In an alternate universe, I would love to see them living life happily in each other’s company. Their bond was so strong, thicker than blood, that no scheme can ever break them apart—and not even death. Ruyi may have died early but their hearts will always be connected to one another.
Hailan: Sister, the man you love may one day abandon you for another woman. The child you adored might use you for his own gain… Everything I do is for you. [Episode 41]
Ruyi: Within these red walls, when I was chilled to the bones, the one who gave me warmth was you and… You and I have accompanied each other for years. [Episode 79]
If this ain’t pure and genuine love then I don’t know what is. *crying hysterically*
I don't have the gifset creation skills to break my own heart, but the scene where ruyi and yuanzhou are talking about the lives they'll all lead when everything is over starts around 11:40 in episode 21
My thoughts: [TV series] Why did Zhen Huan give Qing Ying the name of Ruyi?
This was just a thought I’ve been pondering on after rewatching “Ruyi’s Royal Love in the Palace” for countless times.
Though, in the series, Zhen Huan gave Qing Ying the name of Ruyi because of what the latter’s heart deeply desires—deep affection and mutual commitment—and also to serve as a warning to remain ‘quiet’ and not harbor ill intentions or ambitions.
I think another reason could be that Qing Ying was chosen to be the di fujin and was supposed to receive a ceremonial sceptre or ruyi.
Qing Ying may have been given the name of Ruyi as a reminder also to Fuca Langhua and the other concubines that she was the emperor’s choice for a wife. And for that fact, Qing Ying will always have a special place not only in the Harem but also in his heart. [It was like adding fuel to the fire, but in their case, jealousy.] The dowager may have wanted to remind Langhua to be always on her utmost behavior and be filial, and to do her best to win the emperor’s heart. It was evident in the series that that fact has always been a thorn in Langhua’s life—even if she’s gotten the highest rank and the legitimacy as a wife, there will always be someone her husband loves more than her.
