Harry is MY boyfriend; you can’t tell me who to love-! (Part One)

(Warning: Ella slaps her daughter, mentions of abuse; yelling, use of a sleeping potion against a princess, if I missed anything let me know and I’ll add it-!)

It had started out so well. Aricka and Chad had woke up early, earlier than for a usual school day, and had met up to get ready for Parent Day together. Chad was wearing a Snow White Original light blue three piece suit, gold cuff links with the Charming royal crest engraved on them, and brown dress shoes to match.

Aricka herself had selected a similar light blue sundress patterned after Little London styles, made and designed by her new dear friend; Evie. It was tulle with a low back with a matching scarf, and she was wearing a low pair of golden heels. She also wore a necklace Harry had found and given her- white gold with a compass charm. “You’ve been guiding me my entire stay here,” he’d explained. “It just makes sense.”

“Do you think Harry will like my outfit?” She asks her twin, as she fixed her makeup for the final time.

“I think Harry likes the princess behind the outfit more than anything,” her twin responds. “And if he doesn’t; well, that’s why you have me.” She smiles and reaches for her twin’s hands.

“You’ve always had my back.”

“Just like you have mine.” And with that, Chad offered her his arm; and they walked out to the party together.

“Their Royal Highnesses, Prince Chadwick Charming of Sardinia and Princess Aricka of Charmington,” the official announcer declared. The twins smiled demurely and waved as they’d been trained, eyes set ahead of them, always focused on their future King of Auradon. Aricka saw a flash of red, blue; and purple; and internally relaxed. The VKs were here,and soon Harry would rescue her.

Everything would be okay after this performance.

Her and Chad took their places with their cousins, each taking a towel and posing just as they’d rehearsed time and again before this day. The boys began beatboxing and the girls softly sang over them,

“Ma chère Mademoiselle,

It is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure

That we welcome you tonight…” Ben begins, a proper kingly smile on his face; he reaches over and squeezes Aricka’s wrist as warmly as possible; the two of them sharing a brief smile as he made his way through the assemblage.

“And now, we invite you to relax,

Let us pull up a chair

As the dining room proudly presents -

Your dinner!” The teens present began bowing in perfect synchrony, the girls chorusing,

“Be our guest!

Be our guest!

Put our service to the test

Tie your napkin 'round your neck, cherie

And we'll provide the rest…” Ben smiles at two princesses and tosses them his own napkin, and the girl who caught it swooned, right into the arms of king Adam himself, and Aricka had to stifle a laugh.

“Soup du jour

Hot hors d'oeuvres

Why we only live to serve…” at that moment, Aricka saw Harry; and she waved covertly; and he smiled at her; not a smirk; not a grimace, her boyfriend smiled at her properly.

Yeah; she melted like a popsicle.

“Try the grey stuff

It's delicious!

Don't believe me?

Ask the dishes…” Chad, Aziz, Doug, Li’l Shang, Bashful Jr, SJ, Pin, and Artie rushed to join their “cousin” Ben and did a very impressive rap for the next verse,

They can sing sing sing

They can dance dance dance

After all, Miss, this is France!

And the dinner here is never ever second best! No!

Go on, unfold your menu-!” They all toss their napkins in the air; continuing,

“Go on, take a glance and then you'll

Be our guest

Oui, our guest

Be our guest guest guest… come on!” All the boys bow, smiling and adding a little,

“Yeah… yeah… yeah…” as the girls take over,

“We tell jokes,

I do tricks!

With my fellow candlesticks

And it's all in perfect taste

That you can bet-!” And to finish they came back together, waving the remaining napkins in the air, swaying side to side and proclaiming,

“Come on and lift your glass

You've won your own free pass

To be our guest-!” Ben reclaimed the spotlight for one final solo,

“If you're stressed

It's fine dining we suggest!” Smiling over at his parents, before rejoining his friends,

“Be our guest!

Be our guest!

Be our guest!” The girls add a soft,

“Oh-oh oh-oh-oh, oh oh oh-oh,” before they all exclaimed,

“BE OUR GUEST-!” Chad ended one one knee, on the cement, Aricka sitting on his leg, arms extended to the sky with perfect smiles on their faces.

It tanked from there.

Aricka and Harry had been invited to a game of croquet by the King and Queen, Adam and Belle themselves. Harry had looked askance until Aricka graciously answered for both of them, slipping her arm through Harry’s and leading him over to the more private garden party, where the more famous Auradon parents were assembled. Two of them being her own.

Chad had Uma’s arm tucked into his, a seemingly permanent blush on his face. It warmed her heart seeing her twin so happy; and she knew he felt the same regarding her and Harry.

The game went smoothly until they encountered her mother. And by then; it was too late to recover any semblance of normalcy afterward.

“The Isle Reformation Proclamation will never take off. It poses too much of a risk to our safety, and what if the barrier doesn’t hold during the transfer of students? What if some villain were to break free?” Her mother ranted to queen Leah.

“Indeed.” The elderly royal mused, scanning the populace. Her eyes widened and she gasped rather dramatically and cried, “YOU-!”

Aricka whipped around at the sound and saw Leah staring at Mal and Ben heading that way. Gripping Harry’s hand she followed, seeing Chad hot on their heels, Evie, Jay, Gil and Carlos not far away. Aricka Page seemingly materialized out of nowhere, gripping her twin’s hand.

“Your majesty queen Leah,” the demigoddess Fae says, laying a gentle hand on the Queen’s arm. “Princess Aricka of Olympus, we’ve met before. May I present my sister Mal Page?”

“How are you so young-?!” The queen exclaims.

“Grammy, this isn’t Maleficent, this is her daughter, Mal. She’s one of the Isle children we brought over for our Reformation Proclamation,”’Audrey tried to explain.

“Audrey- you LET her over-?!” Leah gasped. “After what her mother did you to yours- did to my DAUGHTER-?!”

“Yes, Grammy, Maleficent did that to my mother. Mal has done nothing to me,” Audrey says, grabbing Mal’s hand. “She is my friend.”

Mal seemed thunderstruck by Audrey’s claim, but Aricka Page seemed to have taken over speaking for her twin. “Queen Leah, my twin is more our father’s daughter than she ever was our mother’s. Mal is innocent and has done nothing to deserve your prejudice or hatred.”

“Are you so sure of that? How can we trust you? Any of you?” Aricka Charming paled at the words that came from her own mother’s mouth. “How do we know you haven’t spelled our children to say whatever makes you look good?”

“MOTHER-?!” Aricka and Chad exclaimed.

“I mean look at them. The daughter of the mistress of all evil, who cursed a baby to die before she was even truly alive-,” here Mal’s eyes glowed a dangerous shade of green, only to calm when her sister gripped her hand. “The son of Jafar who tried to take over an entire kingdom because the sultan wouldn’t let him marry the Princess.” Aricka Page also gripped Jay’s hand soothingly so the boy wouldn’t do anything rash. “Not to mention the daughter of the evil queen who is surely nothing more than a gold digger and a cheat.” Aricka and Harry reached to soothe the now crying bluenette, anger burning Aricka’s skin. “The son of Cruella who is surely just as crazy as she was. The voice stealing daughter of Ursula and to make everything WORSE you invited Gaston’s spawn over-?! Belle and Adam’s worst ENEMY-?!”

“Hey that’s not very nice,”’Gil protested softly, only for Ella to speak over him,

“And don’t get me started on your so called boyfriend, daughter of mine. The son of Captain Hook-? Really-?! The man who tried to kill innocent children if they didn’t join his crew-? I bet he was just as evil as his father- he should’ve been left there just like the rest of them-!”

“ENOUGH MOTHER-!” Aricka yells, pushing Harry behind her and staring Cinderella down. “I am sick and tired of this. Ever since we started the Proclamation you’ve been against it. Saying the VKs are dangerous and evil and twisted. What about my cousins, huh? Do the names Diana and Anthony mean NOTHING to you-?! And don’t even THINK about hurting my friends- my chosen family. If you tried to get to know them you’d realize how very wrong your judgments of them are. Mal is so talented and creative and she just wanted to go to school and get more kids safe and off the Isle. Jay is strong and athletic and a great dancer and an even more loyal bodyguard and friend. Evie is beautiful and smart and kind and has a great fashion sense- she made my dress I’m wearing today.

Uma is not her mother- she is an amazing chef, navigator and storyteller. And don’t get me started on Gil LeGume- he’s so Good and he just keeps trying to do better, to learn everything he can, to enjoy all the little things in Auradon- Gil, I still wanna cry thinking about you experiencing grapes for the first time.” The blonde haired VK who looked too much like her and Chad smiled and said,

“Aw, thanks Aricka; I like you too-!” And she laughed because he was so easy to love.

“And finally, we come to Harry. And I could write a whole book on how he has changed me for the better. Harry showed me that I have worth simply because I am a good ally and friend to everyone I meet, that my beauty is from within; and that my power comes from the knowledge of those who have my back. Harry, I am forever grateful that we met and know each other. And Harry,” she takes a deep breath, “I know we’ve only known each other for a short time but I love you, plain and simple. I don’t care what anyone says or thinks, I’m yours. I’d give up being a princess if it meant I could be your girlfriend. Plain and simple.” And there; in front of everyone, she stood on tiptoes and kissed him, only to be jerked toward her mother who hissed,

“How DARE YOU-!” She wrenched away from her mother’s grip to retort,

“I dare because Harry is MY boyfriend; you can’t tell me who or how to love-!” A stinging sensation filled her cheek and Aricka recoiled from the feeling of being slapped.

Her mother hit her. Actually hit her. Her mother raised her hand to strike once more only for the queen of Cinderellasburg to fall down in a faint, Evie holding a blue bottle in her hand.

“Aricka come on-!” Harry retook her hand, and her other was claimed by Evie, and together they- hero and Isle child alike- ran to the safety of their dorms to regroup.

alskdjfasdfl i’ve been SLOWLY working on that as a fic and im-- we’d known each other for a while and both kinda had an idea that the feelings were mutual but neither wanted to make the leap. sure, there were a few times where Guzma joked about wanting to kiss me/me to kiss him, but it was ‘just a joke’ (right?). but then there came a time where he hurt himself and i was bandaging his forehead, and he told me to ‘kiss it better’. he didn’t sound like he was joking. it was only at that point that i realized how close our faces had been for quite a while and i know my own face got bright red. so i kissed his forehead overtop of the bandages. and he said that wasn’t what he meant, said, ‘just kiss me. please.’  so i did, and he kissed me back, and kept kissing me until we were both out of breath. i asked him if he felt better now. he grinned and said, ‘not yet, but it’s definitely working.’ so i kissed him again.  

💘 Tell about a tearful kiss?

both of us have issues with our parents, and eventually we got to talking seriously about it and venting some stuff. it got really heavy and i started rubbing my eyes to keep the tears in. he hugged me close and kissed my hair and told me if i wanted to cry he wouldn’t watch, he’d just hold me. i couldn’t help but cry then, and he rubbed my back and kissed my hair until i was done crying. i felt a lot better after. 

😽 Tell about a kiss with a funny story behind it!

it took my Feraligatr, Alfonso, a while to warm up to Guzma. early on after we had officially gotten together, Alfonso decided to let Guzma know that he did not approve and heckin....'’’’’’accidentally’’’’’ shoved him into a pool. obviously he was fine and hauled himself out right away, but then when i came over to check on him he pretended to collapse and said he needed ‘mouth to mouth’. he would not respond after that until i kissed him, which was actually kind of difficult because i was grinning so much at what a doofus he is.

Ah that's fair! I mostly just talk vaguely about them because I don't stick to one specific timeline and just bounce around ideas. Also thank you >////<

My basic F/O and S/I list are linked in my bio but there's not a lot about the relationship, so I'll probably link this to that soon. If you have any specifics you want to know I'm happy to answer those too! I am working on ref sheets of all my main AUs so hopefully soon there will be faces to attach with each one!

(This ended up being way longer than I thought, so I put it under a read more!)

Classic Blue

Kurt's always so helpful and sweet, helping my S/I. I tend to jump around the timeline, usually it's classic new team stuff, but sometimes it's Excalibur or when Logan ran the school. They are there to support each other. Ark is always blunt when it comes to helping him face problems he may not always know are there because that's what he needs, not dancing around the topic. Meanwhile Ark is slow to confront problems, and they can usually realize their problems and Kurt is there to be a support and help them at their own pace. I like doing the storyploints of him having to confront his foster family on a lot of nonsense from when he grew up, them helping him get used not to using his image inducer, and confronting the professor on a lot of his bullshit together. He's my default to think about and is definitely a huge comfort for me

Goldy

Goldy's important because he makes Ark actually feel important and special. He adores them so much, even at their worst. They're his source of comfort, and when they get together he is very much not in a good place but they are his rock while he works to get better. A lot of hurt/comfort with them, going both ways as theyre both healing from severe past trauma. Lots of late nights of nightmares and insomnia too. Fun secret dating stuff for a bit too. Kurt is also sort of a younger brother to Logan in this. W/eapon X hugely fucked him up, but he was only there for about a year. Main plot points I go back to are Kurt almost having the complete mental break he has in the canon ultimates comics but with Ark being there to bring him back to reality and help him (the start of their relationship too), dealing with the fact theyre kinda trapped and don't have a choice to not be X/men, and Ark preventing the ultimatum. Probably the one I focus on the most lately

Three

Three is what Goldy could have become, spending several years as part of the w/eapon X program (also being much younger when he was taken, about 13) and it broke him. It's all about the protective tough guy and soft squishy shorter one dynamic. He gets so easily lost in his paranoia and is so distanced from everyone and tends to scare people, but Ark helps ground him and connect him to those around him. Before Ark the only one he got along with was Logan, and that's because he goes with Logan to track down smaller branches program and shut them down. But now he's actually become (sort of) friends with the rest of the team! Specifically their friend group is Ark, Kurt, Piotr, Warren and Alison (Goldy has the same friend group but with rogue too) and theyre the only ones who have really gotten to know him. He has much less qualms about killing when he needs to and is very skilled at fighting with a variety of weapons. The main plot points I have are him not only slowly coming to terms with his PTSD but also Ark helping him learn to cope, Him confronting what he could have been by eventually going back to his family after years of not seeing them and realize he doesn't belong there anymore

Goldy and Three do have some overlapping plot points because they have the same roots which I'll mention here

-Being kidnapped because after a fight with his foster mom he ran off into the woods, which wasn't uncommon for him to do when upset but that's when he was taken

- Returning to his family to visit after being gone so long and trying to not only for in the place of who he once were but his family realizing something deeply changed about him. For Goldy he keeps going back to visit until it reaches a boiling point and talks very vaguely about it with his brother and his brother knows someone did something to him and his Mom overhears him on the phone with Ark after he has a panic attack from his PTSD. On the other hand Three is quick to realize how he'll never be who they think he is again, and doesn't visit often but keeps in contact.

-Though whatever methods he ends up meeting his dad A/zazel, who in this universe (cause I say so) isn't locked away in another reality and wanting to conquer this one. Instead he lives way way out in the countryside, having retired from his life of crime (how he met M/ystique, Kurt's mom) and settled down with a wife. He had 4 kids, A boy named Arthur who's 13, a girl named Jezabell (16), and the twins (9). Kurt ends up finding a lot of comfort in the family he never knew he had, and A/zazel never knew about Kurt and just considered M/ystique the one who got away. Three is a lot more cautious about this than Goldy is, but ends up having deep conversations with his dad that are very vaguely about what happened to him that Goldy wouldn't have.

Nighty

Nighty has had the same story since I first started self shipping, although details have changed over time. It's all about young dumb love, being deeply in love with your best friend and just the feeling of driving down the road to get out of the house with the windows down and blasting music and singing together. A lot of it is just fun dumb stuff, lots of shenanigans as their relationship is very casual. The most angsty it gets is Kurt very slowly comes to terms with the fact he's gay (also Nighty is the only version who's specifically gay, other AUs he's Bi). Big plot points I go back to are Kurt first realizing he's gay and going to Kitty cause the only other queer one on the team (that he knows of) is Ark and he likes him!!! He can't ask him about it!, Kurt and Ark just chilling together and they look over at him and smile and Kurt's heart is just so filled with love he kisses them which cause it catches them so off guard that they freeze and Kurt panics and teleports way (they talk about it later and kiss again), getting used to going to the local college and dealing with being in a new setting, Toad finding out theyre dating by catching them kissing and Ark threatening him if he tells anyone (he doesn't, he's also gay), Rogue finding out cause she borrows Kurt's powers and asking who all knows and Kurt says "Well Kitty, and Toad by accident, and I think Jean and the professor know, and maybe Logan? But he's hard to read so I'm not sure". Just a lot of fun secret dating shenanigans cause Kurt isn't ready to come out yet

To be honest those are the biggest ones to know? Big blue, Red and Band are so loose there's not really anything to talk about?

Big blue it's all about the big protective magical monster boyfriend, Red it's about the hurt comfort but darker this time (and usually has a different S/I than Ark) and with Band it's all about the band aesthetic and helping him heal
