Thank you for watching Digimon Ghost Game episode 41! My section starts with BettleGammamon kicking off a wall to dodge FlaWizardmon’s attack, and ends when Piedmon flips his second card. Longer thoughts after the cut, but for now thank you all for the support, I will continue to try my best.

I actually started writing a whole list of everything that I don’t like about my cuts but god what a pointless exercise haha. I think I can sum it up a bit better.

I struggle a lot with FX animation and really high or low camera angles, and almost all my sections had those so it was very rough. It involved a lot of trial and error, which wasted time which meant I couldn’t dedicate enough time to the last few cuts I did, it was pretty brutal. Specially that long cut where Piedmon explains what the light arrows do. I saw the storyboard and was like “that’s fine, I can leave that for later” but it being an almost 18 seconds cut with such a detailed character meant that I had a lot of empty air to fill and filling it was going to be hard, specially since I’m trying to stop my habit of leaving too much blank space for the in-between team to figure out on their own. I have no line of communication to them outside of my drawings so I’m trying my best to lay as much info as possible without it becoming an insurmountable task for me.

I can only call my work for this episode “competent”. I don’t think it’s anything super spectacular, it doesn’t stand out much across the episode, specially seeing Yoshiyama’s absolutely outstanding (as always) work in the final part of the episode. I’m gonna keep doing my best effort to really bring these characters to life. It’s a fun show and I love working on it, so I’m constantly trying to show my love through my tablet pen.

Angoramon holds and shields Ruri from falling rocks, before she pushes his hand away and leaves as she yells “Enough!”

Ruri skids and lands on the cliff, and says “I don’t care about this stupid loop!” A large rock falls toward her, and Angoramon yells out her name as he headbutts it and knocks it away, then lands behind her to further protect her.

Ruri continues and says “It’s way too annoying. I’m so done.” Thinking she’s giving up, Angoramon says “Don’t say that, we have to try.” Ruri turns to him and says “But there’s no point in running, right?”

Angoramon flinches in realization, as Ruri stares at him with determination on her face. The shadow of another large incoming rock covers her, but she doesn’t flinch. Angoramon catches it at the last second before it crushes her. Ruri still doesn't flinch or budge, fully trusting that he'll protect her.

Ruri walks over directly beside Angoramon and he shoves the rock away. He says “You have a point, Ruri.” as she smiles at him, and they both look straight ahead and Ruri declares “Then it’s decided!” End ID]
