#running through the fences and bushes

I really enjoy this blog so much. Gimme your most favorite batshit auspolitics moment from the 2000s to 2010s. please. i am morbidly curious.
2007: The APEC conference, where all global leaders converge in one city to pretend like they're doing things, is to be held in Sydney, Australia. With the war on terror in full swing, security is at a maximum, and large swathes of the city are placed behind a giant multi-layered steel fence to keep the world leaders far away from the unwashed masses.
Tumblr media
Attempting to ward off trouble, organisers of the conference hold a meeting with notorious political comedy prank group "The Chaser", to tell them they are, under absolutely no circumstances getting anywhere near any world leaders, and to not even bother trying.
"The whole perimeter is secure," security forces told them sternly. "The only thing getting through that fence is a motorcade."
24 hours later The Chaser were on their way towards the fence with a motorcade.
Tumblr media
Now a few things should have tipped off security guards that this fake Canadian motorcade was not a the real deal. Number one: Canada wasn't at the conference, number two: no country has actually had security running alongside cars since the 60s, and three: most security guards don't carry video cameras with them or passes that read "this is fake".
Nevertheless the ruse was more successful than anyone had anticipated, and The Chaser team were happily waved into the most secure area on planet earth by police, who informed the incognito comedians that "the road is yours."
Reaching the outside of George Bush's hotel, the pranksters now began to worry that they were never going to be stopped by police and decided to get out of the car and walk back to the fence.
While dressed as Osama Bin Laden.
Tumblr media
At this point all hell broke loose. Snipers were locked on. Confused police scrambled, and immediately arrested the whole group, only breathing a sigh of relief when they saw the words "Chaser" on the fake security passes.
Bizarrely the police opted to give a full escort to the guy dressed in a suit, and allowed the other man cosplaying as the world's most wanted terrorist to just casually walk out on his own before booking him at the perimeter.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Chaser team said that while being put in a cell overnight wasn't fun, they were less stressed after police started visiting to ask for photos and signatures.
The prank group were later hauled before the courts and threatened with a massive fine, but the case was eventually dropped after they successfully argued that it's not technically breaking-in if the cops happily wave you into a high security zone.
Needless to say they have changed that law for future APECs.
Making light of the situation, the prank group also returned to the site a few days later dressed as carboard cars, to see just how flimsy a disguise could get past police.
Tumblr media
This time at least, they were not let in.

Prompt 18 with Angus Tully it’s giving best friend’s creepy brother or something lol
i knew it was only a matter of time before i wrote something a little darker with angus >:)
18: "it's not what it looks like!" "is that a picture of me?!"
warnings: dubcon (technically) sexual content 18+ ONLY!!!, male masturbation, perv!angus, degradation kink (but not what you're thinking hehe), sliiiiiightly dom!reader??
Tumblr media
"Oh shit," you realized as you padded your pockets, "I forgot my lighter at home. Can I borrow yours?"
"Sure," Amelia offered, "but I think my brother had it last."
You sighed, not really wanting to deal with him-- he was always... looming, which you didn't appreciate-- but figured it would be quick enough to run upstairs and snatch it out of his room. "I'll go get it," you decided, "you go ahead and I'll catch up with you."
"Okay, see you there!" she agreed, slipping out the front door as you bounded up the stairs and hung your purse over the top banister quickly.
Honestly, you didn't even think about knocking before you barged in. You figured he was reading, if he was even in there-- you hadn't seen him since you first got here and he disappeared. But, it turns out he was pretty busy...
You caught him with his cock in his hand, hunched over a polaroid in his bed; he looked up at you with wide eyes as you burst in, falling back into the sheets, trying desperately to cover himself as he gasped and coughed. "Wh-what the fuck?!" he blurted out.
Before you could decide if you should laugh, or apologize, or just run away, your gaze fell down to the polaroid-- his dramatic physical reaction and pulling the sheet up quickly over himself had launched it right in front of your feet. Your eyes wide when you saw it, and you quickly snatched it off the ground as he jumped up; he looked like he might get up to take it from you, until he seemed to remember that would leave him exposed and so he sank back into the bed helplessly.
"It's not what it looks like!" he tried hastily to explain as you looked at the image in your hand.
"Is this a picture of me?!" you realized-- it wasn't a question, you knew. It was obviously you... even if it was taken from behind. You'd recognize your own swimsuit anywhere.
"Fuck, I-- um--" he stammered, "that's-- I-I just found that--"
"You took this!" you accused. "This was at Amelia's pool party!"
"I-- um--" he choked.
"Oh my god, you're such a creep!" you spat. "You took this picture and you get off to it?! I didn't even know you took this-- I didn't know you-- you're a fucking pervert!"
"Don't talk like that," he whined-- at first you assumed it was because his feelings were hurt, but you could see his face getting redder, and your stomach twisted as you realized...
"Jesus," you groaned, "is this turning you on?"
"U-uh," he grumbled, but even that sounded a bit like a low moan, and you smirked a little as you stepped further into the room.
"You're actually disgusting," you informed him, though the tone of your voice changed a bit. "I knew you were weird, but this? Taking stalker pictures from the bushes... that's where you were, right? Or maybe behind the fence? Were you jerking off then, too?"
"N-no," he denied nervously, watching you come closer, "I... I waited until I got back to my room, at least..."
"And what did you think about?" you wondered with a smirk. "You thought about getting your jizz all over my bikini, right? That's so gross."
"Fuck," he hissed through his teeth-- you thought he looked pretty cute like this: turned on, but a little terrified.
"And just now, looking at your little picture," you cooed, crossing your arms, "were you gonna come all over it? Or try to save it so you can use it whenever you want?"
"Stop," he pleaded, "I-- I might-- I was so close--"
"You wanted to get caught," you decided, seeing his eyes get even wider as you looked down at him tangled up in those sheets (which didn't do a whole lot to hide his throbbing erection, by the way). "You wanted me to come in here and see you, you wanted me to know what a sick little freak you are--"
"God, I'm--" he warned with a whine, but you kept going.
"You wanted me to tell you how dirty and bad you are," you scolded with a purr, "'cause you're a pathetic, desperate perv!"
"Fuck!" he whimpered, shuddering under the thin sheet, and you watched with sick delight as a wet patch began to form on the fabric, growing with each sudden flex of his hips.
"Wow," you grinned, "you came just from that--"
"I-I was really close already!" he defended, as if that were enough of an excuse: as if being nearly finished jerking off to a picture of you was something to be proud of.
"I'll keep this," you decided as you slipped the polaroid in your back pocket, seeing him open his mouth in protest only to shut it. "You're just gonna have to stick to your imagination next time, Angus... I'm sure it's plenty creative."
You turned and were nearly out the door when he spoke up: "W-wait!"
You looked over your shoulder back at him, noticing the way his eyes drifted over you.
"You could... stay longer," he offered-- like you were leaving because you thought he wanted you out. You laughed and rolled your eyes.
"I told your sister I'd meet her at the record store," you explained. "You think I wanna sit around with you and, what, blow you or something?"
His throat caught and he looked beautifully flustered. "W-well, I dunno, I just--"
"Whatever, loser," you scoffed, about to leave again.
"Y-you should give me something," he decided, surprising you with his confidence, "since you're taking my picture."
"This is a picture of me," you reminded him, "I should have it."
"But still--"
You interrupted him with an annoyed groan, and he shut up quick when you started to unbutton your shirt. "Okay," you relented, "I'll give you five seconds. Is that enough?"
He didn't answer, just watched your hands intently, his tongue darting out to wet his lips.
You opened your shirt enough to expose your bra, and quickly pulled it down to give him a good look at your tits. He sighed, hand wrapping around his cock under the sheets again, and you frowned as you realized he was going to get himself off again so soon after coming. Was he really that insatiable?
You counted to five in your head before pulling your bra back up and starting to re-button your shirt. "Was that long enough for you to remember?" you asked, annoyed.
"Yeah," he breathed, "don't think I could forget if I tried."
"Great," you announced sarcastically before you finally left, grabbing your purse again and quickly getting downstairs and out the door again.
It didn't take you all that long to catch up with Amelia, even though you were already breathless before you started jogging. She was only a few blocks down, and she smiled when she saw you.
"Did you get the lighter?" she asked as you walked side-by-side with her.
"No, he lost it," you shrugged, making her groan in frustration.
"Oh my god, why does my brother have to be such a dweeb?" she wondered.
"I don't know," you laughed, "I think he's kind of entertaining."

The Costal Valley Territories
Tumblr media
I made a map of the Whisper-verse clan's territories!
These clans live alongside the sea in a small valley split by a river!
Note: this map is more representative than entirely accurate, I just tried to show the basic idea of what the territories look like.
Descriptions of the Clan Territories below!
Moon Island:
Moon Island is both the gathering place for the clans on the full moon, and the place where the majority of the clans (excluding Whisperingclan) go to speak to Starclan. In the middle of the island where the trees form a circle around a large stone, the leaders will perch for meetings. This is also where cats wishing to speak to Starclan sit- under the light of the moon and stars.
...
Whisperingclan:
Age/origin: Youngest clan; formed after the founders were banished from Roaringclan for a coup against the new leader.
Territory: the tallest mountains, rocky, though with some trees, grass and bushes interspersed with the stone. There are a few small creeks and pools running through the mountains due to rain and snow run off, there are also several caves within the mountain. The winter is the worst here with the high altitude and high snowfall.
Camp: the Whispering Cave, a large cave filed with mystical glowing crystals which seem to whisper with the words of the Starclan ancestors. There are several pools above the cave, from which small streams of water fall through cracks in the stone into the cave.
Borders: the River marks the border with Roaringclan and SIngingclan; the border with Growlingclan is only marked with scent markers, though the change in territories can also be seen in the mountain peaks becoming lower and sharper in Growling territory.
...
Roaringclan:
Age/Origin: One of the oldest clans, formed at the same time as Singingclan and Echoingclan; territory was once larger, but was taken over by humans.
Territory: grassy, hilly, plains. Notable features are small patches of trees and bushes, a lake, a muddy/ soil patch by the river, and many little burrows to be found amongst the hills.
Camp: the Abandoned Burrows, a circle of empty fox burrows surrounded by trees and bushes.
Borders: the River marks the border with Whisperingclan; the creek marks the borders of Singingclan and Weepingclan; and on all other sides a human fence marks where their territory ends and the Human Farms begin.
...
Weepingclan:
Age/Origin: Second youngest, though still far older than Whisperingclan; formed from Singingclan separating into two clans, not from any all out fighting, but the realization that there were two obvious separate groups (in skill and personality) in the clan that could survive better in the separate territories.
Territory: marsh lands and dark forests made up of willows and oaks. The forests have soft thick wet peat, though there are some rocky places. Tall grasses and reeds grow around the marsh giving good cover.
Camp: The Weeping Grotto, a large cave opening within a rocky area of the forest of which is surrounded by the largest and oldest weeping willows of the territory.
Borders: the border with Roaringclan is marked by the creek; the border with Singingclan is marked by scent markers, though the change in territories can also be seen in the change in types of trees; the small piece of border with Echoingclan is separated by the river at it's widest, though both clans lay claim to half of the row of stepping stones which could connect the territories; the border which is not shared with any clan stops where human trails (hiking trails) begin, farther from there are human dens and farms.
...
Singingclan:
Age/Origin: One of the oldest clans, formed at the same time as Roaringclan and Echoingclan; originally encompassed Weepingclan as well, but they amicably separated into two clans for better survival.
Territory: forests made of oak and birch along with meadows filled with wildflowers and grasses. Through the center of the territory runs the River and a small creek shoots off through the territory as well. the river is banked by reeds and other water plants.
Camp: the River Hollow, a space surrounded by trees in the center of the island in the middle of the River within their territory.
Borders: the border with Roaringclan is marked by the creek; the border with Whispering and Growlingclan is marked by the River; the border with Weepingclan is marked by scent markers, though the change in territories can also be seen in the change of types of trees; and the border with Echoingclan is marked with scent markers, though it is easy to tell where it is, it is where the sand begins.
...
Echoingclan:
Age/Origin: One of the oldest clans, formed at the same time as Roaringclan and Singingclan; originally encompassed Growlingclan as well, though unlike Weeping and Singing, the separation was born from civil war, the losing side being Growlingclan.
Territory: a beach, almost entirely sand with only costal plants growing in the territory. There is a cliff line which is made up of rock, at the higher end of which the beach is mostly rock with tide pools, weathered stone arches, and the opening to a system of sea caves. This territory seems small, but the sea caves stretch out underneath for large expanses, and even under Growlingclan's territory, Echoingclan lays claim to all of the cave system even under other clan's terriotories.
Camp: the Sea Caves, mostly the large cavern formed at the front opening of the Sea Caves but some cats may even make their own dens in smaller off shoots of the caves as well.
Borders: most of their borders are at the sea's edge, though their borders with the other clans are marked with scent markers; it is easy to tell where territories end however. the border with Singingclan is where Singing's grass begins, and the border with Growlingclan is where the mountain's stone begins.
...
Growlingclan:
Age/Origin: Third youngest, though still far older than Whisperingclan; formed from Echoingclan separating into two clans, two factions in the clan had formed and went into a civil war, Echoing won and banished the losing side to the far less hospitable side of the territory.
Territory: Truly one of the harshest territories, the lower levels of the mountains, rocky sharp lands that end with cliffs along the sea shore that are too high to dare try to reach the sea. There are small groups of shrubs and small trees, but little else in the form of plant life. there are some small pools which are cherished as they are the only certain sources of water.
Camp: the Broken Crag, a cliff face which is broken in places revealing small caves where cats can make dens.
Borders: the border with Whisperingclan is marked with scent markers though the change in territories can also be seen through the mountain peaks becoming higher in Whispering territory; the small border with Singingclan is marked with the river; the border with Echoingclan is marked with scent markers though it is easy to tell where the border is, it is where the sand begins.

It's No Secret... Anymore
Thank you to @mx-jinxous for the prompt! This took a really long time to write but it was so much fun playing with everyone's dynamics. I hope you guys like it and please leave your thoughts in the comments!
~*~*~*~
Steve felt like he was dreaming. It felt like he was looking through someone else’s eyes, dissociating far from his own body. He couldn’t feel the weight of Eddie’s slowly-fading body in his arms or the burning of the wounds in his sides. He wasn’t aware of where he was or if anyone was following him. He was purely relying on muscle memory and muscle memory alone.
He didn’t see the speeding car in front of him that swerved into a nearby bush and fence post. He hardly noticed the hands pulling him backward and out of the road. He came back to himself though once he heard his brother’s voice.
“Steve? Steve-O? Come on buddy, you’re worrying me here. Where have you been? I haven't seen your ass all week. Come on man, are you… are you fucking bleeding? Brother, answer me. We can’t be out here, there’s an earthquake going on. Come with me.”
Steve blinked just to come face to face with Phil. He was shining his flashlight on Eddie’s face against Steve’s shoulder but his eyes were focused directly on Steve’s.
“You with me, bro?” His mustache twitched unhappily and Steve rushed to answer.
“Um, no. Not really. I think he’s dying and I kinda might be too. And I think my friends are missing? Where am I?” Steve couldn’t get his thoughts together cohesively. His mind was fractured, overcome with too much trauma in too little time.
Phil just looked more concerned at his words with his face becoming vaguely panicked once he looked at Eddie. He looked quickly up at Steve, down at Eddie, then back at Steve. “Is this Eddie Munson? The murderer Eddie Munson? The Eddie Munson that has been on the run all week? Good golly Steve, I’m trying not to curse but what the fuck?”
Steve just looked at the pinched expression of pain that Eddie held and murmured, “he’s my friend.”
“Oh my god, Steve. Fine, we’ll deal with this later. Think you can walk to my squad car? I kinda damaged the front end but I’m sure it's semi-driveable. Powell’s tied up with the gates to hell opening up, I have plenty of time to take care of you.”
“Yeah, I can- I can walk,” and he could with the support of Phil. He felt his brother supporting both his and Eddie’s weight until they were deposited into the backseat of the patrol unit.
“And uh, is the girl hiding in the bushes with you? She’s kinda been watching us for awhile. You might have a stalker, little bro.” He shined his flashlight over to the bush and saw a sandy bob duck behind the foliage.
“Robin?” Steve muttered, still out of it and only on the verge of consciousness.
“Buckley, is that you? Come on, you’re coming with us back to Steve’s place. Let’s go,” Phil waved the light between the two. He had both hands on his hips and stood like a disappointed middle-aged dad. “I don’t have time to be doing things willy-nilly. Let’s go!”
Robin poked her head out of the bushes and scooted gracelessly over to the car until she was able to bump elbows with Steve. They both relaxed a smidgen within the same space, the two brain cells reuniting after a stressful ten minutes apart.
Phil hopped in the driver’s seat and bumped his head against the steering wheel. What had this idiot gotten himself into now?
~*~*~*~
By the time Phil arrived at his house at the edge of the suburbs, all three kids were out cold in his backseat. He stood at the open back door for a moment before sighing and lugging first Robin, then Eddie, then Steve into his living room, huffing with exertion all the while. He would definitely have to cut back on the station donuts and start exercising again. Right after he dealt with the dying fugitive on his brother’s couch, the blood seeping through Steve’s shirt, and his brother’s unconscious best friend that was snoring atrociously.
Jesus Christ.
Well, he had plenty of practice with medical care from his EMT training so he got to work. He got the first aid kit out of the squad car and started with the murderous Munson. Phil didn’t know what had happened to these kids but it couldn’t be any good. Munson’s entire torso was torn apart like he’d been gnawed on by a wild animal. It wasn’t bleeding too bad but he was missing chunks of skin, so much so that Phil couldn’t sew him up with just sutures. Hell, this kid was going to need skin grafts. A lot of them.
He put gauze on the worst of the wounds then cautiously stepped over to Steve. What he’d seen on Munson made him hesitant to look at the damage but surely it couldn’t be worse than that. Right? As soon as he lifted Steve’s shirt, he came immediately to two conclusions.
1. Steve had a lot more chest hair than he did and that was totally unfair.
2. The wounds on Steve’s abdomen were deep, infected, and horrific.
Just like with Munson, there was nothing to close. All he saw were missing chunks of skin and muscle that should have been in his sides. The marred remains were covered in grime and yellowish puss that made the entire room smell of infection.
Fuck, he couldn’t help them here. He had to get them, all three of them because he wasn’t touching an unconscious girl for anything, to a hospital. But that begged the question; which hospital? Munson… Eddie was wanted all through the state of Indiana for at least three murders and an assault. If he took him to any nearby hospital, he would be arrested and surely there was more to the story if Steve was protecting him so much. He couldn’t let one of Steve’s only friends get arrested without hearing the story from the both of them.
He had to take these three up to a hospital in Illinois. Chicago was roughly four hours away, he knew from his and Steve’s annual visits to their great aunt in Evanston. It was a risk, both for aiding and abetting a wanted fugitive as well as hoping he survived that long of a drive, but his gut told him to trust his brother on this one. So that’s what he did. He loaded the three teens back into his patrol car and mumbled swears under his breath when he passed the “Leaving Hawkins” sign. He hoped to all that was mighty that he was making a good call.
~*~*~*~
Steve woke up to familiar voices; one hushed and one screeching.
“You kidnapped them?! You’re a cop, I thought you would help them but instead you drove them all the way to goddamn Chicago like some middle-aged pervert loser?” Steve came around to a loud argument between what sounded like Dustin and Phil. It was weird though because he’d never introduced the two.
“Hey, listen here shithead, words hurt. I am not middle-aged, I’m 28. And why would I kidnap my own brother? I can legally take him anywhere, it's practically my birthright. I don’t have to go through all the work of kidnapping him.” Phil shook his head at Dustin.
“Stop trying to trick me, I know Eddie is an only child!”
“Munson?! I’m Steve’s big brother, you little gremlin. Can’t you see the resemblance?” He gestured between where Steve was groggily looking up at him and then back at himself.
“No, but I can’t see anything past your outrageous mustache.” Steve saw Phil’s jaw drop and knew that Dustin had crossed a line.
“You short fucker, that is too far! I take a lot of pride in this ‘outrageous mustache’,” Phil put air quotes around the offending remake before pointing an aggressive finger in Dustin’s direction. “I will absolutely take you off the visitation list, toothless. Do not test me.”
“Don’t threaten me, I’ll report you to the authorities!” Dustin countered.
“I am the authorities!” Phil dropped all decorum and screamed at practically the top of his lungs.
Sensing enough was enough, Steve tried to push himself up to a sitting position before a burning in his sides caused him to fall back down. Both men (or one man and Dustin) stopped their squabbling and rushed to his sides.
“Steve, you’re hurt so don’t try to get up. Shit kid, let me get a nurse or something. You weren’t doing too hot.” With that Phil sprinted out of the room, presumably to the nurse’s station and Steve was left with Dustin, Nancy, Jonathan, and Robin.
He looked blearily at all of them before asking the most important question, “where’s Eddie?”
They all parted to reveal Eddie lying in the bed next to him. His neck and chest were covered with bandages but his face looked peaceful. There were no cuffs on his wrists as Steve assumed there would be. He laid back again and let out a sigh. Everything was as it should be, he could finally relax.
“Um so Steve, don’t be mad but your brother can be really persuasive when he wants to be and you never introduced him as your brother so I just kind of assumed that we were getting captured by the police and that it was going to be so much worse than the Russians because I always thought Officer Callahan was kind of psycho. But then I woke up here and he bought me Cheetos so everything is fine. Except it's kind of not because you and Eddie have been out for a couple of days and I told Big Not-Harrington about the Upside Down and now he’s really worried. Why did you have to stay asleep so long, dingus? I missed you!”
Steve honestly zoned out when he heard “Cheetos” and only tuned back in when Robin, the usual physical affection-hater, threw herself on top of him in a hug. He withheld the grunt of pain and held her back just as hard.
“What the hell just happened, bro? Like that was a lot of words, little bird lady. Woah.”
Steve didn’t know if he was hallucinating the long-haired surfer in a Hawaiian outfit or if Vecna had somehow managed to melt his mind after all but he had never been more confused in his life to see the new visitor make themselves known.
“Who the fuck is that?” He muttered in absolute bafflement.
Dustin sighed as he too wrestled a hug from Steve, “that’s Argyle. Come on, Steve. Keep up.”
“Like the sock pattern? How many drugs am I on right now?!”
~*~*~*~
“... and that’s kind of why I didn’t tell you about the Upside Down,” Steve finished from his seat beside Eddie, their hands tangled together as they both sat across from Phil.
He looked at both of them with a completely deadpan stare. “Again, but the truth this time.”
Eddie huffed in annoyance. “We are telling you the truth, man! An evil wizard guy named Vecna-”
“Slash Henry, slash One,” Steve and Robin interjected in unison.
“-possessed four teenagers to end the world or something and broke their bodies apart with his mind. Then the angry mob thought it was me but I would never kill anyone, especially not Chrissy. She was always really nice to me and remembered my band from the talent show in middle school. And then we got stuck in Hell where evil demon bats ate our flesh and tentacles ripped through the earth. Then we saved Nancy from the evil mind melt powers by playing her favorite song. After that, we made a plan and she shot Vecna and killed him while Dustin and I were decoys where I was attacked.”
“Then I went back for Eddie and carried him out where you almost ran us over. The end,” Steve emphasized the finale with a deliberate nod of his still-aching head.
Phil looked at them with the most exasperation Steve had ever seen in his life. He let out a pitying chuckle, his poor brother didn’t sign up for this. “Have I ever told you how much I love you?”
Phil's eyes rolled so hard that Steve could tell he saw stars. He could almost see the scream being prepared in his throat and couldn't gather enough strength to escape it.
"STEVEN MICHAEL HARRINGTON, WHAT THE MOTHERLOVING FUCK?!"
"Look Philly, I'll say it one more time then I'm done, okay? It first started way back when Will Byers went missing in 1983..."

Trespassing
Mafia Bucky Barnes x Reader
Whilst getting lost, you accidentally trespass into a mafia’s mansion and find yourself being punished by the leader himself
Warnings: Dominance, Submission, Smut, BDSM, Spanking Fingering, Bondage, NSFW
Tumblr media
The sun was blazing and there was a cool wind in the air. The daisies were now fully bloomed, and it was a perfect summer day. The grass was a healthy shade of green, neatly cut, and soft to the touch. You had decided to take a long walk to a quiet area, away from the busy roads and noise of New York City. You couldn’t think with all the noise and your exams were starting soon. If you were going to get into Law school, you needed to do all the revision you could and not waste a single moment which prompted you to take a long hike to a quiet patch of grass and sit in the sun and study.
Time flew by as you happily made notes from your textbook, highlighting words in fun pastel colours and outline with gel pens. You were pleased with the aesthetic of your notes, and it made the thought of revising a little more fun. It had been at least five hours since you arrived at the quiet spot and your stomach was starting to rumble from hunger, so you decided to head back. Hitching up your bag, you started your way back home.
However, getting back home wasn’t as easy as you thought.  you could have sworn you were going the right way but as you took every step, the road never ending and no sight of civilisation or traffic, you were starting to doubt yourself. You could turn back and walk the other way but what if you were going the right way in the first place. So much for wandering far from home.
“Shit” you whispered to yourself, standing in the middle of nowhere, no clue what to do. The logical thing to do would be to get a map up on your phone but of course there was no signal. You held your phone high in the sky, searching for one little bar and some hope that you would be able to find your way home. But it wasn’t looking like your lucky day. The sun was getting hotter by the minute, and you had run out of water. Taking a hunch, you carried on the way you were going, praying that when you passed this corner, you’d see a car or two and be on your way back home.
But nothing, just endless road, and grass. Your feet were starting to ache, and sweat was dripping down your face. Until something caught your eye, and you stopped mid step. A gate. It was huge and placed between two long lines of bushes. You dragged yourself over and relief hit you as you saw the huge mansion behind the black gates. You must have been going the wrong way because you didn’t notice this house on the way here. But at least there would be someone here to help you get home or make a phone call for a taxi. The only thing was how to get to the front door.
The gates were thick and tall, with sharp spikes at the top. To the side was a small control panel with numbers and it was clear you needed a code to get in. You weren’t sure if you should fiddle with the buttons but upon tapping a few and a loud buzz, it proved that this wasn’t going to be the way to get in. Standing back, you sighed as you realised what you might have to succumb to. The bushes were large and the bristles thick, but it looked like you might be able to squeeze past. It was the only way. Normally you weren’t so for breaking and entering, in fact the idea would never even come across your mind. You were a good girl, never breaking the law and ordinarily you would stand here and wait. But time was of the essence, and you didn’t have long before you would pass out from the heat or realise no one was home.
Slipping through the side of the bush where it met the gate, you pushed yourself through, the branches scratching your arms and snagging on your dress. You realised there was a thick wooden fence running through the middle of the bushes which you had to jump over. hitching one foot up on the top of the fence, you gave yourself a push and a boost to jump over but resulted in falling, cutting your leg, and falling to the ground. But you were over.
“Ahhh” you hissed as your hands landed in the ground, scratched, and burned, your dress with grass stains and mud. But you were over. Pushing yourself off the ground, you made head way on to the front of the mansion. The place was massive. There was a long driveway leading up to the front with a huge garage holding at least five cars. The mansion was white with sleek doors and windows and stone. There was a fountain in the middle, water trickling down into a huge bowl made of ceramic. The grass was perfectly cut and there were no weeds. This place must have cost a bomb.
“Hey!”.
You were halfway there when a sharp voice made you jump, turning with wide eyes. A tall man dressed in a blue suit, dark brown hair and a beard came storming over. A cigarette was between his fingers, and he flicked it to the ground. He was walking so fast you didn’t have time to react as he tackled you to the ground, falling on top. You gasped from the shock of his huge body pinning you down, long legs straddling you, your arms only free to move. He was heavy and the strong scent of cologne and cigarettes hit your nose.
“What the fuck do you think you’re doing?” he questioned, glaring down at you and you stammered for a response.
“I-I…” you could barely speak from fear but that wasn’t scared you. A sharp snatch of his handgun from his pocket made you freeze, holding your hands in defence as he pointed it at you. Your stomach was shaking with fear and hands shivering with shock.
“You’ve got five seconds to tell me why your trespassing” he ordered, and you gulped, shaking your head, lips quivering.
“I-I wasn’t… I got lost an- “the man narrowed his eyes at you, pointing the gun closer.
“Don’t bullshit me girl… are you a cop?” he shoved his gun closer, and you tensed, shaking your head no.
“No, no, no I’m not a cop, I promise, I just got lost and need help home” you begged but it didn’t look like he was convinced.
“Oh really, you know the boss really doesn’t like trespassers” the man gave an evil smile, his gun just inches from your face.
“The Boss?” you squeaked. Whoever this man was and whoever the man ‘the boss’ was, they weren’t to be messed with. How could it be you stumbled upon a residency where they weren’t fond of trespassers and okay, maybe it looked like you were, but you meant no harm.
“Alright that’s it, you’re coming with me” he yanked the front of your dress, pulling you from the ground and dragged you towards the mansion, stumbling with every step.
……….
How you ended up in this situation you didn’t know.  It was obvious you stumbled upon some gangster, mafia, hooligan, whatever you wanted to call it household and now you were in deep shit. Your heart was racing, and stomach filled with butterflies of nerves. You hadn’t been this scared since you needed your vaccination. If only you had gone the right way home, you’d be back in your safe, warm bed. But instead, you were here.
The room was dark, not pitch black that you couldn’t see but eerie. The floor was wooden, with cracks and holes, the walls dark and the lights above dimmed. It looked more like a dungeon of some sorts looking at the walls. Chains hung in long lengths, each one hanging on its own hook followed by belts, leather straps, cuffs, and rope. Next to that a wall of implements looking rather scary. Long whips, long sticks, paddles, handles with long leather strands. You had no idea what any of those did and you didn’t want to know. There was a chest of old draws as well most likely holding other torturous equipment.
As for you, you had nowhere to go. Currently being tied up. You were stood in the middle of the room, naked, your clothes discarded in a small pile to the side. The man that took you in held you at gun point whilst he ordered you to take your clothes off. You did so without hesitation out of fear of getting hurt. Once you were bare, he bound you tightly and left you here in silence. There was a metal collar wrapped around your neck, tight but enough room to swallow and breath. From the collar, a chain ran down the centre of your body, leading to a metal belt around your hips. Each wrist was cuffed with a leather cuff, locked to the belt with little to no room to wiggle them. from there, a long piece of chain ran down the middle of your legs, cuffs around your thighs, knees and ankles all attached to the one chain and finally chained to the floor. There was a chain holding you up to the ceiling, keeping you in place and preventing you from falling over.
Never, ever in your life had you ever been tied up like this, a vulnerable girl on show for the next person to walk in and see. Like you said before, you were a good girl, innocent, sweet and kind, a nerd. Someone who spent their time studying, doing good deeds. You weren’t religious but you might as well be. Never did you sin. But today was a different story.
The man who reeked of cigarettes and cologne had left you about fifteen minutes although it felt like hours and the only thing you could hear was the rattles of chains and your heavy breaths shaking from your lungs. You scanned the room constantly, trying to look behind you to the door but there was no leeway. It was all a waiting game.
Suddenly the door opened, a loud creak and you froze, the chains ceasing their rattles. The door shut with a firm push and the sound of heavy evenly paced footsteps sounded behind you. Your eyes went wide, cheeks flushing with the thought of a stranger walking in to see you naked and tied. You thought best to not struggle and scream for help. They could have a gun too. A strong scent of cologne hit your nose and it was intoxicating as the body came nearer to you. You took a shaky breath in, swallowing hard and the person came into view as he stepped in front of you. You looked with wide eyes up at him, biting you lower lip nervously.
He was tall, at least six feet. His cologne was sharp and rich. He had longish dark hair, unlike the man before, a few strands dropping in front of his face. His jawline was snatched underneath a beard. His eyes were dark like the ocean, gazing at you intensely. He wore a suit of fine black, a cotton turtleneck underneath a double-breasted jacket with matching tight slacks and polished dress shoes. He was a thing of beauty, his chiselled jaw line clenching as he sucked in his cheeks, eyes wandering all over you. You didn’t speak nor move, and he stopped in front of you, staring.
The first noise you made was a sort of squeak as the silence was beating down on you. A slight rattle of the chains had you tugging at them from his intimidating stare.
“Well, I didn’t expect to come home to this but here we are” he spoke, his voice like liquid gold, smooth and luxurious. He must be the boss, the one the other man was talking about.
He took a step around you, his eyes inspecting every inch of your body, humming softly as he circled you like a vulture on its prey.
“Perhaps you want to explain to me why you were trespassing on my property?” he asked, his voice a little demanding as he appeared back in front, and you swallowed.
“I-I wasn’t… well I mean I didn’t mean to. You see I was studying and I decided to go somewhere quiet and I found this nice spot but then I couldn’t remember the way home and my cell was working and I ran out of water and then I found this place so I thought I could ask for help but then I couldn’t get in so I jumped the gate but then a man jumped on me and thought I was a cop and… now I’m here” you rambled on like a nervous wreck explaining every part of your story whilst the man stood and listened, his eyes narrowing.
“You came out in the middle of nowhere to studying?” he questioned, raising a brow. It seemed silly the way he was saying it… and maybe upon realising it was.
“Well, I wanted a quiet place to do my notes, the city can be so distracting sometimes” you murmured, and the man gave a light chuckle. He glanced over to the pile of clothes where your bag was also situated. He padded over to it, opening it up and pulling out your textbook, trailing back over to you.
“You want to go into law” he asked, glancing to you sideways whilst he opened the book.
“Yeah, I want to be a lawyer, I have so many exams and so little time to study an- “a slam of the book cut you off and made you jump, watching as he threw the book to the side, letting it clatter and he didn’t even flinch. You were rambling too much, a nervous habit you picked up.
“What else is in that bag of yours?” he smirked, opening the bag up further and digged around. He pulled out your cell phone, flipping it open. Of course, you owed a flip phone. Those newer models were way to fancy for you.
“Oh, who’s Peter, is he your boyfriend?” he smirked, opening up a text from him. You blushed heavily, despite Peter only being a friend of yours but the man was so intimidating, he could say anything and make you heat up.
“Oh, no he’s not my boyfriend, he’s a friend who happens to be a boy but there’s nothing there between us and probably won’t be” you started to ramble on again, nerves getting the better of you as the man circled you, scrolling through your phone before coming back in front of you, sighing heavily.
“He likes this other girl cal-mmm” the man grabbed your lips, squeezing them together to silence you and towered over you, his cologne getting stronger as he leaned close.
“Shut. Up” he ordered.
“Okay” you managed to squeak out, staring up at him and he smiled, releasing your cheeks.
“What’s your name?” he asked, stepping back slightly. You told him your name, staring up at him, hands clenching in the cuffs and legs shaking a little.
“So, you don’t have a boyfriend” he said, and you shook your head no.
“Have you ever had a boyfriend?” he asked, and you shook your head no again. You hadn’t had a relationship at all… and you were still a virgin.
“So, all of this is… untouched” he waved to your body, and you gulped, not nodding your head by the answer was clear. A greedy smirk appeared on his lips, his eyes slightly tightening.
“What are you going to do with me?” you asked scared, and the man took a deep breath, as if he was thinking for a moment before he stepped closer, causing you to lift your head up to look at him as he towered over you.
“I’m going to punish you for trespassing on my property” he grinned.
“But I didn’t” you pleaded, and he raised a brow.
“Really… did you forget the part that you told me about jumping my gate and wondering into my garden. I’m sure Steve told you, but I don’t like trespassers” Steve, that was his name. It was nice to put a name to the face.
“Uh huh” you nodded.
“I mean I could call the cops, have them arrest you, charged for trespassing and I’m sure that wouldn’t look good on your application for law school”.
No, anything but that. you had worked so hard to get where you were, a silly little thing like this could blow it all up.
“No, please… I’ll do what you want” you begged, and he chuckled.
“Good girl” he truly was an evil man. He brushed his body against you as he stood behind you, his hands starting to touch you. They were warm and his skin was smooth except for the cold rings adorning his hands. One on his pinkie on the left and one on his thumb on the right. His nose trailed over your shoulder, dragging up your neck to your ear.
“Wh-what’s your name?” you dared to ask, wondering who the man torturing you was. He grinned softly behind you, whispering into your ear.
“It’s James… but you can call me Sir”.
“Have you ever been tied up like this” he whispered, his hands slightly distracting you as they felt every inch and curve of your body. You shuddered at the tingle that went through your body, a warm feeling in between your thighs.
“No” you whispered, and he smirked.
“Have you ever been spanked before” he asked, and you gulped.
“No” you squeaked and a sharp slap to your ass came quickly, causing you to jolt and yelp.
“No what” he ordered softly, and you bit you lip, your mind completely elsewhere.
“No, I haven’t?” you said with no confidence, and he grabbed your ass tightly in his hand.
“No Sir” he corrected.
“You know only bad girls get spanked. I’m sure you’re a good girl most of the time, aren’t you?” he teased, his hand slowly rubbing the sore spot he had just spanked.
“Yes, I am… Sir” you remembered quickly to answer with Sir.
“But today you decided to be a bad girl, didn’t you?” you gulped, blushing bright red.
“Ummm” you weren’t sure how to answer.
“Yes, you did” he answered for you before spanking you hard. you lurched forward, losing your balance a little, the chains rattling hard, but you gathered yourself again. His hand spanked you hard again, his fingers gripping the underside of your ass. You groaned, your ass starting to sting. Another spank came, harder and you whimpered, tugging at the cuffs. James laughed softly under his breath, his nose tickling the back of your ear, lips trailing his neck and he pressed a soft kiss to a sensitive spot. You couldn’t help the moan escape, a noise you had never made.
“You like this don’t you, you like me hurting you” he teased, and you shook your head.
“No” you whispered.
“Your pussy says different” he answered, a hand creeping between your thighs and his fingers glided over your wet pussy, gathering the dripping juices. You gasped at his tender touch, having never had a pair of fingers down there before.
“This little virgin pussy is dripping for me” he placed his head on your shoulder, staring down your body as his hand began to rub small circles along your clit, sending shocks through your body.
“Oh… Sir” you whimpered, crumbling in your ties and under his touch. He spanked you again, leaving your ass bright red and marked.
“Look at you, just crumbling under my touched. You are really innocent aren’t you” he smiled, and you gulped. His beard scratched your delicate skin, rubbing across as he pressed a kiss to your neck, biting the sensitive area and sucking hard. You yanked at the chains as he sucked harder, pulling the skin and letting it pop, leaving a bright purple mark. Never had you felt like this before, all these feelings and tingles and shocks and pain and pleasure mixing all into one overload of sensations. James spanked you some more, your ass turning numb from the impact, leaving fingerprint marks across your skin, a mark of his work.
“Now, are you going to be a good girl and not trespass again?” he asked, his hand dipping back onto your pussy, fingers slipping through the flaps and reaching your clit, rolling small circles that made you tighten at how good it felt.
“Yes Sir” you breathed, eyes shut and legs shaking. There was a growing sensation over your pussy, heating up and getting more pleasurable as he rubbed.
“Oh god” you whined, wondering what that sensation was leading to. James continued rubbing, his fingers moving faster until you reached a climax, slipping over the edge pulsing with pleasure, juices running down his fingers. Your body turned hot and sweaty, eyes rolling to the back of your head and hands tightening in the cuffs. It was a high you’d never felt before and it was insane. James chuckled as he slowed his pace, pressing a kiss to your skin.
“You just had your first orgasm baby” he whispered, and you gasped, eyes shooting open, and he chuckled, giving your ass a slap. The slap felt like nothing since your ass was so numb. Your first orgasm. You always thought you’d have your first with the love of your life or your first boyfriend and yet it was taken by this handsome dominant man. And yet, you weren’t mad. More confused and couldn’t quite comprehend it all.
“Come on, I’ll take you home” he said as you caught your breath, calming down from your intense climax.
You sat in the seat next to James, legs clenched together as your pussy soaked your panties. What just happened. Anyone would have screamed and begged to be let go, cried whilst they were spanked and tortured like that, especially as she had never been touched before. Yet, she had enjoyed it, every moment. Why, she didn’t know, and she wouldn’t be able to think clearly until she wasn’t next to the intimidating dominant man driving the car. His car was sleek and fancy, leather seats and high-tech interior. He drove with one hand, the other lazily resting on the rest in the middle of them. You watched nervously as you entered the city, pulling up to your place. You lived in an apartment on your own, moving in when you moved up town to Brooklyn for law school. You decided to take a year’s gap to earn as much money as you could before going to law school.
James stopped the car gently, turning off the ignition before turning to look at you.
“I want you to meet me here tomorrow” he said. it wasn’t a question; it was an order.
“Wh-what for?” you asked, fiddling with your bag on your lap.
“Because I’m not done with you yet” he smirked, and a tingle shot through your body. You bit your lip and nodded slowly.
“O-okay” you answered, and he smiled. James leant over and you sucked in breath before realising he was opening the door for you.
“Now get out” he ordered, and you scrambled out.
“Um… thanks for the lift” you said politely. You couldn’t help not saying thank you, that’s just who you were. He smirked and gave a light laugh through his nose before pulling away, the engine roaring. You raced into your apartment, throwing your bag on the floor, and dumping your body on the couch.
What the fuck just happened.

a twig branch snaps, and you immediately duck behind a bush. heavy breathing and exhaustion burning your muscles. just outside of the city, you try and get some cover from the raiders running around the streets; they've been setting everything on fire. even the smell of fire still invading into your nose.
moving down the eerie neighborhood is tough, especially with a limping leg and a heavy backpack. you risked your life for those rations --only to get chased out by those raiders. they chased you like you were prey, and you walked out alive (mostly) with a bullet in the calf and a running trail of blood.
you press your ears into the ground, making yourself as small as possible. praying that it's simply a deer, a hopeless dream. deers have been nearly all hunted. but you hope the burn in your lungs stops soon, and you cling to yourself, willing the pain away long enough that whoever is nearby leaves.
"clear, no sign of life." you hear a low voice shout nearby. the raiders were still looking for you, going as far as to chase you even outside the city. you know what lies ahead if you get caught. so you bite down, shoving your teeth into your bottom teeth, trying to numb the pain of that bullet.
you stay crouched there for another ten minutes before you even decide it's okay to lift your head off the ground, raiders had no morals, their signals could be a trap and you wanted to take the extra precaution.
and then you army crawled away to a fence, thanking the heavens that you ran fast enough to get into the suburbs. the trail of blood is still worrisome. grabbing ripped rags from your bag, you try your best to tie them around the wound just enough to stop the bleeding.
"fuck fuck fuck." you bite into a stick nearby as you wince and tie a final knot. securing your leg. laying yourself up against a wall, and breathing through the pain, wincing every so often until you feel the pain subside to a low numbness.
you haul yourself up to a house, it's oddly pretty, even with it's dilapidated roof and furniture all thrown out the front lawn. you think you would've bought the house before d-day. and with a heavy grunt you drop into a couch. it's been torn apart, but as long as it does it's job you don't care.
the pain is still throbbing and it just looks bad. you cover the windows with fabric lying around and press a wooden board against the door. and with one final breath, you flip your switch blade open and dig straight into your calf, screaming into a spare shirt and digging the bullet from out of your leg. muted screams so hard that you think you might've bursted your own eardrum, and pain so bad that you shake until you drop back onto the couch.
the bullet is out, flung across the floor and blood all over. you feel like passing out, but you spit out your shirt and wrap it around the now open wound, bleeding profusely on the wooden floor. with sweat all over your forehead and pain so severe you feel your body shake until you pass out.
you knock out cold.
--
"up." you wake up to the noise of a woman, her lower face is covered with a bandana and she has a long blade pointed right at your throat. if you moved a centimeter closer, that blade would no doubt pierce your jugular. "i said up!" she shouts at you.
you throw your hands up as you try to get yourself up, it's so painful to even sit up half your body. but you manage to have your back leaning against the couch. she stares at you with sharp eyes, eyes that no longer gleam in the light.
you stay as still as possible, waiting for the woman to do anything really, anything that won't end with you beheaded on this rotting old couch. she stares at you, blade never moving a centimeter. she glances around you, seeing the blood all over the floor, backpack open with supplies all spilled out. the pant leg that you have scrunched over your knee, and most of all the blood soaked shirt tied around your leg.
"bite?" she says, and you can see how in a second, she could decide whether you live or die.
"no. bullet. raiders." she nods and scans around the room, that blade still very much at your throat. she looks back down at your backpack, filled with old dog food.
"split 80/20. i let you live." she demands.
"split 50/50, i give you the better half." you negotiate back.
"i don't think you understand how this works, you give me what I want, i don't slice your neck open." she continues, pointing the tip just enough that it pricks at your skin.
"split 50/50, and i give you medical supplies." you counter. she stops and thinks for a bit.
"you're bold, even with a sword at your neck...fine." she says, and drops her blade, you relax a bit but then she points it right back at you. "show your weapons."
you move to slowly bring out the small revolver and pre-made molotovs tucked in a smaller bag compartment. her blade never leaves your throat. you unload the revolver, two bullets dropping to the ground, before you sit back on the couch, "happy?"
she doesn't comment. you lean forward, letting out a grunt as you pick up the two bullets, reloading it into the revolver, tucking it into your belt.
"ah fuck." you groan as you check on your wound, it's become an ugly purple, brusing all around and sensitive to the touch. you breath heavily and wince at the touch.
"did you sterilize it?" the woman's voice is strong and clear, no sign of hesitation.
"no. passed out." she nods and digs through her own bag, pulling out a molotov. "i'm going to douse it, bite down on something." you nod and grab another shirt from your bag, watching as she pours the liquid over your wound, you scream out like a wounded dog, and nearly fall over.
"needle and stitches?" she asks you. you nod and point into the small compartment of your bag. she pulls out the small sewing kit in your backpack, grabbing old sutures and tying it around the needle.
"bite." she orders. you shove your teeth hard into the shirt, as she begins sewing up the wound, jagged from the switchblade. the pain becomes so unbearable you pass out even sooner.
--
waking up to the sun in your eyes, you find yourself still on that same rotting couch. your body is hot, running like a furnace. you glance around and everythings out on the floor: dried blood, your switchblade, that bullet across the floor and your revolver.
you groan as you sit up, now your leg is sore and heavy, your face is hot and burning up. but the door is ajar, you scan around and half your food is gone, along with the suture kit.
"fuck." the woman's abandoned you. taken what she needed and crept out before you could even say bye. she holds up to her bargain, 8 cans of dog food became 4, and you still have your revolver on you.
"damn her." you start getting your items back in order.
--
the weather's getting colder, and you only have that workman jacket around your shoulder. the wind gets harsher as the days go by, the sight of falling leaves and pine cones littered the ground. you kneel behind a tree, eyes trained on a lone buck.
he stops eating grass to look around, before dropping his neck back down for more grass, and before his next bite, he drops instantly. body falling to the floor with an arrow through his head. a clean and sharp shot.
you drag yourself up, tucking the bow into the side of your backpack, and limping towards your fresh breakfast/lunch/dinner for the next few weeks. smiling at the labor finally paying off, stripping down sticks until they become sharp points to pierce through skin.
as you walk across the meadow to retrieve your prize, you start to hear distant galloping behind you, causing you to duck and turn around; before you know it, you're grabbed by the arm and thrown onto the back of the horse. you immediately grab onto anything you can hold on, that being the waist of the rider.
"woah."
"shut it, we're being chased." the woman kicks the horse into higher gear, and you both speed off into the woods, you turn you back just in time to see a group or horseback riders with lit torches chasing you across the meadow.
you try not to think about the lone buck that should've been yours.
--
you get off the horse and immediately start throwing up on the ground, shaken by the sudden movements and jostling around. the woman pays you no mind though, securing her horse to a branch and staring at you.
"i don't know how you've survived this long." she starts. pulling out carrots to feed her horse, the horse happily munching on his lunch.
you're still puking, but just the insult is getting you riled up. "i survive just fine."
"those raiders would've sacrificed you by now." she says and crosses her arms.
"no, they wouldn't." you counter, and she sighs before untying the horse, and leading it away. you follow behind it. "...but thank you. for saving me. twice."
you try to not let your pride get the better of you, considering this women lent a helping hand in your darkest moments.
she doesn't say anything back and continues walking through the forest. you trail behind her for what must've been thirty minutes before she speaks up.
"it was a trap, that lone buck." she goes on. "no zombies, and a lone buck in an open meadow. you should've known better." she says to you. you're immediately enraged.
"how would i know that?" you are tired of these insults.
"you should have." she just says, and it ends there.
"since you know so much, you should teach me." you say. she laughs at that.
"no, i survive alone." the way she says it is firm.
"listen, everyone could do well with a partner, i could share knowledge that you might not, and you can share the infinite wisdom that you seem to have." you're tired of traveling alone with no one having your back, maybe you can get her to work with you.
"no. i survive alone." she continues.
"oh don't be like that, i gave you four cans of dog food." you try and make a joke, remembering how she left you weeks ago.
"no, i let you keep four cans of dog food and let you live, there's a difference." she counters.
"let's not get into the technicalities, you ever heard of the phrase of strength in numbers?" you smirk, trying to get her to understand reason.
"strength in numbers is foolish if im surviving with deadweight." she says firmly, shaking her head at the idea.
"i am not deadweight! i cook up a mean meal of dog food and peas." you explain.
"yeah no, not happening." she says with finality.
you huff but continue walking with her.
--
"stop following me." it's been about an hour.
"you can't tell me what to do." you sound like a small child throwing a tantrum.
the woman sighs and continues walking with disdain. you're still sticking so close by her. both of you reach a small tucked away cabin. it's been expertly covered in moss and dirt to blend into the background. she walks away from the house a few meters away and ties her horse to a tree.
"woah, sick place." you comment, amazed by the well thought out hideout, it's truly a place you wouldn't have thought twice to really look into.
"thank you." she walks in, and taps her foot on the right side, and suddenly there's another opening, underneath the floor.
"woah, wait, the house isn't even the actual hideout, its underground?" she says nothing, you follow her down the stairs to the basement.
"you are seriously too trusting, walking right after me into a basement. i could've lured you into a trap." she says to you as she begins restocking her items. rows and rows of weapons, rations and even a hydroponics system in the room.
"nah, you wouldn't kill me. you would've done it when you found me on that couch." you say, admiring the amount of work he has put to make this place work. it's quite cozy, small camping lanterns in all different shapes laid around the dark room. the room's also filled with carpets.
"carpets?" you mention, it's odd that there's so many carpets overlapping each other.
"muffles noise. sometimes people walk through upstairs, but i make it so that even if they stay for long, i can move freely down here without them hearing."
she's clearly thought this place through, she has everything that she needs down here to survive. it's wonderful really, then a question pops into your mind. "why do you go outside then?"
"what?"
"why do you leave this place if it's so safe?" you ask. she seems more than equipped to survive here in this base. you glance around, looking at the plants that she's growing, amazed at how they're all turning out so well. so much for saying you could cook up a mean meal of dog food and peas.
she doesn't bother answering. instead pulling together jerky and greens from her hydroponics. handing you some, you decline and open your can of dog food, as much as you would like to eat it, her evasiveness is making you weary.
"so, do i get to know your name?" you ask as you shovel the can into your mouth.
"you can call me z."
"okay, z. that's a cool nickname." you chuckle, "what is it short for? zebra, zack?" you joke to yourself, she shakes her head no and continues eating her jerky.
you don't bother her anymore that night.
--
"morning z! what are we doing today?" you haven't felt so safe sleeping in years, feeling well rested and ready to take on the world with your trusty partner. z's busy cleaning her weapons when you wake up.
"nothing. i let you stay the night, you need to leave." she says calmly, wiping her dirty rag into a bucket of water. you frown at that, confused with her hot and coldness.
"dont be like that! strength in numbers remember?" you say, sitting near her, she groans at that.
"stop saying that."
"why? strength in numbers. strength in numbers. strength in numbers." you joke.
"stop it! you aren't chaewon!" she shouts at you, shoving an arrow near your neck. it's oddly familiar, the aggression from when you first met her is there.
"who's chaewon?" you ask.
z just leaves the room, leaving her half cleaned arrows on the workbench. you hear a door open and close, and now you're contemplating following after her. you choose rather to let her calm down, when she calms down maybe you can apologize.
you sigh and look around, feeling bad for being invasive, but you really didn't know. looking around you explore her place more, seeing a locker filled with clothes, and a giant map on a corkboard. pins all over the states, with detailed notes of specific locations. a lot of them were lookout points for raiders.
tucked under the map is a white square, you pull it off the corkboard, and see a very faded photo of two girls. one that you can recognize as z and another girl smiling with a bob. tagged below the image is kz & cw.
you begin to examine more of the notes, a lot highlighting names and times. it seems that z has been trying to find patterns of when raiders are patrolling.
with a sudden door opening, you grab a knife immediately from your waist as you see z rush back inside, finger to her lips as she grabs you away from the corkboard.
"silent." she whispers directly into your ear. you two crouch on the ground and nod. after waiting a couple minutes you hear it. the sound of footsteps getting closer, rustling leaves outside. z nods and uncovers a small machine under the carpet.
she takes one of the ends of the machine and puts it close to her ear. you stay as still as possible as she starts jotting down notes. she grips her pen harder as time goes on. and you stay still, watching her.
--
you find out much later there were raiders out visiting the house while you dozed off. both of you were sitting against the wall waiting for the people upstairs. z has been formulating a plan the whole time. meanwhile, those raiders treated upstairs like their temporary hideout for a couple hours.
after you wake up, and z gives you the all clear to talk, the first thing she asks is, "how good are you at taking out people?"
"the best." you smirk. it was always your speciality, being able to slip in and out of places before anyone could notice, and by the time they did notice, you already had twisted their necks.
"strength in numbers?" she asks wearily.
"strength in numbers." you confirm.
"then i need your help, i need to rescue someone." she goes on. you nod, and she grabs the map off the corkboard. and unfolds a smaller map, one with the layout of a building. "but i don't know if i can trust you."
you gasp, "how could you say that?" you dramatically ask her.
she rolls her eyes at that, "i need a guarantee from you."
"like what?"
"something to ensure you won't ditch me when things get rough." she says, thinking of things to trade.
you take off your pendant necklace, gently placing it in her hands. "this was from my late mother, i'd rather be chased by runners for the rest of my life than to lose this." you state seriously, she nods at the vulnerability and slips it onto her neck.
then z takes off the bandana that's been covering the lower half of her face the whole time. "this is a gift, from the person we're rescuing. i also would rather be chased by runners for the rest of my life than to lose this." she hands you the black bandana, and you tie is around your face, just like she has.
when you look back up, you're shocked at just how beautiful the woman is, even with her lean muscular build you knew she was pretty, but seeing the rest of her face uncovered, she's drop dead gorgeous. face sculpted from the gods.
"what?"
"nothing." you comment, "fill me in on this plan."
"okay, we go in like this..." z starts laying out the steps.
--
you haven't visited the city since that one grueling day, leaving your leg with a bullet. now that you're back you're shivering in anticipation, this city has definitely left its horrifying memories in your mind. with z by your side, you feel a little safer, though.
the outskirts of the city are deadly quiet, filled with car crashes and littering barrels of trash. walking closer into main street, you start to feel your hair stand up on your skin. it's terrifying, being back when you tried so desperately to leave this horrifying place.
"where's the patrol?"
"we have exactly 5 minute 25 second window before patrol comes back." you hear it loud and clear, 5 minute and 26 seconds, you are dead meat.
she then starts picking up the pace, running between alleyways with her head ducked low, always pausing between corners and big obstructions in between the streets.
with the cold wind, you hear howling through open buildings with their glass windows broken through, the sound of fire crackling in barrels and most of all you hear raiders in the distant, cheering and screaming.
"2 minutes left." she says. you follow behind her, quick on her trail. she soon ducks completely behind a building. digging through her backpack for trap mines.
"listen to me, trap mines: detonate with proximity. we need distractions. raiders are extreme in not letting things getting through their grasp, you know this well enough." she says and hands you trap mines. z gives you the signal and you both split. she heads straight for the back entrance of the building while you go around the side entrance.
raiders are shuffling around, trading posts. you crouch close to the ground and place a trap mine close to the door, waiting for a raider to walk close. you crawl backward into safety, reciting the plan to yourself.
a loud boom blows up at the entrance, and you can hear the horrifying scream of a man being blown to pieces, and other voices running after him.
"we're under attack!" the sound of the raider's feet is closer, all rushing towards the entrance with the trapped mine. in the distance, you hear another mine go off, z's mine based on the direction of the sound.
"another?" a raider shouts. then you hear some footsteps fall away. you sneak around the front of the building, examining the situation, most men have spread to the side and back entrance, disregarding the front.
you slip through the front with the open window, you try and step over the broken glass to minimize sound. and soon you creep towards the stairs. a man stands before you, handgun in hand and peaking around for intruders. you dig a shiv right into his neck before he even gets a clue.
dragging the body away, you put on his jacket and hat, grabbing his gun and checking for bullets, a full magazine. you feel lucky, feeling a knife in the jacket you stole. you tuck that into your shoe. you need all you've got to save whoever chaewon is.
the raiders are now patrolling through the entrances, you find yourself able to slip into different levels of the building until you reach the fifth floor, where supposedly chaewon was supposed to be.
when z filled you in on the situation, you piece together that chaewon is z's older sister. she and z used to survive together, going from groups to traveling alone. never sticking by a group for too long. z had explained that chaewon wanted to leave the raiders after she found out that they sacrificed people that they caught just for fun.
it was horrifying; they joined the raiders in hopes of getting protection by being in a large group, but she couldn't stand by and watch innocent survivors being taken out just for the fun of it.
z wanted to leave too, until they both got caught, the raiders let z get away if they let chaewon get sacrificed. so z's been figuring out a plan to break her free, and it seems tonight was supposed to be chaewon's sacrifical night.
you shivered just hearing it, you knew nothing about chaewon but you knew you would never want her to be sacrificed. you can see it, the line of tortured souls, all being watched by the raiders, it seems that their idea of sacrifice is making them fall from stories high into an enclosed space of zombies, all ready to bite these people to shreds.
you line up close, thinking of a way to get them riled up and away from chaewon. you grab a molotov from your bag, along with a gun. with a careful aim, you toss the molotov on the floor, startling the raiders. they're all trying to examine the disturbance, with quickness, you throw another molotov. setting some raiders on fire. with their screams piercing your ears, you grab your gun and start shooting them. the confusion and commotion of the fifth floor is also startling the tortured survivors, they start running towards the stairs.
you're busy trying to find whoever chaewon is while also shooting the raiders. you hear the signature sound of z's long bow, taking out raiders, some even falling straight into the zombie pit. you can't see her but you know that she's here now.
"chaewon!" you shout, and a shorter girl stops, her eyes go wide. you spot her, the girl that looks so familiar to that polaroid back in z's base. her hair is longer, face bruised up. she's sporting a black eye and she's got a weird limp. you grab her hand and drag her away from the commotion, z continues to aim at the raiders.
by the time you are able to get her out of the building, more raiders are showing up. rushing up the building, you grab chaewon's hand and turn to her. "we run now." you tell her.
she nods and like how the raiders chased you out those weeks ago, you run as fast as you can, pulling chaewon along. with the limp, it's harder for her to run but you know even trailing behind for a second could be instant death.
z's plan was this: she wanted revenge, wanted to kill all those raiders for what they did to chaewon. for making her become their sacrificial pawn, so she told you to take chaewon to a safe place. and then she would let hell rain on those fuckers.
you finally spot the theatre, the rendezvous point where you were supposed to keep chaewon safe. the girl is startled, you're wearing her sister's bandana, but you aren't z. and when you finally are able to lock the door, chaewon collapses on the floor, breathing so heavy, and loud. you calm yourself down too, leaning against the door sinking to ground.
"you aren't zuha." she says between breaths.
"who's zuha?" you ask, confused by what she means.
she points at your bandana. "that is kazuha's bandana, i gave it to her." she says, confused written on her face.
"oh. z?" you ask. chaewon is confused but nods. "z is probably a codename she gave me then."
"you met her then!" chaewon sits up and moves closer to you, tears sprouting in her eyes. "is she alive?"
"yes." you reply back, chaewon probably has no idea if kazuha is alive or not. that must be terrifying, letting your sister have freedom, not even knowing if she actually survived outside.
"she uh, made this plan, for us to rescue you." you explain, going into depth about how you two met. also how she is letting you help save chaewon.
"kazuha's a hard person to convince, you must've gotten under her skin." chaewon responds, listening intently about the whereabouts of her sister.
you agree, fishing out food and water for chaewon. she must be starving, you think. chaewon nearly cries at the sight, downing water like she was in a scorching desert. you let her have at it while checking your timer. kazuha told you that if she doesn't return in thirty minutes, that you should take chaewon to the base, and that she probably has died.
you're not going to let that happen; forget that stupid plan to get revenge alone. you're going to go back for her. with a stretch, and drinking your own water bottle, you get ready to set back out. chaewon looks at you in bewilderment.
"where are you going?" she asks while biting on jerky.
"back, i'm not letting her fight those raiders alone." you say, checking your handgun for bullets. chaewon looks at you and nods.
"strength in numbers." she says to herself.
"yeah, strength in numbers." you smile, hearing the familiar phrase. you hand chaewon a handgun and some molotovs. "three knocks, that'll be the signal that we're coming to the theatre, any other knock, that's not us." chaewon nods and checks her gun.
"good luck back there, please bring my baby sister back safely. i'm counting on you." even though this is the first conversation you've had with chaewon, you feel inclined to listen to her words.
"swear on my soul." and with that you exit the theatre.
--
with blood on your face, and the jacket that you stole, you rush into the building. most of the raiders are circling around the ground floor, grabbing an auto rifle, you open fire like you never have before, using the cars around as coverage. with a rage you never felt before you go batshit crazy, slicing down raiders left and right. you don't even feel anything anymore, just with the goal of finding kazuha.
the raiders are all falling by your hands. you rapidly fire at whoever dares to separate you and kazuha. you pick up guns that's been left by now dead raiders. you can hear a distant scream of a woman's voice, sounding like kazuha's voice. your blood runs cold, you rush upstairs, taking out the raider's best you can. at some point you get tired of waiting and just grenade them.
the quicker you can reach her, the quicker you can save her. you rush up to the fifth floor where all the commotion went down. you hear the sounds of raiders all shouting. and with a quick glance, you can see them cornering kazuha.
"you never should've come back kazuha, chaewon let you free, by being a sacrifice to them." the man talks as he points below. he smirks, "you want to trade places with your sister? fine by me."
the man and the rest of the raiders start walking kazuha to the edge. you rush behind two raiders. shiving them each and approaching the rest of the raiders. grabbing a metal sheet you use it as coverage as you rush the rest of them. letting out all your strength, you push the rest of the raiders off the edge, falling to their demise. the man that was speaking to kazuha dodges the attack. you find yourself nearly falling off the edge, but kazuha grabs you in time to pull you back.
so now you two face him, kazuha's gotten pretty beaten up, her arm's messed up and her feet's dragging. so you put yourself in front of her.
"let me handle it." you tell her. she's too tired to protest, after just nearly falling to her demise. you keep her behind you pressed against the wall as you approach the man with a switchblade, he's smirking like he has the upperhand. until you smash a bottle over his head and run at him to tackle him down.
he's pushed his knife back against your blade, and you're fighting with every ounce of strength in your body. pushing the blade closer and closer towards him. he makes a quick movement to toss you off over him. you roll over and he jumps to shove the knife at you, to which you dodge. pushing with all your might to push him off you. you launch yourself forward, stabbing the blade into his neck, blood gushing out all over you. he screams and gasps at the impaling. he makes a final attack against you, slicing your face. you let out a scream but don't let go of the knife in his neck.
soon he falls over to the side, his body going limp when kazuha shoots him in the head. a loud ringing noise running through your ears, you latch onto your face. the gash long and running deep over your face.
kazuha's quick to rush to your side, trying to hold your face with her one good arm. she rips off fabric from her shirt to wrap around your face, as you cry out loud. sobbing at the excruciating pain. the man is dead, and you're thankful you saved kazuha.
--
you gave yourself twenty minutes before getting up. kazuha's been trying to set her arm by herself. you lightly tap her and hold onto the loose arm. you hand her your loose switchblade for her to bite it as you set it back into her socket. she screams into the metal blade. and you're quick to make a makeshift sling for her arm. working with one good eye and pain searing through your body.
she cries at the sight of your face and the blood staining her shirt. this battle wasn't an easy one, but you're grateful that both you and kazuha survived. she keeps crying even as you tell her it's okay. you wrap her good arm around your shoulder as you both slowly make your way out of the building.
after a good while of sobbing to herself, she turns to look at you again. "chaewon?"
"she's safe, put her in the theatre like we talked about." you try as move your face as little as possible. kazuha nods. her limping as she puts her body weight on you like a crutch. even though you're so deep in pain, and the adrenaline is finally wearing off, you're glad you went back for her. you know you would never be able to live with the guilt that she died.
the rest of the walk is silent other than wincing here and there and ragged breaths.
you tap three quick knocks at the theatre door, and you hear the sound of a board being moved behind the theatre. when it opens you see chaewon pointing a gun straight at you. as soon as she recognizes you, she puts it down, ushering you two inside.
"chaewon!" kazuha throws herself at her sister, crying into her. letting out relieved tears at the sight of her sister after so long. chaewon's trying to examine kazuha's injuries, but the girl won't even separate herself.
the two girls hug each other for a long while, just crying into each other. you board up the entrance to the theatre. feeling the exhaustion hit your body completely as you sit down by a chair. as much as it hurts, you smile at the two girls.
finally, you knock out cold.
--
you awake to the two girls speaking to each other in hushed tones. it seems that they're talking about the raiders, how chaewon was kept captive until tonight for her sacrificial night. chaewon cries as she thinks about how she hasn't seen sunlight in weeks, being fed slop and kazuha cries but listens intently.
you try and move yourself up, sitting in the chair. chaewon looks at you, and smiles.
"hi, glad you're awake." chaewon says to you. kazuha also turns to look at you, sobbing when she thinks about the deep gash on your face. you smile back at the two, still feeling the pain of the attack.
"i stitched your face while you were asleep." chaewon says, and she stands up to remove the shirt covering your face. trading it for a clean and new cloth. "he slashed over your eye, i think you won't be able to see out of your left eye anymore." chaewon comments quietly. she gently wraps the new cloth around your face. you nod, the truth of the matter settling in.
"i'm sorry!" kazuha cries out, the guilt of being the reason you lost your eye is hitting her hard. you shake your head no, you would never blame kazuha for what he did. "it's not your fault kazuha, i wouldn't blame you. i had to save you. no matter what."
kazuha cries harder, and you walk yourself over to hug her. calming her down and telling her everything is okay. as long as you still had each other you don't care how many limbs you lose.
you three get ready to finally be away from this cursed city.
"thank you for coming back for me."
"strength in numbers kazuha, i wouldn't ever think of leaving you behind."
--
it's been a couple months since saving chaewon; you've gotten closer to the two sisters. you find that behind the coldness, kazuha is actually a lovely woman. a woman hardened by the loss of her sister by her side. every day, you spend time with the two girls happily. and now you wear an eyepatch, claiming that it makes you look cooler. kazuha rolled her eyes when you made that comment.
meeting kazuha changed the trajectory of your life forever, you're happy to find a semblance of a family with these two girls. especially when kazuha makes your heart race as you get to know her.
sometimes when chaewon isn't looking you sneak a kiss for kazuha, the woman always goes rigid like a plank whenever you do this. you giggle everytime, while chaewon is always confused what happened.
kazuha also had a hard time with expressing affection, so she would always say that you should ride with her on her horse. you know it's because she likes keeping you against her at all times.
sometimes you think chaewon knows what is going on between you two (she most definitely does) but just plays dumbs. like she's waiting for you two to come clean. you don't give her that satisfaction until much later when chaewon catches you kissing kazuha before she sets off for a supply run.
chaewon simply smiles when you see you've been caught. and you smile because it feels like you have gained a family through meeting kazuha.

Two weeks after Arthur had initially stopped by at your cabin for the first time, he decided to go again. But when he arrived in the early afternoon, he found the cabin empty. It wasn’t abandoned, he assessed, as he peeked through the window. There was a dirty cup on the table and a big pot on the stove looked as if its contents were cooking, as the lid sometimes wobbled a little. Arthur noticed an addition to your wall. In between your drawings that you had nailed to the wooden wall, you had pinned your own bounty poster. It was the same that Arthur had shown you the last time, though he was sure he used his to light a fire later that week.
He wondered why you had put it up there, since you had complained about the sketch not doing you any favour. Arthur agreed by the way, not that the sketch made you look ugly, it simply didn't look like you.
The horse tracks in front of your house were fresh and Arthur figured you had left only a few hours prior, probably for a grocery run. So, he waited.
He leaned on your fence and sketched your cabin. Then he sketched the nature surrounding it. When that was done, he explored the forest behind the house, mentally mapping the berry bushes and animal tracks he found. When he came back to your cabin, you were still nowhere in sight, so he plucked another tomato from your plant and then decided he'd head to the pond that's only a five minutes’ walk away. Apparently, he’d have enough time for a wash, and it was right to say that he needed one anyways.
It was an unusual hot and humid day, especially for so far in the North and close to the mountains. Arthur suspected he had taken the sticky air from the swamps with him. The sky was clear, though it smelt like rain. Arthur went into the pond stark naked, the water didn't even reach his chest, but he still started to scrub away with a little piece of soap that he kept on his travels. The path that led to your house wasn’t frequently used, he could tell by how far the grass had overtaken the earth that was occasionally trampled by horses or people. He didn’t particularly worry that people would sneak up on him or that anyone would walk past for that matter.
Arthur was busy with washing his hair, scrubbing days' worth of sweat and dirt out of it, so he didn't hear your horse approach. You had been quick to recognize the man in the pond and your grin grew with the shrinking distance between you. Arthur's head plunged under water about every other second to get the soap out of his hair. He didn't hear your first "Hey!", but when you whistled, loud and shrill, the man looked up surprised.
At first, Arthur’s attention was drawn to a Labrador Retriever standing at the pond’s edge, its tail wagging as though it anticipated this strange man to toss him a stick. Slowly, Arthur’s eyes went up and so he found you, leaning forward in your saddle with a cheerful grin on your face. You looked...different to when he last saw you. Your clothes were well cared for, even your jeans were cleaner than any he had seen in a while. A revolver was casually tucked into the waistband of your jeans. Arthur had probably been right about the grocery run, because your horse bore the burden of loaded bags.
It took only moments before Arthur’s face turned red. The poor man found himself taken aback, and before he could do as much as utter a word, you yelled: "Don't go killin’ all of my fish with that stink you’re carrying!" And then you rode on, the dog faithfully trailing behind. Arthur remained still in the water, feeling a mix of embarrassment, confusion and a hint of amusement…if only it hadn’t come at his expense.
Fifteen minutes later, he was dry and dressed and walked back to your cabin. The door stood wide open, and he saw you stirring the big pot. It smelt deliciously like stew.
Though the door was open, Arthur knocked gently, so he wouldn't startle you by entering. You gave him a quick smile before you turned to the pot again.
"I, uh...I hadn't expected-...", Arthur had thought it a good idea to apologize, but he wasn't sure why, so he halted. Then he noticed that you had prepared the table for two.
"Oh, I didn't know you were expecting someone", he commented, slightly surprised.
"Oh yeah", you turned around with a playful expression. "Don't know if ya've seen him. Naked fella in my pond. I thought he might stay for dinner", you said cheekily. You really hoped he would stay. It was a far reach, but you were curious as to why he had returned.
Arthur took a moment to process your words. He stood still until he had pieced a meaning them together. A smile appeared in the corner of his mouth, mixed with some confusion about your hospitality. Last time you held him at gun point to make him leave...but now, it was like you had hoped he'd be back.
"Just...you might want to take the saddle off your horse. Half an hour, and it will be raining", you said, taking the bowls and filling them with stew.
"Rain?", Arthur walked to the door and looked into the sky. It was as cloudless as he remembered it to be. Though the air held a sticky humidity, and a decent wind swept through the trees behind your house, there wasn’t a single cloud in sight.
"Trust me. I've lived here for a year. The clouds are still behind the mountains, it's deceptive", you grinned, placing the bowls on the table. Arthur's eyes fell on the stew, and he felt his mouth water. This smelled and looked better than anything he has had recently, and he’d prefer to dig in right away. Unsaddling his horse would take a while and...as if you could read his thoughts, you interrupted them: "Can't eat it yet anyway unless you fancy getting your tongue burned off."
"If it ain't raining in an hour, I might take ya in for that 15 dollar bounty", Arthur threatened playfully. You only crossed your arms and mumbled a "Try me."
Arthur had all his stuff in the house in record time and the stew was still steaming when he sat down opposite of you. You had added two slices of bread next to his bowl and a bottle of beer. It was the bread that he took first, and he looked at you surprised.
"'s still warm", he commented.
"Yeah", you smiled, "Client of mine baked it fresh today. It was the last job before I headed back, so it's still warm."
"Client?", Arthur asked, but his full attention was now directed towards the stew. He dipped the bread to soak up some of the savoury juices and had to suppress the urge to sigh contentedly as he took a bite. It was undeniebaly delicious. Indeed, better than anything he had tasted recently.
"You think I make my money robbing and stealing people?", you asked with raised eyebrow.
"Mhm", Arthur nodded, not bothering to offer a verbal response as he was occupied with the food before him.
"I'm...a barber of sorts", you said, "You remember, don't you?"
Yes. He did, now that you mentioned it. You were quite talented with scissor and razor and frequently did the girls’ hair. At one point, even Dutch had trusted his hair to you for some minor trims. It was also useful to pickpocket people, he recalled Miss Grimshaw justifying your worth for a mission once.
"Only I stopped robbing people while doing their hair. It's mostly elders or women from Annesburg. Their husbands work in the mine, and they are in a bad state as it is. I'm cheap, but I do my work well and I have plenty of clients."
"Turned yer life around, then", Arthur mumbled, genuinely feeling a sense of happiness for you.
"Yes. So I hope you don't mind me asking why you've decided to march back into it", though you spoke kindly, there was a sharp edge to your voice.
"Wanted to tell ya that Dutch...I told him yer trail was cold and I couldn't find ya", Arthur explained. A hint of embarrassment crossed his features, prompting him to sit up straight as he noticed he had been slouching over his plate. He cleared his throat, "I think he believed me."
"Thank you, truly", you answered. A huge weight lifting from your heart. So, he did protect you, you wondered.
Arthur asked for a second serving of food, when a thunder rumbled so loud, that the dog jumped up in protest. "Told ya", you mumbled. A few seconds later, the rain began to pour down.
Neither of you said anything until Arthur had nearly finished his second serving. A little small talk followed about the dog, which was calmly lying close to the stove. You had an agreement with the farmer nearby, that you switch taking the dog. Sometimes he needed him for protecting the herd, at other times, you borrowed him for hunting. For the next week or so, he’d live with you.
After this had been discussed, silence ensued again. Then, out of nowhere, Arthur said: "I'm sorry for back then. When ya came to me and told me about yer feelings and I- ehrm."
"You don't have to be sorry for not feeling the same way."
"That ain't it. I was…having a rough day and I…my answer wasn't what yer deserved", Arthur said gloomily, his spoon scratching over the plate to gather the rest of the stew.
Then, he continued: "I really try being an honest man but that night…hell…ya can't even call me half a man the way I let ya down." Arthur chuckled sadly, as if he was remembering the moment.
"What're you saying?", you sighed.
"I'm sorry. 's all. I know I hurt ya a great deal and this wasn't what I wanted."
You nodded in acknowledgement.
"That night, I sat with Hosea and Reverend and we was talking ‘bout Mary…that's why I was a bitter…stupid boy when you approached me."
"Oh. How is she?", you asked drily.
"Mary? I saw her in Valentine a while ago. Needed my help for her brother or something. Not sure how that turned out because I walked away. I was just an errand boy for her."
Arthur was more often the errand boy than he realised. For example, getting you back to join the gang was an errand and had Arthur spent even a minute thinking about it, he probably wouldn't have done it. You exhaled: "Why are you telling me this?"
"I think you deserve to know."
You wanted to let your head drop into the stew. How grateful you were for the little piece of bread dough that you had been rolling and kneading with your fingers for distracting purpose. Otherwise you might have peeled chunks out of your table, because of how tumultuous you felt. Suddenly, the silence was deafening. All you heard was the rain pouring down on your little shack. It violently dripped through the roof in one corner and into the bucket that you had provided there.
Both of you had finished your meals. With a swift motion, Arthur took out a pack of cigarettes.
"D'ya mind?", he asked, already placing a cigarette between his lips.
"Only if you don't share", you said softly. Arthur offered you the pack and you picked out a cigarette. The man struck a match and held it over the table, patiently waiting until your cigarette was lit, not bothering at all that he nearly burnt his finger when he got to lightening his own.
Arthur stood up and walked to the window, a waft of smoke trailing behind him.
"Jesus...", he mumbled as he looked observed the torrential rain. Darkness settled in and visibility worsened with the downpour.
"It won't let up until later tonight", you said, shaking your head knowingly. Observing Arthur lost in thought, he pondered for a while longer in front of the window. Eventually, his gaze shifted to the wall and your heart fluttered as he seemed to thoroughly analyse your sketches.
"You've taken up drawing?", he inquired.
"Days can be long and lonely", you replied.
"Not with her around, they ain't", he added. You were confused at first, but smiled when Arthur knelt down to pet d/n. She happily acknowledged him, her tail wagging energetically.
“What is it with the bounty poster?”, Arthur asked. His hands were busy with navigating through the dog’s fur. You saw how much d/n enjoyed it, as she leaned into the pets. You had collected on of your bounty posters shortly after Arthur had visited you. Why? It was just a terribly corny way of remembering Arthur. The moment he had walked up to your door, you knew that months of trying to forget or get over him had gone down the drain. You might as well acknowledge that you love and want to remember him. But you couldn’t admit that, of course.
“Just to remind me what I’m worth”, you smiled bitterly, “15 dollars.”
“I’m sure you’ve done stuff that deserves a higher bounty”, Arthur cheered.
“Oh yea. I just don’t bother leaving clues behind”, you answered. Arthur didn’t say anything, again. His thoughts seemed to wander, until he pushed himself up on his knees and stated:  "I suppose I should get going then..."
"What? You take baths twice a day now?", you teased. The idea that you would send anyone away in this weather was ridiculous. Arthur looked at you puzzled as if he hadn't understood that you were inviting him to stay.
"It's alright if you stay tonight. I won't have you ride to town in a storm", you explained. Sometimes, plain words are the way to go, you figured. Especially with Arthur. Even though the last time you spoke plainly, it hadn't worked out for you.
"And ya won't try'n kill me in my sleep?", Arthur chuckled and nervously scratched his neck. He was still unsure about staying, despite the premise of getting soaked to skin wasn't nearly as inviting as staying in your cabin, which was still filled with the smell of the stew. Arthur wouldn’t be able to take one more bite, but it smelled homely and comfortable, nevertheless.
Arthur continued: "Last time you threatened to shoot my kneecaps off so-"
"Well, last time, you were an intruder, not a guest. And the news you brought today pleased me way more than the one you gave me two weeks ago."
So, it was decided then. Both of you quickly assessed the sleeping situation. Arthur would spread his bedroll, which had stayed dry - thanks to your warning - at the opposite side of the room from your bed. It was a dry corner and close to the fireplace. You only had one extra blanket to offer, which Arthur accepted gratefully. As it grew darker outside as well as in the cabin, you lit a candle which remained on the table and two lanterns. One of them you put on your bedside table, the other one was taken by Arthur and he simply put in on the floor next to him.
It wasn't that late yet, but you had been on your feet all day. You were exhausted and the steady rhythm of the rain was lulling you right to sleep.
There was no "Good Night" or "Thank you for letting me stay". Neither of you said anything if it wasn't necessary to discuss for logistics reason.
"Want me to blow out the candle before I go to sleep?", Arthur had asked and you had said it would be fine, it was small anyways and would only last a few more hours. The table in the middle of the room pretty much hid the sight of one another, but you still saw that Arthur was scribbling away in his journal, before sleep took over.
You awoke at some point in the night. The rain was still as violent as before, but the candle on the table had gone out. Arthur was asleep, you figured, since he had turned off his lantern. Sometimes, you imagined you heard a snore, but it was really impossible to say with the noise of the weather.
For some reason, you were wide awake. You felt the desire to say something, you wanted to whisper Arthur's name and have him wake up to tell him something. What exactly, you weren't entirely sure. You wanted to thank him for the earlier apology. Strangely, you realised as you stared into the darkness, it had provided comfort you had desperately yearned for. But you knew it was ridiculous to wake him for such a thing, so you simply turned around, facing the wall rather than the direction in which Arthur was sleeping, and forced yourself back to sleep.
Arthur only stirred the next morning when a beam of sunlight pierced through the window. The lingering smell of coffee was something he noticed, even before he had decided it was time to open the eyes and face another day. Given his lifestyle of frequently changing his sleeping place, he sometimes woke up confused. Normally it'd take a few moments for him to remember where exactly it had been that he had fallen asleep. This time, however, his sight fell on your bounty poster on the wall, and he remembered where he was.
Standing up with a grunt, he noticed that you weren't in the house. He also noticed that the early morning had gone, and the sun was already on its way to its zenith. You had gone outside, leaving the door open. In contrast to yesterday, the air had cooled down significantly and Arthur even felt a slight chill as his body adjusted to waking up.
There was a can of coffee on the table and two mugs, one dirty and one clean. Arthur figured that you have had your share of the brown liquid and the rest was meant for him. He thought for a second but decided to put the coffee into the dirty cup, though you apparently had used it this morning, Arthur figured that it'd save time doing the dishes. There was also a pan of milk porridge on the stove and since it also looked like half was missing, he figured that the rest was for him. But he'd rather make sure.
Cup in hand, Arthur walked out of the door. The sun was blinding, the grass wet but green. He saw you immediately, as you were in front of the house, brushing the wetness out of his horse's coat. Your horse stood next to you, looking a offended that you chose to care for Arthur's first.
"G'd morning", Arthur said.
The raspy voice made you smile and look up. Good Lord, the man looked…heavenly. His hair tousled, his shirt all over the place and sleep still lingering in his expression. Yet, with every passing moment, the sun worked its magic, gradually rousing him from his slumber.  You hated how much loved his appearance. You even despised yourself for hoping this wouldn’t be the last time you saw him like this.
"Morning to you, too. Saw the porridge?", you asked, barely spending time on checking the man out but rather focusing on his horse.
"Wasn't sure if it's meant for me", Arthur admitted and lead the cup to his lips. The coffee wasn't boiling hot anymore, but it had a fine temperature to enjoy and still gain some warmth from.
"Oh, I wanted to finish all of it but got sick of it pretty quickly. That's why I collected some berries, uhm", you pointed towards something, and Arthur followed your finger, finding another mug that was filled with some berries, "You can have the rest. I already ate some."
"Thank you", Arthur said, picking up the small mug and shaking it to have a proper look at the blueberries. His thank you sounded generous and kind, you thought.
Arthur walked back inside. He didn't remember the last time he had eaten breakfast. Like, proper breakfast. Not only coffee or a dry piece of bread. He loved the porridge you had made and enjoyed it even more with the berries. It didn't matter how much stew he had eaten the day before, shortly, coffee, blueberries and porridge had been devoured.
"Y/n", Arthur walked out. His hair had flattened a little and he seemingly had found time to arrange his shirt, "I'd fix that roof of yers, if ya let me."
You looked up surprised from your horse, which now enjoyed the same treatment Arthur’s had.
"You don't have to...I don't want to keep you...", you said, almost mumbling the second part. It wasn't true, because you did want to keep him around. Hell, for the first time in a year, you hadn't felt lonely tonight. Making breakfast felt like it had a meaning, if there was someone around to share it with. The last couple of months, you had barely bothered for trivialities like that.
"I want to", Arthur affirmed.
"Then I won't stop you", you smiled. Arthur turned away to walk to the little shed next to your house, but you added a question before his attention was fully on your roof, "Do you mind if I braid your horse’s mane?"
Arthur saw your big grin, and hell he couldn't deny you anything. If you had asked to keep his horse for good, he might have said yes.
"Won't stop ya", he replied.
The day was filled with chores. After you had tended to both horses, Arthur's now adorned with braids in its mane, you got around to cleaning the aftermath Arthur's roof fixing had inside the cabin. Then you said you were off to fish, taking d/n with you. It took you almost an hour to catch two decently sized fish and when you returned, you found Arthur working on your bedframe. It had been askew as long as you remember and you had gotten used to it, but God, your stomach fluttered when you saw him, expertly working the little saw that had rusted away in your shed.
"Not content with me furniture, are you?", you snorted as you laid the fish on the table.
"Sorry, I jus' thought...", Arthur stuttered and looked up.
"It's fine", you laughed, "Thank you for attempting to fix it."
"I'm not good at those things...or a little out of practice at least", Arthur admitted, stood up to have a look at his handiwork. The bedframe looked even, at least.
"Looks better than before", you smiled kindly. And if the bedframe was to break in two when you first sit on it, it wouldn't matter much. Arthur had cared enough to try and fix it.
His eyes now fell on the two big fish. He looked outside, to find the sun has wandered further than he would have expected, suggesting it was early afternoon.
"I should get going...", Arthur mentioned, more to himself than to you.
"You are telling me this after I caught TWO fish?!", you turned around, arms crossed. It had caught you a little bit off guard. Fishing had allowed some time to daydream and in that hour you had already prepared all the questions you wanted to ask him when you served him lunch. So that came like a punch in the stomach.
"Not because I don't want to stay", Arthur uttered, and you found his expression rather gloomy, "I told everyone I''d be back today...we're gonna hit a big score in two days’ time and I expect they want to go over the plan with me..."
"Oh..."
For a moment you thought about telling him that you'd help with the score, no matter what it was. Honestly, any excuse to be with him, be with other people. But you knew it probably meant running right back into Dutch's trap.
You watched sadly how Arthur gathered his belongings. His hat had found a place on the wardrobe and his jacket was neatly sprawled across the chair. In the span of one single night, everything had found its place like he had meant to stay for longer. But you knew that this was merely wishful thinking. Besides, even though you found your feelings for the man come back, you had to remind yourself that he hadn't reciprocated those feelings before and probably never was going to. Yet, he was a friend and a companion, and that, you reasoned, was enough.
You helped to saddle his horse, Arthur inspected the little braids you had worked into his horse's mane.
"Looks real fine", he mumbled.
"Thank you", you grinned, "I'll do your hair next time if ya ask kindly."
"What? With braids?", Arthur responded, looking at you with a comical expression.
"Sure", you grinned, watching as Arthur completed the final adjustments to secure the saddle and his belongings on his horse. He chuckled warmly at the proposition, as if the idea seemed somewhat absurd, yet there was a chance to convince him otherwise.
"Over my dead body, darl-", Arthur swallowed the last word as if he remembered it wasn't a good idea, "I'll stop by again."
"If you do, send word to Annesburg first and I'll have a meal ready", you said with a smile.
"Sure”, Arthur’s eyes fell on d/n as she excitedly circled him. She wasn’t sure if she was meant to say good-bye or if the saddling of a horse meant that she was to go hunting, but she was happy when pet her again.
“Good girl”, he scratched the dog behind the ears, “Take care of her, will ya? I don’t trust her being able to defend herself when a boar comes to steal some tomatoes off her precious plant.”
Despite it being your dog that he addressed so affectionately, you couldn’t help but blush. However, as you glanced to your tomato plants, you noticed a significant number of fruits missing. Yet, you forced a smile on your face and whispered a “son of a bitch” under your breath.
Arthur sighed happily and mounted his horse.
"Good luck...with the score", you said.
"Thank you. It's Hosea's plan so I don't think we'll need much luck. But I'll take it", Arthur tipped his head and steered his horse away from your little cabin, not without a feeling in his chest that he'd rather stay.
When he had left you far behind, he began to undo the little braids. It wasn't exactly his style, though he couldn’t deny that they were beautiful. Before unravelling each one, he'd take it between his fingers and let it run through them, as if this was an excuse or a way to satisfy the urge to do the same with the fingers that had woven them. When Arthur realised this, he felt like a fool.
"You’re a moron...", he mumbled under his breath. He wasn't sure if he wanted to stay at your place because he envied the way you lived. That you had managed to escape from Dutch's crazy plans which became crazier every week. Or that your cabin was in a secluded and picturesque spot. He could see himself living there by himself. Or with you.
And yet, he had to open the braids because if anyone from the gang saw them, they might recognize your handiwork or realise that Arthur hadn't gone for stealing some pocket money out of idiots’ pocket. By lying to Dutch, he had prevented you to come back and take part in whatever insane score would be next. Arthur was proud of having you kept save, he knew it was the right thing to do. After robbing the bank in Saint Denis, the gang would have more than enough money to make an escape…maybe then he would be able to come back to you.

Playing In The Future Home
Fluff and Smut
Tumblr media
1.4 K words
(Jihyo and OC making new memories)
"I can't wait to see where we are going to build our future house," Jihyo said as she looked outside the window. The two of you are on your way to visit the plot of land that you showed her before through FaceTime.
"Minji gave me the keys to the gate so we can park the car inside and walk around." Jihyo puts up her hands closer, "Look, my hand is shaking from how excited I am right now."
"Don't be nervous. I know you are going to like it. We are almost there; just a couple more minutes."
You exit the highway and immediately make a left turn. Then drive down the windy road up a small hill and turn right into a private road. Only two hundred feet into a private road filled with trees and bushes, you are met with a large metal gate, "I'm going to open the gate; I'll be right back." Once the gate is open, you drive inside and close the gate around before driving again. The dirty road eventually leads you to a grass-filled field, "we're here."
The two of you get out of the car; Jihyo walks around for a bit as you get your backpack and binder. "What do you think?"
"It's amazing, and it's big. I love the trees and bushes that surround the entrance."
"Yes, Minji said that the previous owner fenced the entire estate so their animals wouldn't get out. Makes it easier for us because it ensures our privacy."
You take out your binder and show Jihyo some sketches that you and Minji worked on for the past two days. "Look, here are some examples of the potential layout," as you point at the 2D view of the whole estate. "This right here is the layout of the entrance layout just came in front, and we are standing here," as you point at the spot you are standing in. "The lot is huge, and it does have a slight hill towards the back and trees throughout the lot. What Minji and I thought was to keep the entrance untouched, just grass and the house in the middle. Because the area has so much space, we have the option of a one-story house that has spread out or a two-story house. We can also have detached buildings like a music room and multiple guest houses away from the main house but still close. We can even have a large pool with a building on its own, but we would need to childproof it. We have a lot of options to make this place perfect. Towards the back of the lot are multiple trees and a small stream that runs across the end of the property."
The both of you walk around, and Jihyo tries to visualize the house with the binder in her hands. "I like it, and I think the members will be happy. When do you think we can buy it and start building?"
"I talked to Minji about it, and she said that the owner has wanted to sell the property for a while since all his family has moved to the city abroad and has no more use for it. Regarding the building, we can talk to a few contractors and get the permits ready after we buy the property. Shouldn't be too long, but it all depends on the layout of the house."
"The faster, the better; I can just see the babies running around and having fun with each other. I want Jisoo to have a memorable childhood and grow up safe without the eyes of the public on her and the rest."
"She will; just imagine her playing with the twins on a swing or going down the slide. It's going to be perfect." You hold her hand and start to walk, "let me show you the best part." The both of you walk up toward the end of the property, where you see a hill surrounded by numerous trees. There is a special tree that is much older than the rest, and as you both get closer, Jihyo is amazed by its size, "Wow, the tree is huge."
"The tree isn't the only thing; turn around." Jihyo turns to see a fantastic view of the landscape. Her future is right before her, and the rest of the world is in the background. "Omg, the view is wonderful. Thank you, oppa," hugging you.
"Everything here is for us, our future. You deserve the whole world, and I will try my best to give you that." Jihyo tears up from happiness, and the both of you share a passionate kiss.
"Thank you."
After settling down, you both sit on the blanket and snacks you brought and enjoy a bottle of wine. Jihyo, a good drinker, enjoys the wine more than you and, little by little, gets tipsy. "Oppa, want to mess around a little bit? We're alone, so we can have a little fun," giving you a sexy wink.
"For you, I'm able to go all the way."
She pushes you down, gets on top of you, and starts to unbutton your shirt. "Don't do anything; I'll take care of everything and just enjoy." With your chest exposed, she kisses every inch of you, "oppa, you have a manly chest; I love it."
You give a soft moan as she kisses your neck, "Jihyo, it hurts."
Jihyo looks down and sees the large bulge in your pants, "Oh wow, hard already?"
"It's just that you're too sexy, I can't help it."
She undoes your pants and fishes out your cock. "Don't worry, little fellow; you'll get your turn soon enough." Once she's done with your neck, she stands up and pulls down her leggings and panties. Jihyo sits on your shaft, causing you to moan, "Ahhh, you're bending my cock."
"Hmmm, I can feel your cock throbbing, but it's not time yet," as she begins to grind on you. The feeling of her lips hugging your cock throws you over the edge, and Jihyo knows it. "How do you like that? You like it when I grind my pussy on your cock?"
"Jihyo, please don't tease; let me put in it."
"Just a bit longer," as she increases the pace. She puts more of her weight on your cock, causing you to moan in pain. "Fuck, I can feel your hot cock throbbing. You're such a bad boy, but good job on holding on. Here is your reward."
Jihyo grabs your cock and lifts herself, aligning it to her entrance. You watch as the head of your cock spreads her lips apart, causing you to gasp, "Fuck, you're so tight." She drops her whole weight, and her cunt swallows you whole, "Ahh… fuck, you're cumming already?"
You grab her waist and hold her tight, "take all of my cum!" She places her hands on your chest and digs her nails as she begins to ride you as you cum inside her. "Let it all out; I'll milk you of all you're worth."
You see her lustful eyes, the eyes of someone who's found her prey. She rides you as you cum, her tits swaying from side to side, "come on baby, do you like how I ride your big cock? Your cock that's filling me up with baby batter. Stay hard for me, okay."
Jihyo, with her head on your chest, can hear your heavy breathing, she knows that she has you in her hands. "You think you can go for another round?"
“Ye…yeah… I… I can."
She sits back up, ties her hair in a ponytail, looks you in the eyes, and begins to ride you once more. You can help you move your gaze, but she says, "Don't, look at me. You're mine."
All you hear now is the noise of flesh grinding against each other, Jihyo's tight walls choking your cock.
She rides you for about five minutes until you cum once, filling her womb with baby batter. "Yeah… just like that. Fill me up with your cum” as she tightens up her cunt. Once she's done milking you for the second, she lifts herself up and lays beside you.
Haven gotten a happy ending you look at her erect nipple and attach yourself you it. "Aww, my poor baby, there, there. Suck on mommy's tits until you're full, okay" as she caresses your head. You fall asleep attached to her breast as Jihyo hugs you tight in her arms.

it was that time again. where the heat warmed his loins, he became insatiable, desperate, where he crawled about his hands and knees like a wild animal in search of a hole to fill. the moon’s glow rained down across his skin, painting the patches of flesh exposed to it in silver-grey stripes, despite enjoying the night he kept close to the shadows so as to not alert anyone in such a peaceful suburbia, one he would very much disrupt with his mere presence.
a scent had carried him here, unbenounced to him as he seemingly snapped out of his animalistic trance, finally coming to in order to observe his surroundings for a moment. the houses all looked the same, a mere copy and paste of white and beige, the same pristine picket fence lined their front yards, the lack of individuality made balor’s stomach curl with disdain. the scent had picked up again, a brisk wind had elevated it, it was sweeter, richer than the last. balor twitched with excitement, the vine-like tendrils protruding from his back fluttered softly along with the breeze, his cock grew hard between his exposed thighs. the scent was close, maybe two or three houses over. he had never experienced such a sweet scent, he had sampled a few that could run in close second but by god that held nothing on this sweetness
he followed slowly, his knuckles leading his strides, carefully weaving through bushes and other shrubbery, making sure to keep himself hidden, sticking as close to the walls and the floor. soft grunts caught in his chest, his cock throbbing with such dispair, his seed already glossing the tip, slowly beginning to leak down his shaft. balor was beside himself, his heat had never been this bad, he’s never gotten off this quickly just by a scent. maybe he was losing his mind, or what was left of it at least. balor stuck up his nose, inhaling deeply as the scent grew more prominent. he found himself in front of the house it was permeating from. balor licked his lips feverishly, tongue hanging out past it has he scaled the side wall of the house, realising the origin of the sweetness was coming from the second floor. he peeked through the window, squinting his eyes to gain a clearer vision, he noticed a sleeping figure, sprawled out across the bed, the same scent radiating from between your thighs.
the warm summer air proved fruitful for balor as he noticed your body void of any clothing, such a welcoming invitation. balor’s cock leaked with anticipation, finally his frustrations were going to be dealt with. slowly, he pried open the latch of the window, slipping inside without so much as a word. he crawled over to the foot of your bed, admiring how wet your cunt was. you must have been touching yourself, it would explain why your scent was so strong.
his weight made a slight dip in the mattress, one that made you stir in your sleep in a minor way. balor was quick to act, the tendrils had a mind of their own, two wrapping around your ankles tightly, prying your legs apart, balor inhaled your scent deeply before the tendrils mimicked the same actions as before, wrapping tightly around your wrists this time securing them behind your back balor’s cock was flushed with arousal, teasing your dripping folds with the tip, surprised slightly at how slick your little pussy was. his breath became heavy, growls catching in his parched throat as he slowly filled you up, adoring the way your confused whimpers sounded as he stretched your walls.
“shhh, little bunny…” balor reached around, stuffing your mouth with your ruined panties which you’d discarded by your side previously.
“balor needs to breed you…” your soft whines flooded his senses, feeling like he was drowning in arousal as he gave the first, rough thrust. he had been waiting days for this, he definitely was not going to waste it by going easy on you. he bottomed out, remaining deep inside as he watched your hips squirm back against his cock, completely unaware you were being taken advantage of, nor that it was by a being that was otherworldly. still, your cunt continued to slick his cock with your wetness.
he began to move, rough and fast as he pounded into you. he was feral, unhinged, just so enthralled to finally bury his cock deep in a cunt. spit began to gather around the corners of your mouth, dripping down your chin, staining your sheets, continuing to remain blissfully unaware of your situation. balor became even more frantic, his cock twitched inside your warmth. he could feel the clench of your sweet pussy around his size, god…even as you were so unaware, your cunt dripped for him. balor did not hesitate to fill you up, pumping you with rope after rope of his hot seed, breeding your fertile hole in the process. he’s even caught you whimpering at the sensation.
he pulled out, admiring the sight of his cum leaking from between your thighs. he knew he would need to fill you up more than once

Hey! I've gotten super into solo rpgs but I tend to find combat boring. Are there fantasy themed rpgs with less focus on combat that you would recommend? (If they are soloable, that's also a win!)
THEME: Fantasy Solo Non-Combat.
Hello friend, thank you very much for your ask! I'm going to direct you to two Solo-themed game recommendations first, before I dive into today's recs.
Character-Focused Solo Games: Games that focus on character-building. Lighthearted Solo Games: Fun, non-serious solo games.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A Year in the Spirit World, by ToriBee.
The wind rustles through the emerald canopy above as you open your eyes to an unfamiliar world. You're lying on a bed of lush moss, the gentle warmth of the Spirit World sun caressing your face. Around you, a forest of towering ancient trees, each pulsating with an otherworldly glow. It's ethereal, enchanting, and unlike anything you've ever seen.
Drawing from a deck of fate, you'll encounter spirits, creatures, and natural phenomena as enchanting as they are daunting. Each encounter might test your spirit, challenge your harmony with this world, or tempt you to act against your values.
There is some combat in this game, but it certainly doesn’t seem to be the focus. The game is about survival, but you’re as likely to be navigating social situations as you are to be fighting enemies. What I like about this game is the spirit companion who will travel the world with you: there are four different options, each of them cute and enchanting. If you love Studio Ghibli films, you should definitely check out A Year in the Spirit World!
The Goblin Thought, by Kai Medina.
The goblin hoard - a pile of goods and trinkets - is a place of greed, yes. But it's the same greed that thrives throughout this land of men and beetles. It's the allowed selfishness that helps us learn and grow, walk and run, screech and scramble. The hoard is the goblin's memory.
The Goblin Thought is a unique and engaging journaling game that combines chance and narrative to create a compelling story. Players take on the role of a goblin, collecting memories and items in their hoard as they navigate through a world of wonder and danger, allowing for growth and change. With a deck of cards and a six-sided die, each turn presents new challenges and opportunities for creative storytelling, drawing, and reflection.
This game is placed in a fantasy setting, but with a larger purpose. It’s both a journaling game and a thought experiment, a chance to place yourself in the shoes of someone whose history exists within the hoard they have accumulated. Each card you draw from a deck has three prompts attached to it, so you have the potential to play this game (and build a history) for a very long time.
Little Shepherd, Little Spy, by @psychhound.
You try to keep out of the whole war business.
It’s just not really your thing. There are more important things to worry about, like Gethin, your biggest ram, getting stuck in the fence again, or Ffion rubbing against the raspberry bushes and getting her wool all sticky.
Life is pretty simple for a humble shepherd such as yourself.
Little Shepherd, Little Spy is a solo journaling game about being a spy in the fairy war. Choose which side you're on, then draw tarot cards to interpret the messages coming through the information ring. Your tarot card tells you what book to look at and what page. Then you copy down all the relevant information on that page and consult your spy codebook.
I absolutely love fairy games and the premise for this one is super interesting to me. Your character will be interpreting messages that take the form of books that you have on your shelf, and you’ll determine which book to look at (and which page to read) by drawing tarot cards from a deck. If you look into this one I definitely recommend setting aside some time, and perhaps selecting a few books for each category to have on hand, to ease the cycle of play.
The Wandering Library, by AP.
You are the proud owner of a Wandering Library. Whether you bought, built or inherited it, it is your home. Travelling as far and as wide as you desire, your days are spent encountering an assortment of customers, exploring new locations, and tending to your beloved home of books.
This is a a game designed to generate prompts for you to answer in as much or as little detail as you would like. All you need is two six-sided dice and your preferred method of journaling. Using the tables provided, you will explore locations and meet different people, recording your adventures and encounters as you travel in your Wandering Library.
This is a simple one-page game that presents you with a few starting questions, and the supplies a grid of prompts that you’ll roll 2d6 for. Each prompt is a new event, complete with a question, asking how your character reacts. There’s plenty of room for your own imagination. The house is a travelling library, which feels pretty fantastical to me! This game will likely last a few hours or so; it’s not really built for extended play.
Fetch My Blade, by Ethan Yen.
For years you have served your Master faithfully. A loyal companion, you accompanied your Master through the difficult times, and the good times. Now, you are called in a moment of dire need: a Stranger has challenged your Master to a duel, alluding to time before you. Your Master rises to the challenge, calling you forth. This is your moment. You have trained for this. It is time to do your Master proud.
FETCH MY BLADE is a solo journaling roleplaying game where you play as the dog of a retired legendary master of the sword, tasked with a quest of your own: retrieve your master’s fabled weapon in time for their final duel. On your quest, you will uncover and explore your Master’s guarded past-- transforming your character, deepening your relationship with your Master, and ultimately influencing your Master’s fate.
This is a lovely little game of exploring a dog’s relationship to their Master, and developing a backstory as you play. I don’t think there’s specifically a setting in place for this game, but the presence of swords certainly points towards the fantastical. There doesn’t seem to be any specific combat in the game, but violence is considered to have happened in the past, as the game provides a content warning regarding a war that has already happened.

One why are you scared of horses and two do you mind if we show you art not fanart like stuff we drew ourselves just a general question?
People are always free to show me what ever artwork they happen to make! :0 I don't mind at all! :}
But if you're wanting to show your appreciation for me/my artwork, don't draw something specifically for that- comments/asks/reblogs are all I want please <:}
As for the horse thing.. you know what time it is?
✨FACTUAL'S RARE VAGUE STORYTIME!!✨
Ok so when I was very smol me and a friend of mine went out into a field that had one big black horse in it.
The horse was allll the way across the field just minding his own business so I figured he probably wouldn't bother us.
Now this field had a pond and a HUGE WALL of blackberries that divided the field in two. Me and my buddy wanted to go to the other side of the pond and explore.. but the literal only way to get there was to carefully trudge through this narrow path that was formed in the blackberry bush wall.
So up we went. Slooowly stepping through this narrow path.. stomping down the protruding spiny blackberry vines and carefully pushing them out of the way with our bare hands. I think we were wearing shorts and sneakers which just added to our slowness and carefulness.
Now picture this, we're almost at the top. There was probably about 2-3 meters left to go before we were finally through the blackberries.. then we hear..
We turn around and the black horse was running up the path towards us. Keep in mind that we were very small, and this very much larger than us, horse was not stopping. He was absolutely going to mow us over.
"thumpthumpthumpTHUMPTHUMPTHUMP"
We. freaked. out.
We scrambled as fast as we could up the rest of the path, tripping in the blackberries and getting cut, screaming all the way-
We made it through just in time and stood flat to the fence. The horse made it through right after us and then jumped around and kicked his feet in the air, nearly nailing my friend in the face.
After a moment the horse stops jumpin around and just kinda looks at us. My friend and I have jello legs and are scared out of our skin-
So for several hours, tiny me and my tiny friend slowly wandered around the space behind the pond. Blubbering and shaking the whole time. With this giant black horse just kinda following us around and sniffing us.
We were terrified of this horse, and we wanted to go back to the house asap- but the only way back was through that narrow spiny path. We didn't want to risk the horse chasing us again..
Eventually an adult came looking for us and was calling out our names. The horse got spooked by them and ran through the path and back out into the field. The adult came up and escorted us through the berries and back to the house.
So anyways, since that day I have learned that horses are way more scared of you than you are of them. All you gotta do is wave your arms around and scream and they'll run. But even so, I don't go out in the field without the scary adult or horse expert by my side. And I'll only feed or pet them through the fence. I am just forever spooked by horses <XD
We found out later that the horse was just playing. Seeing us and running up to greet us and to jump and play! Only for us to be completely spooked and not really engage with him. Causing the horse to kinda sniff us and follow us around like "?? :0 Play? Hm?? <:0 What happen? (Sniff sniff) We're having fun? Play..?? Why not look at me...? So slow..??🤨"

The Cat's Meow // Lando Norris
Tumblr media
You would never be used to this. The fans and photographers and journalists snapping photos of you just because you walked in next to your boyfriend. Your hand linked with his, a smile graced your face as you enjoyed the feeling of a beautiful spring day in Baku with the man you loved and ignored the cameras as best you could.
Lando chattered away about your dinner plans, excited to meet up with his friends around the grid, while the general noise of race-day enveloped you as the two of you made your way to the McLaren motorhome.
Your head snapped up as the indistinguishable conversation and random shouts from media members to look their way were cut through by a high pitched squeak, “did you hear that?”
Lando paused while describing the club you would be going to later tonight, “hear what?”
Another squeak.
“That,” you stopped in the middle of the pathway and listened. It was coming from a grassy area covered with little bushes just beyond the fence.
You grabbed your boyfriend’s hand and dragged him with you as you found the nearest gate and waited for the security guard to let you past. You followed the squeaks to an era of low shrubs and knelt down to look between them.
“Oh my god!”
“What is it?” Lando squatted down and tried to peak over your shoulder.
You stared at the little balls of fluff still too young to properly open their eyes, “they’re newborn kittens!”
“Y/N … you know we can’t.”
You moved to get a better view and teared up at the sight of the cat laying behind the kittens, limp and stained with blood. She clearly didn’t make it through the birth. “But their mother’s dead,” your voice wavered as you tried to hold back tears.
“Love, there’s nowhere we can-“
You finally burst into tears, overcome with the thought of the innocent babies in front of you not making it, “they’ll die if someone doesn’t take them. They’re so small.”
“Okay-okay. Don’t cry,” Lando soothed you. “Just give me a minute.” He ran back towards the paddock as you took off your cardigan and carefully wrapped the kittens in it to keep them warm.
Soon enough, Lando returned and joined you on the slightly damp grass. He placed the cardboard box stuffed with a few papaya t-shirts to line it that he brought back in front of you and you slowly moved the kitten-filled cardigan into it.
“There’s three of them.”
You wiped your eyes, “I’m not giving them up. They need us.”
“I know, love. You’re so caring. It’s why I fell for you in the first place.”
“Thank you, Lan. I need milk and a dropper for now until I can run out and get them proper formula after the race.”
He helped you up and led you toward the motorhome again, “there’s milk in my driver’s room and we can stop by the medical center to see if they have a dropper we can use.”
“I love you.”
“I love you too. Even when you decide to randomly adopt three kittens during a Grand Prix.”
You were so lucky.
