hell yeah have fun! And make sure to leave space on the edges of ur patches so you can hem them.

Imagine like a One cm thick border around the edge of the patch and keep it blank there. Then when sewing, so you can fold the edge under your patch. This prevents the edges of the fabric from fraying and falling apart.

Another hack is instead of sewing thread try use other things then thread to sew. For example a lot of people use dental floss for its sturdiness, and for the fact you can melt it to help tie it in place.

I personally use embroidery floss for fun colours and for its thick lines. Floss is made of like 9 threads all together instead of one so is stronger too. I enjoy the more cartoony bold look of it compared to thread.

my pink patch pants were mainly done in thread and she has broken stitches everywhere while my embroidery floss has never failed me yet.

Good luck with your pants and have fun! Safety pins are your friend, try safety pin a patch and then wear the pants to see if it looks good while being worn as well. oh and make sure to put something inside the leg of the pants so you dont sew through to the otherside. Sometimes i just sew the patch onto the pants while wearing them if im having trouble getting it right.
