‘Talking to my friends’ I literally pretend im talking to friends about my desires. And this can go on for 2m or 2hrs. What can i say? i love talking. But i actually feel it for real, like it’s actually happening.

Facts about me Omg i love this one. Basically you go on your notes app and write ‘facts about me’ and write down your desires as if you have them. It’s like a fact file. And you can put pictures in as well to help the whole visual side of things. And whenever you want to or have doubts, you can have a scroll through and remind yourself of what you have.

The shopping cart method Honestly i used to do this a lot as a kid lmaoo. Learned how fun it is to live in my imagination fasttt. But basically you go on any shopping app you want, i normally use amazon or romwe tbh, and once you have added everything you want you can just rant about all of things you have brought.

That’s me method I know someone talked about this method a while ago so creds to them. But i love this one! You collect all the photos you feel resemble your desires, this can be on pinterest or your photos (i do both) and every now and then you can look thru and be like “omg that’s my boyfriend, and that’s my new face, and omg that’s my small waist” etcc

Pinterest method I loveee this one. Basically you create a board and call it ‘my life’ or ‘my stuff’ or whatever and create loads of different sections like ‘my boyfriend” ‘my new phone’ etc etc and it just helps you visualise and see your desires as yours.

The interview method hehe i think this one is cool. You just pretend you’re being interviewed about your desires. And you rant about what’s it’s like to have your desires.

The pick me girl method lmaoo i like this method. Basically you just complain about your desires and shout at the 3D. Say you wanna be 5ft7 you’ll be like “Ugh why am i so tall!! Stop showing me i’m 5ft7 i don’t want to be tall, why was i born to be a motherfucking giant. i hate it!!”

Probably GG showing up in the background of SDOC3. It's just so insane and bizarre and improbable, but it also seems likely to be true.

I love the idea of brands being in on GG and DD and throwing candy for fans, I just don't believe it's likely.

CPN that you think can’t be washed.

DD's name appearing in the Qingdao snacks video, for sure. That one is 100% unwashable to me, because I can hear it clearly with my own ears.

This one doesn't really apply. I've never lost belief in them since I've been truly SZD.

Most underrated CPN according to you.

Their studios working together, sharing employees, etc. It's very likely true, but people don't seem to see how big a deal that is. It essentially shows them to be married. Two stars sharing resources like that would not be done lightly. If there was any thought that the couple could potentially break up at some point in the future, they simply wouldn't make such a move. It would be too difficult and messy to clear up after a breakup. Their management companies would also have to be aware of and sign off on such a move.

Put it this way: one of the biggest gestures of serious commitment two stars could make is sharing teams.

Most overrated CPN according to you.

The finger, without a doubt. I think it's DD's finger, and that the RoMW cover is all selfie outtakes from DD's phone. However, even if it WAS GG's finger, it would still be a totally underwhelming candy. I can't find any level on which to get excited about it.

CPN that made you laugh at haters who tell turtles are delusional.

All the many situations where solos claim some item or CPN links GG or DD to another person, only to find that the evidence links GG and DD to each other more strongly. For example, the bone necklace.

Romwe x Corpse Bride: A Critical & possibly hypocritical review.

This review will be fast fashion negative, while giving credit to artistic aesthetics. I own some of the items mentioned (some of which, I regret).

A summary of my opinion: most of it is crap.

This is kind of becoming a series, with my previous Hello Kitty and Friends x Forever 21 review

Disclaimer: I do not like Tim Burton. I like a lot of his media (The Corpse Bride, Wednesday, Frankenwinie, etc.) but I do not agree with his attitudes (most notably towards POC inclusion).

If any Shien apologists come my way I will simply block them. This post is not about "is it ok to order from Shien ever?" Or about the accessibility of fashion or anything like that. Maybe I'm a future post, but for now, go read someone else's opinion piece about it

Why did I order this stuff?

The answer is very simple: Nostalgia and scarcity mindset. I've loved the Corpse Bride ever since I was younger. I owned the DVD and watched it more times than I can count. Additionally, I doubt that there will ever be any other affordable clothing collaborations with the Corpse Bride, at least, not for another while. But please send me other Corpse Bride official and unofficial collaborations if you see any. I'll put a little 🌠 next to anything I bought. Note: I may not include everything I bought from the Collab just because I may not have the strongest opinions on that particular garment or my other arguments may better explain.

What did I like?

The general aesthetics. Motifs of the flowers, butterflies, swirls, skeletons, colour pallets. I liked it all! Was it well executed? No. A lot of the patterns weren't done justice (as seen in the review photos)

The stock images were STUNNING. Which is the point, but still credit where it's due.

It appealed to my nostalgia. I think it was lazy, but it certainly did warm my inner baby bat heart.

Onto specifics. This capette

This capette is fun! I love a good capette! There's obvious flaws like how randomly the little pictures are chosen and I feel the white and black is just a little too high contrast, maybe black and light blue would have worked better?

5. This Graphic T. 🌠

I love this design so much I bought one in the black colour way too. Do I stand by that decision? Not entirely. But as a long-term Corpse Bride fan I feel that I will appreciate them for a very very long term.

6. The Legwarmers 🌠

They did these legwarmers so dirty! As seen in the stock images, the ends are rolling up! I need to reinforce them with my own hidden ribbing and also gently steam them. You may also note that those butterflies are PRINTED ON and it's pretty bad IRL.

7. jeans (?)

But if you see a pair of boring jeans in a charity shop that fit well, why not bring them home and customise them with paint, bleach, trims, embroidery or patches? Remind me to write a post on DIY jean ideas. Anyway, could be fun to browse Shien and Pinterest and steal their ideas! Maybe invite some friends and have some snacks and make it 'a little get together'?

I'm stealing the print of these jeans. A reoccurring hot take of mine is that I hate that EVERYWHERE sells jeans. Go into any high street retailer and they have a WHOLE SELECTION of jeans. From skinny to bootcut to mom to boyfriend to ripped and in black, acid wash, proper denim, super light blue and sometimes white. it's all far too much (in my opinion).

The reason why I feature the "?" in the title is because I don't really see jeans as very Corpse Bride, seems more fairy grunge (I've discussed fairy grunge lightly in the past but I do hope to make a longer opinion post about it)

General dislikes

106 listings. Why SO many graphic t-shirts? I need to count the specifics because there's just too many. And I counted roughly 24 hoodies/sweatshirts (given, there could be duplicates of the plus size and straight sizes) but my point remains. Why is there 106 listings?

Excessive reuse of certain designs and many of the designs are really similar.

No collection of that many pieces could ever be of decent quality or with a lot of thought and the proof is in the pudding (the garments). It simply isn't. Typical Shien. Bare basics stitching, low quality materials, etc.

Polyester for undergarments. Cotton, bamboo and hemp are just far superior fabrics for underwear and socks! I can't imagine polyester is good for the health of external private areas.

Objectively these are cute, but I have recently truly understood how dangerous synthetic materials can be especially for private areas.

I will be referencing this print in my future customised clothing.

Future post idea: Cotton vs. Polyester

At some point in the future, I do intend on posting more information about cotton/natural fibers vs. polyester. Including resources that further discuss the oppression of the Uyghur Muslims, modern cotton slavery, the mistreatment of garment workers. Then also, the production and manufacturing process on various fibers and their quality. Additionally, a bit about micro plastics and our clothes.

Most of it will just be directly referencing and providing information from creators who are more knowledgeable on the topic with minimal opinions and input from me, though there will be a sequel post that includes my opinions and a reflection on how I navigate the topic.

a brief profile on feathers in indigenous cultures and skyloft

i believe the people of skyloft are direct parallels to the indigenous peoples of turtle island (aka north america). although this was probably unintentional, nintendo still managed to portray this fairly accurately and i feel everyone should acknowledge that. in this essay i will…

… you know what??? yeah, i will actually do this. remember these are just my headcanons and i am not forcing anyone to adopt them.

in this short essay i will be discussing the importance of the feather to irl indigenous folks and how this can parallel to skyloftians.

there are several indigenous cultures so feathers can have several meanings!! i’m part indigenous but indigenous culture is incredibly diverse across north america so i can't speak for all nations, tribes, etc. but i can describe overarching significance of feathers across several nations.

1. feathers are a great honour to wear. traditionally, not everyone could wear them. they are a symbol of great power and connect the wearer, the creator and the bird from which they came together. they have to be gifted or earned, often times through battle or bravery (traditionally the eagle is most revered for this purpose). this is why feathers are typically only worn by those of higher status in many nations.

2. feathers come to the wearer with purpose, never by accident. when a feather falls from the sky it's a gift from the sky and that bird. it is still living and carries that birds energy. the feather is considered living and has rights of its own just like the earth, water and other humans do. wearing that feather means you are accepting whatever wisdom, power and courage that bird is gifting you. 

3. to reject the gift of a feather or hide one away is a huge disrespect. do not let your feather touch the ground once received (treat it like you would your country's flag). 

4. feathers may sometimes become family heirlooms. 5. feathers may also play important roles in ceremonies and can be used as a form of contact with spirit animals (an aside: if you are non-indigenous please stop saying you have a spirit animal. you genuinely have no idea how harmful this off-handed comment can be.) and other deity-like beings. 

6. not all feathers used or worn are eagle feathers (which are a form of the strongest medicine, meaning bravery, strength and hope and serve as a spiritual guide) of course. because of this, i’ll share a list of some other significant birds and their meanings:

Crow = balance, skill, and cunning

Falcon = speed, movement, and soul healing

Dove = kindness, love, and gentleness

Bluebird = happiness

Hawk = guardianship and far-sightedness

Owl = wisdom

Raven = creation and knowledge

Turkey = pride, fertility, and abundance

Woodpecker = self-discovery

Wren = protection

Swallow = love and peace

Kingfisher = luck (Source)

even if you are gifted a feather that is not listed here it still has all that great importance i listed before.

7. in modern times, indigenous people now also use feathers in their fashion and in home decor (ex. dream catchers). the most important thing to note is although this is more casual, the feathers are still highly revered. because of this, the last thing i want to say is that if you are a non-indigenous wearing a feather just for fun or as a fashion statement this is highly disrespectful lest you do not know the significance it holds. you should be acknowledging the culture from which this is coming from because indigenous folks of turtle island (and elsewhere in the world) have been mocked and abused for way too long and enough is enough. give our people recognition. if you are non-indigenous and still wish to wear feather jewellery (whether metal or synthetic or real) you still can!!! but know what significance your fashion choice holds. be an ambassador for indigenous rights and for the love of our sacred earth BUY THE JEWELLERY FROM AN INDIGENOUS ARTIST. don’t buy it from claire’s or romwe, etc. please.

now for the skyloft part!!!

loftwings clearly hold some type of religious and/or cultural significance in skyloft. they are sky people, bird people, etc.

think about it…

those with higher status or things related to the goddess have bird imagery on them (see point 1 for reference).

the goddess pedestal, zelda, link, gaepora, the hylian shield and the sail cloth all adorn this type of imagery.

granted there are a few other skyloftians that have some bird imagery that don’t really fit in with this point... i’m going to elect to ignore them anyways because nintendo obviously didn’t intend for it to have some indigenous significance in the first place and i just really like this headcanon!

anyways, that’s just some quick insight to why i have this headcanon!

when i see redesigns of sky (skyward sword link) and sun (skyward sword zelda) that include actual real feathers in their fashion i automatically connect it to why and how indigenous people of turtle island wear feathers. for many of these redesigns, it’s common that the feathers are gifts from their loftwings and like… see point 2 because that’s what i just described!! I totally believe the people of skyloft are parallels!!

again, these are just my headcanons and feathers have importance in other cultures around the world not just indigenous people from turtle island. so it’s also totally okay to use feathers for other reasons like that!

anyways, my hope with this accidental essay is that maybe more people will start to acknowledge that there is a huge cultural significance behind feathers and maybe that more creators will consider that when designing. i hope this was insightful to read! and thanks for reading the whole thing if you did! edit: a friend asked me to compare the loftwings and their colour significances in reference to indigenous cultures and there are more parallels there so i will def write that soon!

How I Prepare for a New School Year

The new school year is starting for me in a couple of weeks. I'm so excited to start my senior year of High School! But of course, before it starts, I need to start preparing now.

I love watching studytube videos that talk about prepping for the new school year. It's fun to see what people do, and it sparks ideas of things that I can do as well. However, I wanted to share with you 5 ways that I prepare for a new school year. Let's get started, shall we?

Reorganize my school email

My school email definitely gets cluttered every year because of the countless emails my teachers and guidance counselor send me. Most of them I don't need to keep, but I never make the effort to delete as the year progresses; I just dump them into their specific folder! So usually once the school year ends or when summer break is nearing the end, I'll clear out my inbox and create new folders for my new classes.

2. Declutter my room

My room also seems to get very cluttered during the school year and eventually, I have too much stuff. So usually over the summer, I'll declutter and reorganize my room, which includes getting rid of school papers I don't need anymore.

3. Fix my sleep schedule

Typically, during my summer break, I don't keep a regular sleep schedule. Every day I go to sleep and wake up at different times, which obviously isn't efficient for during the school year. So usually about 3 weeks before the new school year starts, I gradually begin to change my sleep schedule until I get to the established one I want to maintain during the school year.

4. Buy school supplies

School shopping is honestly one of my favorite things to do. I love finding cute stationary! Walmart always has good school sales, but I also like to find stationary from online stores such as Shein and Romwe.

5. Watch old recordings of my future classes

Don't roll your eyes at me. 🤣 Literally, I will email the teachers who will be my teachers the following year and ask for their recordings so I can prep for the class over the summer. I mostly do it for math since it's not the easiest subject for me, but I've done it for a few other classes as well. It allows me to work out any issues early on and seek help before the year starts. Honestly, it makes the whole school year much better!
