SaSi Intruality Week 2/7: Stop and Smell the Roses

Prompt: Flowers (Switched out with OG prompt, Fusion; doing that one at a later day-)

Synopsis: Thanks to Remus and Roman, the Mind Palace has a lovely forest full of wonderful (and scary-) things! Patton is very excited about it. Patton learns that certain flowers are edible... and they find a snake friend! Also the title is a lie, there are no roses in the story. Get fooled :)

Characters: Patton, Remus, Roman

Relationships: Romantic Intruality, Brotherly Creativity Twins (No RemRom. Get out.)

TW: Remus being Remus, swearing, body horror/Remus snaps his neck but he fixes it, oh also he found a snek

The day is warm. The sun is shining high in the sky, its rays hitting the dewy leaves and patches of grass in an array of pretty colors. Patton and Roman made their way down the winding forest paths. Patton held a small, empty wicker basket with a red-plaid cloth lining the bottom.

"Padre, I have to wonder; What do you see in my brother?" Roman shielded his eyes from the sun, looking up at the high treetops beginning to turn red and yellow. "No offense intended, of course, but I am awfully curious to know."

"Well," said Patton, "I believe that there's good in everyone! That includes Remus!"

"Hm." Roman nodded in agreement as he spoke. "I personally dislike him, but you do you I guess."

Patton shifted the wicker basket tucked under his arm a little. "Everyone is different in their own ways."

"But you're suddenly okay with the dirty jokes and all of that?"

The blue-clad side kicked a pebble as he walked by it. "I learned a lot about myself, kiddo. Sometimes people do things that aren't necessarily their fault. Like how Remus doesn't have a filter. That's just what came with his role for Thomas."

"I never thought about it that way.." Roman parted a bush and held it back as Patton walked through. "After you!" he proclaimed smoothly, bowing just a little.

"Thanks!"

Roman smiled at him. "Of course! I believe we're almost to our destination!"

Patton added an extra pep to his step, the anticipation nearly making him squeal out of pure excitement. It seemed like Roman could tell just by looking at his face.

"Calm down, Popstar!" he teased, "Careful you don't explode!"

"But wouldn't that be fun?" Another voice chimed in. "Especially if it's extra bloody!"

Roman shrieked, instinctively pulling out his sword. "Stop popping up out of nowhere, you fiend!" he shouted to the top of one particular tree, "You're going to kill me one day!"

Remus cackled. He sat- no, dangled by his legs from a tree branch, his morningstar in one hand and some kind of bottle in the other. He waved at Patton, who waved back. "It would be funny to see you die!" he screamed back, hopping down from his perch. He landed straight on his neck with a thud and a snap. The bottle hit the floor, the shattered glass scattering around as the liquid inside spilled out.

Remus didn't react much. He continued laughing as he realigned his spine and neck with a pop.

Roman nearly gagged. "Ew. Can you do that somewhere else, please?" With a wave of his hand, he magicked away the broken bottle and glass.

“Awh, is Princey afraid of a little body horror~?” Remus mocked, cracking his knuckles and hopping to his feet, “That’s cute!”

Roman scoffed, sheathing his katana. “Just go do your weird stuff. If you need me, don’t.” He pulled out his magic mirror, tapping a button as he disappeared. “Have fun, Padre!” He called.

Patton stared blankly at the spot Roman once stood. “He has a magic mirror?” He questioned.

Remus nodded curtly. “Yeah, he’s got some weirdly fancy shit.” He paused. “Hey, wanna find out what flowers are edible?”

Patton turned to face him, an interested look in his eyes. “Boy, do I!?” He took the sashed side’s hand in his own, pulling him forward. “Roman said to go this way!” He explained quickly, leading Remus farther down the path.

Remus grinned. “Okay, Daddy!”

They continue down the dirt path. Patton was moving along fairly quick, tugging Remus along with him. Remus couldn't say that he wasn't enjoying the physical contact.. And so, he nearly cried when Patton let go of his hand to move a branch out of the way (Why Patton needed both hands was beyond him, but it didn't really matter that much.).

"So, Pattycake, what's our plan for the day?" Remus asked, "Are we gonna set something on fire? Maybe play with a bomb?"

Patton laughed. "No, silly! We're picking flowers!" he winked. "And eating them too.. but only the edible ones!"

Remus had completely forgotten he had mentioned that earlier. He gave Patton a goofy smile as they kept walking. "Sounds great! The eating the flowers part, I mean. Duh!"

"Well, we can't do that if we aren't there yet! Come on, slowpoke!"

Patton wound the stems of the flowers together. A bouquet of carnations, marigolds and sunflowers sat in his basket. He made sure to pick one of every color there was. He hummed a tune as he watched Remus roll down a hill, the side laughing maniacally.

Patton smiled to himself, adjusting his position on the grassy surface. He picked a perfect spot, right under the shade of a cherry blossom tree. He couldn't help but wonder how exactly the flowers and buds of the tree were still that rosey pink despite it being fall. The two sides were in The Imagination, after all, so he didn't think much more about it.

He continued threading the stems together, slowly making a messy yet colorful flower crown. He was proud of himself either way, and he admired it while Remus came running over.

"Patton! Patton!" He yelled, "I found a snake!!"

Patton blinked owlishly at him. "Did you now?" he said fondly, "I sure hope you didn't disturb it too much."

"Nah, this is one of Roman's creatures! The bites don't hurt at all!" Remus looked a bit disappointed at that, but held out his small, slithery friend for Patton to see. "I named it Dee! She's just a baby, I think!"

Their new friend was barely small enough to fit entirely in Remus' palm. The end of its tail was curled around his wrist, the orange and black striped pattern catching Patton's eye.

"Oh! Is our friend a milk snake?"

Remus looked at him with a look of surprise. "You know your snake breeds, dontcha Patty?"

"Mhm! Logan and Janus taught me some things a while ago, I was interested in snake anatomy." Patton shrugged. "Nature is cool!"

"Did you know that snakes eat frogs?!" Remus gave Dee a gentle stroke of her scales, grinning at Patton, "Careful, she might eat you!"

"That would be awful! I'd let the cutie, to be honest." Patton stood up, coming over to look at the small snake.

Dee didn't react much at all, but instead continued to explore Remus' arm.

"I think she likes me!!" Remus whispered, holding out his other hand to let her slither over, "This is fucking awesome!"

Patton laughed, going back over to his shady spot and picking up the flower crown he had made. He placed it on Remus' head with a smile.

"OOH! Are these the edible ones?!"

"They sure are! I found them just for you!"

Remus looked at him fondly- well, as fondly as the side could look at someone. "Are you okay with me destroying your masterpiece?"

Patton hadn't really thought that far. "Oh! Uh..." he let his eyes wander to his basket with extra flowers in it. "Here, eat these ones!" The cardigan wearing side handed Remus a bouquet of smaller flowers. "They're carnations!"

Remus' grin grew wider. "My favorite!" he went to take the bouquet, but remembered Dee slithering around along his arms. He paused for a moment, surveying the situation. "Do you want to hold Dee-Dee for a bit?" he asked, carefully and gently offering his snake friend to Patton. "She doesn't bite!"

Patton thought for a moment, before extending his arm out as he let Remus place the calm serpent into his palm, while Patton handed Remus the bouquet.

"Good trade!" Remus bit the entire top of a flower off, chewing it up and swallowing. "Mmm, the allergies are about to hit so well!"

Patton laughed at him, handling Dee with both arms now. The curious snake slithered farther up his arms. It sent shivers down his spine. His friend was cold! "Is this how Janus feels?" he questioned, gently stroking Dee's scales. "The poor little gal is freezing!"

Remus bit off more petals as he nodded. "Yep! Jan-Jan is always cold, that's why is house is always so warm! Not that he ever lets anyone in, anyway."

At this point, Dee was almost on Patton's shoulder as she investigated the hood of his cardigan- well, is it really a cardigan if it has a hood?

"They're also attracted to warm spaces!" Remus supplied, motioning to the snake, "So don't be surprised if she ends up in your hood!"

Patton let out a little gasp. "That's so cute!" he looked over at Remus with a pleading look. "Can we keep her?! Pleeease?"

Remus shrugged. "Why the hell not?"

"WOO!"

"Don't make Janny jealous, though. The Bananaconda might feel threatened." Remus snickered at that notion.

"Janus doesn't have to worry! Dee is a small snake, Jan is still the original snake boi!" Patton sat down next to the cherry blossom tree again, petting Dee with his free hand. Remus sat down next to him, pressing into his side.

"Whatever you say, Pat." he said, "But first, why don't we give Roman a heart attack before we show Janny our new friend?"

"What? No!!"

"Boo..."

Patton has a brother and it's the Orange Side: A Theory

Hey, yall remember that one Sanders Sides fic I released that was like "ha ha what if Patton is related to the Orange Side?"

I think I can actually prove it.

(This is fairly long so the theory is under the cut):

First and foremost (this is what most of the theory hangs on)

THE FAMILY TREE

If you're an avid watcher of the show, you'll remember that in Why Do We Get Out of Bed in the Morning, Roman shows us a "family tree". This includes, most notably, Roman himself and Patton (which, while I'm aware that he's probably only on the tree at all because they wanted to continue the gag of "Patton is Thomas's dad", I find incredibly interesting considering that Patton isn't in the video at all - his portrait is there to show something).

For reference, here is this family tree:

As many an early theorist noticed when this video came out, Roman has a line extending off to the right of his portrait - if you weren't aware, this means that the people connected to the line are siblings.

This was later proven canon as, five videos later, who should reveal themselves but Remus (Roman's twin brother).

But notice anything interesting?

That's right: Patton has a line going off to his left, meaning he too has a sibling.

"But Calvin!" I hear you say, "What if his brother is just Janus, what if-"

Hush and let me explain.

Thomas and the team, as we’re all well aware, are generally very lenient when it comes to shipping the Sides - Thomas has stated that he views it as self-love so generally he doesn’t mind it.

However, he has stated that RemRom (romantic Roman and Remus [blarg]) makes him extremely uncomfortable because they are canonically twins.

And, in the Roleslaying With Roman livestream a few months ago, Alex and Brei stated that they wouldn’t allow people to ship Youngblood and Roman together if they knew that they were planning on them being revealed to be siblings. I imagine Thomas is in the same boat when it comes to his own characters.

Meaning that this unknown brother of Patton’s has not been introduced into the series just yet (that is to say, it’s highly highly unlikely that his brother is, say, Janus).

So, with all the other sides eliminated, who does this leave but the Orange Side?

And no, I have more proof!

As many people have theorized, Orange is likely representative of negative emotions (primarily anger, given the nature of the scenes that the color orange primarily dominated - the opening live action scene for Putting Others First, the top of the stairs in Learning New Things About Ourselves, and Logan's eyes in Working Through Intrusive Thoughts).

I think it's important to note here that just about every character in this show has expressed some form of visible anger and/or frustration before, and I'd list the most obvious examples but they are all extremely obvious (except maybe Remus, who we've only really seen get frustrated over Thomas not falling for his traps, but I digress).

There is only one main character we have never actually seen get mad or angry or any other intense wrath-filled emotion at anyone: Patton.

Which on its own is odd because, again, every other character, including C!Thomas, we have seen get mad before.

But it's even more odd when you take into consideration just how abnormal it is that the metaphysical embodiment of emotions has never been shown to be angry? Like, why? Why haven't we seen Patton... angry? Especially considering that anger is an emotion.

Not to mention that Patton tends to be one of, if not the first person in the show to actually start accepting the "Dark Sides" (first with Virgil, then with Janus). He's sympathetic towards them (or, towards Virgil at least) even before he was given a reason to.

Something else I thought was interesting (but not necessarily hard evidence towards the theory) is that Patton is the only "Light Side" to canonically have an animal trait, like the "Dark Sides" do.

Also, if one of my other Orange Side theories is right and Orange's real name is Judas, it would kind of make sense that Patton is related to him. I mean, Patton is definitely full of that ol' Catholic Guilt TM, so it would sort of track to have his brother be named after the dude who sold out Jesus (and also kind of fitting for Patton himself, now that I think about it).

So there you have it: my theory as to why Patton and the Orange Side seem so closely linked together is that they're simply siblings.

hi! just a little introduction post for my blog, listing the kind of content it’s going to have :)

my name is ace, i’m currently 19 years old, use they/them pronouns and sanders sides is one of my special interests! this blog is mostly dedicated to talking about it, especially since i’ve been in the fandom for a while but rarely posted about it.

i don’t mind most ships in this fandom (unless you ship romantic remrom, in which case get the fuck out) but i will tag posts as romantic or platonic depending on the characters/relationships in that post!

On the topic of RemRom ship events:

— On Tumblr: most mods on this blog are "anti-ship" and do not ship or enjoy content involving the romantic relationship between Roman and Remus.

However, considering this blog is supposed to boost, organise, and archive events we will be reblogging RemRom events, despite our dislike. We will also reblog events created by RemRom shippers, regardless if the event is centered around RemRom.

All romantic depictions will be tagged as #RemRom and all platonic/familial depicitions will be tagged as #Creativitwins.

Baby You're a Haunted Motel | Supernatural!Remrom

So, long story short, I took a break from the internet and ended up watching the first two seasons of Supernatural. And oh boy do I have an idea! Why the hell haven't we thought of a supernatural!Remrom au? I mean, even if the main plot of the fic wouldn't have to do with the overarching plot of Supernatural, just having the twins driving around solving supernatural conundrums together.

P.s I was planning to post this a long time, but then I... didn't :|

TW: Incest, Remrom, Swearing, Wincest (kind of), Casual time-period typical homophobia (Not violently, but still very offensive), Talks of sex/sleeping with a Supernatural creature, Dirty jokes, Making fun of the death of a romantic partner(One line, In reference to the death of Roman’s ‘boyfriend’ (this universes version of Jessica (Sam’s Girlfriend who died))

(loosely) Inspired by a scene from Supernatural | Season 2 Episode 11, Playthings (By loosely I mean very loosely, so yeah, it's nothing like most of the scene I'm talking about)

"Hurry up Roman! I'm sure whatever is causing these deaths can't wait to get their hands on all this!" Remus shouted suggestively.

"Stop Remus, we finally get to spend a job somewhere that isn't basically a cockroach-infested hell-hole, and you just have to talk about fucking supernatural creatures, again! We're trying to rid the world of them for god's sake!" Roman exclaimed.

The hotel was made of a red-stained oak, it was such a deep red that Remus had joked that it was stained in the victims’ blood. You could see moss and rot around the cracks and crevices at the base of the building. The roof was an odd color, and you could see gaps where the shingles had worn out or fallen off over the years.

"Ha-ha, cock-roach," Remus chuckled, "like you wouldn't want to get it on with me after we finally kill that demon that offed your pretty little boyfriend!"

"Shut up, let's just get going."

"Oh hello! Welcome to the Pierpoint Inn!" The cheerful lady greeted. Seated at a desk

“Thank you kindly, I can say I rather love the decor!” Roman praised, while Remus could be seen rolling his eyes in the background.

“Thanks!” The woman shined a slippery smile, “I used to decorate this place myself all the time, shame you guys won’t be seeing it for long.”

"Ohooh, that's a pretty ominous thing to say!" Remus interjects.

"I guess that was pretty ominous," The lady admitted, "what I meant is that this place is going to close in about a month or so."

"That's such a shame,” Roman frowned, “I’m also sorry for his ill-natured comment.”

“It’s fine, heaven knows I don’t expect you to be the polite sort when you are… what you are." She said, looking away uncomfortably, before moving on. "Anyways, I’m guessing you’d like a room!”

“Um… yes, we would like that,” Roman said, trying to awkwardly respond to the obviously homophobic sentiment. Remus just raised an eyebrow, ready to pounce if need be.

“What in the whale penis does ‘our sort’ mean?” Remus interjected.

“Well, men who like women certainly don’t go around complimenting furniture or traveling with their… partner,” She said snidely, “I mean you can do whatever you want, but I’m not one to want to see that… no offense of course.”

“Excuse me!?” Roman said, offense rolling off him like the ocean at the new moon, “In no world is that not offensive. I just-,” Roman cut himself off, realizing that if he kept this up they’d end up missing out on this job, “Please give us a room, and well get out of your hair.”

The room was ancient-looking and in need of a good dusting. It smelled like a well-loved passion and seemed well taken care of with a new-ish coat of maroon paint covering the walls of the room. The only thing off about the room was the copious amounts of dolls dotted around the room's many shelves. With all the arrangements for the room taken care of, there was really only one problem left…

“She only gave us one bed?”

moxiety. i don't really hate any ships other than remrom it's just that if i had to list them out itd be last on the list. they're way more familial than romantic/sexual, but i know other people interpret it differently and that's ok!! we don't shame ships here if they aren't problematic

okay that cruise commercial has me thinking so hard about remrom though, roman planning a big romantic cruise with his boyfriend only to get dumped and then deciding to take remus since he already bought the tickets, and then remus spending the whole cruise making roman laugh and smile and cheering him up, blowing up the condoms in their room like balloons and batting them around, making snarky comments on all the other couples there

roman was kinda expecting remus to just ditch him and flirt with the couples there, maybe talk his way into a few three ways, but instead remus treats the whole thing like a celebration of roman finally dumping that asshole, its a roman deserves better party (he knows roman is the one who got broken up with but history is written by the victors and roman no longer having to put up with his now ex's bullshit is a magnificent victory, in his opinion)

anyway they get wine drunk in their room and eat chocolate dipped strawberries and remus draws a little mustache on roman with the chocolate fondue "so we can match :}) " and tells roman that obviously that guy didnt deserve him because roman shouldnt be treated like he belongs to somebody, and real romance is belonging with, not to, so he should look for someone he wants to spend time with, and roman cant fucking breathe for a moment because this, this is what belonging with someone is, he's spent the whole cruise with remus and loved every second and-
