Moteé served as a member of the Naboo Royal Handmaidens protecting Padmé Amidala during the final days of the Clone Wars.
She was discreet, able to keep the secret of the relationship between Amidala and the Jedi Anakin Skywalker.

Undercover Queen [ 2021 ]
My annual Star Wars day aka May the 4th picture I made back in 2021. Seems just like yesterday I was working on this. Not the worst digital painting I’ve done not the best either lol. But I still wanted to share my favorite Queen and her badass handmaiden bodyguard!

here is a moodboard I made based on the fact that I feel like there should be more water themeing in padmé’s costumes
naboo is a world with a water core, with an amphibious indigenous species, and actual sea monsters! padmé deserves to dress like a sea queen!

“She did what? Your majesty, I am so sorry.”
Breha didn’t reply immediately. She pressed her fingers to her temples and smoothed her perfect skin back from her face. She sighed. “Well, it can’t be helped. I suppose she was always going to hear the story sooner or later. And it’s not your fault she takes after her mother.”
Sabé laid a hand over the Queen’s. “She takes after both her mothers,” she said gently. Breha made these kind of references from time to time, and Sabé’s heart ached for her every time she did.
Bail had always seemed entirely secure in his identity as Leia’s father, right from the day he first brought her home, but Breha seemed occasionally to question whether she truly could call herself her mother. Maybe it was because she hadn’t carried her in her body, hadn’t given birth to her or nursed her.
Or perhaps it was easier to assume the title of father when the other man with a claim to it was Anakin Skywalker.
Breha smiled and squeezed Sabé’s hand. The moment passed, and Sabé remembered she was in the middle of an apology.
“I should have seen this coming. She’d learnt about the invasion of Naboo from her tutor, so she was asking about it.” Leia knew very little about Sabé’s past, but she did know she was from Naboo.
“She was asking about Amidala, and how she persuaded the Gungans to help her. So I told her the Queen earned their trust through revealing that she and her handmaiden had swapped places, to protect her.”
Sabé shook her head. “She went quiet, Breha, and that’s when I should have known. She started saying she didn’t believe me, that two people who weren’t related couldn’t look so much alike. So I told her about how the royal outfits and make up were designed to conceal, the effect body language and confidence can have, how people usually see what they expect to see. And now - this.”
“Well, we found her in time, and there’s no harm done. And I don’t think you should blame yourself for not seeing what she was up to. But, Sabé?”
“Yes Breha?”
“I think you may need to be a little more cautious in future when regaling my daughter with tales of your handmaiden exploits.”
Sabé nodded. “Of course. But truly, I have no worries that she would use whatever she might learn for anything other than good.” She smiled at her friend.
“After all, she is her mothers’ daughter.”

gotta get it out of my system
Relationship(s): Padmé/Sabé, Padmé & Her Handmaidens
Rating: M
Word Count: ~5.2k
Additional Tags: Canon Compliant-ish, Pre-Star Wars: Attack Of The Clones, Queen Padmé Amidala, Naboo Royal Handmaidens, Planet Naboo, Female Friendship, Friendship/Love, Ambiguous Relationships, Mild Sexual Content, Recreational Drug Use, Alcohol, Bad Decisions, Skinny Dipping, Coming Of Age, HoloNet, Scandal, Vacation, Padmé & Her Girl Gang: Spring Break Edition
It's as they splash through a creek, cold water leaving a spray of dark droplets on Padmé’s riding clothes, that a shocking feeling of freedom crashes over her. She may chide Sabé for her fantasies of normalcy, but for a moment or two Padmé can see the appeal. Because she hasn’t thought once about her duties since touching down at the Manor, no politics or diplomacy or threats to the Republic. She’s just…existed. Not as Padmé Amidala, Queen of Naboo, but as Padmé Naberrie, woman and friend and lover.
She shouldn’t find it as thrilling as she does.
Or: Padmé and her handmaidens take a much-needed holiday and things get a little out of control.

Remembering Versé
Tumblr media
"How have it happened?" Umé thought to herself.
It seemed as if a short time ago, as a handmaiden, Umé was helping Senator Amidala return back to Coruscant, but then the Clone Wars began and when they ended - she believed that all would be fine from now on, but here she was... taking a part in Amidala's funeral procession.
The handmaiden thought of herself as a down-to-earth person. She learned it in a hard way. It was sad to say that the first person, who taught her it was Versé, Amidala's handmaiden before the war.
Back then, it was Umé's first mission and she was very excited. Most of Amidala's staff didn't seem to be bothered by her enthusiasm, but Versé... she was kind and didn't chided her, but there was definitely something off. The handmaiden only advised her to be calm and do her best. Then Versé boarded her ship with Cordé and Umé joined Dormé (disguised as Padmé Amidala) on her shuttle, who were meant to reach Coruscant with an alternative way. During the journey, the young girl spent hours of thinking about the other handmaiden, but still she couldn't put a good word, which would describe what Versé meant. There was a danger, but they surely would manage in completing the mission successfully.
The realisation came few hours later, when she and Dormé landed on the capital - naivety. Senator was fine, but Cordé and Versé, with whom she talked so short time ago... were dead. What's more, a few days later, the galactic war started.
Umé could not stand it and resigned from her position. However the Naboo, to which the girl returned, started changing day by day for worse. In the beginning Umé stil believed that all somehow would be well, but it didn't. She stupidly started wishing to go back in time, but then what would she do? The Clone War would start anyway, Umé wasn't so powerful to stop it. Could she maybe save a few lives? Or maybe just one? Or maybe could she just tell Versé that she wasn't naive any more? She knew the real life now.
In the end the girl found the strength to get up, help her poor neighbours, support coming refugees and became a handmaiden of Queen Apailana.
Finally, the war ended!!! All would be fine... right?
Umé was walking behind Amidala's coffin surrounded by hundreds of people, but she could only hear Versé's advise in her head - to be calm and do her best. The handmaiden glanced at Queen Apailana, she would do just that.
