Weiss: So even More of a stall fest! Why doesn't Penny send in Rotom! It should have a super effective move for Toxapex, is immune to Toxic Spikes with Levitate, and is pretty much useful against the other two!

TOP 10 FANDOMS FOR CROSSOVERS ON FANFICTION.NET BASED ON NUMBER OF FANFICTION (1999-2022)

To make this bar chart race, all series titles in the Crossovers section and the Crossover entries in the regular Misc section on November 29 (or the closest date to it) of every year were copy-pasted from Wayback Machine to Google Sheets, rearranged according to number of fanworks, and then inputted to Flourish to turn into a bar chart race.

In March 27 2009, FFN launched support for crossover fanfiction. Before this date, authors either posted their crossovers in just one category and noted that it was a crossover in its summary, or posted them in one of the generic crossover categories in the Misc. section (such as X-overs, or Cartoons X-overs). There wasn’t a filter to screen all crossovers of specific fandoms back then.

Originally, the fanfiction list was sorted alphabetically, but was changed to number of fics at around early 2013.

Interestingly enough, the crossover sections don’t seem to be suffering from a total fanfiction discrepancy, unlike the sections for non-crossover fanfiction.

Ruby sighed as she sat up in her dorm room bed, half her face noticeably wet. A light snickering was heard off the side of the bed on the nearby bookshelf below her hanging bed. Ruby rolled over on her bed and looked down to where the sound was coming from. Her little Zorua sat on top of the small bookshelf, laughing to herself at another successful prank.

"Yes... She does. As well as knock things over, lay on my face trying to suffocate me, and even put my hand in warm water one time!"

Ruby's Zorua only responded with more mischievous laughter.

Beginning of a new tale~

Not even before opening her eyes, she could tell something wasn't just right.

Her body ached many times over and was content with laying down in the grass, but her mind could not be kept asleep.

Upon sight, her world, or what she thought was hers, shook around her.

Hand going toward her beating head, she needed to find her team. She had to make sure they're safe.

"Yang!...Weiss!...Blake!"

She called to them in the distance yet she heard nothing.

She was just with them, wasn't she? In Atlas, they were...

What were they doing?

And how did they get here???

Atlas was cold and snowy, suiting for it's leader.

However, Ruby woke up in soft grass. Perhaps they were in Mantle or Vale?

But how?

She needed to find anyone, anyone that could give her answers.

"Uncle Qrow! Jaune! Oscar! Where are you?!"

Faintly, she could hear a noise. She grabbed for her weapon on instinct but found it wasn't there. On top of her teammates being gone, Crescent Rose too???

Upon listening closer, it sounded vaguely like Zwei, her family's pet.

There's a dog here! Which means people!

She walked toward the noise, but instead of a dog, she found a yipping Yamper that leapt toward her.

She caught it in her arms, laughing thanks to its licks, but once she looked it at further, she realized that no dog she ever seen looked like this.

"Hi buddy! You're...unusual, but hey I like unusual!"

The yamper stared at her with no thoughts in his head and a blank stare.

Ruby sighed fondly and let him lay in her lap.

She was still confused. Still afraid, still searching.

But she found something.

She has to take any victories she can, and move forward.
