Unpopular opinion: I think Han Solo has some Force-sensitivity

strongly agree | agree | neutral | disagree | strongly disagree

I’m torn on this one. 

On one hand, I think it fits nicely into the idea that the Force is not reserved only for the Jedi. Because in the end, what is the Force but being able to read energies between living things, to tap into those energies, to “read the vibes,” so to speak and trust your gut instinct? 

It’s just the Jedi are over-sensitive, in a way, to these quantum-level shifts and developed an entire religion and society around it. So yes, given Han Solo’s incredibly lucky streak and prowess with his weapon and piloting, I don’t think it’s out of the question.

On the other hand, I feel like this reliance on the Force to explain extraordinary skills lessens the idea of hard work and practice. Han is damn good at what he does. Nature or nurture? Or both? Is he good because he has a natural affinity which he developed or because he has some kind of low-level Force ability. I’m reticent to attribute all extraordinary feats to supernatural (so to speak) powers as it diminishes the actual hard work and practice that is all part of becoming proficient at a skill (whether it be shooting, piloting, smuggling, music, etc.)

So I am wholly on the fence with this one.

He looks mostly orange to me… ����‍♀️

There is definitely an orange tone to his skin, but that doesn’t make logical sense either, and can be chalked up to how saturated is the screen you’re seeing him on. His mother is green, his father is brown. He should either have one of those, or have a mesh of skin tone like the twi’lek/human hybrids in Clone Wars do. One of the examples @exitiumparit​ gave me of this was this child, who’s skin appears to be a mix of a human- Caucasian with very pink tones to their skin- and a blue twi’lek (would be my guess anyways). This child is a MUCH more believable hybrid than Jacen Syndulla is. I love Jacen he is my son, but what on earth is the logic behind his design?

Jango IS Mandalorian! He's just not from Mandalore but he was born in the Mandalore system on Concord Dawn!

Well, in EU, certainly. But they have technically dissolved that and seem to frame Jango saying he was born in Concord Dawn as an unfounded fact. They regard Jango as a “pretender” when he wears the Mandalorian armor.

I don’t know what they get from doing that to his character, but hopefully things can change in the future.

Haha, it’s my laptops fault probably! Even though I calibrated it before, it still has a different calibration than my PC’s monitor, so sometimes colors came out quite differently. It does look like she’s having a bit greenish skin on my monitor too. Maybe I should just stick with b&w, when I’m working from my laptop :”D

favorite 80s movie ?

If you follow my main @roguestar15 you'll know I love Star Wars so my favorite 80s movie is probably The Empire Strikes Back or even Return of The Jedi. Except SW movies, my favorite movie that came out in the 80s and takes place in the 80s has to be Back to the Future. It's a perfect film.

I read somewhere that maybe he inherited something of his grandfather’s side since Cham is orange. So it’s not impossible, but I think mostly his design was a little rushed. I think they wanted to give him Kanan’s eye color but messed it up and gave him blue eyes instead of teal. They’ll probably fix those things in future iterations of the character.

That’s possible. I know I’ve seen that his hair and eyes were supposed to be inherited from his mother’s skin tone, but genetically that doesn’t make sense either. It’s also just very odd that in Clone Wars the hybrids look far more like twi’leks vs Jacen looking far more human, despite that Filoni worked on both shows. Even if its a rushed design they should still have the basis on how the racial features should look from past hybrids in Clone Wars. Rushed designs are no excuse for an inconsistency that major. There are a million better ways to design that character that don’t look nearly as horrid.
