You always try to sleep in
Always
And you always try to keep him with you when you do
He’ll meditate or sleep for his 4 hours (if he’s lucky enough to avoid nightmares) and just be laying there until morning, cuddling you
And then he’ll get restless as the sun rises, but the moment he tries to slip away, you’re wrapped around him like a vice
And no matter how long you keep him imprisoned there, you’re still utterly exhausted when you get up
When you were traveling across Faerûn, he thought it was just because of all the fighting and adventuring
But no
You’re just always tired
You probably take a nap on the couch in the afternoon, and he’s there with your head or feet in his lap as he works on something, or he’s straight up squeezing in to lay with you
If he doesn’t go to bed with you immediately, you have to go retrieve him
He’ll put off sleep at night for as long as possible, especially if his mind is being cruel to him
You’ll find him hunched over his embroidery or nose-deep in a book, and you’ll lean over the back of the couch and hug him from behind
If he doesn’t get to a stopping point fast enough, you’ll fall asleep just like that
Gods, how many times he’s had to carry you back to bed just because he’s too stubborn
You both have deep bags under your eyes
Both of you kissing under the others’ eyes as a cute little thing <333
If there’s a sun beam on the floor, and you happen to walk through it, oh boy he will find you on the floor taking a nap
He would move you somewhere more comfortable, but he doesn’t want to get burned, so he simply rolls his eyes and moves on
He does love it when you wake up from your sun beam nap and hug him, because he can feel the lingering warmth clinging to you
Sometimes he’ll have a nightmare late at night and cling tightly to you to ground himself
And he feels bad for it, but you’ll wake up, all bleary-eyed and slow-brained, and you’ll rub patterns into his lower back and pet his hair
You actively fight against going back to sleep just to stay up and comfort him
If he can’t calm down as easily, you’ll get up with him and make yourself coffee or a very strong tea to keep you sort of awake
Lots of late night convos during these moments
You sitting on the couch with your back against the armrest and Astarion spreading out along the length with his head in your lap
Or like laying on his stomach and pressing his face against your belly with his arms wrapped around your back
Oh yeah that’s the shit
You’ll always fall asleep before him, but he loves listening to your even breathing
He’d probably be annoyed if you snore at first
But then it grows on him and becomes too endearing
Honestly he probably gets so adjusted to it and so subconsciously tuned to it, that if you ever stop snoring just randomly in the middle of the night for whatever reason, he’s awake and just trying to figure out why tf he’s awake wtf
Hello !! I’m getting really into Shadow The Hedgehog lately & would love to know what you think are the most important non-game pieces of media (comics, shows, etc) that should be checked out by new shadow fans ? :0
(Also, I’d love to know ur opinions on best piece of shadow merchandise but that’s secondary and just for fun-)
hmmm i'd say check out Sonic X seasons 2 and 3! part of season 2 adapts Sonic Adventure 2's story (with its own variations), and i genuinely think season 3 is a great watch with a fantastic iteration of Shadow.
you could also check out a few select issues/arcs from the Archie Sonic Comics (<- guy who Literally Always Suggests Archie Sonic). Archie Shadow is a bit different from how Game Shadow is characterized, but still a welcome version of the character imo. most of my favorite Shadow stories are in the Sonic Universe companion series, here are some issues you can check out:
Archie Sonic #171: Archie Shadow's introduction and backstory is quite different from the games, this issue follows Shadow as he finally finds the piece that helps him recover his lost memory.
Sonic Universe #1-4: explores some of Shadows origins/placement in the Archie Sonic universe. diverges a lot from game canon, don't worry about it tho
Sonic Universe #21-24 (Treasure Team Tango): i literally cannot keep myself from recommending this arc every time i talk about these comics, very fun story (with a very large cast)
Sonic Universe #59-62, #67-70, #87-90 (The Eclipse Saga): follows Team Dark as they deal with a second Black Comet and the fallout from it. also heavily features Knuckles. unfortunately doesn't have a proper conclusion, Archie Sonic was cancelled before it could be finished.
and the best piece of merch will forever and always be the shadow the hedgehog cheeseburger
The moment in the record shop when Aziraphale said he was picking up a Shostakovich record I had So Many Thoughts.
The symphony he's listening to is Symphony No.5 in D Minor, Op. 47, composed in 1937 and premiered in Leningrad to a thirty+ minute long standing ovation. Prior to this piece, Dimitri S. spent many nights sleeping in the hallway outside of his apartment so that his family wouldn't see if the government police in charge of enforcing Stalin's brutal rule came for him in the middle of the night. His last pieces had been received harshly by critics and called unpatriotic, which was just about the worst thing a composer living during The Great Terror (1936-1938) could do. Those who were not loyal to the regime and explicitly portrayed it in their art were branded as traitors and sent to gulags or were straight up executed.
The San Francisco Symphony describes the 5th symphony as "the story of a fall from grace and redemption.". Shostakovitch has gone from being a golden example to being eyed as a traitor almost overnight, the 5th Symphony becoming his redemption back into good graces.
So basically Dimitri S. was a man with contrasting ideologies to the powers that be, so to say, who was living under the threat of death, torture, or excommunication from his homeland. Haha, so weird that Aziraphale would want to listen to his music specifically.
(If you've never listened to Symphony No. 5, I highly encourage you to go listen!)
To set the scene-
From The Houston Symphony's 2018 Fighting the Barbarian Artist article on Symph. 5:
"In January 1934, Dmitri Shostakovich scored one of the biggest triumphs of his career with the premiere of Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District, a work official critics hailed as the first great Soviet opera. Based on a nineteenth-century novella by Leskov, it follows the misadventures of Katerina, the illiterate wife of a well-to-do country merchant who is driven to murder in order to be with her handsome but unworthy lover, the laborer Sergei. By turns satirical and tragic, Lady Macbeth explored themes of oppression with a potent combination of sex, violence and some truly beautiful music that played to full houses for two years.
Then on January 26, 1936, Stalin went to see it. Two days later, on page 3 of Pravda (“Truth”—the newspaper that continues to serve as the official mouthpiece of the Russian Communist Party to this day), Shostakovich found an anonymous review of Lady Macbeth headlined “Muddle Instead of Music.” One representative quote declared that the opera “tickles the perverted tastes of the bourgeoisie with its fidgety, screaming, neurotic music…”"
...
There is debate about if Stalin himself wrote the review to make a point, or if he just signed off on it being printed. It's also unclear if Shostakovitch was being targeted specifically, or just because of his notoriety to prove that no matter how big a name you are you're not safe if you don't fall in line, or if he was just being used as a pawn in the ongoing power struggles of the day.
Either way, he was very aware that he was in danger. A friend of Stalin's was vanished when he wrote to Stalin in defense of Shostakovitch's work after the fateful review.
The 5th was a result of Dimitri knowing he needed to get back into good graces, so he had to give them something that they wanted. Or at least something that sounded like what they wanted.
Symphony No. 5 is very sneaky in how it subverts the expectations and requirements of Stalin's Russia.
For one, it's form- a symphony is a very structured form and very Western, popularized by Beethoven and co. It's also instrumental, which allowed Shostakovitch to hide a lot of references, subversions, and musical sarcasm/critiques without the untrained critics and government officials being any the wiser.
D minor, the main tonality of the symphony, has been described by various music theorists about what kind of emotional experience it portrays. John Mattheson in 1713 described it as "Serious, Pious, Ruminating. Melancholy, feminine, brooding worries, contemplation of negativity."
However, for our purposes, Aziraphale is listening to the fourth movement, which is also the most political. (More excellent write ups about the entire work can be read here, here, here, and here. There is a PBS documentary about it here.) ((It also shifts to an ironic D Major as one point, which Mattheson describes as "Triumphant, Victorious War-Cries. Screaming hallelujah’s, rejoicing in conquering obstacles. War marches, holiday songs, invitations to join the winning team."))
The fourth movement is bombastic, letting the brass section loose right at the start. The main theme in this section is from an unpublished song that Shostakovitch had written as a setting for a Pushkin poem. The piece as a whole and specifically this movement is a direct critique of Stalin himself.
The poem?
With sleepy brush the barbarian artist
The master’s painting blackens;
And thoughtlessly his wicked drawing
Over it he is daubing.
But in years the foreign colors
Peal off, an aged layer:
The work of genius is ‘gain before us,
With former beauty out it comes.
Thus my failings vanish too
From my wearied soul,
And again within it visions rise,
Of my early purer days.
Which I think speaks for itself in what kind of mentality Aziraphale might have listening to the symphony.
I'm not sure which recording he listens to, but in the record shop we are shown that it's a record with a blue label on the disk. There are several recordings that have blue labels including the 1972 Moscow Philharmonic with Kiril Kondrashin and the 1989 Scottish National Orchestra with Neeme Jarvi. Leonard Bernstein and the NY Philharmonic have a very famous recording as well.
But I think the most likely is the 1962 Vienna Philharmonic with Constantin Silvestri. Why? Well, here's the record:
• Diavolo and Lucifer banded together to convince Barbatos watch their favorite show, The Tarot Games
• Simeon sees himself as an old man and Luke’s grandfather
• There have been multiple Henry 2.0’s
• Leviathan told Diavolo he has real otaku potential
• Michael really really really likes sweets and often sends the angel exchange students to buy and send him sweets found all over the Devildom
• Mephistopheles enjoys being relied on and asked things. He was happy to show around Lucifer and Mammon to the best places to eat in an amusement park even though normally he hates them
• Mammon likes pandas because he considers them very profitable
• Despite never being addressed as such, the brothers official status’s are Lords
• Lucifer and his brothers are idolized in the sorcerer community. Some whispered about wanting to ask Lucifer and Beelzebub for autographs
• According to Diavolo markets used to sell dragon meat but Lucifer reminds him they’re in the human world—we can assume either dragon meat sells at Devildom markets still or they used to sell in the human world

this was inspired by when i was fucking around in @wallet6464 's adopt and raise a punch out game. this all spawned from me in an aran ryan png morph driving around in a fuck ass car
aran ryan's license is currently suspended (and has been for seven months) until further notice. "but bazooka, why?" you may be asking. "why is aran ryan, the cleanest boxer ever, have a suspended license?"
well, dear reader, aran ryan is the shittest driver known to man-fucking-kind and i question every day how he has not died. today i will be sharing the events-- albeit in a tl;dr-- that led to his license being suspended.
REASONS WHY ARAN RYAN'S DRIVERS LICENSE IS SUSPENDED:
has 27 points on his license
tried to run over super macho man
mental conditions.
somehow ran seventeen red lights in under 30 minutes
carrying several people in a two-person jeep
had one (1) bottle of popinski's soda in the car
was caught doing donuts on the lawn of super macho man's mansion
flipped off a few cops while driving
had three crates full of beer in his trunk (no one knows where he got them from to this day)
left the scenes of crashes (11 crashes and counting. im one of these 11)
speeding (this is separate from points bc he was doing 171 mph in a school zone in a stolen van)
if anyone wants clarification on any of these i will gladly elaborate
It took me a little bit to figure out what you were referencing, but yes, Jimmy Carter will pass John Nance Garner as the longest-living President or Vice President in American history on September 18th. The reason why (I think) Qi Yan starts to be amnesiac

Within the next year Jingnu moved here, bought the school where Qi Yan was teaching
Qi Yan moves in Jingnu 's estate
and they get married again!
and this time its a love marriage!

» EARTH-2 (POST-CRISIS)
The multiverse is restored following the events of Infinite Crisis and 52, resulting in the creation of a new Earth 2. An alternate rebooted version of Helena Wayne now resides on what's known as "Post-Crisis" Earth-2.
Justice Society of America (2007): Annual #1, #19-20
» EARTH 2 (POST-FLASHPOINT)
Following the events of Flashpoint, a reality-altering event that resulted in the DC Universe's continuity being rebooted for the first time since Crisis on Infinite Earths, a new multiverse was created, resulting in the creation of a new Earth 2.
Infinite Frontier confirmed that all of Pre-Crisis Earth-2 history is now part of Earth-0's canon after the events of Dark Knights: Death Metal. It's unclear whether this applies to Helena's story or not, but everything we've seen of her indicates this is a brand-new version of Helena.
