anyway, Pope Francis is dumb as hell, he praises Russia's anti-Catholic, barbaric history.
russians: persecute catholics and destroy their country (e.g. after they invaded poland, they closed many roman catholic churches and turned them into orthodox churches, they did not allow people to build catholic churches, they persecuted priests, they hanged many priests who were against russian occupation, Tsarina Catherine personally forbade any contact with Rome, Nicholas I closed many monasteries, churches in poland (1832), he stole their property (1842), he sent many priests to forced labour, e.g. they sent many to Siberia for hard labor, + they especially hated and persecuted greek catholics/byzantine rite catholics)
Pope Francis: what a wonderful legacy 😍

Pray the Rosary; Satan Hates It
And a great sign appeared in heaven: A woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars: And being with child, she cried travailing in birth, and was in pain to be delivered. And there was seen another sign in heaven: and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads, and ten horns: and on his heads seven diadems: And his tail drew the third part of…

Transition
(TW: transition and detransition discussion, Catholic guilt.)
(Note: I'm using feminine pronouns to talk about a trans man who's now detransitioning. Please respect her choice by respecting her current pronouns and gender identity.)
A few days ago, I had a "fight" (more like a friendship crisis, really) with my best friends. Us three are all Roman Catholic (I'm a Lapsed Catholic though), in which two of us are trans men. The topic of being trans in the Church came up, so the cisgender friend reaffirmed that we were mortal sinning for "crossdressing" and "mutilating our body" with hormones. Which, yes, Roman Catholicism, especially the Pope, has been adament on trans people being a menace and generally being abominations. But it's not something that hurt me personally.
My other friend though... She has been detransitioning to not lose her best friend.
She is scared of God and of losing our common friend, whom could be considered her (platonic) soulmate with how close they are. And we made a rule to not ever talk about the topic between the three of us to avoid that friendship crisis again, where she got scared of losing her best friend.
I can't help but feel... so worried. A religion where you can't question rules or exceptions is a cult, isn't it? We were made to follow God of our own free will, not from mindless obedience.
Not that I do not support detransitioners. All of you are welcome on my blog, it's just as important to talk about your experiences, and you deserve to live your true self no matter what paths it takes you to discover who you are. I love you detransitioners.
My worry lately is just... Well, I'm not too worried about myself, I already accepted my stance as a trans man in Roman Catholicism, and I have many opinions backed up ahah. I'm just worried about...
Well, about Roman Catholicism chaining people in fear, like my friend, rather than guide her and deliver her from whichever obstacle restrains her from worshipping God with all inches of her body and mind.

My icon i wrote of the Magdalene was blessed at Mass this morning, in the orthodox fashion (or as close as one can get in the Western rite) - the vicar slipped it under the corporal, and the elements were consecrated upon it.
Deo gratias!

There is no such thing as progressive Roman Catholicism.
I see people acting like you can be a Roman Catholic and, for example, a queer ally, but those things are in conflict with eachother. In the end, you have to choose what ethics do you follow.
Your spirituality is yours, but the Church is an organisation with its own ideology and practices. No matter if you agree, its official doctrine is bigoted in many ways. No matter how appalled you are, the covering up of pedophilia is systemic. By aligning yourself with the Roman Catholic Church you are supporting the organisation doing all of that and more, and it's no longer a matter of your personal religious life. For the priests' services you're trading the lives of your most vulnerable neighbours.
I know it can be extremely hard, even terrifying, to leave after being indoctrinated. But some things are beyond repair. You can practice some form of Christianity in ways that don't harm other people. If you are not a bigot, you are likely already a heretic anyway by the Vatican's standards.
Only when the Church will loose lay people's support it can lose its power to destroy lives.
