Ever since that day, Hiroto , Ryoma and you have been treated more differently. That event was spread towards all students, some students start to make a “ship” battle about the three trying to assume who will end up with who; others try to justify Hiroto actions and tell Ryoma´s decision was the wrong one; another group of people was trying to “support” you and Ryoma and asking you if you could be your “trans BFF” or “gay BFF” and the rest just looked at all of you with disgust or indifference.

 The sounds of them talking about you , touching you and referring to you like you were a slur overwhelmed you to the point of tearing up and hyperventilating, you felt like you commited a crime. Luckily Ryoma would appear and remove you from that situation, putting you in the garden where you can calm down by petting the cats or just silently sitting with each other and if Ryoma got overwhelmed you would do the same.

But sadly this type of comfort didn´t happen to Hiroto, Hiroto was question by everyone if he was gay or not, the coach started to question if he should stay due to bringing such instability to the team before such important tournament and Ryoma showing that he can be a better player if he motivated by spite didn´t helped, all this insecurities just made him feel like he was drowning.

At Thursday, he decided to skip school entirely, slowly walk around in the streets and secretly buy some booze to drown his sorrows; the tennis club were getting worried about his disappearance due to the tournament approaching even Ryoma was getting worried and a bit guilty but he decides to ignore it due to still being mad at him.

You notice Ryoma feel drowned and question:

Ryo, are you ok?-

Ryoma looks aside , sighs and answers in a distress tone:

It’s Hiroto, he didn’t appear today for the training not even in the classes… and I’m still angry but….I’m worried too…-

You hold Ryoma’s hand and caress it with your thumb, Ryoma immediately goes silent and blushes a lot but you fake that don’t notice and say:

Relax, he will be fine. Our last two classes were canceled due to lack of teachers but I didn’t informed my dad yet so we can look for him for the rest of afternoon..-

That’s good but I still need to train… the coach is thinking of me being the captain temporarily due to my performance … some days ago.-Ryoma says kinda nervously looking at the hand holding and then at you really confused on what to do next.

Ok then, I will pick you later.- you get down on one knee and kiss his hand and start to run; Ryoma slowly processes it and silently explodes inside and internally screams but you only chuckle inside memorizing his reaction forever.

You slowly looked around the city, visiting every shop, arcades and shoppings; it was slowly getting dark. Even tho you didn’t found him, you decide to go back to school, pick up Ryoma and go back home until you are pulled in for a dark alley and slammed against the wall, the impact disorient you and they grip your arm making you feel pain, but the smell of alcohol made you sense danger so automatically acted more cautious so you slowly look down and up. 

This person is taller , a bit strong.. They are holding a beer bottle,  wearing black sweatpants and a sports jacket with… the tennis club logo(!). You immediately look up and see Hiroto. He is visibly drunk and furious about you and says:

What makes you so special?... Is it because of your big boobs? Or those thighs….he always liked it somehow…I have been trying to help Ryoma´s depression since MIDDLE SCHOOL… yet you appear and mAgGiCaLlY cure it…and his smoking addiction…-

What the fuck… are you talking about?… He isn't depressed or a smoker…-You look at him tired and insulated about it.

So you don´t know…about his depression..or smoking addiction…heh…heheh..HEHAHAHAHAAAAA… THIS IS WHY I THOUGH HE CHANGED!!!...He didn't change shit…He just got better at hiding it…hahah..-He laughs about it like it is the best joke he has ever heard, slowly stops putting you against the wall.

      He covers his face and slowly realizes how sad the situation is. He slowly hugs you, cries and says:

He didn't change…..I'm sorry for all that I did…I-I want my Ryoma back so much…-

     He passes out, you slowly pet Hiroto´s head and say:

That's ok….We will have him back..-

You piggyback him, inform Ryoma that you found him and your dad that you will come home late and slowly go back to school.

Ryoma looks at you and Hiroto, relieved but he slowly realizes that Hiroto was holding a beer bottle, he just looked at him pissed and ready to go feral but Hiroto’s only luck is that he fell asleep.

You look at Ryoma, worrying about his visible anger and annoyance , you only extend your hand and smile at him like trying to comfort him.

Ryoma slowly holds it and you slowly caress it with your thumb, making him slowly blush but just a little and say:

Let’s go to my home..-

Why? Does he live that far?-You question him 

Yes and the last train for his home already passed two hours ago… and my home is close by- Ryoma clarifies it

But what about your parents?- You look at him worried 

….They are on a trip for now- Ryoma tells you reluctantly.

Hm..ok…- You know he is uncomfortable talking about it but you just accept it.

You inform your dad that you will have a presentation group and it may take all night; he understands it but tells you to be careful. You slowly enter in his home and you notice how dark and empty it is; Ryoma just looks forward , ignoring your gaze and feeling kinda of ashamed because of it and says: 

He will rest in my room, I will also call his parents so they pick him up later.- 

He looks ridiculously calm during this situation and you ask him:

Is this the first time that he drinks this much??-

Nope… and his parents don’t care unless he gets drunk…- Ryoma responds nonchalantly 

BUT HE IS LIKE 15 TO 16!!! They should care…- you respond outrageously 

I tried to stop his alcohol addiction and he didn’t care…he said that it’s “therapeutic” for him…I just gave up..- Ryoma says it like he was on his last straw.

Talking about addiction… Do you smoke?…- You look at him kinda worried.

He doesn’t respond and just look aside, you ask him again:

Ryoma…Do you have a smoking addiction? Like I can find some ways to help you out…like..ehh-

He interrupts you and say:

I would rather focus on Hiroto’s state right now….-

You just stay silent, put Hiroto in bed and just watch as he treats him. You start to bite your nails and your mind starts to agonize you “ He doesn’t want to talk about it…WHY DID YOU TALK ABOUT IT? You can’t read the ROOM????…It isn’t the time…you fucking idiot...idiot idiot Idiot Idiot IDIOT IDIOT IDIOT IDIOT IDIOT IDIOT IDIOT IDIOT IDIOT!!!”. You got too overwhelmed and say:

I will get a cup of water…-

Ok.- Ryoma was completely focused on Hiroto and didn’t even look at you.

You went to the kitchen , you tried to drink your cup of water but those thoughts echoing in your head made your hand tremble and you couldn’t stay still your body started to feel itchy, your bra felt suffocating and you just wanted to stop trembling at any cost…so you squat in the corner of the kitchen and bite your left hand…slowly biting it hard and not stopping it, trying to cover your ears even tho knowing that wouldn’t work, your eyes started to cry from the pain, your thoughts get louder and you’re really close to bang your head against the wall until you heard Ryoma’s voice:

Kapuka , are you there?-

You quickly cleaned your face, hide your hand in your school jacket , got up with your doll smile and say:

Yep, all good. But how about Hiroto?-

He is in a stable state for now if you want to go home, you can.- Ryoma says calmly.

I will ,see you tomorrow?- you ask him happily.

See you tomorrow bro.- Ryoma answers you

You wave at him goodbye with your right hand and he waves back at you.

When you were outside of his home and enter in bus so you could go to your home; you slowly remove your left hand and say to yourself mumbling:

You stopped all work as a faint blush appeared on your S/C  face. You recalled how you met. You felt safe near him, if not happy. Around Ryoma, you felt cared for and you showed the same to him.

  “I… I want nothing but to say that… he’s worthy and valid. At Least… to me. I'm planning to give him something to show him how I feel but, I don't think it's good enough. He IS a man of few pleasures, I think.”, you explain to Kirumi quietly. 

You were unaware of the tennis pro, who was listening at the doorway. You had no idea of just how much your words affected him. One could say you gave him hope, a reason to live. To put it shortly, Ryoma loves everything about you, your L/S/H/C, your deep E/C eyes, and soothing voice, plus was amazed at your talent.  If he could he would watch you forever, crafting with different jewels, gems and metals. Watching your concentration in bliss and how your eyes would sparkle as you doodled in your journal another idea.  He thought those chains of self doubt would forever pull him down. However, even he didn’t know you had that very key that freed him from doubt.

“Ryoma truly cares about you. He would love you for you, S/O.” Kirumi said with a smile, and gave you hope and determination.

“Thank you, Kirumi. That means a lot.”, you say as you fit her watch on her wrist. “And it's complete.”

“Thank you so much S/O. I’ll take my leave now.”, the ultimate maid bowed and left the jeweler to do your work. On the way out she locked eyes with Ryoma, and gave a smile and a thumbs up to him.

As Ryoma entered your research lab, he once again looked in awe at displays of your work, and replicas of other’s work were in their display cases.  He saw you walk out of the back, wiping your hands with a cloth, and took a seat at one of the display bars. 

“Ryoma? I'm surprised to see you here so early.”

“I wanted to stop by anyways. Besides, I can wait.” he replied pulling his hat down trying to hide his blush.

“I won’t keep you waiting then. I’ll be done soon.”, you happily smiled at him.

“S/O wait…”, He said abruptly as he grabbed you by your collar and kissed your cheek lightly.

If your E/C iris could change shape, it would be hearts. Your S/C turned to a deep red as you quickly ran to the back of your lab to clean your workplace, hiding your smile. Completely unaware that you left your design book with Ryoma. HE however, looked at your book with curious eyes. He ran his fingers over the F/C leather and began to open the book. Ryoma admired necklaces, watches, bracelets, rings and different stone cuts. What made him stop was a design of 2 dog tags with a blue rim engraved at the edges. Both had front and back at the top. Engraved on one titled “Top” was two tennis rackets with a ball under the hands, while the titled “Bottom” was engraved with “My Reason To Live” in cursive.

Ryoma was about to tear up as he read your confession. Looking at a heart around his name in F/C ink, until he read the footnotes. 

“Use steel from Hoshi’s ankle chain. If I ask nicely?”, Ryoma quoted with sweat falling from his brow.

“Sorry it took so long Ryom-” you said but stopped in your tracks as you noticed your book in his hands. 

Both of you looked at eachother with worry. Neither of you could tell eachother what you felt at that moment. You took a step forward, wanting your book, but wouldn't say. Ryoma, jumped from his seat, with your book in his hand, and alert like a feline.

“Wait S/O.. Let's just talk this out.” He gestured as he took a step back.

And soon the chase began.
