A relationship with Rohan Kishibe

A/N: Rohan Kishibe? More like, Rohan KishiBAE— alright I'm out

- So... Your heart decided to pound harder than usual because of the manga artist, eh? Honestly, same, he's secretly a softie and will deny it to death.

- Like, he's the type of dude who will scoff at you for liking this one cute and childish thing (let's say a doll or stuffed toy) and be like;

"What are you? Five?"

But then he's away and suddenly lays eyes upon the aforementioned object of your desire and it reminds him of you and buys it for you. He won't admit that he was absolutely soft at the sight of your gleaming, joy-filled eyes and how he would do just about anything to see it again... Maybe it would be a perfect opportunity for manga!

"It's seldom to see true happiness, more than often some people try hard to look happy even if they aren't. Every expression is beautiful, all the miniscule detail and how it tells a different story......." Then he goes on and on about the beauty of facial expressions and emotions.

- I get the feeling he falls for people who are kind, understanding, patient enough to deal with his nonsense, but someone who will stick up for themselves and make sure Rohan doesn't cross any line (Because let us admit, Rohan needs an impulse control). Someone who will listen to him, give him honest opinions about things, give him interesting anecdotes to draw inspiration from, loyal, supportive, encouraging, inspiring, reliable etc etc... Sounds familiar? I just described Koichi. But he's not falling for Koichi, just sayin'.

- Three years before Rohan asked you to move in with him in his home town Morioh, you were on a date in Italy. He particularly enjoys bringing his camera around to take photographs of beautiful architectures... And of course, capturing magnificent frames of sheer perfection, aka you. His reasons for going to Italy with you was to draw inspiration to write horror by going to the oddly serene places with underlying dark histories but of course, it would be perfect for your two year anniversary. He absentmindedly wanders around to the point he'd get lost, that you were almost tempted to attach him to a harness.

And not to mention, how he entered a Priest's side confession booth and was mistaken as a priest. And Rohan being Rohan, took this as an opportunity for manga material. You didn't know about it, until he told you on your flight back to home.

- Duwang Gang mostly refer to you as Rohan's sane roommate. You weren't the affectionate couple in public and it really does look like you two are actually just roomies and bros. Rohan doesn't bother to correct them because he thinks about the look in their faces once they find out so you went along with it. Not to mention, how people might take advantage of you in some way because of him. His fans come to mind, as they might approach you and would ask you questions about him, questions that are uncomfortable. Additionally, how disruptive they are of your privacy. He adores his fans, but some fans are... Yikes. And he wouldn't stand for it.

- Gosh, it would be a beautiful disaster when you're with him. It is silent most of the time in the house, Rohan is peacefully in his office working on his manga, with you quietly bringing intervals by bringing him food and drinks (something he is grateful for). You're more than welcome to be in the office with him as long as you aren't being disruptive, in fact he likes it. You're free to loom over his shoulder, he really doesn't mind you watching him draw. Just, silent peaceful moments like these, ya know? His version of domestic bliss...

- But when something happens, it hits hard. Let me list three of many moments in which something happened in the Kishibe + L/N resident:

• The incident of him holding Koichi captive. You were unaware with this because work kept you occupied. You only found out when you ran in the house in a panic when you saw the windows breaking on your way home, only to find your 'roommate' Rohan under the knocked over shelves, cowering from a high school boy with a weird bird's nest of a hair. After that, you were involved with the house's reparations and played as referee whenever Josuke and Rohan crossed paths.

• When he fainted due to sleep deprivation back when you didn't live in Morioh yet, you were in so much panic that you cried while tending to him and was informed by the doctor that Rohan's conditions were severe. And when he woke up you were bawling tears of joy, holding onto Rohan's hands as if by letting go you might lose him again. Then he asks you to fetch a notebook and describe to him what he had looked like when he fainted, making a remark about you not taking a picture of him for reference.

And honestly, there are plenty more.

- The relationship was inevitably made known after the longest of times the three main dumbasses and dorks have shrugged you off as Rohan's close friend, bestie, roommate, colleague, sidekick, family, good pal, buddy— when the three dorks and dumbasses spotted you and Rohan. Okuyasu thinking he can score a free meal from the lovely couple, something that Josuke and Koichi found disrespectful at first, agreed and was just about to approach your table when —

"Ah, Ro, you have something in your eye,"

The manga artist pauses, your face inching near and your hand holding his face. He felt your thumb run under his eyes gently, when you suddenly inched further and closed the distance between you.

The thee students froze in their places, jaws slacked and eyes wide.

The merry couple were unaware of this, cherishing the small moment as you giggle at Rohan's reddened face.

"You cheeky thing! I'll get you next time!"

And then suddenly, there were third wheelers joining your table and bombarding you questions.

Josuke was asking questions like, "Are you sure you're not being held captive? Is he using Heaven's door on you?"

"Blink twice if you need help." Okuyasu adds.

Josuke is half joking and concerned and shock. Okuyasu is completely devastated and shock too. Koichi is the only one that can read the atmosphere and sensed Rohan's rising temperament, so he bids the couple congratulations before dragging Josuke and Okuyasu away from your table.

But Rohan will admit, the shock in their faces was hilarious, he wished he had taken a picture.

- He purposely kept you away from getting involved in the Kira case in order to protect you. He does speak about the case with you, but he forbids you from getting yourself to work in the case. If you're particularly stubborn, he'd be hesitant to use Heaven's Door on you but if you keep going behind his back to investigate, he's going to use it on you.

- So yeah Cheap Trick arc happened and he was strongly rejecting the idea of letting you help him, but you to insisted and wore a blindfold and whack away at him. It didn't go well.

- After the Kira case it was back to normal. At least, what you consider as normal when you're with Rohan. He was back at it with the manga, using what had transpired at the summer of 1999 as inspiration.

- At this point you've been in a relationship for five years and have known one another for two decades and well...

"Y/N, I don't know what I'll do without you. Will you be with me forever?" 💍

Short and seemingly simple, but to him it's complex beyond words

- Once he's proposed, he's sure of it. No second-guessing, second thoughts, nope. Zero. He knows he loves you (and knows that he might not last long without you, even if he is in denial) and he knows you're the only one for him.

You were the first person who always hears his story ideas, you were there to encourage him to keep going, you were always there to watch as he progresses with the stories and illustrations, you were always giving him praises and compliments, you were always telling him, "That's so beautiful, Rohan! I can't wait to see the final results!"

And do you know how special that is to him? How intimate of how he shares his passion with you? Do you have any idea— how he thrives to inspire people around the globe, to make them feel things beyond human emotions— because you inspire him?

- He clearly loves you and he certainly put a ring on it 😙💍💅
