hi. since it seems the Doctor Who fandom has, once again, decided to collectively forget how fucking racist RTD was with Martha Jones, let's review:
despite being a literal doctor, Martha was consistently made to feel inadequate purely because she was not Rose, a blonde haired, blue eyed teenage girl
just the constant way she was expected to self-sacrifice for the Doctor's sake while Rose got to be selfish time and time again
upon arriving in 16th century England, Martha was rightfully concerned about facing racism. to which she was pretty much told it was in her head and she had to get over it.
the Doctor erased his memories to go play lover boy with some 1913 white woman and left Martha to be his Black Servant, offering her little to no protection from racism
after the season ended, she just randomly stopped being a doctor to become a soldier once it no longer served the plot?
her engagement was broken up off screen and she was married off to Mickey, despite them never interacting and likely just because they were the two Black characters rejected by tenrose.
and these are just things I'm recalling off memory from ten years ago, which means I'm sure there's way more that I'm leaving off the list. and this is just Martha specific stuff, not even getting into Mickey or side characters.
so, like, maybe bringing back the white man who can only write Black characters as being stepping stones in Great White Love Stories isn't a good thing for Doctor Who.

Okay, so RTD is coming back to Doctor Who, Teen Wolf gets a sequel movie, Supernatural's prequel series is in the making, Benedict Cumberbatch is somehow still a popular dark-haired-brit-tumblr-crush as is Tom Hiddleston (I understand that one a little to be fair, he's nice), Loki is for sure gonna show up on at least three lists when we do the whole 2021 in review thing, Twilight is having a bit of a comeback and Percy Jackson is getting a Disney+ show. I swear I'm not gonna complain about any of this, I'm even looking forward to the oncoming chaos, BUT where is Merlin?
