it's bittersweet getting into some new fictional crush because the honeymoon phase makes me glow and treat myself better but it inevitably wears off and turns into self-doubting thoughts on how they'd actually hate me and i start relapsing

Okay okay okay long post but,
I need to say this cause it's nearly midnight and this idea is keeping me awake! Please tell me if you like the sound of the idea or if you think it's a bit of a stretch lol
So I started thinking about this today and cannot stop but y'know those Danny Phantom AU where Danny has a space obsession but everyone assumes it's actually a protection obsession?? I had an idea where, what if they're not assuming and Danny's pretending to have a protection obsession because he doesn't want his rouges to feel guilty about keeping him from his obsession?
Here me out! What if Danny feels like pretending to have a protection obsession is necessary to keeping his rouges happy and content while fulfilling their obsessions? He wants them to be happy because it means they'll be more satisfied and will come around less (he hopes). His rouges are more than happy to attack because they feel like they're helping Danny fulfill HIS obsession!
Eventually Danny starts to think of it like he's performing for those around him, like he's the star of the show he didn't realize he was in- He finds himself watching plays and operas and broadway shows and he enjoys them?? Which he didn't expect! Soon he becomes a bit obsessed with putting on the perfect performance for others, but obviously that has side effects on his mental health.
Maybe we can bring in some Ghost King Phantom? Like he becomes the Ghost King once he's graduated university or something and to his surprise, Frostbite tells him that he has a new Performance Obsession and of course this can give an opportunity for angsty spirals... Also if I'm being completely honest, the design and personality I have in my head for him is reminiscent of Furina from Genshin Impact, which I'm pretty sure was an accident, especially because I finished the newest quest yesterday... But whatever... I'll worry about it later.
If enough people like the idea I'll probably put a story and designs together, might even throw some dpxdc into the ring who knows, I sure don't! Anyway, my first time actually putting thought into an AU idea and I'm having a lot of fun with it. Let me know what you think!

it’s the routine soft intimacies that come with living, breathing, existing with someone for as long as they have.
it's when they hug and steve knows his arms will always find a home around eddie's waist, his face finding solace in the crook of his neck, his lungs full of eddie as he takes in a grounding breath. it's eddie's arms always slung over steve's shoulders when they embrace, pulling him in like he needs him close and they both know it's because he does, his lips pressed to the crown of steve's head as a reminder that he's there.
it's when they want to hold hands and they know each other's tells. they know that steve will bump shoulders then elbows then backs of hands before lacing their fingers together, thumb rubbing wherever it can reach in a steady rhythm. they know that eddie will trail fingertips over the veins in steve's wrist to feel his fluttering heartbeat and then dance his fingers down to clasp around steve's, pulling his arm over his chest so steve can feel him breathing.
it's when they sit in the living room to watch tv and the arm chair is steve's and the couch is eddie's until it's not because suddenly it's halfway through family feud and steve crawls between eddie's legs to lay against his chest like clockwork. it's when they have cleaning day and the kitchen is steve's because he hates how eddie loads the dishwasher and eddie dusts because he knows steve won't pick things up, just dusts around them. it's when they go to the grocery store and steve pushes the cart, checks things off the list, and eddie looks over produce to make sure they aren't too brown for steve.
it's the little things that can go unsaid because they've said them enough or lived them enough or some mixture of both where there's comfort in simplicity. steve knows when eddie wakes up and makes coffee immediately that it'll be a good day ending in dancing in the kitchen with cool tiles under their bare feet. eddie knows when steve wears that sweater with the blue on the trim that he needs a little extra support, a hand through his hair and a kiss on the cheek, a whispered forever promise in his ear.
it's learning how to love someone the way they want to be loved. it's adapting and giving to take and taking to give and intrinsically being what the other needs. it's steve and eddie, who alone are great but together are better. it's them, knowing that steve will always wrap his arms around eddie's waist and knowing that eddie will always sling his around steve's neck and knowing that when they always take in a deep breath full of the other, it's because they're home.

Thinking about your "Rachel bashing og greek myths" post, methinks she believed herself to be making greek culture a favor similarly to the author of The Phantom of Manhattan, the unofficial sequel to The Phantom of the Opera
In the preface, the author begins by saying that Phantom, unlike Frankenstein or Dracula, barely made a dent in world culture until Andrew Lloyd Webber came along to make the musical, which he considers the "true" version even tho like...it wouldn't exist without the novel! He bashes Gaston Leroux and basically states that his attempt at writing failed miserably and it's like DUDE, again, the musical and your problematic sequel wouldn't even exist without it, and just because it was bigger in France than in the usa it doesn't mean it had zero impact in culture
But of COURSE unless it's usa-approved then it doesn't count and isn't worth anything *sarcasm*
PHENOMENAL point, FANTASTIC point, absolutely true and correct
i can't be a total dick and say this is an issue solely created and implemented by rachel, because we've seen non-western cultures and religions absolutely whitewashed to hell and back - like, people have been drawing jesus of the bible as white for centuries when he was a middle eastern palestinian jewish man, and good god look what the west has done to the religions of india, china, and japan. but it's the way these kinds of stories drip with a sort of smugness in removing the original culture, in depicting it as backwards and broken.
rachel wants to claim she's making a feminist retelling, but the original myth was already feminist. ancient greece didn't pretend their society was not fiercely male dominated and patriarchal, and hades stealing persephone was absolutely in line with the traditional myths - the twist is that demeter wins. demeter punishes the male gods who stole her daughter, and the ferocity of her rage and grief forces hades and zeus to give in. if persephone hadn't eaten the pomegrante seeds, she wouldn't be in the underworld at all! this is a story that is so clearly a triumph for the mothers and daughters of ancient greece, of many worlds over, because it depicted explicitly that a mother's love was more powerful than even the gods. and rachel pisses all over that.
literally even going beyond that, looking at the society that is olympus and the underworld - all the technology they use, all the innovations they have. who exactly is making these??? where exactly is the material coming from??? you can handwave away most of the inventions by saying it's magic, but we've seen demeter talk about algebra, which was invented in the ninth century by a muslim scholar from persia. in speedrunning to this so called perfect modernized world, rachel actually erases the cultural offerings and developments of dozens of other ancient worlds, and kind of just gives the credit to the underworld, which is run by a slave driver.
persephone constantly bemoans the dullness of the mortal realm, and prefers to literally lounge around doing nothing, when the mortal realm is inventing the olympic games, the democratic forum, FOOTBALL. you have thousands of things to show the gods involved in - largely because the gods were the patrons!!! why do we never see zeus looking over the olympic games??? they happen in his sanctuary!!!
like the disdain rachel has for ancient greece is insane. she can't even bother to research the food typical of the time period, seeing as she writes persephone being looked down on for being vegetarian when vegetables were a key and staple diet of ancient greece. one could argue that a vast majority of ancient greece were vegetarian by general habit. she's baking cheesecake and french desserts and having fast food and carrot cake and maybe - maybe - she'll mention baklava. the ancient greeks are FAMOUS for their art, but we sure wouldn't know that from lore olympus. the only character who even references ancient greek music is apollo, with his lyre, and that's not exactly a ringing endorsement.
and this is not to say that an adaption has to follow the ancient text to a t - that's just not feasible and no one is expected to do so. but there's really something to how rachel does dismiss or ignore the canonical importance of so many of these stories to replace them with a western interpretation. even the therapy speak is grating. in episode 227, when persephone is talking about the concept of virginity, she's absolutely correct in pointing out how that's largely a social construct - but in light of the world she lives in and the world she helps control, the same idea could have been reached through means other than americanized psych talk.
so often, people will look back at the ancient world and think we are morally superior because we do not have the same views, or we have seemingly "developed." that is a view i abhor, because it removes the very act of learning and developing and understanding. rachel really talked big about how removing the incest of ancient greece made the story better, but incidentally, she managed to also take out the feminism, and literally the entire lgbt culture of ancient greece. apollo was even considered the patron of homosexuality! he was called to bless same-sex unions! zeus had DOZENS of male lovers; ares, hephestus, and hermes had known male relationships, and several of the ancient heroes and gods of greek mythology were described in terms we would refer to as transgender in modern times.
if rachel had gone "i'm writing a love story that's originally inspired by the myth of persephone and hades but it's very much modern and removed from the myths" that would be one thing, and i would not be bristling at that; myths have inspired countless stories over the centuries and will continue to do so for centuries to come. the problem is rachel wants to claim a rooting in these myths with zero understanding of how they work or why they work, and absolutely lets her contempt for the ancients shine through in every single aspect of her comic. it's gross and it's petty and she deserves none of the self-appointed "mythology expert" she's given herself.

this article starts by talking about how the Black Brute is a way of manufacturing consent for racial apartheid in the american south. rape, especially mass rapes or lurid claims about particularly gruesome rape, are mainstays of atrocity propaganda used to manufacture consent for indiscriminate violence, invasion, and most importantly, ongoing brutality as apart of an oppressive regime. tuskegee institute investigations on lynching say that around 25% of lynchings were said to be done as punishment for rape or attempted rape. but we have strong reason to believe that number is falsely inflated. for atrocity propaganda, there need be no victim. it is largely fueled by second and third hand accounts or outright, conscious lies.
but then, the article conflates exceptional incidents - like white people making up black perpetrators to cover up their own commission of a crime - with endemic racial propaganda used to manufacture consent for racist regimes, putting the cart before the horse. it gives three examples: charles stuart, a man who claims a black man ambushed he and his pregnant wife, shot his wife in the head and raped her, and then attacked charles (but left him alive); susan smith, a young mother who claimed a black man carjacked her and in the process kidnapped her two sons; and mabel hallam, a white woman who in 1908 claimed a black man had raped her, to cover up an extramarital affair. charles stuart had actually shot his wife for insurance money and susan smith later admitted to drowning her own sons. in all three of these cases, the accusation of black criminality resulted in consequences for individual innocent black people and the black community at large. they also negatively affected the way individual white people responded to and treated individual black people in their community. but these are deviant behaviors. focus on what are extraordinary situations do a disservice to our understanding of how racial violence, or sexual violence, operates in the overall scheme of oppression.
the article compares these cases to the use of willie horton, a man who committed violent crimes while on furlough during his life sentence (without the possibility of parole) for murder, in george h.w. bush's campaign for president. bush used willie horton in campaign ads to smear his opponent as "soft on crime," yes. but more importantly, bush (and the republican party) invoked the idea of a black predator to manufacture consent for destructive "tough on crime" policies that eroded the rights of the accused and the incarcerated, including many that resulted in the dehumanization of people behind bars for years to come and that would contribute to the crisis of deaths in county jails we experience today. that is not an individual act of deviancy, that's an example of the kind of propaganda endemic to a racial capitalist carceral state, that propaganda which informs the decision of people like stuart, smith, and hallam to do what they did. not the other way around.
that is also why atrocity propaganda, whether during wartime, under apartheid, under colonialism, or racial authoritarianism, also trafficks in extremes. see this description of such propaganda used by both sides during the first world war:
Tumblr media
while white people who do create imaginary black predators to evade punishment for a crime or wrongdoing they've committed deserve condemnation, someone who murders their pregnant wife or their young children is already going to be condemned. in 1908, even a woman who has committed infidelity will be punished for her actions. but racism - nor sexism, nor colonialism, nor apartheid, nor the war machine - is not defined by the particularly exceptional acts of a minority of people. what defines these is the mundane, what evades our attention because it is woven into the fabric of society. racial narratives, like those about women or gay people or other oppressed groups, are created from the top down. they do not have grassroots origins. for propaganda to be effective it has to prey on real, and realistic, fears. it will not abandon the realm of reality; it often is concerned with that those things that do happen. men, regardless of race, rape women. in war, civilians are often killed and children are not spared. people do rob other people, often while armed, and robberies can become violent to the point of murder. there have been a number of carjackings in which children have been in the vehicle (one just happened in houston a few weeks ago!). but propaganda distorts reality for the purpose of dehumanization of the enemy (black people, hamas, the german empire, imperial japan, saddam hussein's iraq, etc); the point is for you, the target, to endorse - implicitly or explicitly - violence you otherwise would not. many white southerners thought lynching was brutal, but necessary. the invasion of iraq was brutal, but necessary. dropping the bomb on hiroshima and nagasaki was brutal, but necessary. and so on. it is far more insidious than an individual using racist stereotypes to cover up a crime.
*i also want to say that rape accusations for the purpose of lynching should not be treated as though they are rape accusations like we understand them. it is true that women's rights have been used to manufacture consent in modern contexts, but that's not what they were doing. rape accusations were about the maintenance of "racial purity." rape, though an everyday part of life under the regime of male supremacy for white and black women alike (and all women under patriarchy) was often characterized as a uniquely savage behavior (operating under the cheney rule, of course: "we aren't savages, so if we do it, it's not rape"), especially when done to respectable women. so, white, married with children, virginal, middle or upper class, etc. the racial patriarchal regime in the american south also heavily policed white women's sexuality, as they were seen as the preservers of racial purity (this was also given as justification for the denial of white women's bodily autonomy, and still is!) (this is also not exclusive to white people). while white men were allowed so-called dalliances (often, actually, rape) with black women and to father mixed race children, white women were not allowed to even speak casually to black men outside of a rigid social script and in limited situations. surely, some lynchings involved the false claim of a specific white woman, but we have more reason to believe that the majority of claims of rape used to justify lynchings were entirely fabricated or regarded scenarios that could not reasonably be described as rape or attempted rape (including those involving consensual relationships in which both parties denied rape was taking place). some claims could also be retroactively associated with rape after particularly brutal lynchings and in the wake of anti-lynching backlash, which was happening all this time.

do you ever think about how din has had to cultivate a placidity so calm and cold it could dip into implacability with how little he's moved by practically anything to practically anyone who doesn't know him for so long that it's not just a second skin so much as it is something embedded, how it enhances his capacity to be hunter and hunted, how it's a point of practicality as much as personality; do you ever think about how din has a natural well of in-the-moment reactivity that he is never framed to need to bury beneath himself despite that placidity, how it enhances his capabilities as hunter and hunted as someone who can and is willing to adapt on the dime, how it too is a point of practicality as much as personality; do you ever think about how these built-innate things about him hone him so well for all the things that come with being a good bounty hunter but even more importantly, a good provider, and at first it's simply for his covert but then it's for his son
do you ever think about how that placidity translates into patience and how that reactivity translates into sensitivity, how from the outset of his care, he is gentle in a way he actively amends and decides to be and it's enough, and he is steadfast as he has forged himself to be and it's more than enough; do you ever think about how from the outset of his care, he treats grogu in a manner that isn't completely at odds with what we see of him in glimpses with others but is still obviously, blaringly different from his usual because he understands, instinctively, that this kid in his care is fragile — in a general "this is a baby" way, and a darker "this is a neglected/abused kid" way — and is on some subconscious-deeply-affecting-the-conscious level reacting to that
do you ever think about how this growth emerged and how it's cataclysmic growth not cataclysmic change, because it's not a case of mutually exclusive with din. do you ever think about how for all his other faults, grogu belonging with him more than he does with anyone else and din belonging with grogu more than he does with anyone else half-developed from some of these fundamental things about him, the ones that make him so good at providing, in all the hard and soft ways that entails. do you ever think about how some of the things that make din din, the things that make him so primed and perfect for duty, also make him so primed and perfect for love

love random not even logged in readers just dropping their 'constructive criticism' on your 100k+ story that you're putting online entirely for free. this is just a rant btw
"You obviously have a great talent and I think you should work on honing it some. As much as I’ve enjoyed the story, there are a few things that stand out that you might consider looking at. I feel like the story isn’t sure what it wants to be at times; is it character driven or plot driven? It doesn’t flow smoothly because sometimes we have these wonderful character vignettes, like Illumi and Kalluto on a road trip or Kite/Leorio/Gon/Killua in an apartment where plot doesn’t really feel important, followed by what feels like heavily plot driven beats, like Kalluto and the spiders. In addition, it contributes to confusion because sometimes we see established characterization turned on its head. Especially the weird way everyone all of a sudden just sort of was OK with Kalluto being a spider and then working with Illumi when they just went to all that trouble to escape him? It all kind of feels forced and not natural. You know?
Anyway, I’ll definitely keep reading and look forward to seeing what happens."
first: love you trying to sound legitimate with your "in addition" like this is some kind of writer's workshop. second: in what way would I, the writer, think that an incomplete part of my story in which the reader does not yet know most of the main motivations (they are only hinted at so far) feels forced and not natural when I know what's happening, where it is going (and where I haven't had other readers comment with confusion about that part)
and moving on. don't do this. also like i said this is a wip in and no, no one is cool with Kalluto being a spider and no they're not cool working with Illumi, really. it was already established that some of them /have/ been working with Illumi before this~ he's someone that they know. like have you never been in a seriously dangerous situation that you just have to get through before you get back to what you want?*** also at this point Chrollo's real motive hasn't been entirely revealed.
Killua keeps changing his mind about what he's doing because he's a scared kid whose self-hatred is destroying him from the inside out. the POV is so tight that I have to keep dropping reminders that what is stated in the narrative is often not true! Illumi's POV, for example, keeps showing Killua as really loving him and being happy he's around but struggling with a desire for freedom, while with Killua's POV he's terrified of Illumi most of the time. like how is that not obviously a distorted POV where you can't trust the narrator?
"where plot doesn’t really feel important, followed by what feels like heavily plot driven beats"
this part is especially irritating because it's like yeah that's how I want to write it? this isn't a published novel. I don't have to commit to making sure every scene is important to the plot. I can spend time writing a full scene about someone drinking a glass of water and then 13 chapters in a row that are for moving the plot forward. I didn't even tag it as a novel... I did tag it for unreliable narration and I keep getting annoyed that people keep ignoring that.
"I feel like the story isn’t sure what it wants to be at times; is it character driven or plot driven?"
it's both??? it's neither??? it's a fanfic??? why do I keep getting comments lately where people are expecting me to adhere to like fucking publishing standards. this keeps up and I will write a chapter which is entirely about a minor character drinking a glass of water. watch me. I'll write one about phinks drinking a glass of water and you'll like it*
"Overall, the story is good and presented a compelling alternative to CA. Look, each fan has their own opinion on CA and I know I didn’t like it. I think it was a product of what Togashi was going through as he began to experience health issues and then finding himself right back where he said he wasn’t going to be mentally after he ended his earlier manga. We can never know for sure, but it certainly had a “watch it all burn vibe” to it near the end. I honestly believe he wanted it to end with the finality of Gon’s suicide as a capstone statement, but was probably convinced to go a different route, which kinda of left a jarring feel in the narrative and culminated in a rather unsatisfying end to Gon and Killua’s journey. Despite that, I am very reluctant to read fics where the events of CA are erased or grossly modified and honestly yours is really the first long AU/alternate timeline I’ve enjoyed"
okay first of all, I love the CA arc. but I had to split a point off where Kite was going to survive. why do you have to leave this whole paragraph about how you think Togashi was or wasn't going to go with the CA on my fanfic? I didn't even write this as 'oh look at my alternative to CA bc I hated CA' I don't really look forward to hearing comments about how random people didn't like so and so aspect of the story that I'm basing my story off of. I've never written fanfic for a story that I didn't like (except for some things that I don't have published I wrote at a request for friends for a fandom they were into that I wasn't really) and yeah I've wanted to 'fix' aspects (like tolkien's treatment of women for example) but I am not looking for your 'this is what I hated about the source material' comments on my stories
tired of getting comments with little 'oh I didn't like your style at first but now I do' or 'here's how to fix your story!' unsolicited advice from people who aren't better writers than me (I don't even want it from people who would be better writers than me on stuff I'm just doing for fun and for free)
when did stuff like this become normal? at least don't be a coward and be not logged in so you can't even get a response notification. like girl they aren't cool with it! why do you think everyone is on guard standing around like they're in a fucking hostage situation? how do you see such wildly different interpretations from different character's POVs and think it's not intentional? what part about Kite watching Killua like a fucking hawk makes you think he's going to let Illumi take him after this?
like if you've never had to smile and pretend to be cool with your abuser (pretend to love them) or someone who was threatening you to keep someone else safe then good for you! it fucking sucks! also don't know how to explain to you what a child who is growing up in an extremely isolated abusive situation goes through (though I keep writing about it in this story you should catch on...) but it's a million back and forths with emotion and feelings--especially if their abuser does (to in some way or to some degree) love them. and it is often blaming themselves. I'm not letting my years of studying human psychology and child development go to waste here**
is this story perfect? no but I'm not gonna hire an editor for a fanfic. and everyone's interpretations of characters will be different. especially with child characters who are going through huge changes in the world around them and their personal lives. part of the appeal of fanfiction is 'who would they become if this happened instead?' *sorry I keep writing about starving and not having clean drinking water but I will never stop because that's what I grew up with and it's hell. also phinks drinking water would be compelling since I assume he'd have harder access to clean drinking water
**hunter x hunter is also one of the only stories I have encountered with characters who have backgrounds as fucked up as mine and Togashi's interest in human psychology really stands out.
***like good for you but that was most of my life and you sometimes just have to shut up and get through it. and no I will not put my notes in the right order bc I'm not being paid enough****
****I'm being paid nothing

Thank you for tagging @renecdote @hopeintheashes and @tripleaxeldiaz <33 …......this is..... okay so. I fully expect this to appeal to almost no one and I might not ever do more with it, buuuuut it's the only thing I've written lately so idk here's some 911 x Star Wars vibes
“There’s nothing there,” Buck whispers to the Stormtrooper commander with the last of his strength.
He’s being dragged between two soldiers, his body almost completely limp but they haven’t fastened the restraints yet and he can just about manage to twist his wrist to command their minds with the Force.
“...t-there’s nothing there,” he insists again desperately, tasting blood on his lips as he urges them to comply. “We have–” he falters, just for a moment, shuddering at the toll it takes. “We have what we came for.”
Silence seems to stretch for an age, achingly so, until finally—
“There’s nothing there!” The commander shouts over to his men as though his words were his own, stopping them in their tracks just shy of Eddie’s position; gesturing for them to come back. “We have what we came for,” he goes on to say, just as the soldiers holding Buck jostle their newfound prisoner.
A cold pit seems as if to open up inside of him when he hears his own words parroted back. They have him. He’s a prisoner, again. He’s been taken, again.
It’s getting harder and harder to ignore the fear coiled in his stomach and he fights the urge to be sick right there in their grasp. His head’s spinning, and he can feel something wet at the base of his skull that tells him he’s bleeding badly from that last blow.
The only thing that gives him any kind of solace is that at least Eddie’s safe.
Better him than me, he thinks. He always thinks. And suddenly, underneath all of that dread—all of the horror that comes with being at the mercy of the Empire once more…underneath all of that, Buck feels relieved. Relieved that in a matter of hours Eddie will wake up, and he’ll be fine. He’ll be livid of course, and Force-willing Buck might get the chance to explain himself one day… but he’ll be safe. And that’s the most important thing.
“Restrain him and get him onboard,” the commander says all of a sudden, interrupting Buck’s musings.
The disturbance in the Force comes a second too late for his addled mind to process, and he can’t even attempt to dodge the blow as the electro-jabber is ruthlessly shoved between his ribs, shocking him until he cries out.
The pain is too much for his battered body to bear and he slumps forward; a dead weight in their arms.

I always think the top 1% streamer based presale model will inevitably result in Taylor getting criticised for “faking” her streaming numbers because people will leave her on repeat to increase their odds of getting tickets. and that would be technically true of every artist across the board I guess? You would unintentionally (or not) incentivise people into streaming (and therefore getting you more royalties) more
yes exactly!! that was another aspect i didn't mention, but absolutely would be an unintended (or maybe even intentional) aspect of this. it's tough because as a fan who's tried to get tickets to three of her tours, i found the reputation tour system to be the easiest, but i had to put. in. the. work. in terms of mv watching, etc. to build up my points. and at the end of the day it was worth it and only made me kind of hate lwymmd for a year, but it feels like it would just be another incentive to gameify streaming and music listening, something i'm less inclined to want to/have the time to participate in since i'm no longer fifteen years old, y'know? but, at the same time, if we're talking about this in the realistic context of taylor being a pop star at a major (not about what things i'd change in my utopic version of the music industry), getting fans to jack up streaming numbers isn't like...remotely a loss. it also would separate the fans who were willing to do this from those that weren't, which probably correlates pretty well with who is a 'bigger' fan.

i was playing minecraft and then i died in the nether from an enderman in a warped forest and it took me like way too long to find where i died that all my stuff despawned but i recognized the area and i was like damn this is where my stuff was and now it is gone and so i jumped in lava to go back home and rebought all of my gear from villagers because i play the early game of minecraft by raiding a village and breeding them and making a whole system of good villagers but so then i was able to go back to the nether and just start getting ender pearls again but then i died again from an enderman who i looked at but then it teleported away and wrecked my shit when i figured it just gave up but luckily all of my stuff was mostly retrievable then and i was in a much easier to find place so i just regot my things and proceeded killing enderman until i had a stack of balls and then navigated back to my portal and made my way back home to put those pearls in a chest and then i went on a very long journey to find a fortress to get 9 blaze rods which went fairly well because i was being very careful the whole time and then on my way back there were a few close calls but ultimately i wanted to use a strider to get back because i had never ridden on one before and i wanted to try it out so i found one with a zombie piglin on it's back so i wouldn't need to find a saddle and i killed the zombie piglin and it only knocked me into the lava once and then i went to a forest to get wood to make a crafting table and sticks and then i got some gold to trade with a piglin which it eventually gave me string so i made a fishing pole with a mushroom on it and then i went back to the strider with the saddle and made my way back home and it went fairly smoothly because there is a lot of lava in the nether and so i made it back with my blaze rods and my pearls and now i'm all done because i need to take a shower but yay i did progress things and the next time i play minecraft i can go to the end and beat the ender dragon and get an elytra!
