Kiki the Snake! Hi! Fair warning ahead because you probably don't know that yet, I always think hehe easy question, short and sweet answer, and then I ramble on forever in the answers and/or the tags because in writing, I'm incapable of shutting the fuck up.

2. do you prefer spending your holidays in your country or travel abroad?

I'd love to travel abroad more to go visit friends and acquaintances and have them just show me their towns and countries and point at stuff at every corner and go "and this is where we hid after pre-school when we didn't want to go home, and this house has five cats, and here used to be grass only but now they've built houses there, and this is where I thought trying [x stupid thing] would be a good idea". Austria definitely also has it's nice sides and spots; two summers ago, I joined my sister and her friend for a few days when they travelled around Austria and that was really nice, and visiting friends who moved to Vienna is great too 🥰 but otherwise, I'm going to try to find a job and save up money to use to travel around a bit next summer, visit friends across Europe and whatnot, get out of my eventually-it-gets-boring area and the rather small town I study in. If you want to look at castles and go hiking though, by all means, come to Austria, you'll love it here.

5. favourite song in your native language?

well another fair warning, I'm an indecisive bitch tm so.

Currently I love Kommst du mit? ("Are you coming along?") by Liedfett a lot, especially the line "Hauptsache du hast Spaß und schenkst anderen Menschen Licht" ("what's most important is that you're having fun and making other people's lives brighter"). I saw them live recently and knew that song and one other one, and it was still really fun, they're very entertaining, they talk a lot of weird stuff and just go with it, and they're very explicitly anti-right-wing parties and people and bands and routinely make fun of such bands and their fans and make it clear that they're not welcome at their concerts.

And as I said, indecisive, so Anständige Frau ("Proper Woman/Lady") by Mandelkokainschnaps also has to go here. It's basically them quoting shitty stuff people and especially men say about how women should dress and behave and make fun of it and tell them to fuck off. It also features a rapper with whom the singer (amazing voice btw, I'm love) has a duett in which he first sings "your body, my rules" at her and then it morphes into her singing "my body, my rules" and I was absolutely in love with how they did that from the first time I heard that. Other songs by MKS that I love: almost all of them, they don't have many yet. Bunt ("colourful", a Pride song); Janüscht (uuh.. basically the only thing you have to do in life is live your life the way you want to); Taub ("Deaf", telling right-wingers and racists to fuck off).

Honorable mentions: Deutsche Bahn ("German Railway company") by Wise Guys just because it's so fucking funny to see them make fun of everything that's wrong with the DB while knowing at least one person for each of the things (cow on tracks, heating broken, many many hours late etc pp and so on and so forth).

6. most hated song in your native language?

It's almost 3a.m. and I have to travel tomorrow, let me save this as a draft and come back tomorrow, aka after I've heard the radio in my parents' kitchen and will have many many suggestions for this one.

Oh I forgot this was in my drafts, oops. I'm back now.

Anyway. There's probably lots of songs I can't stand, especially if the moderators of every radio station ever think ohohooooo time to play the same boring songs with questionable or don't-say-anything lyrics five hundred thousand times an hour!! So, one of them has to be Atemlos by Helene Fischer. Really fucking annoying and for a while, every dj at any kind of event ever thought it'd be fun to play. Also, not on the radio I think but a friend showed it to me some time ago (to complain) - Liebe Leben by Andreas Gabalier. That guy is generally questionable at best and this song is so fucking stupid because suddenly he's pretending to care about queer people which He Does Not and then says "whether it is a man and a woman, or a man and a man, or two girls" like ?????? Call adult women women or call adult men boys, too, take your pick.

15. a saying, joke, or hermetic meme that only people from your country will get?

Uuuh I thought about this for a bit but I can't really come up with anything, sorry.

There are two words that are pretty unique to the area I'm from - "gsi" ("was" like "I was outside"; Gsiberger = people that live in my area) and "ghörig" (I.... it's like. A ghörige Portion is a large serving of food, an ghöriga Funka is a good, nice bonfire-to-kick-out-winter that was well built and burnt down well, "wenn scho, denn ghörig" = if you bother to do something, you have to do it well/properly.

26. does your nationality get portrayed in Hollywood/American media? what do you think about the portrayal?

Uuh.. I'm not really sure. I mean there's Sound of Silence but I've never seen that, and otherwise I guess we're not really portrayed that much? I think usually they just use Germany and make them villains.
