Secret Garden. 10.

Story: 10

Acting: 10

Chemistry: 10 🔥

I know many must of heard of this before, but yes it’s a ‘classic’. It may have every cliche in the book, but it’s like the drama that started all cliche’s, ya know. It has a young Hyun Bin too showing off just how talented he was 10 years ago then he is now, especially also Ha Ji Won who is beyond kickass in this. I also have to give a shout out to Lee Jong Suk babystepping role too😘 Overall though, it may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but try it at least once. It will always be one of my favs.

Love With Flaws. 5

Story: 6

This just sort of lacked everything unfortunately. It was slow paced and a bit boring in some places where I found myself wanting to fast forward. The comedy bits were a hit and miss in too. Though this has excellent LGBT representation in it which is rare to find, everything else was bland.

Flower Boy Next Door. 9

Story: 8

This drama is far from perfect, but for some reason I took quite a liking to it. It’s cheesy, cutesy, and predictable with the many kdrama tropes, but sometimes you just want that with a fun filled corny romance story. This is exactly that. It had excellent acting, great characters, and overall an awesome drama.

Update: Wrong (In All the Right Ways)

Chapter 2: Signed, Sealed, Delivered

@ilikeblue @nightreaderenigma

“Give me my pizza.”  Her voice took on a guttural tone, almost feral as her stomach rumbled like a beast in a cage. “Do you tease all your customers like this?”

Only the big ugly ones (the cruel voice in her head chimed in).

He confuses me.

She couldn’t find any malice in his expressive face, only unbridled mirth, amusement rising exponentially with her annoyance.  “Manners Tart.” He waggled a tapered finger in her direction. “…don’t you mean ‘Please Jaime, hero of my pizza problems, slayer of starvation, I would have wasted away to nothing without you.” Glancing up and down her hulking frame, there was a deliberate hitch as his gaze passed over her thick thighs, her too wide middle. “I knew you would deliver….’”  There it was once more, the devilish innuendo, the curl of his tongue and devious smirk that made her wonder again if she had answered the door in just her underwear.

Lunging forward she yanked the box from his clutches, taking only a split second to relish the surprise on his smug face before she bounded back inside.  Brienne threw the can in the recycle and plopped the box on the counter in one quick move, leaving delivery man gaping in the doorway.

Leaning down she inhaled a deep breath over the box, mouth falling open in unrestrained pleasure. Closing her eyes, she savored the warm, comforting scent of baked crust, tongue flicking out to capture the taste. It was only after a few indulgent draws of heated air that she realized the door never closed.  She cracked one eye.

He was still there, leaning on her doorframe.  Eyes darker than she remembered, a faintly pained look on his face.

What exactly is a rom-com? I’ve been having some discussions about this lately. For example, people call Groundhog Day a romantic comedy, but is it? The female love interest barely knows the lead, and is absent from huge chunks of the movie as the protagonist sleeps with other women, commits crimes, and repeatedly kills himself. While it contains a romantic subplot, and it’s kind of funny at times, it is also mainly dark.

Or what about The Notebook? Not only is the story sad, it’s rarely if ever funny. And to top it off the relationship is terrible and the male lead is toxic. Yet this movie is frequently listed as a too rom-com. Romantic? I guess. Comedy? Definitely not.

Lawless Lawyer. / Lawless Attorney 10

Where does one start with this drama. I love it! The fighting sequences choreography is top notch John Wick level. Yes the storyline is your typical kdrama revenge trope, but after awhile you will find most kdramas are. This has an excellent cast, with both an amazing female and make lead, it has excellent pacing, and wonderful chemistry throughout.

{66} Movies Seen in 2020 - 3 Stars

I think I saw bits and pieces of this over the years but never had seen the entire thing until this past week.
It’s not the usual romantic comedy, and I think after rewatching (500) Days of Summer the other day I am starting to look at this genre differently.

First, I love that Walter (Bill Pullman) is in no way a bad guy, or even the wrong guy, it’s really not him, it’s her. She’s the one who is coming to terms with the fact that she wants something else, and it’s ok to want that, whatever it is. Maybe it’s not Tom Hanks, and the end is open to interpretation.

In fact, the most touching moment in the end for me is when he Tom Hanks talks with Jonah about maybe they are enough, they can be happy with just the two of them, just because the mom is gone it doesn’t mean they need to find someone else to be in her place, she is still there somehow. And I would be ok with that ending, with then never really meeting on top of the Empire State Building, because peharps that is just a movie fantasy, like how everyone in the movie so often points out.
