 years. THE GREAT ESCAPE. #Mizu escaped from her carrier! To backtrack, because she has a broken arm, Mizu has to temporarily sleep in a confined space (carrier) away from her sisters. Welp. Mizu is a very social #rattie and doesn’t do well isolated, so the carrier has been hell for her. Every night she throws things around, climbs the front door grid and reaches out her little hands through the bars. It’s heartbreaking! Since she has so much anxiety in the carrier, I keep it next to me on my bed so she can see me when she sleeps. Well, this morning when I opened my eyes and looked over at the carrier, I realized Mizu had completely eaten her way through the plastic walls and escaped! I panicked and gasped! BUT suddenly, just as I gasped, I felt something move on my neck! And when I looked, I found Mizu curled up on my shoulder asleep! And look at her body…who sleeps like that?!?! Is that even comfortable?!? She cracks me up!!! 😂 I can’t believe she broke out of the carrier just to then crawl up to me and sleep.
