This is a portrait of Jaremi Carey, performing under the stage name Phi Phi O’Hara, who is probably one of my favorite drag queens overall. My style has greatly evolved since making this piece but there’s a lot I love about it still - the use of complimenting colors and the style and energy. I would love to make an updated piece one day.

The best part is, Jaremi himself saw this and commissioned me to do a t-shirt design for him!! And he is a lovely person who was a joy to work with

summary:

bosco, freshly moving in her apartment flourished with large windows as a merciless source of heat, meets the eye of the interested and curious brunette, daya, sat in the comfort of her chilly room. with piqued interests and a sense of boredom, what do they have in store?

chapter 1: 

oh god, was she tired.

after the long hours of ripping duct tape off of filled-to-the-brim cartons and unpacking the said boxes, bosco has finally proclaimed that she was tired.

and at this point, in the perimeters of her new apartment complex, she was sprawled in the carpet along with furniture that haven’t been placed in their proper places. well, everything except her couch placed parallel to the window.

her new place wasn’t exactly large nor was it small. the rent was quite high in the area too, but what sold her was the large windows that exchanged one of the four walls wrapping around her. they stretched till mere inches were left off the ceiling and floor. it also helped that she scored a complex well high up the city floors – exactly 10 floors higher.

a disadvantage these large window panes bring to her though is the merciless summer heat. and she had only realized this in her current disposition, laid on the carpet directly exposed to the rays of sun entering, in what we could assume to be, her living room.

she then reached for one of the smaller boxes and ripped off a flap, fanning her face in hopes for some temporary relief. she then sits up and rests her back to the red couch, combing through her slightly damp hair.

“hellhole,” bosco muttered under her breath.

she then proceeded to stand up and walk near to the heat radiator that was the windows.

she scanned the buildings near the street to find a place she could lounge in that had a proper working air-conditioner.

as she dragged her eyes up, there was her particular heaven, 3 floors higher. a cold, well-ventilated room.

she knew it would’ve been cold there because the room’s practically fogged enough for there to be some provided opacity. and it was definitely not hot there either since the other rooms in the building based the outside view, had the same clear windows as she had.

she assumed that the owner was pretty rich too since the room was pretty lush. what she could see through the part of the large window that wasn’t covered by the red curtains seemed like pretty expensive furniture. there were gold embellishments here and there – the couch, the coffee table and chairs.

“what kind of dirty business do you have to be in to get that,” she mutters to herself as she finally sat at the couch, the room still in her line of vision.

and just as she was gawking inside her well-furnished heaven, the curtains were then swayed, broadcasting the whole room to her bare eyes. and boy, was it beautiful.

she took this as a sign to tear her eyes away though because she finally saw some proof of living – one wiping the tall and wide glass and one sat on one of the chairs.

the blonde woman sweltering profusely truly tried to pry her eyes off the owned property, but she can’t help but sneak a look at the room now without that nuisance of the fog.

and there laid a clearer version of the person laid at the chair in all her glory. filthy rich, beautiful, and raw.

she found herself staring, not anymore at the furniture, but at the tall, brunette lady who was peering over the windows now.

oh shit. it failed to register sooner to bosco that the person she has been staring at for quite some time had travelled her way conveniently near the window, now looking directly at her.

as an act of reflex, she jumped in panic and distanced herself away from the window, chanting a few profanities under her breath.

she couldn’t bear the thought at the fact that she had just moved in and she has already creeped out a neighbour. probably a filthy rich one that can easily kick her out at that.

after a few minutes of making laps around her small house, bosco finally inched near the windows again, sure that the tall woman wouldn’t be there anymore.

as she slowly ran her eyes upwards again, there she meets her eyes – formidable, despite being meters away.

as bosco was about to back away yet again from the others peripheral, she saw the tall brunette smile at her.

this put some faith on the poor blonde girl that maybe just like her, the woman must’ve been new in the area and in need of some company!

so as she mustered up all her courage, she returned the classic white-american-line-smile.

and much to her surprise, the tall woman reciprocated a short chuckle before turning her attention to the person who was previously wiping her windows.

feeling her chest heave faster from both humiliation and amusement, the blonde would spend the rest of her day unboxing her television and sparing a few glances at the brunette’s window — growing more and more curious at who this person was.

she would let her piqued interest subside for the day and spend the night lying on her couch.

little did bosco know what was coming for her.

The runway theme for the second episode of Drag Race All Stars 8 was ‘Net Gala’. That got me thinking about nature’s net - a spider’s web. This inspired me to create a vampy flapper look once I stumbled across this gorgeous dress by Happy Life Sims.
