I think RWBY characters deserve to be beefier

Just counting the titular RWBY, we've got:

Swings massive weapon like it's nothing. Also her gun has enough recoil to slow her fall through the air, but when sniping she barely moves (Ruby)

Her body is her weapon (Yang)

Swings teammates around on a ribbon like it's nothing (Blake)

The only person you could argue shouldn't be beefed up is Weiss and, well, she carries the whole team though doesn't she?

I see you have Witch of Void in your pinned, may I interest you in the Homestuck/RWBY crossover fic I’m planning 👀 and what classpect do you think Neo would be, I feel like she’s a Thief of Space

It's been so so SO long since I last checked Homestuck, though, like, literal YEARS...the Witch of Void thing is there for nostalgia's sake more than anything, so I doubt I'm up-to-date if they explained the classpects even better (aside of those classpect and Prospit/Derse official quizzes that came out some time ago)

Now, iirc a Thief of Space would be more related to stealing something that already exists OR, stealing space (?) which, I would say Neo is actually more on the side of creation, related to her Semblance in canon (because well, Semblances are the manifestation of the soul!) so I think something related to the creation of things would be more fitting than the stealing of space or things that are already there (maybe something like this would fit Roman more, seeing that initially, his Semblance was gonna be what they ended up giving to Fiona Thyme instead, so, going back to that...) Then again, from what I remember (it's been years so my mind may be blurry) the only person I remember creating something from zero and from their imagination was Roxy Lalonde as a Rogue of Void, which makes someone believe that someone who can manipulate the Void aspect can directly create something from the nothingness, so maybe she would ironically end up somewhere with a Void aspect (dunno the class, but I think Maids were more related to the aspect directly too?), Witch of Void (lmao) was supposedly pretty OP in that aspect as well, but once again, it's been YEARS since I read anything on classpects, so they may have better options or explanations for information I lacked long ago

No seriously, I gained quite a few followers during my Wenclair Era, and don’t get me wrong I still adore Wenclair to absolute pieces, but RWBY has been a special hyperfixation of mine fer YEARS. It’s been an interest that hibernates on and off during hiatuses but nothing has ever latched onto my psyche so deeply as RWBY has with all of its faults and good parts alike. Once Feb 18 drops, I swear to you I will be the most obnoxious person e v e r like I will be rwbyrotting so hard I will SCREAM and CRY and HOLLER about Bumbleby and Whiterose and my babygirl Ruby finally finally finally getting some fresh hot juicy character development but I’ve missed all of the girls in general and!!! will i ever not be annoyed by how the bird thing has been misconstrued into there being something inherently wrong about it, that that is something raven—let alone qrow—thinks?

no. but i will use that annoyance to talk about what it is about, besides the obvious proof to yang and weiss that magic is real. and it all starts from here:

Raven: [...] By now, your uncle has surely told Ruby and her friends plenty of stories.

Yang: Well, he's never given me a reason to doubt him before.

Raven: That doesn't mean those reasons don't exist.

from the get go, yang's trust in qrow is established as being a strong one, for she has no reason to doubt him. hell, when raven says "that doesn't mean those reasons don't exist", yang glares at her, which is all to say yang doesn't quite believe those reasons exist at all.

Raven: Daddy and Uncle left that part out, hm?

later on, yang and weiss are shocked to find out that raven and qrow were sent to beacon to learn how to kill huntsmen. based on what raven says and yang's complete lack of surprise with the whole bandit thing, it sounds like at some point of time, tai and / or qrow told her about the bandit tribe... they just left something out. surely this is not a big deal at all?

Raven: You said Tai told you all about my Semblance. Well, I doubt he ever told you what Oz did to my brother and me.

...y'all can see the pattern here, right? raven is continuously sprinkling in tiny seeds of doubt, mentioning things that tai and qrow would have told yang... just that it isn't the full story and they are still hiding something.

and that's where the bird thing comes in; while yes, it is proof that magic is real, it is also later going to be proof—a bait, even—that ozpin and qrow aren't being as forthcoming as they could be even when sharing information—because apparently, ozpin giving the branwen twins shapeshifting magic is a secret of super duper caliber, and it's not something they would share willingly, and raven knows that.

so when ozpin confirms everything else raven told them, but doesn't mention the bird thing until yang brings it up? suddenly those reasons that didn't exist, exist. and now it's not just qrow that could be doubted, it's ozpin, and maybe even tai, too.
