It was so nice back then. When the sun was always shining and you and Elvis would play catch or football until your shirts and knees got scraped and dirty. Only to be scolded later on for getting such nice clothing filthy.

It was definitely not like that now. Nowadays you had to check in through a whole process. Going through unnecessary systems to make out that you had a true relationship with Elvis.

Walking and bumping through the hundreds and hundreds of girls that would wait and tap along his home door. Well maybe not hundreds and hundreds, but it was definitely tough. Even though it was tough on you,

you could only imagine how Elvis felt with this such new fame.

but all that seemed to fade away, as your dear lover dragged the eyeliner pencil across your eyelid. He lets out soft hums of satisfaction, although your eyes are closed, you can just tell that his cute little face was relaxed and focused. Those plump lips parted in determination.

You ask, with a raise of your brow, “how’s it looking?” When his hands finally pull away, you flutter your eyes open and smile softly. Only to be met with a boyish grin and shrug of those soft, meaty shoulders. “Hunny, somehow, you look the same.” He snickers and shrugs.

You furrow your eyebrows and immediately whip your head to turn into the mirror. “What? How’s that-“ you begin to quip when you see yourself and he quickly shakes his head and laughs. Pulling you onto his lap in a swift motion. He caresses you into a big bear hug, filling your nose, along with smooshing your face as well into his chest, with his musky, spicy cologne.

“Sugar, ah mean, beautiful. Yuh look beautiful as always, and somehow you still do with all the smudges and lines of black liner I put on ya.” He hums, nuzzling his lips onto the top of your head, drowning himself into your sweet strawberry and almond milk scented hair.

You burst out into a giggly fit, wrapping your arms around his smooth waist and smiling like a dork. He laughs along with you, picking up your chin to drag his thumb on your rosy pink cheeks. Then his giggle dies down, but that boyish smirk is still played onto his lips.

He presses his slender finger onto your lips and looks into your eyes. Those bright blue gaze into yours, “pillow, ya’s gotta be more quiet. Ya know my mama and daddy’s in the room next door.”You nod understandingly, planting your palms on either side of his lap and then smashing your lips to his.

You can stay like this, forever and ever. Young in love, in your boyfriend’s arms and lay on his jiggly thighs while you kiss him. But you know that you’re asking a lot there, life is life. It’s not easy, and another thing that’s just as hard is: love.

When you finally break away and resume smiling, he whispers and asks, “wanna play last card, or monopoly? Or hmm, something else?” He raises one perfect brow, and looks down at you.

You shake your head and caress his cheeks into your soft, dainty hands. “No…not right now.” You smile softly, looking into his eyes. You wanna take in this moment, almost record it to be a forever vivid vision.

he giggles and rolls his eyes, bringing up his hands to squeeze your hands to his face and sticking his tongue out. He darts his eyes cross and snickers, “ya jus’ scared I’ll beat ya at last card. Like I always do.”

You scrunch your nose and playfully pinch his cheeks and pull back. “No, I just wanna lie with you…I never get to do that alot with you nowadays.” You admit softly, and he nods slowly.

There’s a little pause, when Elvis dips his head down with pursed lips in realization. “Yeah…w-we can do that too.” He looks up with a small smile and soft eyes. “We can always do that.”

When you and Elvis finally tuck into bed. There’s only both of your soft breathing to be heard, and the snore of his parents’ that go on in the other room. The thin wall isn’t much of a divider, not really muffling any sounds, but eh. Who cares now?

Elvis rests his soft chin into your neck, with one arm hugging your waist that is decorated with your ruffled and scrunched, light pink night dress. And his other arm bends above your pretty little head, as his hand gently runs his fingers through your locks.

“It’s hard, y/n. I just…I don’t think I-I’ll find anyone else in this world that loves me as much as you, my mama, and my pops does.” He whispers out in the air, leaning down to press a warm kiss on your cheek. “And that’s fine with me.” He smiles against your face and then buries his nose in the crook of your neck.

You hum and smile to yourself, blushing like a mad woman and reaching a hand up to tangle into his hair, “That’s fine with me also.” You let out a soft giggle, and then shift to turn on your side and face him.

It’s an intimate and beautiful moment. Where you feel the hot breath of his against your face, and his hooded lids that shelter his navy blue orbs. His sharp and fine nose that’s pointed down at you. You smile and you snuggle into him more, gliding your cheek against his freshly smooth and shaven one.

“you deserve all the love in the world. All the good, the great…you deserve it all, Elvis. You really do…and I’m gonna give it to you. I’ll give you the world, E.P.” You promise firmly and close your eyes, leaning your forehead to his sweet lips.

“I promise.”

Why Stay? — Nellie Lovett x OC

Summary: Nellie begins to question Effie's reason for staying on at the pie shop.

Warnings: Some light angst, mentions of death

A/N: Consider this as a sneak preview into a part of their fic.

"She’s charming. Always been charming. Nothing you need to get yourself all worked into a tizzy about, Nellie," she tried to self soothe, hoping that saying the words aloud would enhance their effectiveness, but it was not meant to be. The rolling of the dough used to be calming for her, and allowed her to clear her head, but here she was, having rolled it near as thin as a sheet of paper and she hadn’t even realized. Still, she could salvage it. That was something at least.

Her mind was filled with too many questions these days. Questions which led her to distraction in her waking hours and made for fitful nights of sleep. The Larkin girl. It had all started with her. She’d been with her —working for her— for some time now, reliable as ever, but Nellie couldn’t help but have her doubts.

It was the nature of her business that first raised these doubts. Effie may have been hardly more than a street urchin when she’d come across her, but now she was flourishing, and could no doubt have her pick of London's men, maybe even marry above her station in life, and yet, here she stayed, luring unsuspecting men to their deaths. But why?

It’s not as if she wished Effie would move on to better and brighter things. Surely she wanted that for her, but it wouldn’t be the same were she to go. She didn’t want her to go, but she couldn’t understand why she’d stay. It was immensely frustrating, actually. The clunk of heeled boots, and the creak of the stairs interrupted Nellie's inner monologue, and signaled to her that Effie had returned, leading yet another unfortunate sap up to a fatal haircut with Mr. Todd.

She’d have to say something, that was the beginning and end of it. Soon as she came down, she’d ask her outright. It had to be done. The loud, metallic clanging of the bell on the shop door rang just then, announcing Effie's entrance to the pie shop. "Shit," Nellie cursed, barely audible. She wasn’t ready.

"Good evening, Mrs. Lovett," Effie greeted cheerily. Her rosy cheeks and bright smile contrasted so starkly with the shop and the nature of their shared business that sometimes Nellie had a hard time believing she was even real. Would be like her to make up such a girl, now wouldn’t it? "Is something on your mind," Effie asked, once again taking her away from the goings on in her head.

"I did have a question, if I may." Effie nodded her permission for her to ask her question. "Why do you stay? Here, at the pie shop, doing…well, what you do. I know why you accepted my offer, but the shop is doing well now, I dare say." Nellie paused to knock on the thick wooden table she was preparing the pies at. "So I guess I was merely curious why you don’t go elsewhere, do less unsavory work."

Effie took a moment to consider her answer. She knew the reason she stayed on, but putting it into words took a bit of finessing. "I made a choice then, and I make the same choice now. Perhaps I could be engaged in some other line of work, or married, but that is not what I want for my life. I like it here. It feels like home, however dreary or macabre some may find it. I have become good friends with Mr. Todd, well as much as anyone can, I suppose."

Effie punctuated her last remark on Mr. Todd's nature with a tinkling laugh, the one Nellie so very much enjoyed. As she felt herself begin to smile, Nellie bent down her head to hide it from her, suddenly seeming very interested in the rolling pin.

"And I have you," Effie continued. "Even if I felt that I didn’t owe you a debt for bringing me in off the streets, I could imagine myself no place else. It isn’t the roof over my head that keeps me here. It is you."

This caused Nellie to freeze as the words settled around her, coagulating in her mind. Finally, she looks up at Effie, who's been awaiting her reaction. "Me," Nellie questioned, hating the way her voice betrayed her disbelief.

"Yes," Effie surely reaffirmed. Yet the shock on Nellie's face gave her pause. Perhaps she’d read her wrong. "Should I not have said? I wouldn’t have, only I believed you felt the same. Did you want me to leave? I regret if I’ve misconstrued—"

"No," Nellie interrupted. How good to know she wasn’t the only one who bumbled on like a dolt. She cleared her throat as Effie fell silent. "I don’t want you to go. Not ever. You’re welcome here as long as you like."

Effie smiled softly. "Then I think I should like to stay forever."

So maybe the most important thing you need to know about this mix is that we've been adding to it since 2002.

The original, CD-length version of it (in 2005!) was a mix based on the beats of the anime, which then got separated into Vash and Wolfwood mixes. Then those got rejoined into a single mix and reshuffled to fit the beats of the manga, and then got expanded upon. I think its last major revision was ... 2011? Sure, that sounds about right. The biggest change in recent memory was when we moved it over to Spotify and lost all the songs that aren't on Spotify (including the song the title comes from, though the title remains).

Which means the second most important thing you need to know about this mix is that it's a collaboration, put together by two queer people who were best friends when its creation started, and now have been married for fourteen years.

She died in a fire in the bakery she was running where she made ‘meat pies’! She always had a way of makin people feel at home with her cooking. So if she had a latent ability, I thought it could be manipulating scents to trigger specific emotions in fellow sinners! Yeeee! Anywho, this is Eloise! She died in the 1880’s and affectionately goes by Mama El by her friends! She’s very maternal and loving to her friends and fiercely violent towards her enemies, often turning those who cross her or her mates into pies~ ((yes she’s inspired by Mrs. Lovett))

Your blog was recommended to me since I was looking for some yandere content. Do you write that? I know requests are closed now, but I was wondering if you have any characters you would consider yandere that aren't normally thought of or that could go that way easily?

I do! I love yandere’s so much.

I’m going to try not to let the fact that yandere’s are my jam cloud  my judgement, but I’m making no promises. Also even though this is my horror blog, I’ve included non horror related media in the mix.

If y’all can think of any more underrated/potential characters that belong here, let me know!

Not Mentioned Often:

Chip Douglas (The Cable Guy) One of the only examples I know of that goes full yandere for people he considers a friend. Like not even a romantic interest (well, I suppose that’s debatable.)

Creepy Thin Man (Charlie’s Angels) The hair sniffing scenes alone qualify him for this. Queue me as a kid watching it like, “what’s wrong with me? Why do I feel like this?”

Doug (Rosy) Forewarning: he’s got the “nice guy” vibes. But also he chases his love through the woods and that’s pretty hot.

King George III (Hamilton) “I will kill your friends and family to remind you of my love.” I know he’s talking about America, but in my mind he’s singing it directly to me.

Rachel/Mildred Kemp (The Uninvited) Honestly you could just make her character profile say “yandere” and it’d be complete.

Rotti Largo (Repo! The Genetic Opera) Dude is a dead ringer for the, “if I can’t have you, no one can” trope. His obsession lingered for 17 years, too.

Russell Williams (Secret Obsession) You don’t get any more yandere than this dude right here. I’m trying not to spoil anything here, but you should definitely give this one a chance if you haven’t already. 

Tom Ripley (The Talented Mr. Ripley) He follows the same trope as Rotti, he just carries himself in a more soft manor than the former.

Yandere Potential:

Cesaire (Red Riding Hood) If you turn his obsession with making his kid a werewolf toward a love interest, you’ve got a yandere. He comes with the bloodlust already.

Cyrus Kriticos (Thirteen Ghosts) Similar to Cesaire, if you turn his obsession toward a (living) person/people, I don’t doubt he’d be one.

Mrs. Lovett (Sweeney Todd) She’s very devoted. If you just tweaked that the right amount, it could tilt into obsession.

Stephanie Smothers (A Simple Favor) I don’t know if she’d go full violence or not, but she’s got the obsession down pat. That and she can go the stalker route easily.
