RYO TOMIEはシーズン2へと移行します。実質的な活動を始めた2018年あたりから様々な事象をモチーフにして風呂敷を大きく広げてきました。それが直近の個展「PARADISE ARRANGEMENT」によって、ひとつの指標を暴きました。それは"時間"です。今まで扱ってきたイコン画や山などの対象は、私自身の潜在的な記憶の断片から何かを見いだそうとするリハビリ的な仕事でした。コンプレックスやストレスを解消するような制作方法をとってきました。かろうじて過去という時間単位を扱ってはいるものの、それは芸術活動ではありませんでした。しかし、遂にそれらを超越し「生きる/時間と共に歩む」ことが見えてきました。ここからはシーズン2となります。どの瞬間にどこに存在していようと、私たちは空を見上げることを忘れないのです。 - RYO TOMIE turning into SEASON2. Since around 2018, the vision has been widely expanded for various motifs. But my most recent solo exhibition, "PARADISE ARRANGEMENT," revealed one index. It's "time". Until now, I have made icon paintings and mountain paintings. It's a task of trying to find something out of my own latent memory fragments. It was a kind of rehabilitation. although I have adopted a production method that relieves complexes and stress, it was not an artistic activity. 🚨NEWS🚨 京都嵐山にて過去作小品展vol.2のお知らせです。 @galleryo_arashiyama 詳細はBIOから見ることができます。この度、ギャラリオ嵐山では RYO TOMIE 過去作展『STORAGE vol.2』を開催いたします。これまで「越境」をテーマに様々な事象をモチーフに選定し作品としてきた RYO TOMIE の過去作、とりわけ ” BORDER ” と題された山のシリーズをメインに展示いたします。 RYOTOMIE は自然や宗教、言語や人種、過去などの抗えないものに対して、新たな視点を設けることでうまれる切り口をきっかけに制作を続けてきました。それは、現在大きな流れとなっている自由平等の訴えや自然災害に対する直接的な取り組みとは一線を画するものです。個人的な体験から成る感覚を、作品の形態やリズムに置き換えることで鑑賞者に二次体験を促すような作用をもっています。作家は「だれひとりとして同じような感覚は持ち得ない、常にわたしたちは人が観たものをもういちどよく観ている。」と言います。確かに私たちの生きる社会では、人の経験を覗き見ることが可能なツールで溢れていますが、個人の直接的な体験はそのひとの中にしか宿っていません。ドイツの思想家、フリードリヒ・ニーチェ (Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche 1844 - 1900) の著作『善悪の彼岸 *1』において有名な一説で「深淵をのぞく時、深淵もまたこちらをのぞいているのだ。」という文章があり、様々な解釈がいまでもなされていますが作家は自身の作品がその一説と似通った効果を持っていると考えます。他者の体験した事実を私たちが二次的な媒体で閲覧したとき、その他者の体験は間接的に私たちの所有物となりますが、その他者が所有された体験を通じて私たちを観ていると考えることができるのではないでしょうか。　自身のアイデンティティを見つめ直してきた作家 *2 には、「体験の優劣 / 比較」という概念が無く、鑑賞体験による事象との対面と感覚の越境が行われるのです。この展覧会シリーズに展示される過去作は、制作の時期が様々ではありますが作家の思想の一貫性を見出すことができる作品群と捉えることもできます。未発表作を含めた過去作を鑑賞できる、この希有な機会にどうぞご高覧下さいませ。 - *1 1886 年に初版が発行されたニーチェの著作。原題は『Jenseits von Gut und Böse』。第 146 節の文章。 *2 RYO TOMIE は 2021 年の個展『The Story Only I Can Tell You』にて、自身の小学生時代を半自伝的に綴った同タイトルの小説を展覧会作品として発表・配布している。 #ryotomie #exhibition #artarchive #ギャラリオ嵐山 #京都アート #京都展 (嵐山) https://www.instagram.com/p/CpOxgYpPNlj/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

鎌倉周辺を闊歩しました。関東圏に住んでいるのに、相変わらず知らないことばかり。ろくろでドンブリを作ったり、旨いお蕎麦を頂いたり、浄土宗のお寺で見頃の梅をまじまじと覗いたり。「春」というものは見えないけれど、「春の行う事」はわかりやすいですね。海と浜辺は、いつでも微笑ましくも騒々しい行き交いをみせ、なんときでも空を映し出していました。江の島ではフライドポテトをトンビにさらわれ、海沿いのサバイバルにヒトが除外されることは無いのだと、思いを馳せました🦅 - We walked around Kamakura. Even though I live in near by tokyo, there are still many things I don't know. we have made bowls , eaten delicious soba noodles, and took a closer look at the plum blossoms at the Buddhism temple. I can't see "SPRING" . But "What is SPRING doing" is easy to understand.🌸 The sea and the beach are always interesting with noisy sounds, and always reflecting the sky. In Enoshima, fries were kidnapped by a black kite🦅😹.
