ambrose making another disposition again, the only thing why it didn't annoyed me that much bc it was ambrose

there is no evil sabrina apparently, kinda annoying since it was heavily teased in the prev season but it seems that they only made two sabrinas just to trigger something bad

          archie  is  a  bit  of  a   HOPELESS  ROMANTIC,   but  it’s  in  the  sense  that,   while  he’s  still  young   &   immature,   he’ll  fall  for  those  he  lusts  for,   regardless  of  emotional  attachment   /   raw,   genuine  feelings.   

         it’s  what  gets  him  involved  in  the  lot  of  his  high  school   ‘   relationships   ’   (   grundy,   val,   &   even  ronnie  to  an  extent   !   )   ...   &   while  i  don’t  think  this  invalidates  these  relationships   (   minus  grundy  bc   ...   it’s  gross,   it’s  not  considered  a  relationship,   it’s  never  been  valid.   it’s  fucked,   he  was  literally  manipulated,   &   it  was  so  mentally  draining  for  him,   i  could  go  on  for   HOURS.   but   ...   rvrdale  just  brushed  it  under  the  rug,   bc  that’s  what  they  do   !   ),   i  think  it   DOES   show  the  fine  line  between  who  he  is   vs   who  he’s  becoming.

         without  realizing  it,   he  allows  himself  to  confuse  these  feelings  with   LOVE,   which  in  turn  makes  his  emotions  seem  rather  fickle.   it’s  the  main  reason  why  he’s  so  quick  to  say  i  love  you,   ---   because  he   GENUINELY   believes  he’s  in  love.   as  he  grows  up,   however,   he’ll  begin  to  realize  the  importance  of  love  over  lust,   learning  to  differentiate  the  two   &   thus  give  himself  the  relationships  he  truly  needs   !

amelia you hit the nail on the head! i love both rvrdale ships for different reasons but after four seasons of bughead im happy to let barchie shine for now and the rest of the show! i bet we'll only have 3 more seasons anyway and i love both ships so i want both to have screen time. i hate when we fight for it :(

I also love both Barchie and Bughead for different reasons. I’m not some fancy fandom analyst by any means, but I think that both Jughead and Archie represent different times and different emotions for Betty, and its the evolution of her relationships with the both of them that indicate how that’s progressed post-relationship (post-unrequited love for Archie in season 1, and post-romance with Jughead).

But, in saying that, the reason I wrote my post was because it seems as though, when people are fans of only one ship and not the other, instead of focusing on writing analyses about their ship’s relationship there seems to be a greater focus on talking about why the opposing ship is wrong. Or, there’ll be an analysis of one ship, but it always seems to include comparisons to or references to the other to make the other clearly seem worse.

I’ve made a post about this before, but with a far wider context, but I’ll say it again as a general message: ships can co-exist. Barchie isn’t the “be all and end all” of Riverdale, and neither is Bughead. I personally think that its hypocritical to be a Barchie fan and create negativity around Bughead and then become annoyed when Bughead fans clap back about it the same way it’s hypocritical in reverse.

There’s no need to focus on the flaws of one side just to highlight the strengths of the other.
