Thinking about these two again

i wonder what touch between ruth and debbie was like pre-glow. not even pre-revelation with the homewrecking because debbie following ruth into that ring feels like an outlier in terms of the way she treats her both in and out of that space after they both get hired. but before they became wrestlers. fighting ruth for the show was learned, rehearsed, trained into debbie. when they weren't on camera beating the shit out of each other, there was hardly any touch involved. debbie wouldn't come near ruth unless she had to, and that was rarely at all. they got comfortable with each other again over the course of the actual show itself, but that's slow, different, new. debbie can't bring herself to hug ruth in the real way, not a lock into position before executing a move, until the end of the show before that final betrayal.
so what's it like before all that? not even "what's their relationship like?" because i think at the end of the day, if we had more than what the show gave us to work with in terms of their past, there'd always be a point of conflict, comparison, competition. but what's touch like? did ruth and debbie hug often, or was the first one in the show as much a rare exception as the last one? did they punch one another playfully on the shoulder, link arms with one another when walking around, nudge one another with elbows or knees to gain attention? did they pluck stray hairs off each other's clothes, swipe food away from each other's faces, pick eyelashes off each other's cheeks? did they high five, pinky swear, arm wrestle? was it easy? was it instinctive? was it lost? whatever the contact was like, it must've been softer. it wouldn't get stronger until after.

it's been... how many years since debbie eagan told ruth wilder that she was going to build an eden for them?... still not over it.
cause, like... there was going to be another season- and i know that i live in betty gilpin's version of glow where ruth and debbie had been in love for the entirety of it, so that may not have been at all what the writers were actually going with moving forward with the show... but I still need to know what the fuck happened after ruth got on that plane. That was not meant to be the ending of their story, and it will just annoy me forever.
Did Ruth ever get tp play the role she wanted? did she give up on it? did she end up working things out with debbie and figuring shit out together? did she stay with sam? WERE EITHER OF THEM HAPPY AT THE END? I need to know these things. Is debbie going to spend the rest of her life wondering what would've happened if things hadn't gotten so wrong with each other?

Finally got around to watching GLOW... 3 seasons in 3 days... and fuuuuuuu...uck I hate that there's no conclusion, that season 4 never happened... I want Bash to come out and be happy... I want the girls to have their new show... I want Justine's movie to be a success and I need Ruth and Debbie to realize what they mean to each other... why can't we have nice things?

do you ever think about how the glow storyline starts w debbie deeply resenting and blaming ruth for the misfortune in her life and sam capitalizing off of that and having ruth literally play the villain of debbie’s story (liberty belle vs zoya) and how in one of their last matches together debbie lets ruth play liberty belle. liberty belle was her freedom, it was her escape from the role society expected her to play as a woman and as a mother. do you ever think about how personal that was? it was like debbie giving ruth her heart. it was debbie letting ruth know she forgave her. really and truly meant it too. debbie made ruth a villain and she made her a hero too.

for the askthing: debbie vs. ruth
Debbie.
For all Ruth's scrappy energy, Debbie has height, weight and strength advantage, and she has a killer instinct that Ruth lacks.
I don't know that Ruth could ever really physically hurt Debbie, whereas we know for sure that the oppposite isn't true.
