It's kind of nice that both Neil Druckmann, Craig Kaizen, and CRWBY despite doing separate productions gave us one of the best well-written confirmation of Bumblby in RWBY and the best well-written love story between two survivors in HBO's version of The Last of Us in just a span of two months.

lol for real tho, it’s interesting to think about how deep that could go while still having it fundamentally be blake and yang..... like, if we’re talking yang as ellie and blake as dina (tlou2 spoilers btw):

yang and ellie both have this deep-seated fear about loss and abandonment or otherwise ending up alone and this is a trauma that makes them both fiercely protective and more or less driven by their attachments (see: ellie crossing the country to avenge joel and yang crossing a continent to find ruby)

a yang that’s not just hotheaded but (as a consequence of a deeply fucked-up, dangerous environment) genuinely brutal is honestly just as compelling as amping up blake’s Edge from her checkered past to 11

damn............imagining the bees—who were both pretty shaken up about having to take adam’s life, even tho it was legitimate self-defense—being ppl who are pretty desensitized to violence/death?? who have to be desensitized?? who are surrounded by violence/death??? (and yet they still have this Infinite Softness for each other? good shit)

how dina and ellie have each other’s backs and balance each other out is pretty bumbleby of them tbh (we stan a Power Couple)

lol the way that i’m literally in love with dina so imagining blake as dina is A Lot (also, jewish blake?? love that. blake giving yang the hamsa bracelet??? LOVE that)

bumbleby having this idyllic farm life together where they raise a child and dance to old records (and Nothing Else Happens After That).........i am EXPERIENCING something here

ok but! blake has some things in common personality-wise with ellie and yang with dina.......... like: yang/dina both being confident wisecrackers who are actually deeply empathetic/the heart of the group; blake/ellie both thinking that leaving is a form of protecting and ending up Obsessed w/ a thing to the point of almost destroying themselves (it’s not that their love is somehow inferior to their partners’ love, it’s that they had to learn to actually VALUE themselves enough to start on a path toward redemption/forgiveness)

that Mask Scene (where ellie’s mask breaks and dina starts taking hers off in a fit a desperation even tho she KNOWS that sharing one is impossible w/o both of them ending up breathing spores and then ellie has to confess that she’s immune) is HIGH ROMANCE and i genuinely am going feral thinking about that w/ the bees

and ofc thinking about yang serenading blake w/ some gay af rwby soundtrack song on acoustic guitar is YEAHH
