Rolling dough
Ships: Attuma x Okoye (Main) Aneka xAyo, Shuri x Riri
Warnings: I don't think I have any, beside non-beta
Summary: Bakery Owner x Gym Owner AU. It's just a met cute nothing else except fluff.
A/N: That's it on housekeeping.
Chapter One: Yeast Donut
yeast is used as a leavener, which creates air pockets when frying the batter that results in their signature light and airy texture. They're less likely to be crumbly, due to their spongy consistency, and can be glazed, frosted, or filled.
Runaway Donuts is a well-known doughnut shop that stayed on Vinal Ave and Boston Street here in Cambridge, Massuchutes. Okoye owned this small shop. The little shop is the most important thing to her. See how people from all walks of life come to her humble shop just to try her homemade dough made it worth it for her to wake up so early in the morning. The little shop is like any brick and stone building in the New England state. But the inside had a cozy aesthetic with soft warm colors of yellow and pink.
Based on everything that was going on in her life, it should be going perfectly what more could Okoye ask the universe?
“Maybe a man,” Shuri quipped up as Okoye put the finishing icing on some doughnuts. Okoye forgot annoying her little cousin can be when she’s bored. Shuri’s remark earned a soft chuckle from Aneka. The woman rolled her eyes
“Or woman,” Aneka added wanting to tease her sister-in-law even more. Sometimes Okoye forgets that Aneka was one year older than her when she pulls stunts like this. How her sister finds her unique, is anyone’s guess.
Ayo shook her head, “My love play nice.”

“It’s not Okoye's fault that weak men can’t keep up with her,” Ayo joked.
“That’s it everyone out! out !” Okoye shouted out to them. Hoping that her voice would move her family to the front house of the building since Okoye was done baking for the rest of the day. The small group rolled their eyes as if she was a pesky fly that was bothering them, not the other way around.
She gets why her family was worrying about her. Okoye wasn’t ignorant to know the reason why Shuri decided to attend MIT rather than Yale like her brother did. Shuri, even though she wouldn’t admit wanted to be close to her older cousin especially when Okoye and W’bai didn’t work out. Can you call it not working out if the man of your dreams decided to be the runaway bride? The baker thought. Her family while sweet, they are overbearing and protective. She just needs time anyway from the dating scene. Plus with her bakery and her thought on creating it into a franchise, she has too much on her plate right now. If only her family would understand that.
“Whelp that’s my queue to go,” Shuri slayed as she tried to slither her way closer to the door. Okoye’s eyebrows perked up as she looked at the clock, “Why are you leaving so soon? I thought class starts at 10 today?”Okoye asked her little cousin to stay at the bakery shop until it was time for her to go to MIT.
“Well, yeah, but I have this really important thing,” Shuri spits out hoping it sounds believable to Okoye. Shuri looking at her fingernails, “Y’know how biochem can be.”
“Because she wants to make time to talk to Riri before class,” Aneka sang as she laid her head on Ayo’s shoulder.
Okoye’s eyes widen, “W-what? Who’s Riri ? and why did you sa-oh!” Shuri was flustered looking anywhere but at her older cousins. That’s what I get for blabbering to Aneka, Shuri thought.
“I’m leaving,” Shuri said as she quickly walked out of the door, “See you after classes.”
“Now if she can be like that when she’s at the store,” Okoye joked as pressed the button to brew the hot coffee.
“I don’t understand why she doesn’t see that girl already?” Ayo muttered, “I’m getting a headache with the back and forth they seem to do.”
Eventually, Ayo and Aneka left to take care of some errands, finally leaving the baker alone. Okoye took a deep breath, her family knew how to exhaust her.
“This would be the perfect time to count which donuts are selling the most,” She said out loud to herself. The owner started taking inventory, and her ears perked up when she heard the soft bells of the door.
“Welcome to Runaway Donuts,” Okoye greeted.

How would u feel about a Friends au fanfic of Chrissy, Eddie, Steve, Nancy, Robin and Jonathan? Nancy is def a Monica and Robin is a Phoebe... Chrissy is maybe a sweeter version of Rachel. Other than that, it's kind of hard to assign roles to the three other guys. Anyway, I'd read a fanfic of this idea. I can imagine the hijinks and mayhem the friends would get into. As well as the romance potential. Eddie & Chrissy seem like they'd get together the fastest... Nancy and Jonathan would def take longer imo.
I made a collage of them all. I made it as '90s as I could...
So I've been sitting on this one for a bit and I'm sorry to keep you waiting @stormwitchfaerie, but when you originally sent me this I was hacking through a doc of story ideas for the Last Chance to Run series, the universe in which my runaway bride fic the scandal of it all is set. When I was writing the OG HC, and the story, I was very much imagining Chrissy in a very similar dress to the one that Rachel wears in the pilot (I think someone even commented on it saying they were getting those vibes). It is set in the 90s also, and the more I started wandering through that potential universe the more I wanted to explore it in the style of a 90s sitcom like Friends.
Tldr your ask made me start thinking about it more seriously and I got a little absorbed in the concept. 😅
All of these characters shape up to make appearances in those stories. (And I dig the 90s aesthetic here. Also you are 100% right on the girls. I feel like any boy mapping would be divisive so I don't quite want to go there lol. )

Chronicles of the isles stories as aesthetics
Chronicles of the isles is a collection of short stories that follows a group of pirates as they collect ancient artefacts and attempt to stop the return of a cursed god.
Most stories take place in very different locations to eachother, so to get a glimpse into what the isles universe is like, here are the mood boards for each part.
Part I: Ship's graveyard
Ships graveyard follows the origin story of the Titans, a pirate crew that the isle's stories centre around. More particularly, Catherine webb, a runaway bride who quite literally runs into a pirate captain's second hand on a beach. The majority of ship's graveyard is spent trying to recover a family heirloom that has been stolen from Catherine. If you like pirates of the carribbean you would like the ship's graveyard stories.
Part II: A village called murder
In a village called murder we get an insight into Catherine webb's family. It is made up of two stories, the first going back in time to follow a young Cassandra Lawrence (Catherine's mother) as she tries to catch a small town serial killer after the murder of her father, and the second where the titan's meet Catherine's brother Curtis as they look for an ancient artefact. This is the storyline for fans of sherlock holmes.
Part III: Selenia valley
Selenia valley is for the fans of the classic fantasy story. The titans are invited to a masquerade ball hosted by one of the most highly regarded families which soon turns dark as they get blackmailed into breaking a curse and finding a pearl necklace before sunrise.
Part IV: Cirque d'etoiles
Cirque d'etoiles focuses around a mysterious circus that only appears for three months of the year and then disappears over night. Lana one night finds that her younger sister Molly is being led away from home by members of the circus and finds that the circus is locked in a magical contract where they must kidnap one child to become part of the act whenever they leave a location.
Part V: Metaloc
The titans are on the run, wanted for a crime they didn't commit. After running into a fellow runaway they find that they need to pulloff a heist at one of the most important royal balls of the year.
Part VI: the lotus forest
The titans meet with an old friend in the region of the lotus forest in hopes of gaining an audience with the queen. This leads to them entering the tournament of champions, a deadly competition where there can only be one winner.
Part VII: The dissappearing islands
The titans enlist the help of another old friend as they try to reach the mysterious dissappearing islands, legendary islands that only seem to appear once every century as they try to piece together what happened to the last group of people to set foot on the island.
Part VIII: Deep lagoon
The titans are summoned to the court of xymor, god of the ocean (among other things) in order to be judged as to weather or not they are worthy of being in possession of a powerful artefact.
Part IX: Draig cave
The titans make an unlikely alliance for a quest to venture deep into a system of caves as they discover more and more about the guild of the divine, an ancient group of warriors who used to roam the isles. Fans of merlin and dnd would like this storyline.

Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961)
1 hr 55 min | Romance, Comedy, Drama | Dir. Blake Edwards
A young New York socialite becomes interested in a young man who has moved into her apartment building, but her past threatens to get in the way.
The only good thing about this film is Audrey Hepburn's iconic LBD (and other stylish outfits, let's be honest.) I think if it weren't for Givenchy, the soundtrack, and the fact that Audrey Hepburn looks thin and amazing at all times, this film wouldn't be anywhere near as popular as it is. It's an aesthetic classic, but that's about it. The storyline is not very interesting.
Holly Golightly is not a likable character. She is self-centered and places a lot of value on material possessions. She wants to marry men only for their money. She is also too emotionally damaged to have a deep connection with anyone who isn't her brother. It makes sense why she would be emotionally damaged as she is a runaway child bride, but that doesn't mean she should get a free pass to act like a piece of shit. Also, the way she treated her pet cat (who is only known as "Cat" in the film; bitch couldn't even be bothered to give it a proper name) is unforgivable. She gets so frustrated that she kicks Cat out of the taxicab into the rain and decides to leave for Brazil. She just dumps the cat outside to fend for itself. That's abuse. It's animal abandonment. Why does no one talk about this? She's nothing more than a hot stinking turd dressed up in Givenchy. I hate her. Cat deserved better.
Paul sucks, too. He only seems to like Holly because she's more fucked up than him. He's the white knight in this film who wants to save her. And, as you can so easily predict, they end up together in the end after an argument in the car about how she's afraid, and he chucks an engraved ring in her lap. That's when Holly runs after him and has the happy reunion with him and the cat.
Holly's Japanese landlord, Mr. Yunioshi, is played by a white actor in yellowface, Mickey Rooney. Mr. Yunioshi has an incredibly thick accent, and he uses exaggerated facial expressions. He is also portrayed as a bumbling idiot (constantly tripping over stuff) and he is supposed to serve as some sort of comic relief? But the comedy is at the expense of his race. It's dehumanizing, and it wouldn't be funny even if it was just a white character played by a white actor. It's just not funny regardless. You could have cut all of his scenes out of the film and it wouldn't have mattered. His character adds nothing valuable to the story.
And as a librarian, I also don't appreciate the scene at the library. Holly is disrespectful while she is there. The library staff member is more homely looking in comparison to Holly. She is uptight and gets upset when Paul tries to sign a book he wrote. She says it is defacing public property, which it is. Holly says, "Let's get out of here. I don't think this place is half as nice as Tiffany's" and then they leave. It's like a subtle message to value luxury items/materialism/glamor over the place that represents education and bettering communities. Things that actually fucking matter. But of course Holly would say it's not as nice as Tiffany's because even though she is stylish, she is dumb as shit. She doesn't even realize what she is doing with Sally Tomato.
Anyway, I don't like this film, and it irks me that so many people love it without acknowledging the flaws. At least acknowledge the flaws because there are many.

I rewatched PoTC today and I forgot how fucking funny Calypso's explanation to Jones was as to why didn't meet up with him after ten years like my girl basically went I didn't feel like it. A'right queen and he literally never emotionally recovered from that, BUT THE POINT OF THIS is to say that yeah its explicitly stated in canon that it was ten years that Davy did the whole ferrying the souls thing but after doing much reading around ( The Wiki, lol ) and THINKING about it, I believe there is an implication that he "waited" for her to show for longer than 10 years which would make the most sense, imo.
For me its like... You pull up after 10 years for your one day together and she's not there so you're like oh this is the worst thing ever but maybe shes just doing goddess things she didn't tell me about ok this blows but we'll try again in another 10 and it just... Went on like that for a while.
Cos the whole situation has always left me with so many questions like A) Calypso couldn't you have just, idk, rescheduled or something and B) Ten years was a long time for a mortal but Davy hasn't been a mortal since he struck that "deal" so technically ten years is feeling SMALL in the grand scheme of things and it leaves me to wonder other stuff like A) Why didn't he look for her at sea and B) why couldn't an all powerful sea goddess just go to the sea and find him, y'know like neither of y'all are bound to mortal chains anymore, excluding Davy not being able to go on land for ten year periods...
Like it makes a little more sense if Calypso was bound to land but that shouldn't have been the case given she didn't get trapped in a mortal form utill well after the whole ghosting Davy thing which was actually the direct result of the ghosting, so. ( Which is another part of where my head is here, there was so much deep hurt / heartbreak festering there that I feel like that had more than a single failed ten year rendezvous to build up )
SO TO MAKE A LITTLE MORE SENSE OF THAT I'm gonna say that while the initial ten years was like a huge factor in the "betrayal" it wasn't just the first ten year period. Given Calypso's a goddess and Jones, at that point , was also some functioning type of immortal It was multiple ten year periods after that. For A LONG TIME Jones would go to wherever it was he and Calypso were meant to meet again and every time she wasn't there. I'm gonna say the time was closer to 30-40ish years this went on.
Which would have been the entire remainder of Davy's mortal life-span and I THINK kind of further echoes tragic romance tropes along the lines of someone who loses a loved one at sea and spends their life waiting for them to return / visiting a place they last saw them ashore and also things like runaway bride / abandoned at the alter, etc which has always felt very true to the aesthetic here bonus the supernatural twist

"I know it's our anniversary, and I know that I've already given you your gift," you motioned to the custom Les Paul on the couch before taking Ace's hand and walking to the patio. "I have one more thing to give you."
"I only got you one thing, you tryin' to upstage me?" He laughed.
You chuckled. "No."
Ace smiled as the two of you now stood under the stars. "You shouldn't have even gotten me the guitar, it must've cost an arm and a leg."
"Nope, just a kidney." You laughed as you picked up a small box from the table. "Here."
He took the box and opened it. Inside was a necklace with a lightning bolt pendant. "Don't I already have one of these?"
"Yeah, that is that one. I put it in there just to get you out here." You laughed. "But there seriously is one more thing. It's not another gag gift." You took the box from his hands and set it on the ground as he sat in one of the chairs.
You took a deep breath and looked at him before getting down on one knee.
"Okay… no…" Ace smirked before covering his eyes.
"Don't hide your face," you smiled, reaching out and pulling his hand down. "This is a once in a lifetime thing and you're not going to want to miss it, so pay attention."
He looked at you and shook his head, his amused smirk still on his face.
You took another deep breath and looked into his brown eyes, a small smile on your face. "I love you, Paul Daniel Frehley."
Ace chuckled lightly.
"Will you marry me?" you asked.
He blinked slowly before looking up at the stars. "I... I've got to think about this a little bit." he looked back down at you as you stood up.
"Okay, I was hoping you'd say that." You turned and dragged the other chair in front of him.
Ace laughed his laugh, and shook his head. "You were not!"
You nodded your head as you sat in the chair. "I was."
"Not true!" Ace shook his head and laughed again.
"I was, because if you said 'yes' then I wouldn't get to say this next part." you cleared your throat. "Ready?"
He smiled in amusement. "I'm listening."
You looked at him and smiled. "I guarantee there'll be tough times. I guarantee that at some point, one or both of us is going to want to get out. But I also guarantee…" you paused slightly as you felt your throat begin to tighten and tears formed in your eyes. "...that if I don't ask you to be mine, I'll regret it for the rest of my life."
Ace leaned forward and took your hands in his.
"Because I know in my heart... you're the only one for me." you finished as a tear rolled down your cheek.
He looked down at your hands before standing up from his chair, he motioned for you to stay seated as he walked back into the house. You watched from the patio as he walked to his guitar case and opened it. He took something out and walked back to you.
He sat back down and laughed lightly. "You beat me to the punch." he held up a ring. "I was going to ask you earlier, but I forgot where I put the ring."
You looked from him to the ring, tears streaming down your face.
"It wasn't until you gave me the guitar that I remembered where the ring was. I would've grabbed it but you were adamant about coming out here." he chuckled. "And I see why." He took your left hand and put the ring on your finger before lifting your hand to his lips and kissing it. "I don't think I would've said anything as poetic as that."
You laughed and squeezed his hand before pressing your lips to his.
"But if the guys ask, can we tell them I proposed? They'll probably think I wussed out or somethin'.."
"Sure," You chuckled before kissing him once more.
