It was made for JumpinJammies, and it was her funny idea too! I'll always be grateful to her and my other friends who were willing to start paying me for my drawings... It really boosted my confidence back then <3

So I've been glancing at that drawing for a couple of years now, feeling a strong desire to draw Sienna in this silly sweater again. Which I finally did these winter holidays. And I made her stripes a bit differently, since after this drawing we learned a little more about them.

What type of faunus do you think Weiss would be

Personally, when I do think about Weiss being a faunus, I love making it ambiguous as to what kind.

The subtlety of where only if you are paying attention do you notice she doesn't seem bothered by fighting at night. And that she squints more during the day. That she always filed her nails in class but then takes to wearing gloves later... That she doesn't know either, but it isn't as if she can just ask around.

Anyway, I also like other people headcanons of fox, swan, white lion, shark, etc etc.

Ruby after hearing the word she dreaded the most. Decided to escape through her window. But when she opens the window and sticks her neck out. Her neck is suddenly grabbed by a catcher pole from seemingly out off nowhere.

Summer: I knew you would try to escape from here. Oh Ruby, try to at least be more creative with your escape attempt. 😔

Ruby: Mom please don't sent me to the Vet. I'm not even sick. 😷

Summer: No can do Ruby. You know that an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure. 😌

Yang: Hey mom, did you catch her?

Summer: I got her. Tell Tai to warm up the engine. We are going to the Vet. 😇

Defeated Ruby slowly leaves her room in and get into the family's car. Along the way she didn't say anything even when she finally arrive at the hospital.

The Example.

One thing that always gets me about Blake is that she doesn't know how to build these bridges between Humans and Faunus yet she is so perfectly the example

Her Leader is Human, her partner-partner is Human.

And most importantly Weiss, a girl who should hate Blake on the bare bones basis of the fact she has cat ears. Weiss, whose family is so deeply responsible for her people's pain. Weiss, who has every justified reason to hate Blake for being part of the White Fang.

And Blake, who should equally hate Weiss. She's a Schnee, she said so many hateful things before she knew Blake was a Faunus, she endured hearing her people be put down over and over by someone who called her a friend but would hate her if they knew.

Blake and to a large extent Weiss are the perfect example of change, of those first steps to widespread acceptance. Eventually they'll be 2/4 of the girls who save the world, and that has to count for something.

If Blake and Weiss of all people can get along, so can everyone else.

The World of Remnant short about faunus mentions a few things about what determines the type of faunus born (type = what sort of animal traits a faunus has):

(Human parents: human baby, not really relevant here)

Faunus parent and human parent: faunus baby, the same type of faunus as the faunus parent. That's why a biological Bumbleby baby would be a cat faunus, unless Yang is secretly a different sort of faunus.

Faunus parents: faunus baby. I'll get into what type of faunus below, as it depends on the parents.

If the parents are the same type of faunus the baby is also that type. This is presumably how Kali and Ghira Belladonna had Blake, although Ghira is apparently a panther faunus while Kali is a cat faunus, as is Blake. Maybe the type of faunus that matters is being from the same overall animal family. It's not entirely clear.

If the parents are different types of faunus, then the baby is a random sort of faunus.

What I wondered is this: humans are a type of mammal. Mammals are a type of animal. So surely that means a faunus with human traits could be born to different types of faunus, and not appear to be a faunus at all.

At least there'd be no accusations of cheating with how faunus genetics work, but I can't imagine it'd be an easy life, either on Menagerie surrounded by faunus with mostly obvious traits, or elsewhere with anti faunus racism that could have some pretty terrible consequences that I'd rather not get into.

With human parents having a human baby I said that wasn't really relevant here. But that's not quite the case because if two faunus with human traits got together and either didn't know they were faunus or never told anyone, a seemingly human couple could end up having faunus babies with obviously animal traits.

How do you feel about RT'S rule of having one trait only for faunuses?

Hey!

So if I recall...this condition was created due to limitations for the team, and I don't mind it honestly. They turned a technical limitation into a creative one, and I'm all for character designs like that. You only have ONE animal trait to play with so what will that lead to?? It's fun. Good for exercising your creative muscles.

At times it does make it hard to tell who is what animal depending on which trait they give the person. Initially I couldn't figure out what faunus Adam was cause his lil baby horns are hidden in his hair. His name suggests bull but his horn say baby goat lol. But then it's also like. Comical. Like every time there's been a bunny rabbit it's always ears we see. Why just the ears? What about their tail or some paws? How about different types of ears to imply different types of rabbits? Short ears, one that's crooked, long hare ears, floppa ears.

Something I did like that they did with this was the idea of some faunus hiding their lone trait versus others who didn't. 

In Arrowfell, there's this mouse faunus named Mikado who is initially wanting to hide their ears, but is then encouraged to keep them out in the open. I know we've seen this sort of topic being explored in the main series (blake hiding her ears and velvet choosing not to), and seeing it again in this game was nice. Something that's interesting to explore every now and then.

But yeah my only thing is it would be nice to see different traits called out for an animal type. Like if someone is a bear, one faunus could have their ears, another could have paws or fangs, etc. Just diversify it a bit so it doesn't look copy paste. I don't really hold RT to much standards cause I know they don't have the money, but if they did, this would be my request on that.

So what is your opinion on fanfictions where Blake parnets are swingers. To be clear there no cheating or sercets they tell each other everything. I like the idea because I imagine that the Faunas and the LGBTQ+ have to work together at some point to get rights in Rement instead the creators just saying Homophobia doesn't exist. I love The Idea of open relationships in Faunus Culture! Genuinely, I understand why CRWBY did what they did with the faunus plotline, which doesn't justify it's many failings, just to say I get it.

Scavenger-Faunus that preform ritualistic cannibalism as death rites to further the Cycles of Life, and forever carry a piece of them.

I feel like someone with more extensive Knowledge on Indigenous peoples could write a compelling character around the idea of being Two-Spirit and how that may affect Aura - Because there is literally someone with two souls inside him, so whose to say Oscar's the only one?

Faunus with high rates of intersexism, and ones that naturally transition in Females (Like clownfish) or get more masculine as they age (Like Peahens losing their brown coloration) Faunus that go through Parthenogenesis!

Humans, as a species, have relatively low sexual Dimorphism. The bone structure of Males to Females is next to none, especially when compared to practically any other animal.

Most others have baculum, some males are fucking tiny compared to females like anglerfish.

There is, notably, a difference in ability - Blake has better hearing than her teammates, Ilia can camoflage better than any one else, prehensile tails are useful.

It was never going to be a perfect allegory for real world things when there was notable differences in functional biological endeavours - to the point where Splatoon did racism better the RWBY.

So embrace that Difference.

Show me how the differences between cultures based on how their physical traits and their environs.

Courting rituals that involve finding and retrieving certain foods to prove that you love someone enough to endanger yourself for their happiness, sports that can only be done with Claws or Fangs, dances that need the dancer to have a prehensile tail.

The limits are near boundless. It all depends on your knowledge, Imagination, and Confidence.

So yeah. I like the Idea of Faunus working with LGBTQ+.

And also the Idea that Ghira and Kali are Swingers, whether or not that comes from their 'original' culture,or if they're just like that.

Baby and the Bees: the Belladonnas

Several days after Yang and Ruby found a little Faunus baby in the desert and brought her home. Blake has gone full mother panther mode. Weiss is a helicopter aunt. Ruby is the fun aunt. And Yang has somehow managed to become even more of a lesbian disaster.

Blake: *humming a tune while holding the baby and rocking side to side*

Baby: *coos and looks up at Blake's ears*

Blake: *tilts head and slicks her ears back*

Baby: *slicks ears back*

Blake: *raises one ear*

Baby: *raises one ear with some difficulty but giggles with success*

Yang as a mouse Faunus

Yang Physical trait: Grasshopper Mouse teeth. Can also howl like one. (yes... howl).

Yang nonphysical traits: Has developed a diet almost exclusively made of instinct and arachnids. Incorporates meat from time to time. Builds a nest out of any raw material when her heat's about to hit.

Yang: Wakes up with an intense need to build a nest. Knows that it's that time of the year and that as long as she doesn't cause any property damage, she should indulge in her instincts.

Yang: "Well, it took several hours, but this is my best one yet. I'm sure that the Nurse's office won't notice all those gauze rolls missing."

Yang's nest was made from a combination of rope, sheets, gauze, and clothing, and the best part being no property was damaged as everything was still in one piece.

Yang: Hands on hips. "Yep. Now I just need to sleep in there until it's all over... in a few days."

Jaune: Pops his head in and see's Yang. "Hey Yang, have you seen my hoodie by any chance? It went missing from the laundry."

Yang: Turns around without saying anything and has a strained smile. "Nope, can't say-" Loses her inner battle and grabs Jaune, pulling him toward her nest

Jaune: "Wait Yang! Stop it!" Tries desperately to grab hold of something

Yang: "Oh no lover boy, you and I are going to have a wonderful time" Lets out a howl.
