“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28
This verse brings comfort and hope to us. For every believer in Jesus, who loves and follows Him, God is working to make all things work for our good.
You may be in a mess, today, but God can turn it into a message. Every trial you have been put through can turn into a testimony for the glory of God. Take heart and wait patiently for the Lord. Your trials will make you stronger and bolder. You can never be defeated when God is on your side. You are an overcomer!

‭Romans 8:28-29 (AMP)‬. “And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose. For those whom He foreknew [and loved and chose beforehand], He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son [and ultimately share in His complete sanctification], so that He would be the firstborn [the most beloved and honored] among many believers.”
“God Is in Everything” by In Touch Ministries:
“In the highs and lows of life, God is for us and promises to work everything for our good and His glory.”
“You’ve probably asked yourself, Is God really involved in the details of my life? If you’re like most of us, it’s easy to believe that God is in the good things. He’s surely in your successes, strong relationships, and good physical health. But you may wonder if He’s also in your failures, broken relationships, and sickness. Good news—He is!
Take note of an important distinction: God being in everything doesn’t mean that He is causing everything that happens to us. After all, we live in a fallen world full of brokenness and sin. There will always be trouble to deal with on this side of eternity. So, while God doesn’t create every circumstance we face, He does allow every circumstance. As He does, He’s weaving the good parts and the difficult parts of our lives together for our long-term benefit and His glory.
Nothing we’re dealing with has slipped by our sovereign God. Everything is under His control. When we choose to trust His ultimate goodness, we can both receive the joys of today with thanksgiving and accept the hardships with peace. It is the peace of knowing that God is with us, for us, and always working for the good of those who love Him.”

“All things work together for good…”
Tumblr media
“All things work together for good to them that love God.” - Romans 8:28.
It’s a source of comfort and hope to countless people. It’s one of the most quoted, most loved, verses in the Bible. And it’s also one of the most misunderstood.
Because it’s not about wish fulfillment. It’s not about making poor choices, or sabotaging yourself, and then imagining that somehow it will all turn out great.
It’s not the magic missing piece from the world’s worst business plan.
(Phase One: do the thing. Phase Two: ???? Phase Three: profit!!!)
It’s not about pretending that if you’re a good person only good things will happen to you. Bad stuff is going to happen to you and me – that’s life in the fallen world we live in.
If that’s not it, then what is it about?
First, there’s more to it - “All things work together for good to them that love God, who are called according to His purpose.”
And it means that there is a calling from God, an invitation. As St. John Chrysostom tells us, “The calling was not forced on anyone, nor was it compulsory. Everyone was called, but not everyone responded to the call.”
It means that when you and I respond to God’s call, when we turn towards God? When we have a relationship with God, when we try to follow God’s lead?
God will go to work in our lives, to help us become who He made us to be. Because that’s the “good” that St. Paul is talking about, the good that God made us for.
God will use every part of our lives, the good stuff and the bad stuff. The times we did our best and the times we didn’t. The stuff we brought on ourselves and the stuff that just happened to us.
Sometimes those things hit us hard. And when it does, it can feel like the way it hurts will never end.
The key to all of this, to having God use it for our good – no matter what it is – is to do it with God.
To get over ourselves. To get over having to do it all by ourselves. To invite God into the very heart of what we’re dealing with.
To ask God to do it with us. To ask God to use it for our good.
Even if we don’t see how any good could ever come out of it.
God will use every part of our lives for good – the good of becoming who He made us to be – if we’ll let Him.

Does life get rough? Yes, often.. but that doesn't mean that God stopped being good. God is also still sovereign. We trust that He is using EVERYTHING to bring us closer to Him and more glory to His name

~Romans 8:38-39 "For I am convinced that neither life not death, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to seperate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Romans 8:28. "God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." This verse has helped people trust God through experiences that seemed utterly pointless, painful and evil. You may ask, "How can this hopeless situation work together for my good? I believe Joseph had this thought too-how can being put in prison for an offence I did not commit work for my good ? But you know the end of the story, how Joseph ended up being second in command to the Pharaoh. In all His dark and dry seasons, God was working behind the scenes, working towards Joseph's amazing success.
Will you choose to trust God to work all things together for good?

“Look Back and Thank God, Look Forward and Trust God”:
“Our faith is all about a personal relationship with the God who created us from an overflow of His love. There are two crucial traits we must embody if we are to grow in that relationship daily: Thankfulness and trust.
Thankfulness allows us to look back upon our life and show gratitude to God for the way He has led us to where we are today. Romans 8:28 says, “We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” In all the good times, and all the bad, God has been leading you toward a purpose. You can rest assured that He has a plan for your life. He is worthy of your gratefulness for leading you along that path.
Trust is essential in order for our faith to grow as well. It’s important to trust the vision path God has shown you. He’s trustworthy. You can trust Him with your future and where He is leading you. He will NEVER lead you astray. He wants nothing more than to guide you to the fulfillment of your ultimate potential in Him.
Together, thankfulness and trust will spark a new fire in your faith, leading you deeper and deeper into God’s love. You’ll find yourself embracing your identity in Christ more and more each day while making huge strides toward the purpose He has called you to. Spend time with Him daily, and as your relationship blooms, so too will these feelings you are working hard to cultivate.
Keep thankfulness and trust for the Lord alive within your heart. Remember the blessings He has poured out upon your life so far and trust Him to show you the path forward as you embrace your future. Never forget to look back and thank God, all while looking forward and trusting Him!
Lord, thank You for Your faithfulness. Your character is the very definition of what it means to be trustworthy and true. Help to grow within me a heart filled with nothing but love, trust, and thankfulness for You. You are the author of all good things in my life, and because of it, I long to give you praise. In Your holy and beautiful name, I pray, Amen.”
“I will give him the key to the house of David—the highest position in the royal court. When he opens doors, no one will be able to close them; when he closes doors, no one will be able to open them.” —Isaiah 22:22 (NLT)
