Meeting the Parents

(After In the Afterlight)

Even though Ruby has technically met Harry and Grace through phone calls and that one fateful night at Thurmand, she is still unbelievably stressed to actually meet them

Maybe it's because she's scared they will blame her for the death of Cole or maybe just because it is their sons girlfriend and they have a right to be protective over him

Even after her and Liams phone call last night when he promised that they already love her and they barely have even met her

When she gets to the hotel where the conference is being held, she is constant on look out watching for either Liam or his parents

Baby time skip- After they get back from their last joy ride- the parents/guardians found each other (they've been in contact the last few days) to search for the kids because everyone is worried about the kids new found fame- especially Ruby

The parents meet right outside where Liam parks his parents car and each of the parent/guardian has a different facial expression on

Liam's parents: excitement mixed with stress mixed with grief

Ruby's parents: PURE stress and fear because Ruby forgot to tell them where she was going

Cate: motherly disappointment in the group but so so so proud of how far they came

Chub's parents: bliss that chubs finally did something minorly idiotic

And of course as she is getting out of the car, Ruby trips on her cast and she is mortified that she just fell on her ass infront of all the parents and now can't get up.

she just sits there.

she then realizes she should definitely get up and so she tries but its no use and just as all of the parents are about to say something, here comes her night in shining armor to lift her up and kiss her on her cheek. IN FRONT OF THEIR PARENTS

She is actually mortified and so embarrassed until, "I think you could walk better without the cast on and half dying," and Harry chuckled, "you really do do better under pressure, Cole was right"

Just that caused Ruby to be 10x better about everything

My first ask!! Sorry for taking so long <3

I feel like if that we’re the case, Liam would make her his number one priority while Cole would still have her as a priority, but more so like his relationship with Liam. The two brothers would definitely clash over what they think is right for her with Liam wanting to find somewhere safe (rip East River), and Cole would want her to join the League (though I could see him potentially letting Liam take her, if that’s what was safest).

My money’s on her being a blue. My reasoning is vibes and vibes alone.

She and Zu would be so close, it’s unbelievable. While this may cause some issues with the canon storyline in the sense that Zu bonded so closely with Ruby over the fact that there weren’t any other girls in her life, I feel like the three of them would still get REALLY close.

LIAM WOULD CALL CLAIRE AND RUBY HIS LADIES!!

THAT’S ALL I GOT FOR NOW BUT MAYBE MORE IN THE FUTURE??

Rubiam Wedding Headcannons

- Liam plans this romantic trip to Virginia Beach and plans to propose to her at sunset front of the ocean.

- Went over the plan a hundred times with Chubs and Cole.

- He’s in the middle of his speech when Ruby sees Cate pull up and runs over to say got to Jude and Zu.

- He just stands there all disappointed and annoyed with himself trailing after Ruby dejectedly and deciding to propose after dinner on the beach under the stars.

- When they walk back into the hotel room Cole picks Ruby up and spins her in circles and congratulates her on her engagement.

- “I’m so happy for you Gem! You’re going to make a beautiful bride!”

-Sees Liam gesturing wildly over Ruby shoulder and panics.

- “Bride my bride, what I mean to say is will you marry me? You see I’ve always been in love with you…”

- Liam is just giving him a death glare the whole time.

-Ruby ignores him and turns toward Lee in complete shock. She’s already crying when he gets down on one knee and pulls out a ring.

-She says yes obviously and everyone is thrilled.

- Liam asks Chubs to be his best man because “you proposed to my girlfriend Cole!”

- But it doesn’t really matter because Ruby asks Cole to be her maid of honor. He’s honored and he picks her up again and spins her around to annoy Liam.

- For months Liam tries to convince Ruby to trick Cole into thinking he had to wear a dress as payback.

- Ruby doesn’t agree but Vida does and she freaks Cole out.

- Cole plans the most badass bachelorette party for Ruby, Zu, Vida, and Sam. The evening includes cupcake decorating and a really expensive dinner. (Everything they never got to do in the camps)

- The morning of their wedding Cole goes to Liam and he thinks it’s to comfort him but then Cole sits down and tells him that he’ll kill him if he ever hurts Ruby.

- Then hugs him and leaves him standing there super confused.

- The ceremony is beautiful and Liam and Ruby both cry.

- They have the sweetest handwritten vows.

- Liam dances with Zu and Ruby dances with Cole and they both have an amazing evening.

- Everyone wishes them good luck when they leave for their honeymoon to Hawaii.

- It’s some of the best days of their lives.

TDM AU Headcanons

Ok I have tons of ideas about the tdm characters in high school.

- ‘Ruby straight A’s Daly’

-Liam would suck at sports but has so much enthusiasm he would be a school mascot, I will not back down from this opinion.

-Cole would be a jock and everyone loves him, and is best friends Ruby.

-Claire and Zu would be best friends, they would go everywhere together

-Chubs, would be neck and neck with Clancy for student body president, and would be super uptight.

-Vida would be a badass jock, like probably captain of 5 sport teams or smth

-Ruby loves to tutor kids and ends up tutoring Jude and Zu 

-Liam the first time he sees Ruby would be super nervous like, ‘Hey- I’m um, you’re- uh Ruby- nice eyes. 

-Ruby would giggle and blush and secretly love it

-Liam would start this nerdy band with Chubs called ‘Black Betty’ and print out 50 T shirts, and stuff them in random people’s lockers while Chubs has to apologise for his maniacal friend.

-Cole would drive a motorcycle to school every day, ngl

-Teachers getting mixed up with Cole and Liam ALL THE TIME.

-Chubs would start a hundred clubs like ‘paramedics club’ and ‘stitching taken seriously club’

-Chubs and Ruby would meet at a book club and would bond ever since.

-Clancy trying to flirt with Ruby who gets so annoyed and finally falls for Liam.

-Cole making fun of his best friend and his goofy little brother non stop.

-Vida and Chubs would shock the whole school. Vida would kiss him in front of everybody and not give a damn while Chubs is just standing there, getting so flustered

-Liam cheering for his best friend getting a girl and would say embarrassing stuff like ‘My Chubsie just moved up in the world!!’

Black Betty PARENTS appreciation post bc why not

Ruby trying to explain how she sees brains to chubs' dad and he gets her a bunch of psychology textbooks because we know that nerd's father is a walking library.

And then them having hour long conversations about how brains works and certain experiments in the field

" so your telling me this one fella Harry Harlow raped monkeys.... to see if they needed their mothers love?" " that's correct." " ....the FUCK?!" " RUBY CAN I HAVE MY FATHER BACK! PLEASE"

Liam, his dad, and ruby's dad all making dad jokes after darkest legacy and cracking up over them while none of their kids think it's funny " to the man that stole the camouflage onesie in the wheel chair-" " -you can hid but you can't run!"

Chubs and Ruby's mom going on walks because everyone is stressing them out " mrs Daly I have a white hair look IM OLD AND IM GOING TO DIE YOUNG" and him exchanging recipes with grams to take to DC for Nico and Zu(I have a head cannon Nico gets nightmares and just started baking till cate wakes up to 80 brownies and has to walk him back to bed)

The all definitely have a monthly get together without their kids where

1. The dads argue about grilling and Liam burns something when it's his turn to watch it because he got distracted looking at Ruby

2. Someone's car almost always breaks down and Harry has to drive out and get them

3. The bakers AKA the moms (Grace, Susan , and Ruby) all try to one up each other in cooking because they're all insanely talented, everyone is definitely about to throw up after having "5 frickin plates of casserole"

Chubs's lawyer mom being so proud of everyone when they give a (not so)subtle fuck you to the government every now and than and gets them all ice cream after long government meetings while going over certain legal things with them

grams goes with them and actually sheds a cinimagic tear the first time she sees all three of them together calling politicians stupid. takes them out for diner and will unironicly call chubs and Liam her grandchildren( vida, nico, and zu too)

chubs mom makes sure Ruby knows her rights when the government tries to fuck her over(almost always)

Ruby's parents being used to her running off in the middle of the night so they're not too worried when she just disappears with only a little " be back later love ya" note

On the other hand grace just about faints the first time she hears this and yells at Liam for kid napping Ruby.

Ruby's mom was a history teacher so she loves "Hamilton" and will jam out to it in the car, grace loves singing to songs off key and with slightly wrong lyrics with Lee so any chance they get theyll be in the car together yelling "history has its eyes on youuuuuhuuhhh"

Please add on I love the gangs worried parents and their kids who will jump into danger with zero regard for their safety
