Hey, I started reading Robin son of Batman because of your recommendation (I literally have a print of your post on my phone to not forget lol). Honestly? One of the best things I ever read!!!

Thank you for opening my eyes! Damian has been one of my favorite characters for over a year, but I didn't read/watch much of him because of school, life (and probably an executive dysfunction in the mix).

Maya is incredible. I loved her.

I haven't finished all the issues yet, but do you have any other recommendations?

i’d love to give reccs, and i’ll try to go a beginner friendly route! tbh you can pick up whatever here, but since you've read R:SOB i’d immediately follow up with Batman and Robin (2011) #1-8! this first arc is what’s referred to in Maya’s introduction, and it's just. so good.

So let me get this correct. Slade Wilson, alias Deathstroke, is a confirmed pedophile in DC comics, was a fully white character until he got mixed in with the League of Assassins which was an Asian owned group, but for some reason he was next in line over Talia (ignoring her other siblings) became a white savior and they realized that wasn’t a good look so they basically 1/16th Cherokeed him into some Asian descent (I’m saying that cause we’ve seen DC treat Asian characters like that until recently), so that it was okay for him to take over Ra’s’s operations (again why? He has children, he has grandchildren, Slade had no reason to be there), wins almost all of his fights, stole others’ chances to star in a comic with Yogi the Bear (an icon), again is a pedophile and even in the cartoon show predator. Why do people like him? There’s nothing redeeming about him. Are you going to say thanks to him we got The Judas Contract, Jericho and Rose? Rose’s stories with her father are just annoying. Jericho’s connection is literally there for one storyline and then it just doesn’t matter and even then it really didn’t. And the only Judas Contract I’ve liked was from the cartoon. There are plenty of characters I’m not a fan of but can understand why others would like them. Slade will never be one.

Shes the daughter of famed mercenary murderer villain deathstroke. She has historically toed the line between hero and villain. One of DC Comics' best antiheroes. She has more daddy issues than anyone else alive. She has a homoerotic rivalry with not one but two superheroes named cassandra. Shes willing to do what has to be done. Her dad mind controlled her at times and she went back to being evil. She has precognitive powers and enhanced healing. Shes deeply paranoid about her place in the teen titans when shes on the team. She totally wants to fuck wonder girl. she leaves the teen titans and works with the terror titans as a double agent. she wants to not be like her father. she wants to kill her father. shes a great fascinating character consistently done dirty by writers. shes a hero but shes done bad things and is a morally complex and fascinating hcaracter. i love her sm

Oracle:

im not even the peak babs stan and im sure theres other people who can explain it better but shes a really complex and interesting character and an undeniable girlboss. as the information centre of the superhero world as the mysterious oracle after being paralysed by the joker, she takes up a central role working alongside the infamously morally grey suicide squad with the dubiously villainous amanda waller, before becoming a core member of the bataman family in the 90s and 00's and leader of the birds of prey. shes tried to shoot people before despite working with batman. she manipulates her teammates. shes deeply morally complex and has an interestng relatonship with batmans code. she deserves to win because dc has done her horribly for the last decade plus, erasing her competence and her disability to regress her from a mature and complex woman and a cornerstone of the superhero community alongside some of dc's only disability representation; to a rookie hero or nightwing's arm candy. she fucking rules. dont hate.

Little detail - the mothers are all dressed to kill, perhaps in the literal sense too

Adeline Kane - Former soldier in the army, and later mercenary. Mother of Grant and Joseph (Joey) Wilson, and Slade's former wife. Remarried once afterwards and currently a socialite with many, many connections...

Worth Family

Lillian Worth - aka Sweet Lili. Former Cambodian princess. Ran a bordello for some time before crossing paths with Slade. Mother to Rose Wilson-Worth. Currently resides with her daughter in New York and runs a brothel.

Rose Wilson-Worth - Former street racer (to the relief of her parents). Slade Wilson's eldest daughter and current holder of the alias Ravager. Besides Joey, Rose is the only other one of her half-siblings to inherit more than enhanced senses/healing from their father.

Wu Family

Cassandra Cain-Wayne - loves ballet as much as Medea loves figure skating. The daughter of David Cain and Sandra Wu, though estranged from both parents. As of currently, Black Bat operates exclusively in Gotham.

Sandra Wu - operates as Lady Shiva, world's greatest martial artist and looking for that final fight. Hires out her skill as an assassin. Mother to Cassandra Cain and Medea Wilson. Learning how to co-parent with Deathstroke.

They say that Lady Shiva is just as deadly with or without a weapon.

Medea Wilson - The baby of the family and holder of many, many nicknames. Notable ones include being her father's 'princess' and her mother's 'little witch'. Only child of Sandra Wu and Slade Wilson, her father's youngest child/daughter.

Current aspirations: to become the best figure skater.

Jade Nguyen - Operates as the assassin, Cheshire. An acquaintance/friend/partner/??? of Grant Wilson and has a soft spot for his sister, Medea.

Medea hasn't figured it out yet, but she swears she will get to the bottom of it. Soon.

Speed TWST OCs Intro Pt. 1

I intended the order to be from Ramshackle to Diasomnia instead of the date they were created so-

1. [Jeff Wilson]

Male, 16, Freshman, Ramshackle Dorm

Polite, Bland, Always Smiling, Secretly Multi-talented

Jeff comes from a wealthy family, although his status doesn't determine who he is in Twisted-Wonderland.

Main Yuusona for TWST JP, a friend over discord call suggested the name Jeff about the release of first part of Chapter 6. He is an icon.

2. [Vincent Wilson]

Male, 16, Freshman, Ramshackle Dorm

Relaxed, Quick Witted, Mindful

Vincent is an older brother of Jeff by 6 years. Due to the recent events he is somehow aged back to his younger self in the world of Twisted-Wonderland.

Main Yuusona for TWST EN, was named after another OC on the day the EN version was released. To clarify, Jeff and Vincent didn't end up in the same Twisted-Wonderland unfortunately.

3. [Rin Arisu]

Female, 16, Freshman, Ramshackle Dorm

Partially Social, Introverted

Rin woke up in Twisted-Wonderland by chance, keeping memories of her past. Even the memories of TWST as a game.

Rin existed well before going into TWST. She acts as a stand-in Yuu for a little while before Jeff comes and replace her.

4. [Luke von Giovanni]

Male, ??, Freshman, Ramshackle Dorm

Cheerful, Professional Magician

Luke is a well-known magician at his hometown. One night, he disappeared from the face of the crowd in the middle of his performance, 'the vanishing act'. His animal companions tag him along in his discovery of Twisted-Wonderland, a world where magic does in fact exists.

First TWST OC to be ever created. The whole idea is a magician in a world of magic (and a play of the word 'magician' in JP translations at the time hehe).

5. [Sylvie Rose]

Female, 10, Freshman, Heartslabyul Dorm

Bookworm, Adorable, Child Prodigy

Once raised in an orphanage, Sylvie had the role of understanding her friends in order to overcome difficult challenges. Years later, she then enrolled at NRC by some random luck (what is they smoking—). Now she is forced to stay as her fellow freshmen and upperclassmen all alike dotes on her.

I thought would be a funni to have a literal child around campus (sorry Ortho—). She was once named Chiyuki Hime, coming from Yuki ('snow' for her specialty magic) and Hime-sama ('princess', self-explanatory).
