Feel free to not answer this but I was just wondering....
You have recently been talking about how much working with RT sucks, but you keep announcing projects you've recently done with them since you left the company. Why do you continue to work with them post-leaving?
Or did all of these occur before you left and they are only now coming out?
I’m assuming this isn’t a malicious ask and is just one that is mostly uninformed, so I’ll answer.
Animation, video games, etc take years to make. So there are things I worked on while I was still at Rooster Teeth that have NOT been released yet. That’s just kinda how things work.
Video games and animation take years to make, before you even see an announcement for something a project is likely half finished or more.
Such as: Voicing in BENEATH (came out post me leaving), Script Supervisor/Casting for RWBY: Arrowfell (came out yesterday), Script Supervisor for multiple Death Battle episodes, and Script Supervisor for RWBY 9 and the RWBY/JL stuff.
My work was done in 2020/2021 for RWBY Arrowfell, Beneath, V9, RWBY/JL, and DB. So if you see me credited for something, it was AGES ago that I worked on it.
Also, like I said, they didn’t credit me for my work so I’m kind of pissed off about it, AND it doesn’t even look like they credited the RT Anim 3D Team for any of the work they did on the cutscenes for Arrowfell at all.
Which, AGAIN, is par for the course because they STOPPED CREDITING THE PEOPLE WHO WORK ON RED VS BLUE as of the most recent seasons. Zero and FS were actually the ONLY two seasons to credit folks EVERY EPISODE for that series. Before that RvB didn’t credit properly and now it doesn’t credit AT ALL.
Additionally, I have stated many times that I openly refuse to reprise any roles for any RT series. And yes that includes RWBY and includes me saying “I will never voice May Marigold again”.
I have also mentioned this on my Twitch streams, multiple times, because folks don’t understand that production takes a very very very long time.
I will never, EVER, work on a Rooster Teeth project again. I will never work with any of the management, upper management, or higher ups at that company ever again.
To the folks who are still stuck there, doing the actual real work, being paid next to nothing, not being given proper benefits, and being forced to work long hours without any overtime pay, I say this:
I hope you find a new job soon, get out of there soon friends.
To those who were fans, like I was, who really dreamed of working at RT:
It was a nightmare beyond what you see being shared on social media. I mentioned that it was only “SOME” of what I went through, and the stories from others are just what they were comfortable sharing… there’s things we, as people who worked there, just don’t want to talk about because of how traumatic it was.

Since ur a certified strq lover I have to ask what you think Tai’s weapon would be bc I’m writing a strq fic and I’ve still got nothing 💀
personally i just default to no weapons only fists approach bc then i don't have to come up with one skdgsjh. . . but i've also dabbled in giving him a bow bc he has that wrist guard thingy (which i'm pretty sure guards the wrong side of his arm for a bow but eh. Details™.) and before v9 also a rifle or an axe but. sundered rose happened. so that's out lmao
he's difficult to make a weapon for that makes sense and also isn't just yang 2.0, so i tend to lean towards hand-to-hand combat and a long range-ish weapon that's easy to "stash" away (or use as a melee weapon) while switching between close range and long range, if that makes sense?

kiersi burkhart (one of the RWBY writers) did an AMA on twitter and this was one of the 'gems' she dropped (in response to a question asking about FNKI's fate and what her opinion was about cinder)
FNKI are fine! Cinder learns and grows (for better or worse) and I like characters who can develop past their mistakes and get better at achieving their goals.
i don't even know where to start but. lol. lmao. roflmao.
I really wish we'd stop getting significant canonical information from interviews and livestreams. I know a lot of fans would disagree that the fate of FNKI is "significant," but the entire moral point of Volume 8 was for the team to save everyone when Ironwood was willing to cut his loses... and then the story failed to show us that the girls actually saved everyone. Putting aside the lives that were lost due to them forgetting about Cinder and being unprepared for her attack, as well as her throwaway comment about the number of people who got out which - while I don't remember the exact quote - definitely wasn't the population of two cities that size, Ironwood's army was a symbol of the corruption RWBY was trying (and imo mostly failing) to write about, as well as the complicated nature of being a huntsmen in this world. FNKI's status as beloved side characters fighting on Ironwood's behalf of their own free will directly contradicts the simplistic narrative that every soldier/ally of his is inherently the bad guy. With that contradiction on the table, their fate is the primary means by which we read the story's moral stance. Do they survive, highlighting a level of nuance to this ethical dilemma that RWBY will never engage with, or do they die, conveying the message that yes, those who support Ironwood/militarism are the Bad Guys and will be punished for that sin, regardless of whether you liked them as characters?
Leaving their fate uncertain and throwing out a casual "[they're] fine!" shows a massive disinterest in the supposed themes of the Volume. Are the viewers supposed to care about the heroes saving "everyone" or not? Because "everyone" doesn't include a big-ass army, the two allies left on Amity, and our protagonist's own uncle. We can headcanon all we want that of course the team cares about Qrow, Maria, Pietro, FNKI, even the Ace Ops, but if you're inclined to read the series through what's actually canonical, they come off looking entirely indifferent to their fates -- likewise highlighting how the story is indifferent to its own moral questions. Is it actually important to show the girls saving everyone to separate them cleanly from Ironwood? Apparently not because the fate of not just a large number of characters, but established and liked characters, is left ambiguous to the point where fans need to ask for clarification years later.
As for the Cinder comments... well, Cinder has been a lost writing cause for a while now, huh? Apparently we've already forgotten that her supposed epiphany was a sham and Cinder ended the Volume doing exactly what she's done since Volume 4: backstabbing her allies in an attempt to gain personal power. She hasn't developed past her mistakes! She very explicitly repeated them!! The fact that this time it got her what she wanted is a matter of luck. Now that Cinder is right back to where she started post-Beacon (no more Neo on her side, no more Watts, no more Emerald, no Relics for personal use, underneath Salem's thumb) we should expect her to do just as badly as she has in the past. What even are Cinder's goals? Power, sure, but the story has failed to articulate how making SALEM more powerful - you know, the immortal witch who is abusing Cinder and has control of her via a grimm arm - is helping Cinder on her personal quest to not, you know, be in the exact position she's currently in.
If there was a plan for Cinder based on what Volumes 7 and 8 gave us I'd expect a comment about how Cinder is deluding herself and, in an effort to avoid it, has unknowingly trapped herself in precisely the sort of relationship she's been looking to avoid most of her life. Local villain is so desperate not to become a victim again that she unwittingly becomes a victim to an even more powerful, sadistic abuser than the Madame. That's an interesting character! ... but RWBY has only engaged with her on the most surface level, leaving any true work to unpack Cinder's predicament to the fans. Honestly, comments like these sound too generic to be meaningful. Like they don't have anything to say about Cinder because they don't know what they're doing with her anymore, so they toss out some writing words like "development" and "goals" and "mistakes." All good characters have those things, yeah?

Vexed Viewer just hit a new low. He made a video insulting Kiersi Burkhart (one of RWBY’s writers) for saying in a twitter AMA that Cinder experienced (clearly negative, as per her own admission of “for better or for worse”) growth and change as a character. In addition to making a mean-spirited gotcha towards her, he didn’t ask her for permission to share her twitter information in the video. You can get sued for that. I really hope someone tells her about this, and that she decides to press charges on that asshole, or at the very least report his twitter account and/or YouTube channel.
Do people STILL think Vexed Viewer is not a misogynist?
Over 50% of his channel is dedicated to insulting women.
His most popular videos and tweets are about hating fictional women.
And he's transphobic.
Then again? He IS a hardcore blacksun shipper and adam taurus lover, so it makes sense that misogynistic men and women love him.
In the meantime, use this.

"RWBY": The Captivating YA Animated Series
Tumblr media
Yang, Penny, Weiss, and Blake at the end of Volume 8
Last year, when looking for another animated series to watch, I came across RWBY, a young adult animation, and one of Rooster Teeth's flagship series. While I wasn't sure about it at first, as I watched all eight seasons, I became invested in the characters, especially the protagonists, and a fan of the show itself.
Reprinted from The Geekiary, History Hermann WordPress blog, and Wayback Machine. This was the fourth article I wrote for The Geekiary. Before this got published, they said I would be kicked off the publication if I don't start writing, if I remember right. So, I started writing this post and many others. This post was originally published on October 8, 2021.
RWBY is the brainchild of the late Monty Oum. It is known for its captivating stories and a theme song, sung by Casey Lee Williams, which begins every episode, foreshadowing what happens in the season/volume. Although the series has the classic conflict of good vs. evil, there are well-developed characters with intricate storylines, elements of horror, and good character development. Some characters are even morally grey, like General James Ironwood or the Ace Ops. Other villains, such as Cinder Fall, don't want to strictly follow their leader.
Tumblr media
Ruby in Volume 9 preview
The anime-inspired series is named after the four main protagonists: Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long. They stand against villains, such as Salem and her enforcers, like Cinder, Arthur Watts, Neopolitan, Tyrian Callows, Mercury Black, and the Grimm monsters. On the other hand, Ozma/Ozpin/Oscar Pine, Lie Ren, Nora Valkyrie, Qrow Branwen, Robyn Hill, and Jaune Arc, among others, help Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang fight against the forces of evil.
The show is clearly mature as it features its share of blood and gore, and the death of some characters, with the antagonist, Salem, even engaging in human experimentation. On the other hand, this science fantasy/adventure/action series has a large focus on magic, and sci-fi elements like the cyborg girl, Penny Polendina, and scrolls which can receive and record messages. Each of the protagonists, like those on RWBY, have a semblance which derives from their aura, helping them battle against the Grimm and other villains, either including powers such as object manipulation, disorienting people, or super strength.
I don't want to give away too much of the plot but I will say that the show features various supporting LGBTQ characters. In Volume 6, Saphron and Terra-Arc, a lesbian couple with a son named Adrian, as confirmed by Lindsay Jones, the voice of Ruby, who the protagonists, and their friends, stay with on their journey to another kingdom. Additionally, in the Volume 5 episode "Alone Together," Ilia Amitola confessed her romantic feelings to Blake, and was later confirmed by show writer Miles Luna as a lesbian in a Reddit AMA.
Most prominently is May Marigold, a trans woman. Unlike other trans characters in animation, she is voiced by a trans female voice actress, Kdin Jenzen, and her character came out as trans in the Volume 8 episode "War," which she described as "something so wildly powerful & meaningful."
Tumblr media
LGBTQ characters in RWBY so far
There is a lot about the series which is wonderful. There is a strong possibility of confirmed LGBTQ representation in the main cast, especially since the voice actress for Blake, Arryn Zech, confirmed her character as bisexual in May 2020, and some even have argued that the shipping between Blake and Yang, known as Bumbleby, will come become canon in the show's next volume.
Even if this doesn't happen, the show is still powerful, from its music to the characters, the voice acting to the visuals, which have improved from the earliest seasons to the present-day. Although the fandom may be toxic at times, the show is unique in its colorful ship names, especially the femslash ones, like Baked Alaska (Yang and Neopolitan), Blood Mint (Ruby and Emerald Sustrai), Freezerburn (Yang and Weiss), Ladybug (Ruby and Blake), or White Rose (Ruby and Weiss) to name a few.
So, if you haven't seen RWBY yet, whether on VRV, Crunchyroll, Amazon Prime (in some locations), YouTube Movies (for purchase/rent), or on the RoosterTeeth website, now is the perfect time during the show's hiatus, before Volume 9 begins again sometime in 2022.

I wanted to say thank you for the likes and reblogs of my posts.
I enjoy May Marigold as one of the rare examples of Positive Trans Rep in media, and I hope to see you voice her character again in near future.
Thank you for being a shining beacon of Positive Representation in the LGBT Community!
We love and appreciate you Kdin! You're awesome.
Legitimately needed to hear that...
Sometimes it's easy for me to forget that fact because of all the drama that surrounded her announcement of being trans, and her coming out in the show, and everything that happened around those things.
I do my best, I try my hardest, and I hope what I do has helped anyone out there at least a little bit, even if it's just making that single moment in time better.
Anyway, thank you. I really do appreciate it.

Which of the Relics interested you most, or was just plain your fave? The Crown of Choice, Scepter of Creation, Sword of Destruction, or Lamp of Knowledge?
I mean the untapped potential and tease of Ambrosius meeting Pietro to bring back Penny for a third time lucky is too much to ignore..... Because she saw the world through better eyes damn it and a Remnant without her is barely worth having.

Miles Luna's behavior as a writer will never not baffle me.
In all his years of being in charge of RWBY, he has still not yet gripped that audiences aren't dumb sheep, and will not only spot bullshit he pulls but then will not believe him when he tries to handwave it by saying "oh no it actually wasn't that".
This is just that bullshit AMA from Reddit all over again. He's always doing this crap.
