Supreme Leader of the Exaltants
Right before my trip to South Korea and Japan, I managed to polish off one more short indie game. Keeping with the theme of cults and the supernatural, I went with Australian darling: Cult of the Lamb. It's not every day that an Australia based studio makes it big when it comes to gaming. But when they do, it's a huge splash! Look no further than Hollow Knight. Similarly, Cult of the Lamb scratches an itch I didn't realise I wanted when it came to a roguelite video game with cult-builder hidden inside.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The game starts off with a sacrifice of the player-character, the lamb. They are saved by death by The One Who Waits and are then expected to create a loyal following in its name. So begins a game where one is forced to gather resources to build up the cult, ensure their followers are happy, and go on crusades to take down the four Bishops plaguing the land.
While I have mostly shied away from rogue-likes with base-building elements, for example, Don't Starve, there was something oddly charming about Cult of the Lamb. It also helped that the game wasn't very long or very difficult. The controls, in particular, never much deviated from how it was originally introduced. I was dodging past attacks and hacking away at them with ease.
As the game went on, however, heavy attacks were introduced along with curses and relics. These added new strategy to the battles by giving players something more to play around with such as long-ranged barrage of spells at the enemy. While good against bosses, in normal encounters, I still favoured getting up and personal to my enemies. Mostly because the use of curses were limited.
The weapons and abilities were always randomised at the start of each dungeon run, allowing players to experiment with what they liked and what they didn't. However, it also ran the risk of locking players into picking between two weapons they didn't much like.
It soon became clear to me my favourite weapon were the daggers, despite their short range, or the blunderbuss. The hammer and the sword weren't as much fun - the sword because it lacked quite a bit in damage, and the hammer because it was unwieldy and slow.
The format for the crusades, though, keeps it simple. There are multiple dungeons, which one has to run through four times before they reach one of the Bishops. Each of the dungeons have their own theme. This, in turn, impacts the resources one can find inside, as well as provide a different customisable skin for any followers the Lamb recruits inside.
These roguelite elements were balanced by the base-building elements. And I found myself quickly getting sucked into managing the life of my followers by giving sermons, ensuring they were praying to me or gathering resources for further expansion. By the end of the game, I had a self-sufficient farm and my followers were decently satisfied with how I was running things.
Story-wise, Cult of the Lamb relies primarily on exposition from the Bishops as you travel through their region and take them down. This reveals the backstory for The One Who Waits and its connection to the other Bishops of the Old Faith. Once all four are taken down, the chains to The One Who Waits are broken and the Lamb can return the demonic crown they were gifted and be sacrificed in their name. However, it is clear from the reactions of the followers they do not want you to go.
Tumblr media
As such, the Lamb can choose to rise up against The One Who Waits. Doing so means doing battle with Baal and Aym. Once these two are waited, The One Who Waits attempts to kill the Lamb themself. However, I was able to pull through and defeat the one who saved me. Doing so, I was able to spare The One Who Waits and indoctrinate them into my cult as a follower.
Cult of the Lamb is not a complex game. It has many fun elements to it that make it a worthwhile purchase. What made it stand out to me, though, was its unique cutesy art style which juxtaposed the themes within the game. I mean, yes, I'm building up a cult for a demonic overlord but at the very least, I can look adorable doing it. And honestly, when I'm playing a game, that's the thing I'm looking out for.

Welp I think I'm done. I'm pretty happy with how it looks. The coffee stains are pretty annoying. They made a few unwanted dark dots. Other than that I love it. I might redraw it on a new sheet of paper later. You know, one clear of stains lol.

I will soon own Scotland…and then the World
Taking over the world is hard work. Terrorists are constantly trying to do it in movies, governments are always trying to topple other governments and countries one at a time, and Pinky and the Brain have been trying to do it since 1995. Sorry lab rat, beat you to it. Unfortunately for Pinky and the Brain they are like most millennials, who are also stuck in their parent’s basements. Unlike,…

The Structure of the Infinite Realms
This is an updated version of This old prompt I did a while back.
...
So! The Infinite Realms are not just limited to the Afterlife. In fact, the Afterlife is just a single section of the Realms, and Each Realm is ruled over by their own Kingdom with their own Godly Rulers.
Lets give an Overview of a few of the Realms:
The Far Frozen: The Far Frozen is a Realm inhabited by Yeti's, who are Pacifists by nature. Their sole focus is to develop their medical practices so they can help as many people as possible. They are rules over by the Ice God, Frostbite, a kind and just King who uses his eons of experience to help those in need. The Far Frozen are well liked by all Kingdoms in the Infinite Realms, and have very few enemies.
The Medieval Isles: The Medieval Isles are a very recent addition to the Infinite Realms, and resembles the Earth Sterotype of a Fantasy Land. It is inhabited by many different races, from Elves to Dwarves to Humans. It was previously Ruled Over by a Draconic God known as the Tyrant King Aragon, before he was overthrown by his sister, the Kind Queen Dorathea with the help of a Sir Phantom. It does not have many Enemies among the Realms, but the Fae Wilds to seem to resent that some Elves live there as opposed to their original homeland.
Olympus: Olympus is the Realm of the Greek Gods, home to all the Gods who exist in the World and used to exist. It is ruled over by Zeus. It used to be a pretty major Political Powerhouse in the Realms, but after Ares went Rouge and killed most of their Top Gods, they lost a lot of Power.
Themyscira: After the Amazon's split off from the rest of Greece, they formed their own Kingdom with Hippolyta as the Godess Queen. It exists simultaneously in both the Realms and Earth. This Kingdom is well respected, but not as old or as large as some of the others. It has about the same Political Power as Olympus currently does, if not a little less.
The Nordic Lands: This is a Realm inhabited by the Norse Gods and all their peoples. It is not ruled over by a single Race of Gods, and is split into many different Warring Factions. One is the Aesir, Ruled over by King Odin. Another is the Vanir, formerly ruled over by Njord, but now ruled by his son Frey. There are also the Lands for the Fire and Ice Giants, and so on. They hold a good amount of Political Power in the Infinite Realms, but tend to stay Neutral in most cases.
New Genesis: This is the home of the New Gods, a race of Gods who is far younger than the others. They are ruled over by High Father, one of the surviving Old Gods, and the father of many of the New Gods. They are a fairly old and powerful Kingdom in the Realms, holding much Political Power.
Apokolips: This is a Realm filled with almost exclusively Demon's. It is ruled over by the God of Evil, Darkseid, and his Court of Minor Gods. It is an Extremely Agressive and even hostile Kingdom in the Realms, but holds itself back from attacking it's fellow Godly Kingdoms in fear of Retribution. They rarely interact with the other Kingdoms or discuss political matters in Meetings, but they are still a Kingdom not to be trifled with.
The Fae Wilds: This is the Realm that is the homeland of all Faeries and such creatures, like Elves and Gnomes. It is ruled over by the Fae Gods, Oberon and Titania, who use their cunning to obtain a good standing among the other Realms and maintain a good amount of Political Power.
The Spirit Lands: This is the Realm inhabited by mostly Nature Spirits, such as Nymphs and Fire Sprites. These lands are ruled over by 4 Elemental Kings, among which are Vortex and Undergrowth. These Lands are a sort of Middle Point in terms of Political Power, not too much but not too little. Although their image has been damaged by the Impulsive personalities of a few of their Rulers.
The Miracle Lands (Miraculous Ladybug): This is a Realm inhabited by a race of Gods that represent Conceptual Ideas, known as Kwami's. They are ruled over by the King and Queen of their Lands, Tikki and Plagg, the concepts of Creation and Destruction. The Miracle Lands are one of the oldest and most powerful of the Kingdoms of the Infinite Realms, and hold some of the most Political Power in the Infinite Realms.
The Ghost Zone/The After: This was what I really made this post to do. To explain my Headcanon for how the Ghost Zone worked in the grand scheme of things, the rest was just context.
The Ghost Zone is the collective Afterlife of all the other Realms, with Major Regions of the Realms dedicated to the different Kingdoms that hold a claim to the Afterlife.
There are Large Regions of the Realms dedicated to containing the Afterlives of the Godly Realms, like the Underworld for Olympus, or Valhalla/Vanaheim/Hel for the Nordic Lands. (The Norse actually have a shocking amount of Territory in the Ghost Zone, many joke that it's because Odin and Pariah Dark liked eachother due to how similar they looked.)
Each of the Regions is ruled over by that Pantheon's own God of the Dead/Death.
Hades rules the Underworld, and commands the different sections like the Fields of Asphodel, the Fields of Punishment, Elysium, and even Tartarus to some degree.
Plagg rules the Miraculous After (the Kwami's are not very creative with names). This is an Afterlife exclusive to the Holders of the Miraculous, as well as those who use Miracle Magic without having a Miraculous, like the Guardians. Also just the followers of the Kwami's (they have a small following)
The Norse have many Rulers for their many Afterlives. Hel rules over Hel, Freya rules over Vanaheim, Odin rules over Valhalla, and even Rán has her own tiny section for drowned souls. Plus a few more small sections.
The Acropolis is the Personal Afterlife for the Amazonians, and only answers to the Queendom of Themyscira. Pandora was chosen as the new Goddess of Afterlife when this was decided, and Acsended to Minor Godhood.
And there are many more, too many to list.
All the Rulers of the Afterlives defer to the Ruler of the Ghost Zone, who holds the most Power among the Gods of Death, as basically their Landlord. That used to be Pariah Dark, but after he went insane and had to be sealed away, the Ghost Zone fell mostly to Anarchy.
While the Afterlives managed to maintain stability due to having their own Rulers, the large regions between the Afterlives did not, and Rouge Spirts began to stake their claims to small plots of Land called Haunts. The most common among these were Ghosts, but there were some Fae, Spirits, and some smaller Gods (for some reason, some of the Kings of the Spirit Lands liked to use this Area as a playground to do whatever they wanted with no consequences).
It took Millennia, but eventually Pariah Dark was released from his Prison and then Usurped by a Young Godling named Phantom. Phantom then proceeded to bring the Realms under control, maintaining a few of the newer customs thay had appeared in the wake of Pariah's Imprisoning like Claiming Haunts, but otherwise ending the Era of Anarchy in the Realms.
The Ghost Zone is the Oldest, and most Powerful of the Kingdoms of the Infinite Realms. It holds Extreme Political Power, and has the favor of many different Realms. It's hard to not have that when you are an integral part of the Balance of the Godly World.

Prompt 250
So blame it on me making food-themed dragons, and failing to draw a full-body of the Ennead in the Class Pulls a Tiamat Aus. So Why not combine them- along with a hint of Ghosts are Dragons.
See, most, if not every, person in Amity Park, and even it’s surrounding areas, know better than to use the W word. It is borderline taboo to use the ‘wish’ word. But somebody got drunk, said a thing they shouldn’t have, and now there’s a bit of an issue.
Which honestly, they could have dealt with! Easily even! If not for the fact that erm, realms beings can get summoned. Meaning Desiree is well, gone. Gone long enough for the twenty-four hour mark to pass. And they can’t exactly punish a ghost for doing what’s in their nature and part of their very Core.
So.
It seems everyone is food themed now. Every ghost and liminal- though at least Amity was already weird and pretty hidden from the Outside nowadays- and even a few undead.
Honestly, Fright Knight should not look so terrifying with his new coloration and criss-cross patterns across his back. But well, he pulls it off, burnt-looking limbs and all. (Seriously, his flames look more like whip-cream now and he’s still somehow pulling it off- Dash wants to know his secret!
At least the nine of them haven’t gotten it too bad, probably. And Lunch Lady is pleased, so there’s that, but still. Jazz looks like a dragon sushi roll for Realm’s sake, and- okay that’s kind of funny. Vlad you can’t hide your new fruit-based appearance!
Hah!
Oh Realms there’ll need to be so much paperwork for th- Oh thank fuck someone is summoning them now. Alright, showtime! Time to be Heir of the Infinite, big scary nine headed dragon! Ignore the food-theme-ish guys!

shirahama-sensei reminded me she has a thing for the teacher from pokemon s/v so i randomly went off on an au where qifrey is the professor. etc
#witch hat tag#orufrey#the first image is qifrey dressed as that guy. i'm glad she has an inexplicable attachment to some dorky pokemon man like i do#someone was like 'wouldn't it make more sense for deanreldea to be the champion' .... well no. not in my world .#it maps onto magic skill. champions aren't like the Rulers of the land they're just the most skilled at this thing#oru as a burnt out champion who's gently encouraging a kid like coco to reach him one day means a lot to me. i like pokemon narratives#agott went shiny hunting for the same thing coco had but cooler - just to impress her. she really is a pokemon rival type girl#pushing myself to the limit to prove my worth to you - to get to the summit first so i'm waiting for you..#and then realising it wasn't just to be strong - i realised i started wanting to see your smile. i wanted you to have fun.#i think coco would defeat agott at the end of victory road and then defeat oru & i'll probably draw one last thing abt that at least..#the image is very cinematic..the dialogue and music in my mind..I WANT TO FACE ORU!!!!!!!!!!#the super cool insanely powerful awesome champion is the spouse of my professor and he gave me advice at the beginning...no way....#btw the elite four would be the sages which is perfect (and maybe easthies as the first guy?) evil Team Brimhats#coustas as their renegade gladion-type figure. the gym leaders would be like sun/moon and s/v combined#travelling around facing the best students from different classes - so jujy and eunie etc.#i've barely thought about 'teams' or anything bc i care amore about the narrative side of things always lol#but idk. tetia with a swirlix - eunie would be ghost type boy - riche with small things but also a ceruledge or a steelix something massiv#and brushbug would have a final form which is really long like an eastern dragon- fluffy and with wings like a fairy. It's beautiful to me#well anyway *tries to move on to the rest of life now the brief obsession has passed*#obviously oru would be fire-type tho and qifrey would be water-type and they set off together and traded their starters etc.....it goes on

So confused why fandom space things you need a twelve inch dick to please someone. Like... The vaginal canal is like 2-4 inches on average, WHERE IS THAT GOING??? I'm sorry.. I do not understand the hype over dudes with huge dicks. It's unrealistic on both ends, cause like who's dick is actually that big, and if it is where do you think that thing is going fucking David and Goliath head ass.

I’m actually curious to see if, and honestly hope, in s2 (whenever that may come out. Studios pay your writers and actors) we get some sort of callback or allusion to the rumor that Jacaerys tried to convert Cregan from the old gods to the faith of the seven.
Not because I care about the gods, outside the religious symbolism they bring. I only want to see people’s reactions. Namely the ones who act as if Alicent is the first woman to ever openly practice the faith. Because I have a feeling those same people will paint Jace possibly doing that as endearing versus Alicent who gets painted as a monster for her connection to the faith. The most we see Alicent doing a redecorating her home. Mind you, not even every room because you can clearly see the tacky tapestries in Viserys’ room in ep 8. Plus we see her praying and wearing religious iconography. Things that are not out of the ordinary… at all. She’s honestly your textbook highborn noble woman during that time. She was born and raised in Oldtown ffs. What is she supposed to follow if not the faith💀
She gets seen as this horrible zealot out to destroy the Targaryens through the faith, and to me that is just indicative on how badly people misinterpret Alicent’s feelings/motivations.
People can have their problems with the writing in hotd. I know there are certain things I have problems with myself. But when can we start being honest about how a lot of the conversations that are regurgitated and argued about day after day have less to do with the writing, and more to do with bad faith viewing. People are watching to see what they want to see, not what is actually in front of them.
Anyone with an objective view of Alicent would be able to tell how much she clings to the faith for salvation and hope. She does it to feel close to her mother, and very kindly/cautiously tries to help Rhaenyra with that too. She then reaffirms her faith after 1. She (imo justifiably) loses her shit at Driftmark and feels guilty about it, and 2. Has to marry her children to each other. Something she expresses thinking is immoral in the past. We even see her cut her hair, more than likely as a means of punishment and repentance. She’s miserable and has very few lifelines to hold onto.
How that gets twisted into her being a bigot because she doesn’t want to see dragons having orgies on her walls is beyond me.
Also the idea she is trying to bring down House Targaryen is nuts, but also laughable. Because between her and her actual Targaryen husband, Alicent is the one affirming her childrens’ Targaryen heritage. She makes sure Aemond knows he will get a dragon one day. She makes sure Aegon gets Blackfyre and his namesake’s crown. It seems like Aemond, and more than likely her other kids, know Valyrian. Ironically, the most anti targ (and frankly valid) sentiments we get are from Viserys. He speaks on the doom, fears what is to come, and how they never should have messed with dragons.
Alicent ‘let the people remember the ancient strength of House Targaryen’ Hightower is not the Baelor y’all want her to be. And if she was, it would’ve worked in her favor more. People tend to leave out the part where the most beloved Targaryens (by their people) were partly that because of their connection to the faith. Ya know the thing Targaryens also practice.
