There are soooo many Ross Verlag post cards of Connie for sale on Ebay and NONE of them are used. I really want one that's been written on by a Veidt fangirl from back then. That would be such a treasure.

Ross Verlag was a German postcard publisher who specialized in celebrity photos. As one of the big stars of German silent cinema, Conrad Veidt was often featured on their cards.
An archive of their celebrity photos can be found here, and is well worth checking out.

Diomira Jacobini, probably in Der Trödler von Amsterdam (1925) par Truus, Bob & Jan too! Via Flickr : Vintage postcard. Fox Film. Editor an nationality unknown. Possibly a German card by Ross Verlag. Jacobini acted in the German Fox production Der Trödler von Amsterdam/ The Dealer from Amsterdam (Victor Janson 1925, Deutsche Vereins-Film AG (Defa-Deutsche Fox)). The plot deals with a poor old dealer, Arent van Bergh (Werner Krauss), whose only friend is Oliver, a young philosopher (Alf Blütecher). The dealer's daughter Annette (Jacobini) wants to escape the black hole she lives in and is easily won over by a friend to explore the sinful places of the city, where she becomes infatuated by a wild criminal (Anton Pointner). With Oliver's help the dealer will unmask the criminal as a ruthless murderer, which will open Annette's eyes. Diomira Jacobini (1899-1959) was one of the stars of the Italian silent cinema. She was the younger sister of film diva Maria Jacobini, in whose shadow she always stayed. Diomira appeared in some 55 films in Italy, Germany and Denmark.

Asta Nielsen in Der Abstürz (1923) by Truus, Bob & Jan too!
German postcard by Ross Verlag, Berlin, no. 560/4. Photo: Art -Film. Asta Nielsen and Ida Wogau in Der Abstürz/Downfall (Ludwig Wolff, 1923).
Danish silent film actress Asta Nielsen (1881-1972), was one of the most popular leading ladies of the 1910s and one of the first international film stars. Of her 74 films between 1910 and 1932, seventy were made in Germany where she was known simply as 'Die Asta'. Noted for her large dark eyes, mask-like face, and boyish figure, Nielsen most often portrayed strong-willed passionate women trapped by tragic consequences.

German postcard. Ross Verlag, Berlin, No. 1309/1. Loew Metro Goldwyn. It was in 1924 that Marcus Loew who already owed Metro Pictures bought the company Goldwyn Pictures. In 1925 the company would be named Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. So this card may date of 1924.

Greta Garbo in Romance (1930) by Truus, Bob & Jan too!
"German collectors card by Ross Verlag for the Tonfilmserie, no. 372, by Manoli A.G., Berlin. Photo: George Hurrell / Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Greta Garbo in Romance (Clarence Brown, 1930).
Swedish Greta Garbo (1905-1990) was one of the greatest and most glamorous film stars ever produced by the Hollywood studio system. She was part of the Golden Age of the silent cinema of the 1920’s and was one of the few actors who made a glorious transition to the talkies. She started her career in the European cinema and would always stay more popular in Europe than in the USA."

Anna May Wong by Truus, Bob & Jan too!
Via Flickr:
German cigarette card in the series Unsere Bunten Filmbilder by Ross Verlag for Cigarettenfabrik Josetti, Berlin, no. 187. Photo: Paramount.
Stunning Anna May Wong (1905-1961) was the first Chinese American movie star, and the first Asian American actress to gain international recognition. Frustrated by the stereotypical supporting roles she reluctantly played in Hollywood, Wong left for Europe, where she starred in such classics as Piccadilly (1929).
